Members of the Republican Study Committee are set to travel to Bedminster Tuesday night to have dinner with former President Donald Trump, a day after FBI agents raided Mar-a-Lago.  Punchbowl News reported Tuesday morning that Rep. Jim Banks, who chairs the RSC, a caucus of conservative House members, would be taking a dozen lawmakers with him to New Jersey later in the day.  Breitbart News reported last month that Banks and other Republican Study Committee members would be traveling to Bedminster to meet with Trump 'in a few weeks.'  'RSC has visited with him many times before. We have a very close relationship with him, and the Republican Study Committee believes he's the most effective president in a lifetime or more,' Banks told Breitbart in July.  The timing of Tuesday's dinner is fortuitous as many members of the party have rushed to publicly show their support for Trump in the aftermath of Monday's FBI raid.  Former President Donald Trump was spotted leaving Trump Tower in New York on Monday night after announcing his Mar-a-Lago home had been raided by the...

The operation was successful and there were no civilian casualties,' a senior administration official said. Further details were not immediately available. Looking all spiffed up in a blue button down and slacks, Chris Cuomo was today seen entering NewsNation’s studios on 42nd Street in New York City. Cuomo, 51, arrived for his widely publicized interview with Dan Abrams about his highly contentious departure from CNN, his life since and where he will next turn up. Sources close to Cuomo tell DailyMail.com that Cuomo will announce his next move during the interview. It has been rumored in media circles for months that Cuomo has been in discussions with NewsNation about hosting a show for the fledging cable network that aims to compete with Fox News, MSNBC and CNN. Today’s sighting will only add to the speculation. When approached, NewsNation declined to comment, but did say that Cuomo’s interview with air this evening on NewsNation’s Dan Abrams Live at 9pm ET /8 pm CT. Cuomo has been laying low since he was dramatically fired from CNN for helping his brother in his bombshell sexual harassment scandal. But he leapt back into the spotlight with a gutsy Instagram post baring his bod and showing off...

The story consumed the next two months of my life. Throughout this time, I spoke routinely with Gabby's father, Joseph Petito. Most of what we spoke about, I have never reported, but one thing he made clear to me is that he wanted the media to cover other missing people. He said they deserved attention, too, and he was right. I started to look at databases of missing people across the Tri-State area and as I scrolled through the hundreds of faces, I thought about not only those people but their families and friends and the ripple effect of...

The mayor of Akron issued a state of emergency and canceled Fourth of July festivities after Ohio cops unleashed a wave of tear gas on protesters who gathered outside of the city's main courthouse on Sunday night. Several hundred protesters marched in the city in the hours after the Akron Police Department released the bodycam footage showing the shooting death of 25-year-old Jayland Walker.  Walker was killed after being shot at least 60 times by Akron cops following a traffic stop on June 27.  Riot police used tear gas in response to a protester who was taking down barriers that were set up outside of the police headquarters. Authorities responded by coming out in 'full riot gear,' reports WKYC.  While fleeing the tear gas, protesters began driving their cars on the sidewalk to get around snowplows parked in the road to block off the high street - and some protesters launched smoke bombs in the streets, reports the Akron Beacon Journal. One protester began breaking the windows of several snowplows whilst a row of dumpsters was also pictured on fire, although there...
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) further strutted her woke posturing at the Reagan Presidential Library, where she said the world “is really not going that well” under male leadership. As part of the “Time for Choosing” speaker series, Liz Cheney briefly honored former President Ronald Reagan before segueing into a diatribe against former Donald Trump, calling him a “dangerous and irrational man.” Cheney also characterized Republican leadership as being loyal to the former president at the expense of the Constitution. Towards the tail-end of her speech, Cheney celebrated that which gives her the most hope for the future: “young women.” “Young women who seem instinctively to understand the peril of this moment for democracy,” Cheney said. “Young women who know that it will be up to them to save it. And I have been incredibly moved by the young women that I have met and that have come forward to testify in the January 6 committee.” Cheney then praised January 6 witness Cassidy Hutchinson, whose testimony has since been called into serious question by a number of reliable sources that dispute...

President Biden is set to deliver a plea for gun control Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. ET on the heels of another mass shooting in Tulsa, Okla, as Vice President Kamala Harris insisted there are 'no more excuses' not to act.  'No more excuses. Thoughts and prayers are important, but not enough. We need Congress to act,' the vice president said in remarks Thursday.  Biden has said there is little left for him to do from the executive branch and urged Congress to take up measures that would ban assault weapons and strengthen universal background checks.  On Wednesday a gunman opened fire at a Tulsa hospital, killing four people with an AR-15 he purchased three hours before the attack. The shooting came just over a week after a gunman mowed down 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, using an AR-15 he'd purchased days earlier for his 18th birthday, which came just after a white gunman opened fire in a Buffalo grocery store, killing 10 black shoppers.  Biden is set to deliver a plea for gun...
President Biden will address the nation after 8pm on Tuesday evening President Joe Biden will address the nation at 8:15pm tonight after a gunman killed 15 people at a Texas elementary school, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced. The president was briefed on the devastating mass shooting while aboard Air Force One, as he returns from his first trip to Asia as commander-in-chief. Biden was originally expected to return late on Tuesday with no events planned. He 'will continue to be briefed regularly as information becomes available,' his press secretary said. 'His prayers are with the families impacted by this awful event, and he will speak this evening when he arrives back at the White House,' Jean-Pierre added. She called the shooting a 'horrific' event.  Biden was visiting with leaders in South Korea and Japan to reaffirm the United States' commitment to allies in the region and as a warning for China that it cannot operate unchecked. But he's returning to face the deadliest school shooting of his administration, and the worst since a teenage gunman killed 17 people...
JEOPARDY! fans rejoiced tonight as ride share driver Ryan Long stormed through another victory. The 39-year-old from Philadelphia achieved a seven day streak today, racking up a total of $145k in winnings so far. 1 Tonight on Jeopardy!, 46-year-old host Mayim Bialik presided over another victory for Ryan, which saw the Uber driver beat off competition from content strategist Jodi Harris and and writing center coordinator Mari Chao. The show's loyal fanbase has been won over by Ryan's laid-back style and dry-humor, and tonight took to Twitter to cheer him on. One wrote that they are "obsessed with Ryan Long now". Another shared: "Cheering for Ryan on Jeopardy! 6-day returning champion and is a ride-share driver. Love it." A third rejoiced: "Guy from Philly carrying on Jeopardy! went from driving Lyft to making 100k in 6 days".
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Naomi Judd was celebrated with words and soaring music at a public memorial service Sunday that ended with her daughter Wynonna announcing that a tour planned for later this year would go on. “Tonight is a celebration, and at the same time I can’t put into words how devastated I am,” Wynonna Judd said. “I miss her so much. “After a lot of thought, I’m going to have to honor her and do this tour. I’m just going to have to,” she said to applause and cheers at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. “Tonight, as we close, the show must go on, as hard as it may be. And we will show up together and you will carry me.” Judd died April 30 at age 76, one day before she and daughter Wynonna were scheduled to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The ceremony went on, though until Sunday it was unclear whether Wynonna Judd would continue plans for The Judds tour slated to begin in September. In a statement provided to The...
JEOPARDY! fans slammed host Mayim Bialik tonight after she laughed at a contestant's wrong answer. Daniel Nguyen was left red-faced after he made an "embarrassing" mistake. 1 On tonight's episode, the contestants were shown a clip of Panic At The Disco performing live. When asked to identify the band, Daniel fumbled a guess as he answered: "Who are the Jonas Brothers". Host Mayim and the studio audience laughed as she told him: "No." However, fans on Twitter weren't too happy with the reaction. One wrote: "Why did they just laugh at this man’s incorrect answer on Jeopardy? "Don’t give Panic At The Disco the credit they don’t deserve, that was The Jonas Brothers for me."
An asteroid twice the size of the Empire State Building will fly past the Earth tonight, according to NASA, but it won't get close enough to cause any problems. The space rock, named 418135 (2008 AG33), will come about two million miles from the planet, which is roughly eight times further from the Earth than the moon. As it comes within Earth's orbit, and reaches its closest point, the asteroid will be travelling at 23,300 miles per hour, or about 30 times the speed of sound. Measuring up to 2,560 feet in diameter, the rock has been dubbed as potentially hazardous by NASA, reaching its close approach at 10:46pm ET tonight. The sun is waking up… Most of us certainly take for granted that the burning hot star in our solar system, otherwise known as the sun, is keeping us alive and well. When was the last time you gave it any real thought? The orb of heat and light 93 million miles away is essentially responsible for all that we consider life. While we still have billions of years before it begins to die and eviscerate all the inner planets, there is still good reason to keep a close eye on what it is doing on a daily and yearly basis. We are just emerging out of a “solar minimum” (a period of relative quiet, low activity on the surface of the sun) and beginning a new solar cycle. Putting it mildly, the sun is a very busy and volatile place. So, when I say our sun is “waking up,”...

North Carolina State University swimmer Katharine Berkoff took second.  Thomas barely pulled off the feat, pulling seventh in her heat in the first 50 yards before surging to second place behind the winner of the event - both in the heat and overall - Walsh.  As a fifth-year senior, Thomas came into the event with the 10th fastest record, which she set at the Ivy League Championships in February.   Thomas has endured months of backlash for having what critics say is an unfair advantage. In my years at the White House – as a speechwriter to Presidents Richard Nixon and Jerry Ford (1972-1975) and then as director of the entire presidential speechwriting operation for Ronald Reagan (1981-1983) – the looming deadline of a State of the Union Address always marked the winter of a presidential wordsmith's discontent. This was because, more than any other presidential utterance, the SOTU, as we always called it in the shop, combined all of the major annoyances and hazards of the trade in a way no other speech did.  Top White House staffers, cabinet and agency heads (and their flunkies), party officials, congressional leaders, a gross, greedy legion of lobbyists and pressure groups, and, of course, political pundits and activists with more ego than talent, all focused on the speechwriting operation, bullying, coaxing, cajoling and pulling strings in pursuit of their individual SOTU wish lists. All this is predictable enough in a bustling, contentious democracy.  And when a president and his senior team have a strong, clear sense of purpose and direction – and when they actually understand and...
