UK health and statistics authorities allegedly used 14 inconsistent ways to define fatalities. 2Covid death figures that led to costly lockdowns and national panic may have been completely wrong 2UK health and statistics authorities allegedly used 14 inconsistent ways to define fatalities Many who died early in the pandemic were never actually tested for the virus while others may have died from something else entirely, according to experts. Professor Carl Heneghan, from Oxford University’s Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, said: “We still have no idea how many people died with or from Covid. “Some of those counted as a Covid fatality may never have had the virus. “The accuracy of this data is vitally important because it led to lockdowns and restrictions which had huge socio-economic costs. “If the death toll has been wrong all along, it will lead to a lack of trust among the public. “And if we don’t fix these issues, there’s a chance there will be calls for...

Your life is about to change.Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, issued a disturbing warning during a White House briefing Tuesday: Americans everywhere need to change the way they live their lives. It doesn't matter if you're in a state that has no cases or one case," Fauci said. Two years later, more than 967,500 people have died and about 79.5 million have been infected with a virus politicized by an already fractured nation. The Pentagon responded to President-elect Joe Biden’s accusations that its leadership has been obstructing the transition process and has not been transparent with budget planning. Biden said during remarks Monday that his transition team at the Pentagon has “encountered obstruction” from the political leadership and that it needed “full visibility into the budget planning process underway.” “We have encountered roadblocks from the political leadership at the Department of Defense and the Office of Management and Budget. Right now, we just aren’t getting all the information that we need from the outgoing administration in key national security areas. It’s nothing short of irresponsible,” Biden said. The Pentagon told Breitbart News in a statement: DOD has been completely transparent with the Biden-Harris Transition Team on the fiscal 2021 budget. We have also provided topline information on the fiscal 2022-2026 program to the Biden-Harris Transition Team. The Office of Management and Budget has not yet authorized the release of the full details of the FY22-26 program. Those moves have led to some improvement on offense through five games this season. The team’s record is just 1-4, however, and the defense has not looked nearly as impressive as it did a year ago. They’re 26th in points allowed and 29th in yards allowed, which led to a succinct and negative assessment of the unit from defensive coordinator Patrick Graham on Thursday. “It’s completely unacceptable,” Graham said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. Sign up for the free Mother Jones newsletter.Speaking with candor on Meet the Press on Sunday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas acknowledged that “we are working in a completely broken system.” No kidding. After a week in which Border Patrol agents on horseback corralled Haitian migrants at the Texas border with whip-like cords and shipped thousands back to the island country—leading to the resignation of the US Special Envoy for Haiti—Mayorkas’ admission seems like a bit of an understatement.  But Mayorkas doesn’t appear ready to fix that broken system. In the same interview, Mayorkas defended the decision to send 2,000 migrants back to Haiti, though many of them have not stepped foot in their home country for years. Mayorkas said the expulsion was necessary under Title 42, a public health policy invoked by President Trump as justification to turn asylum seekers away at the border. “The Centers for Disease Control has a Title 42 authority that we exercise to protect the migrants themselves, to...

Everyone wants the same thing when it comes to COVID-19: A cheap, effective, reliable treatment that can be easily administered to anyone who shows symptoms, with good assurance that they’ll quickly recover. There are existing treatments for COVID-19 in the form of monoclonal antibody treatments from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and Vir Biotechnology, but those treatments are expensive, difficult to administer, and available in limited quantities. Unless those factors change, these treatments will never become the kind of panacea we need. If there was something that could be packaged into a pill, or even an EpiPen-style injectable, and handed to everyone as soon as they received a positive test for COVID-19, it would be great. Every health professional wishes that hydroxychloroquine had turned out to be that safe and effective treatment. It just didn’t  Every health professional wishes the same about ivermectin. Widely available? Check. Easily administered? Yes. Safe and effective? Well …  For months, fans of ivermectin persuaded by online enthusiasm have been pushing the anti-parasitic based on the same kind of evidence that was once behind the hydroxychloroquine buzz: small, non-clinical...
A model with vitiligo that has turned half of her body white has opened up about the brutal criticism and 'rejection' she faces from other people of color who have alienated her from their community because of her skin condition.       Model and single mom-of-three Bailey Ramirez, 30, was first diagnosed with the skin condition when she was 19 years old, after she found a small white spot on her elbow. However when she fell pregnant at age 20, the vitiligo started spreading across her body, leaving her with large white patches on her face, arms, and legs.  Although Ramirez has learned to embrace her unique looks and her condition - which causes a lack of melanin production in the skin, resulting in the white patches - she admits that her appearance has made her the target of cruel comments from strangers, who have compared her to Michael Jackson and even branded her a 'sexy cow'.   Her white skin has also seen her face rejection from other people of color, with the mother-of-three - who is based in LA and is...

The sum does not include funds that would be paid due to a growing number of lawsuits that have been filed since the June 24 collapse, where the building has stood for just 40 years. All the...

Former President Trump has blasted a news report by CNN that alleged he had turned down a meeting with long time supporter and embattled Florida congressman Matt Gaetz. 'Fake News CNN, relying on all anonymous sources, meaning they probably made the whole thing up, wrote a very dishonest story claiming Congressman Matt Gaetz asked for a meeting with me at Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, and was denied,' wrote Trump on the social media platform Gab. CNN's report suggested that Gaetz, who is facing a federal investigation into sex trafficking allegations, was denied a meeting with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate as the ex-President and his allies deliberately sought to distance themselves from the Florida congressman.  Gaetz's staff at the time strongly denied the report - and now Trump has weighed in doing the same.  Donald Trump accused CNN of making up a story that embattled Florida congressman Matt Gaetz wished to have a meeting with him. New York (CNN Business)Patrick Soon-Shiong, the billionaire owner of the Los Angeles Times, is urging America to admit it has a racism problem. "This unconscious bias and racism is pervasive. It's almost inherent, sadly, in the historic fabric of this country," Soon-Shiong, the founder and executive chairman of biotech company ImmunityBio, told CNN Business in his first public comments about the surge of anti-Asian hostilities. WITH its dated wallpaper, damp corners and crumbling bricks, most people who viewed Kievah and Jim Wallace's property were put off by the amount of work it required. But when the Newcastle-based couple viewed the four-bed house for the first time, they saw huge potential - and knew it could make an incredible family home one day. In December 2018, Kievah and Jim purchased the property - which hadn't been redecorated for 40 YEARS - for £312,000. Kievah - who welcomed daughter Ruby 18 months ago - said: "When we first bought the house, it had been in the same family since at least the 70s and was in drastic need of refurbishment. "It wasn't even in a liveable state so we had to start renovations straight away." The Snapdragon 765Both the standard model and the ‘gaming’ with the surname G, have managed to appropriate most of the conversations in the environment of powerful phones without becoming the best. In the step below the 800 line of Qualcomm, being adopted by many models of the Android ecosystem, including the very Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 of Google itself. Given that both processors arrived on the market at the end of 2019, in December, it was strange that Qualcomm had not yet taken the step of presenting their substitutes, without forgetting the Snapdragon 768 that was launched as an interlude. Nevertheless, the first leaks of the Snapdragon 775 are here, and they leave little to the imagination. 5G at full capacity and triple cameras operating at the same time The leaked features of the Snapdragon 775 and Snapdragon 775G As we said, the Snapdragon 775 and Snapdragon 775G have been filtered quite aggressively, leaving very little to be discovered in the presentation of both. That despite Giannis Antetokounmpo's otherworldly efforts, the Bucks plateau as the fourth-best team in a middling East and must make it through some combination of Philadelphia and Brooklyn to get to the NBA Finals. South African variant of COVID-19 identified in California, Newsom says Georgia prosecutors investigating election interference Bears’ RB David Montgomery stirs trade talk with “Playing in Chicago has been fun” tweet, then says “Y’all took that completely wrong!” There have been plenty of cases of athletes either announcing or lobbying for a trade on Twitter, and so a tweet from Chicago Bears’ running back David Montgomery Wednesday that seemed to many to be hinting at one of those two things took off.  Montgomery was a key piece of the Bears’ offense down the stretch and helped get them into the playoffs, so a move involving him would certainly be a big deal. And there had been some talk of the Bears making a big move, and maybe even trading for a veteran quarterback like Carson Wentz (or possibly Deshaun Watson, or possibly someone else), so some interpreted Montgomery’s tweet as related to that. © Provided by Awful Announcing David Montgomery against the Texans in December 2020. Raphael Warnock about her large trading of stocks ahead of public knowledge on the coronavirus pandemic, to which Loeffler responded by claiming she had been “completely exonerated” of such allegations. “When you received the private briefing regarding the coronavirus pandemic, you dumped millions of dollars of stock in order to protect your own investments, and then weeks later when there came an opportunity to give ordinary Georgians an extra $600 of relief, you said you saw no need and called it counterproductive,” Warnock stated. The Democratic Georgia Senate candidate then asked Loeffler a loaded question. “Why do you think it’s counterproductive to help ordinary Georgians in the middle of a pandemic?” Warnock asked. Loeffler quickly fired back, stating that she had been “completely exonerated” following the reports about her trading on the stock market. “Thank you for that question because I’ve been completely exonerated,” Loeffler replied. “Those are lies perpetrated by the left-wing media and Democrats to distract from their radical agenda. The northern Colorado alt-rock band Holdfast hasn't let COVID-19 stop its creativity. With a new single coming out October 16 and a new album in January, the group has been keeping busy. This is according to a new study which argues acidic fluids in Martian clay could have dissolved evidence of biological life. 2Nasa's Perseverance rover aims to collect clay soil samples from Mars in 2021Credit: AFP or licensors The researchers think acid could explain why life is so hard to find on the Red Planet. They've just published their research in the Nature journal Scientific Reports. Martian soil has long been targeted as a substance that could protect evidence of organic material if it had been present on Mars. Nasa's Perseverance rover is even tasked with landing on Mars’ Jezero Crater in February 2021 to collect clay soil samples. 2Acidic fluids on Mars could have dissolved signs of lifeCredit: Getty Images - Getty However, the new study suggests that even if we finally have Martian soil to examine, it might not be able to provide us with the evidence we're hoping for. One of the authors, Alberto Fairén, said: "We know that acidic fluids have flowed on the surface of Mars...

Seattle-area radio show host Jason Rantz told “Fox & Friends” that officers with the Seattle Police Department (SPD) “feel like they are being completely abandoned” by the city’s mayor, adding that they are right to feel that way. Rantz made the comments one day after Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best announced she had an "epiphany" that “policing will never be the same” following national outcry over the death of George Floyd, and as her department remains locked out of the East Precinct. Best appeared on CBS's "Face the Nation" Sunday morning to discuss the recently renamed Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) zone, or Seattle's self-proclaimed Capitol Hill autonomous zone, where she talked about how the future of policing in the city will forever change in response to both local and national demonstrations. Host Steve Doocy asked Rantz, who has been to the CHOP zone, “How does this end?” “I fear that it ends by giving into some of the demands of this group and I wouldn’t be surprised if they just completely give up the east precinct police station as a community center for them,” Rantz said in response. “I know that the...
The shooting death of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta Friday night was "completely different" than the in-custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Mark Morgan said Sunday. "Mr. Brooks, he didn’t just resist a lawful arrest, he did so violently. He fought with the police, again and again," Morgan told "America's News HQ." "He took their weapon, one of their weapons and tried to use it against him. That is a different complete set of circumstances." ATLANTA POLICE CHIEF RESIGNS AMID BACKLASH OVER FATAL SHOOTING OF BLACK MAN Morgan made the comment as the Georgia capital city erupted in protests and rioting following the police-involved shooting death of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks outside a Wendy’s fast-food restaurant. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the deadly confrontation started with officers responding to a complaint that a man was sleeping in a car blocking the drive-thru lane. The GBI said Brooks failed a field sobriety test and then grabbed an officer's stun gun and ran with it, then was fatally shot by police after he pointed the stun gun at them. During a news conference, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said she didn't think the use of deadly force...
JEFFERSON PARK — Several hundred protesters marched through Jefferson Park on Chicago’s Northwest Side Friday evening, calling for an end to police brutality and in support of Black Lives Matter. The crowd was also hoping to convince Ald. Jim Gardiner (45th) to support a Civilian Police Accountability Council (CPAC) — but Gardiner wouldn’t even say he supports Black Lives Matter, let alone a new oversight council for the Police Department. The event began around 5 p.m. in front of Gardiner’s office at 5425 W. Lawrence Ave. and proceeded east to Milwaukee and then northwest to the 16th District police station before going back to Jefferson Park. It was put together by a few neighbors, among them Ryan O’Donnell and Brian Solem, who said it was important to raise awareness in a neighborhood that is mostly white and conservative. Both men expressed disappointment that Gardiner did not show up, noting that his office was closed about an hour before the event started. “We reached out to him but received no response,” O’Donnell said. Solem said it was a missed...
Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Jennifer Carnahan is calling for Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, both Democrats, to resign amid the violet protests sparked by the death of George Floyd while in police custody. “We’ve watched for over a week as our governor of Minnesota and the Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey completely failed all the residents and citizens of Minneapolis and Minnesota,” Carnahan told “Fox & Friends First” on Tuesday, adding that the two have been “playing political games.” She went on to say that “it was unfortunate to see because it took three nights of full chaos, destruction of our city, burning down of a police precinct, rioting of businesses before they did anything and then their actions were very light and still contributed to continued chaos in Minneapolis.” Protests were sparked by the May 25 death of Floyd, the Minneapolis man who died in police custody May 25 after an officer kneeled on his neck for more than eight minutes in a moment caught on cellphone video. The officer, Derek Chauvin, was fired from the force and has been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the case. Crowds across the nation...
