Federal regulators blamed a Brockton construction company for the death of a 51-year-old man who died when the Boston Government Center garage collapsed during a demolition project earlier this year. It was his first day on the job.  The Department of Labor announced on Tuesday, Sept. 27, that it had fined JDC Demolition Co. $1.2 million for not properly training its employees and ignoring safety concerns during the project.  Peter Monsini of South Easton died on March 26 when the excavator he was in fell nine stories after the floor buckled beneath him, officials said. More than 100 tons of concrete fell on top of him as the structure crumbled.  Investigators said another heavy equipment operator told the foreman earlier that day that he worried the floor could collapse, but the boss ignored the warning. Instead, they put Monsini in the excavator, but they didn't properly train him on how to follow the engineer's demolition plan, the Department of Labor said in its ruling. Federal regulators also found that JDC Demolition was not supposed to have the excavator on any...

William K Lescher ordered the investigation in a letter from August 31.  It was promptly given to a rear admiral from outside the SEALS, the New York Times reports, signaling that Navy officials had given it the highest priority and wanted an independent investigation into the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEALs course — or BUD/S for short.  Lescher asked investigators to focus on safety measures, the qualifications of instructors and medical personnel, as well as its drug testing policy as sailors complain the course has only become more grueling since a SEAL Team Six commander was put in charge. He also asked what, if anything, had changed since February, when 24-year-old former college footballer Kyle Mullen died just hours after completing the course's Hell Week, which takes place during the fourth week of part of Phase 1. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, is now technically a prince following the death of the Queen - a title which Meghan controversially claimed was previously denied to him because of his race. His younger sister, Lilibet 'Lili' Mountbatten-Windsor, is also entitled to be a princess following the death of the Queen and with her grandfather, the Prince of Wales, becoming King. The rules set out by King George V in 1917 mean Archie and Lili - as the children of a son of a sovereign - also now have an HRH style if they choose to use it. During the explosive Oprah Winfrey interview, Meghan Markle described her 'pain' as she claimed officials had denied Archie the title of prince and accused Buckingham Palace of failing to protect him by denying him 24/7 security. When asked if it was 'important' for Meghan that Archie be called a prince, she said she doesn't have any attachment to the 'grandeur' of official titles. But she said it was about 'the idea of our son not being safe, and...

The parents of axed Buffalo Bills kicker Matt Araiza have issued a ferocious statement defending their son amid allegations he was involved in the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl last year. The 22-year-old punter was released by the Super Bowl favorite Bills on Saturday, and his career is in tatters as he awaits more news on the civil lawsuit filed last Thursday. Amid the backlash, Araiza's parents have now released a statement of their own to the media, revealing death threats sent to their entire family, and reiterating that their son should be 'innocent until proven guilty'. As reported by KUSI-TV, the statement reads: 'The rule of law is innocent until proven guilty. That is not our experience. There has been a war waged against our son. 'He has been tried and convicted in the media based on information released solely from the alleged victim and her attorney, much of it through social media. People have taken his information as factual, when it is not.' NFL player Matt Araiza has been released by Buffalo Bills after being accused of gang rape...

Anders Odegaard, 31, is in custody for the murder of  his wife A Minnesota lawyer has been charged with beating his ex-wife to death in front of their young children, including a three-year-old boy who was in his mother's arms as she was beaten, choked and left for dead in a pool of blood.  Anders Odegaard, 31, is in custody for the murder of his ex-wife Carissa.  The couple married in 2011 but divorced in 2021, saying in court documents that there had been an 'irretrievable breakdown of the marriage'.  On Tuesday, police were called to Anders' home in Warren, Minnesota, where they found Carissa lying in a pool of blood in a doorway near the dining room.  She had gone to collect the couple's five kids for church at around 5pm and Anders, wearing just his boxers, flew into a rage and began beating her.  The couple's oldest child, a nine-year-old boy, ran out of the home to a nearby highway to flag down a motorist.  The driver went to the family home, saw Carissa inside unconscious and called...
What the hell is going on in Beverly Hills? Not on television, necessarily (although I have some questions). But the social media storm surrounding this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has hit a spectacular new low, after a targeted bot campaign attacked a cast member's young child. Let’s back up a bit. Tension has been brewing on the show—and online—between Beverly Hills Housewife Garcelle Beauvais, a vocal and celebrated fan favorite of the show’s passionate audience, and…nearly everyone else in her cast. Lisa Rinna suggested that fans of Beauvais were using race to evade criticism aimed at her by other cast members (Rinna and several other veterans of the show refer to themselves as the Fox Force), for which she later apologized. Erika Girardi (see also: Jayne) suggested on Bravo’s after show YouTube series that Beauvais had been insincere in asking questions about her drinking and out-of-control behavior, and was actually seeking revenge after Girardi suggested her married son Oliver consider a threesome, and cursed at her 14-year-old child, Jax. Dorit Kemsley agreed.
