(CNN)Actress Tommy Dorfman came out as trans just over a year ago in a triumphant spread in Time. But if she hadn't appeared on the popular Netflix series "13 Reasons Why," she said, she may have come out earlier. "I think if I hadn't booked that job, I would've started transitioning a lot sooner," Dorfman told Rachel Bilson on her podcast "Broad Ideas." "I think because my work being (sic) so tied to my body and like face and like identity, and whatever I'd been identified as, it delayed some of my growth and maturation in my mid-20s." Dorfman said she was cast on "13 Reasons Why" at 24, and even then she was combating gender dysphoria. But on the series, a controversial but widely watched teen drama that premiered in 2017, Dorfman played a gay, cisgender male, a situation that led her to "compartmentalize" the parts of her that questioned her identity. "For me, I feel like I kind of got stuck in time for a minute," she said of her casting on the show, for which she also...
Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany on Friday called on the media to “wait for the facts to come out” before speculating about the FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. If only she practiced what she preached. McEnany, who served in the Trump administration as press secretary during its dark final days, has repeatedly and wildly speculated about the raid on air at Fox News, where she now serves as a host. On Friday’s Outnumbered, McEnany criticized The Washington Post for reporting that the classified materials Trump took with him to Mar-a-Lago included sensitive information about nuclear weapons. She called the story “evasive” and urged the media to proceed with caution regarding its allegations. “My point is, let’s wait for the facts to come out,” she said. “There is a history,” McEnany continued, “of stories on anonymous sources that turn out not to be true, so let’s wait for something called facts, which many networks don’t wait for.” Yet McEnany’s first on-air reaction to the raid ignored facts entirely. Last Tuesday, the morning after the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago,...
The late actress Anne Heche named the stars she would like to play her in a film about her life in an eerie podcast interview seven months before her death. Heche, 53, spoke without hesitation to name Miley Cyrus and Kristen Bell as the two actresses she believed could pull it off when speaking on the podcast 'Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef' in January. 'I've already thought about it. Miley Cyrus or Kristen Bell,' the Donnie Brasco star replied before Yontef had even finished the question.  Heche said she believed 'those two girls' had the ability to 'pull off the humor that I have' while also doing justice to 'the journey that I've gone through.'  'The two of them share a personality ability to face the world the way that I would want, that I feel like I have and would want portrayed.'  Anne Heche was declared dead on August 12 after suffering a horror car crash in Los Angeles on August 5. Former Trump staffer Olivia Troye recalled finding classified documents left in the women's room of a bathroom in the White House complex during her time working under Vice President Mike Pence.  'I found classified information in the ladies' room of the White House one time in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building,' she said on MSNBC Friday. 'And I immediately walked it right up to security and said, "I just found this in the bathroom."'  'I covered it up, I put it in a folder. It wasn't marked properly,' she continued. 'I was not expecting to walk into the ladies' room and find a document like that.' Troye quit the administration in September 2020 over former President Donald Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, having served alongside Pence on the White House's coronavirus taskforce. She then publicly endorsed Democratic President Joe Biden.   In a follow-up interview Sunday on MSNBC, Troye characterized members of the previous administration as being sloppy with classified documents.  'I'm gonna tell you, look, it is a known thing. People would carry documents around, especially political appointees, around and traditionally you...
In a forthcoming book detailing the experiences of female candidates on the presidential campaign trail in 2020, then-candidate Elizabeth Warren revealed that several voters crudely told her they would vote for her — but only if she was a man. Those sentiments echoed among several voters, with many telling campaign workers for the Massachusetts senator that the country would “never have a woman president.” HILLARY CLINTON BLASTS BERNIE SANDERS FOR ‘THINGS HE SAYS ABOUT WOMEN’: BOOK "'I lost it,' this organizer told me," wrote NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent Ali Vitali in her book Electable: Why America Hasn't Put a Woman in the White House … Yet. "But that was the vibe. Women and men alike, both as explicitly as that but also implicitly, would just say, 'Look, I think it’s great what you’re doing … but America — it’s just not gonna happen.'" "Everyone comes up to me and says, 'I would vote for you, if you had a penis,'" the book quotes Warren as saying. The anecdotes highlight a larger struggle that Warren...
Britney Spears' ex-husband has posted a series of clips of their young sons arguing with their mother, as the warring parents step up their increasingly acrimonious fight. Kevin Federline, 44, revealed last week that their sons Sean, 16, and 15-year-old Jayden no longer wish to spend time with Spears, 40. The singer was devastated by Federline talking about the family rift, and posted a series of angry messages on Instagram, including one accusing Federline of exposing the teenagers to marijuana. On Wednesday night Federline re-activated a long-dormant Instagram account to retaliate by posting the clips of their sons, which were filmed four years ago. 'I can not sit back and let my sons be accused in this way after what they've been through,' the father of six wrote.  The first clip shared by Federline appears to be filmed in a bedroom, with Spears berating her sons - then aged 11 and 12 - for lacking respect Federline and Spears are pictured in 2006, at an after party for the Grammys. Olivia Wilde has accused ex Jason Sudeikis of intentionally trying to 'embarrass' and 'threaten' her when she was awkwardly served with custody papers on stage at a live event in April.  Court filings obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com have revealed the exes' once-amicable custody and co-parenting agreement has turned into a bitter dispute over Wilde's plans to relocate to London, where new boyfriend Harry Styles is based. Sudeikis, 46, and Wilde, 38, began dating in 2011 and went on to have two children, son Otis, 8, and daughter Daisy, 5, before splitting in late 2020.  The actors had continued to co-parent and share custody of their kids since then,  alternating one-week periods of 'parental access', while they both split their time between New York, Los Angeles, and London.  But those arrangements became no longer viable in April this year, when the pair had a disagreement about where they would be raising their children permanently, prompting Sudeikis to file a custody petition.  Olivia Wilde claims Jason Sudeikis intended to 'embarrass' and 'threaten her' by publicly serving her custody papers on stage at CinemaCon...
Saul Loeb/Getty Images Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders blasted the FBI for Monday’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate – yet said “you’re losing” when “attacking FBI agents.” “If you’re not yet appalled by the total abuse of power from Democrats in Washington, you’re not paying attention,” posted Sanders on Monday night. Clinton blamed the FBI for her defeat in which the agency investigated allegations she mishandled classified information when she was Secretary of State. The raid of Mar-a-Lago was reportedly in response to Trump allegedly taking classified information to the estate from the White House when he left office in January 2021. Oh....

Doug Ducey and invested $15 million of her own money in the campaign. Lake, a steadfast proponent of the Big Lie, had been the frontrunner, building her campaign around Trump’s stamp of approval—and the support of election deniers like Rep. Paul Gosar, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and My Pillow’s Mike Lindell. Lake campaigned on election conspiracy theories, anti-immigrant and pro-border enforcement rhetoric, and her repudiation of the very media that gave her a platform.  Lake announced she was running for governor three months after ending her 22-year career with the Fox affiliate. In a video making her resignation public, Lake said she no longer...

Khalid Mehdiyev, 23, was found Thursday with the loaded assault rifle, a separate high-capacity magazine and more than $1,000 worth of cash hidden in a suitcase in his car, according to a federal complaint. For two days prior, it says, he had been sitting in his gray Subaru Forester SUV on a Brooklyn street with an Illinois license plate for several hours, focusing on the home of dissident journalist Masih Alinejad.  During that time, federal officials say, he began acting suspiciously - ordering food to be delivered to his car, looking inside the window of the home and even attempting to open the front door. He was eventually stopped by the NYPD on Thursday at around 3pm when he rolled through a stop sign. Cops at the time found he was driving without a license, and placed him under arrest. DEAR ABBY: I recently made some unflattering comments about my daughter-in-law to my son. They were recorded on their Ring doorbell. Now she’s angry with me and my son, and I’m not sure I will ever see the grandchildren again. When I emailed her an apology, she said she didn’t know if she could ever forgive me. She will see my husband, but I am not allowed over there if she will be around. Any words of wisdom as to what to do? We have always helped them out with the children and sometimes financially. Should my husband tell her if I’m not welcome, then he feels the same way? I know he feels caught in the middle between me and the whole situation. The jury in West Palm Beach, Florida, however, found Haruvi, 67, not guilty of battery against Giovana Stephenson, his wife, court papers show. 'Justice prevailed,' Haruvi's ecstatic attorney Cyrus Toufanian told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview. An Australian TikTok influencer has faced backlash over his 'random acts of kindness' videos - with viewers branding him the 'Exploitation King' and 'disrespectful'. Harrison Pawluk, 22, produces viral clips of himself performing good deeds for strangers - from handing the homeless bags of food to paying for a woman's groceries and handing elderly people flowers. However, his footage has sparked uproar this week when an elderly shopper hit out at him over a widely circulated video where he gave her a bouquet while she sat and drank coffee at a shopping mall. The shopper, Maree, said she felt 'dehumanised' and 'like clickbait' by the episode - with Pawluk's clip of the incident racking up more than 58.8million views.  Elsewhere, another video showing him handing a bag of items to rough sleepers was criticised by viewers, with one person commenting: 'Exploiting the homeless.' The TikToker's manager Taylor Reilly told Daily Mail Australia that Pawluk has since received threats via his messages as a result of the backlash to his footage, which makes him between $10,000 to $15,000 a month through...
Nearly half a decade after the story broke, we’re getting an inside, big-screen look at the reporting behind the New York Times’ bombshell piece exposing Harvey Weinstein as a sexual predator. The story made waves in the film industry, exposing a flurry of folks who had abused their power with sexual misconduct, sending #MeToo to the very top of the trending page in 2017. The first trailer for She Said gives insight to the reporting done behind the scenes by journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, played respectively by Zoe Kazan and Carey Mulligan. And while the first trailer does have Spotlight-levels of thrill, folks on social media have pointed out a big plot hole: Brad Pitt, who executive produced the film, has been accused of domestic violence against Angelina Jolie. What’s the value of pointing out some of Hollywood’s biggest misdemeanors when an alleged abuser is profiting from the film? Haven’t we learned from our mistakes? Pushing the envelope even further, Pitt reportedly knew about Weinstein’s behavior—the actor confronted the producer back in 1996 trying to protect Gwyneth...

The Mexican-American actress had boarded the Southwest flight at Sacramento International Airport in California, where the incident involving Los Angeles-based singer Maybe Jacy was asked to cover up. Ms Bobadilla said: 'Hey friends just got pulled off a @SouthwestAir flight bc I advocated for a young woman being shamed and harassed by an employee for wearing a tank top that was deemed too revealing.'  She explained that the employee became 'defensive' when asking about what rules Jacy was breaking, responding: 'She is wearing a corset and this is a family company. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) caused a stir this week when she took the floor of the House to oppose a gun safety bill and in the process seemed to vow to shoot her own grandchildren. “I have five grandchildren,” the congresswoman began in her Tuesday speech. “I would do anything—anything—to protect my five grandchildren. Including, as a last resort, shooting them, if I had to, to protect the lives of my grandchildren.” Growing more angry, Lesko then accused Democrats of trying to “take away my right to protect my grandchildren” and “the rights of law-abiding citizens to protect their own children.” After Lesko’s remarks started to pick up steam on social media Wednesday, with gun rights activists including Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts expressing concern over her apparent priorities, the congresswoman issued a statement that did not seek to clarify her comments but rather attack her critics. “It never ceases to amaze me the lengths gun control zealots will go!” Lesko wrote on Twitter. “They turned my speech about protecting Second Amendment rights and my right to...
