He added that Reeder, like many of the people charged in relation to the January 6 Capitol siege who have pleaded guilty, still refuse to own up to their actions.  'It has become evident to me in the riot cases that many of the defendants who are pleading guilty are not...

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on Tuesday examined the origins of former President Donald Trump's "Big Lie" of election fraud, which she described as the "current animating force" in the Republican Party. "I may be wrong, and I'll correct myself if I am, but so far this has not been previously reported on TV." Dr. Ryan Cole, who previously described the COVID vaccine as "fake" and as "needle rape," now serves on the Central District Board of Health in Idaho, according to The Washington Post. The controversial doctor was appointed to replace Dr. Ted Epperly, a 15-year board member who was ousted for embracing COVID restrictions to mitigate the spread of the virus. Cole, who was supported by the Ada County Republican Party, was selected by Republican county commissioners. The publication reports that commissioners "liked his 'outsider' perspective and how he 'questioned' medical guidance." An example of Cole's stance on COVID mitigation was highlighted during an August 26th Zoom call when he condemned mask wearing. "There's really statistically no efficacy in masks," Cole stated incorrectly during an August 26th Zoom call with Peace Valley Charter School, which was mulling over COVID-19 mitigation requirements to enforce for the new school year. MADRID (AP) — Soldiers are being deployed in southeastern Spain to join the battle against a major wildfire that is burning for a fourth day. It has destroyed more than 6,000 hectares (15,000 acres) of forest and prompted fresh evacuations, bringing the total number of residents displaced to around 2,000. Authorities on Sunday preventively removed residents from the town of Jubrique, population 500, and announced they would also evacuate the 400 inhabitants of Genalguacil. Over 1,000 more had been already evacuated before the weekend from other areas surrounding the resort town of Estepona, popular among tourists and foreign expats. A military unit was traveling from the military base of Morón, in southern Spain, to join more than 300 firefighters and 41 water-dropping aircraft battling the flames. Infoca, the Andalusia region’s agency in charge of firefighting efforts, described Sunday as a “key day” for bringing the blaze under control. That was despite the timid progress seen on Saturday, when authorities said that better weather conditions had helped them stabilize the perimeter of the blaze, allowing them to focus on four...

A new Morning Consult poll of American veterans from the Afghanistan war found that those troops rate Biden’s handling of the war lower than each of his three predecessors. Only 49% of Afghanistan veterans approve of Biden’s foreign policy in the country. Former President Donald Trump earned the highest marks on the question among the group, with 63% approval, followed by former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, who were each at 54%. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A San Francisco landlord once described as a “ruthless predator” who allegedly tried to drive tenants out of a rent-controlled unit must pay them $2.7 million, a state appeals court ruled. The court last month upheld the award in a 2015 lawsuit filed by Dale Duncan and Marta Munoz Mendoza, who lived in the building with their daughter. But when it came down to pulling people out and pulling troops out and leaving the country, you couldn’t have picked a worse way to go about it.” Hannity said, “There was the meeting with one particular family member, you decided not to meet with Joe Biden, your family. And he met with the marine’s pregnant widow and described it as a — the widow described it as a scripted total disregard to the service member’s death.” He added, “Tell us about your...
