SAN FRANCISCO — Less than three minutes remained, all the Warriors needed to put the Grizzlies away was one dagger from one of their prolific scorers. Klay Thompson rose up and hit a 3-pointer, his eighth of the game, and sent Chase Center into a frenzy. Thompson ran to the baseline to celebrate with them, holding up five fingers on one hand and one finger on the other, beating his chest. “Game 6 Klay” had returned, and Thompson wanted everyone to know it. And he was needed. The Grizzlies, fighting for their lives, had an answer for every run. Still fending off a challenge in a close game, the Warriors just needed a few plays to make the score untouchable. Those final minutes saw Andrew Wiggins hit two key 3s, Steph Curry hit three after scuffling all game and Kevon Looney play every second of the fourth quarter while vacuuming eight of his 22 total rebounds. But Thompson’s 3-pointer late was the cherry on top of a 30-point quintessential “Game 6 Klay” performance that was the difference between another four-hour...

A sorority at the University of Alabama has axed its chapter president from her post and booted another member after their racist text messages were leaked on social media. The vile texts were sent when Alpha Phi sorority members ventured to a bar in Tuscaloosa last week—and some started complaining about the spot, according to University of Alabama’s The Crimson White newspaper. “I’m gonna yack, it smells so bad in here,” then-president Katherine Anthony reportedly wrote in the text thread. Kylie Klueger, another sorority member at the bar, allegedly blamed the smell on “cigs, weed and black girl.” After the private messages were leaked on Instagram, The Crimson White reported that Anthony was ousted as president and Klueger was expelled from the sorority on Dec. 9. That same day, the University of Alabama chapter of Alpha Phi posted about the issue on its Instagram page, which boasts more than 24,000 followers. “The Beta Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi was made aware of a group text message where a member used racist and hateful language,” the post read. “We immediately...

The most used video platform in the world is receiving an update that will allow users to change chapters within the same video with just one gesture. As YouTube becomes more indispensable in our lives, the folks at Google insist on launching new features to make spending hours on the platform more enjoyable (as well as safer). In this sense, the inclusion of the chapters to separate the different contents and topics that were given in the same video was one of the most important and useful updates, since it helped to navigate through the videos without making much effort. This feature, which is used by both the creator and the viewer, had until now a negative point: that it was very difficult to precisely select the beginning of each chapter, as it could only be done by eye. Up to now. Since YouTube has introduced a new gesture option in its latest update, which consists of tapping your fingers twice on the screen to jump from chapter to chapter. If the two blows are in the left side we...
Several new Tennessee criminal justice laws aimed at protecting children will start Thursday, the beginning of a new fiscal year. Three of the laws were created after newsworthy cases in recent years, including Eli’s Law, Evelyn Boswell’s Law and a new requirement that families receiving subsidies must provide the Tennessee Department of Children's Services annually with medical and school records. The latter comes after Michael Anthony Gray Sr., Shirley Gray and Michael Anthony Gray Jr. were charged in the deaths of adoptive children in Roane and Knox counties and with fraud for collecting for collecting TennCare benefits after the children had died. The trio was accused of starving the children and keeping them in isolation in cages. “The department may initiate a visit to ascertain the well-being of the child if the person fails to provide the required documentation,” reads Public Chapter 163, which was sponsored by Sen. Ken Yager, R-Kingston. Eli’s Law, Public Chapter 568, was sponsored by Sen. Jon Lundberg, R-Bristol. It creates a requirement that when a newborn arrives from parents who have had another child removed...
Fortnite has had a variety of skins over its two chapters and sixteen seasons so far. Every season Epic Games releases a variety of new skins alongside re-releases of old ones. Since the frequency of release of these skins is random, some skins end up much rarer than others. This has been the case with the Recon Expert skin. The skin originally released on October 30, 2017, and after being re-released later in November that year, it was not seen until May 2020. However, if you failed to get your hands on it then, you can visit the store today and purchase it for 1200 V-Bucks. The skin is not very cosmetically innovative. It features a character wearing a military vest with a green star. Thus the Recon Expert gear is more desirable because of its rarity in the community. Alongside the Recon Expert skin, you can also find items like PSY’s Gangnam Style emote, a furry ‘Guff’ skin, and a themed pickaxe. We also have the re-releases of cool-looking skins like Wild Card, Sanctum, Astro Assassin, and Razor. Furthermore,...
Piney Point, the former phosphate mining facility that leaked millions of gallons of wastewater near Tampa Bay, will soon take steps toward "permanent closure," Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said Tuesday.  A leak broke through one of the facility's wastewater ponds last month, spewing millions of gallons of wastewater into the environment. Though officials got the leak under control last week and were able to redirect it to stay onsite instead of flowing into a nearby creek, part of that process entailed pumping untreated wastewater from the reservoir into Port Manatee, which leads into Tampa Bay.  DeSantis spoke from Port Manatee on Tuesday, saying "we've made good strides" since he visited the facility on Easter Sunday, and that officials have "mitigated the imminent threat to public safety."  On Saturday, a steel plate was installed in the leaking south pond to stop the breach. The pond still has 221 million gallons of waste- and stormwater, according to the state's most recent data. Piezometers have also been installed around the pond to detect any water pressure changes and "help ensure the integrity...

Drew Angerer/Getty Images President Joe Biden reacted to the news of former President Donald Trump’s acquittal at his second impeachment trial Saturday, calling it a “sad chapter in our history,” and urging Americans to commit to defending truth and defeating lies in order to “end this uncivil war.” Biden’s statement began with a mention of he and his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, paying their respects to Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick while he laid in honor in the Capitol rotunda. Sicknick died after sustaining injuries during the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Biden praised the 57 Senators, “including a record 7 Republicans,” who voted to convict Trump “for inciting that deadly insurrection on our very democracy,” highlighting that the vote in both the Senate and the House had been bipartisan. “While the final vote did not lead to a conviction,” Biden continued, “the substance of the charge is not in dispute,” citing comments from Republicans who voted to acquit, like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who said that Trump was guilty of a “disgraceful dereliction of duty”...

The fifth season of ‘Riverdale’ arrived a few weeks ago at Movistar + after suffering some delays from the pandemic. This new installment, which has 19 episodes, premiered with the two chapters that were canceled when the coronavirus began to flow around the world in spring. The restrictions made the series created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Greg Berlanti, had to delay its premiere plans for this new season. Once the first two chapters and a third that could be seen last week have been released, the new episode of this next Thursday that will be broadcast by Movistar glued to the premiere in USA, will completely change the series with a time jump of seven years where the protagonists are no longer the same. What will happen in the new chapter of ‘Riverdale’? The drama series produced by Warner Bros premiered in 2017 quite successfully with a young audience with a story that usually has many twists in each season. This fifth installment will not be an exception and can be seen in this fourth episode, ‘Purgatory’, in which the...

Longtime South Bay Realtor Rebecca Jepsen, with Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty (GGSIR) in Los Gatos, considers it a privilege to help seniors navigate all the ins and outs of the real estate market. She honors the memory of her late father every time she reaches out to help a senior. GGSIR’s philosophy “aligns perfectly with my standards in real estate,” says Jepsen, “to deliver exceptional customer service, exceed expectations and treat clients’ money as if it was my own.” Downsizing from the family home and transitioning to a new residence can be a daunting task, both emotionally and physically. However, with her plethora of resources, limitless energy and passion she turns what is often a stressful, turbulent, and overwhelming experience into a smooth, straightforward, and hopefully, even enjoyable one. “Helping seniors lights me up,” Jepsen says. “Having the opportunity to help so many people, regardless of their age, is a major reason why I became a Realtor in the first place.” Her best friend, aka Dad, who passed away at the age of 94¾, instilled in her the desire...
Chapter 2 Season 5 of Fortnite has been an astounding success so far, primarily owing to Agent Jones and his team of bounty hunters. Moreover, several crossovers that facilitated the arrival of Kratos, Master Chief, the Mandalorian, and many others on the island provided a perfect start to it. It seems like the current season’s storyline is about to take a drastic turn soon, which will also lay the foundation of an unexpected ending. Fortnite’s official Twitter handle recently showcased some unusual activity. It had a mask as its profile picture and posted some tweets that were deleted before a majority of players could see them. Apparently, a member of ‘Fox Clan’ was trying to communicate through these tweets, but failed. This person was requesting the fellow members of the clan to work together. The enemies are really close to the island, and only a collective effort will be effective enough to escape their wrath. iFireMonkey, on Twitter, compiled the entire thread before Fortnite deleted it: ALSO READ- Minecraft Breaks Fortnite’s Monopoly to Reach Exceptional Milestone Another mind-boggling tweet talked...

But Amazon has mostly put forth other top executives in past antitrust hearings with lawmakers, allowing Bezos to stay largely out of the fray.
