Getty Tyler Lockett of the Seattle Seahawks celebrates with Russell Wilson after catching a pass for a touchdown on Jan. 2, 2022. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett signed a $69.2 million contract extension with the team in April 2021 — but that hasn’t kept him from pursuing a second job. Inspired by his love of HGTV, the NFL star got his real estate license after the 2021 season and just sold his first house. At an Aug. 6 press conference at Seahawks training camp, Lockett said that despite his busy schedule as a pro athlete — named Seattle’s 2022 Male Sports Star of the Year in June — he is passionate about selling real estate, too, and may want to host a show on his favorite network one day.Lockett Sold First House in Just 7 Days View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tyler Lockett (@tdlockett12) Lockett told reporters he studied for 90 hours to become a licensed real estate agent in Washington, and as soon as he earned his license in March 2022,...
Quashan Lockett was in the car headed home on June 30 when a news alert flashed on his phone that USC and UCLA were joining the Big Ten. His initial reaction mirrored that of so many others, but with a twist: Just two weeks earlier, Lockett had been hired by the Pac-12 conference office for an executive role. “I was like, ‘Whoa.’ And then you wonder, ‘What’s going on? Is there even going to be a Pac-12?’” he recalled. “But then you kind of let things settle in and realize everything will be fine. I’m not going to the Pac-12 because of any one school. I’m going to make sure the athletes are front and center.” Lockett is joining the conference Monday as its first Chief People and Inclusion Officer, with a direct reporting line to commissioner George Kliavkoff. In the role, Lockett will work with both conference employees and the campuses on matters ranging from human resources to talent development to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB). Lockett, 38, has spent his career in the sports and entertainment world,...
Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver Tyler Lockett candidly shared on Twitter about how he has dealt with mental health issues in the NFL, even during games.  It’s no longer Mental Health Awareness Month, but creating conversation around mental health struggles is something that matters year-round. It’s especially important for athletes, who serves as role models all while experiencing unique mental health struggles, to be transparent about what they’re going through whenever possible. Although professional athletes achieve some of the greatest emotional highs imaginable, there are also unparalleled lows in losses, which can create anxiety, depression, and self-esteem that is rooted in performance. To combat the stigma around mental health issues and show the world what living with them looks like, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett shared a powerful account about how he spent at least two of his seven NFL seasons struggling with depression and anxiety. Getty Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Despite major departures with Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner playing for new teams, the Seattle Seahawks still have some terrific players on their roster. Some of them aren’t getting the national recognition that they deserve, either. Doug Farrar from USA Today‘s Touchdown Wire gave his list of the NFL’s most underrated offensive players. The list featured names like Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills and Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox, along with star Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett. “Whoever is Seattle’s starter this season will at least have the benefit of two top receivers in D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, and though most people know about Metcalf’s explosive play ability, Lockett seems to get lost in the conversation despite his considerable understanding of the nuances of the position,” Farrar said. “Whether from the slot or outside, Lockett has become one of the game’s most proficient and technically practiced targets.”Tyler Lockett’s Quietly Impressive NFL CareerLockett wasn’t a household name coming into the league. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Deron Lockett wants to know why the US cannot ban the carrying of firearms the way he saw carry banned in Vancouver, Canada. Lockett tweeted on Wednesday, “I went to Vancouver Canada this past weekend! And from what I know it’s illegal to carry weapons there. Idk why the U.S can’t do the same.” Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau announced on Monday a freeze on all handgun sales and purchases. The ban also reduces legal magazine capacity. On August 2, 2015, Breitbart News published a report on gun-free zones–places in the United States where the carry of guns is banned–and noted that attacks in just eight gun-free zones resulted in 105 innocents being killed. Concealed carry of handguns for self-defense is legal with a permit in every state in the United States, and constitutional carry–permitless carry for self-defense–is legal in 25 states.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Much to his surprise, Tyler Lockett has become the old guy. Looking around the Seattle Seahawks locker room, the veteran wide receiver is now the longest-tenured member of the roster after the trade of Russell Wilson and release of Bobby Wagner during a tumultuous offseason. “You made me feel old when you said that,” Lockett said Tuesday after Seattle wrapped up its latest offseason workout. “It’s a lot different since Russ and Bobby is gone. Mentally you feel like you’ve got to step up. You feel like you’ve got to fill in the gaps and those voids that’s gonna be missing. But for me, I just try to continue to be myself. I don’t try to put extra pressure on myself.” There’s a lot new in Seattle, including Lockett’s standing in the locker room. He’s the only player remaining from the Seahawks’ 2015 draft class and just one of two players acquired by Seattle before 2018. Long snapper Tyler Ott is the other after he joined the Seahawks in 2017. But all the...

Those rumors aren’t likely to stop any time soon, but one ESPN insider provided an important update amidst all of that speculation. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler provided updates on all of the latest contract updates and trade rumors surrounding the NFL’s biggest names. When discussing Metcalf, Fowler provided an encouraging update for Seahawks fans. “The Seahawks have had chances to trade Metcalf, and some teams wondered whether they might jump on those opportunities amid their rebuild,” Fowler said. “But the team’s actions — or inaction — spoke loudly. Getty The Ravens add a Pro-Bowl WR from the Seahawks in this bold trade scenario. A n elite wide receiver is still conspicuous by his absence from the Baltimore Ravens’ roster. The team was unable to find one during the 2022 NFL draft and will be reluctant to overpay in the free-agent market. One possible solution would be a trade to acquire a proven pass-catcher. There could be trade possibilities if the Ravens inquire about the availability of two playmakers plying their respective trades in the NFC West. While the Ravens are lacking big-time talent at the position, the Seattle Seahawks are blessed with two 1,000-yard wide receivers. Both have been the subject of trade rumors this offseason, but one writer has chosen the ideal target for the Ravens. ALL the latest Ravens news straight to your inbox! The latest trade rumor has one of those receivers linked to the Baltimore Ravens. Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine gave their suggestions on some trade predictions that may not happen right away, but could happen before the 2022 trade deadline. The final potential trade that Ballentine suggested was a trade between the Ravens and Seahawks surrounding former All-Pro wide receiver Tyler Lockett. “After watching the Ravens trade away Marquise Brown, Lamar Jackson should be on board with the team moving to add a proven wide receiver,” Ballentine said. “As Jackson heads into a contract year himself, the organization would be smart to entice him to stay by building up the options...
Getty Denver Broncos wide receiver K.J. Hamler, seen here warming up against the Los Angeles Chargers in SoFi Stadium, is making solid strides in his recovery from a knee injury. Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is known for throwing the deep ball. The receiver who could be his fastest, and most dangerous, downfield target in Denver appears to to be coming back from an injury at a rapid rate. Broncos receiver K.J. Hamler was clocked at 4.36 seconds in the 40-yard dash coming out of Penn State two years ago, as NFL Network Reporter Mike Garafolo reported in this story from March 31, 2020. Hamler had a decent rookie campaign that included 30 catches for 381 yards and three touchdowns, but he looked ready to fulfill his promise as a downfield speedster in 2021 when a knee injury in Week 3 prematurely ended his season . “(Hamler) was hitting his stride, playing fast and confident and strong,” Denver receivers coach Zach Azzanni told Nick Kosmider of The Athletic for his April 24 story on Hamler. “Then (the knee...
Getty The Cardinals are interested in a WR compared to a frequent nemesis. A.J. Green is back in the fold, but that shouldn’t stop the Arizona Cardinals from targeting a wide receiver in the 2022 NFL draft. There are plenty of proficient pass-catchers to choose from a class rich in talent at the position. The Cardinals may miss the chance to select one of the leading names when the team isn’t picking until 23rd in the first round. Fortunately, a talented wideout could still be on the board by then. This rookie has been compared to Tyler Lockett of the Cards’ NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks. What’s more, the Cardinals are credited with “genuine” interest in this receiver, who is considered “tailor-made” to play in the slot at the pro level. That would make him an ideal replacement for Christian Kirk, who found a new home with the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency. ALL the latest Cardinals news straight to your inbox! The Green Bay Packers could be heading back to the trade market to find Davante Adams’ replacement in their offense for next season. According to Jack Settleman of Snapback Sports, the Packers have made calls to the Seattle Seahawks to inquire about the trade availability of Pro Bowl wide receivers Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. They need a new No. 1 pass-catcher after dealing Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this month and have enough draft capital — multiple picks in the first, second and fourth rounds — to be competitive in the trade market. Settleman also said the Kansas City Chiefs have reached out about Lockett and Metcalf as well. They also recently traded away their top receiver in a deal that sent Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins and netted them five draft picks to build for the future. Sources tell...
After losing two of the best receivers in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs are both searching for replacements. Well, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers have phenomenally talented quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes are truly great! As it turns out, it generally helps to have a really good wide receiver regardless of whoever is playing quarterback. Even phenomenally talented quarterbacks can’t be expected to throw and catch the ball, just ask Tom Brady. Sometimes, a team will need some talented wide receivers to improve its chances of succeeding and thriving. Sometimes that includes teams with great quarterbacks. So, after the Packers traded Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, it makes sense that both Green Bay and the Chiefs would choose to pursue some great wide receivers. Apparently, both the Packers and the Chiefs are reaching out to the Seattle Seahawks to ask about some really talented receivers. Sources tell me the Packers and Chiefs have inquired about DK Metcalf...
Getty Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett is campaigning for Colin Kaepernick. The Seattle Seahawks continue to be mentioned as a possible landing spot for Colin Kaepernick as he attempts to make an NFL comeback. Star Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett went viral for working out with Kaepernick then later took to Twitter to campaign for a team to sign the quarterback. It just so happens his own franchise has a massive hole at the position. “Yessir!! That man Kap is ready!!” Lockett said retweeting a March 15, 2022 message from Kaepernick. Kaepernick praised Lockett noting it “felt great being out there with you.” The quarterback also promised to post the full workout session with Lockett. Getty Colin Kaepernick looks to pass during an NFL workout. As the San Francisco 49ers figure out what to do in free agency, it appears as if former quarterback Colin Kaepernick is working with an NFC West rival. The Jimmy Garoppolo trade saga and what comes next for Trey Lance has been the top priority for 49ers fans this offseason. However, as the first day of the legal tampering window begins, there doesn’t appear to be much progress on the Garoppolo front. Meanwhile, Kaepernick has been planting the seeds that he is still ready to play in the NFL. The former 49er has not played in the league since his release in 2017, which came after a season in which he sparked a movement of players protesting racial injustice. Tyler Lockett saying he and his brother will run routes for Colin Kaepernick could open a pathway for him to compete for a job with the Seattle Seahawks. Colin Kaepernick has been out of the NFL for five years, but a retweet by Tyler Lockett has Seattle Seahawks fans wondering about their team’s interest. It is undeniable that Kaepernick sacrificed his playing career for social justice causes. While he has rarely been willing to put himself in front of a microphone as the voice of social justice warriors everywhere, Kaepernick always had the talent to compete for an NFL job. By Michael Hurley, CBS Boston BOSTON (CBS) — The Seattle Seahawks as we once knew them are no more. Russell Wilson was traded on Tuesday, hours before Bobby Wagner was released. Coming off a last-place finish in the NFC West, and having just a single playoff win over the past five years, it appears as though a complete teardown is underway in the Pacific Northwest. And if that means that Tyler Lockett is now available, then the Patriots ought to be on the phone. With haste. Of course, if Tyler Lockett is available, then a lot of teams will be on the phone. But looking at it strictly from a New England perspective, the prospect of adding Lockett is surely more appealing than the path of looking to the draft to solve the team’s deficiency at the receiver position. Perhaps if the Patriots had the track record of, say, the Pittsburgh Steelers with regard to drafting wide receivers, that wouldn’t be the case. But with N’Keal Harry serving as the Patriots’ lone first-round pick at receiver during the Bill Belichick era, it requires...
HOUSTON (AP) — The family of a 27-year-old man who was shot and killed by Houston police as they attempted to serve him with an arrest warrant says the officers never identified themselves before they opened fire. An attorney for Charion Lockett’s family said Friday that newly released police body camera footage of the Feb. 7 shooting supports their belief that Lockett feared for his life in the moments before he was killed. “Why did they show up with guns out to his home without announcing themselves as police officers?” said Taft Foley, one of the attorneys. “It’s the reason why this case is a tragedy. It’s a tragedy because it could have been prevented.” Police allege that Lockett, who was Black, was the aggressor. “As officers approached the residence, Mr. Lockett was sitting inside his vehicle in the driveway. He stepped out and began firing upon officers as he moved towards his front door,” Assistant Chief Belinda Null said in a video statement that accompanied the body camera footage released Thursday. But one of the Lockett family’s...

MINNETONKA, Minn. (WCCO) – Kiani Lockett is one of the best basketball players in the state. The songs you need to make the perfect Halloween playlist Surprising Ways Gen X and Boomers Are Worlds Apart Financially Cooper Kupp and Tyreek Hill are close together in fantasy scoring, but they got there in different ways--and one method is preferable to the other. Fantasy football is a rather simple concept, which lends to its massive popularity. Score more points than your opponent in a given week and you win. But if it's all about scoring the most points, why do you hear so many stories of the manager with the most points in the league having a sub-.500 record? Two concepts are primarily to blame: luck, which we’re not going to get into here, and the uneven distribution of fantasy points. All fantasy points in a given league—touchdowns, yards, receptions, field goals, interceptions—are created equally, but not all points are distributed equally. The poster boy for this concept is living up to his boom-or-bust nature once again this season. Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett averages 13 points per game (PPG) in points per reception (PPR) leagues. That mark...

He specifically addressed Kittle’s calf injury and said that the issue resulted in the tight end missing a walk-through. SANTA CLARA, Calif. RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Tyler Lockett would have preferred to be anywhere else on Wednesday, rather than standing at the front of an auditorium talking about himself, the numbers he’s put up through the first two weeks of the regular season and the chance he has for more records this week. The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver seems to prefer the feeling of being somewhat underappreciated even as he continues to put up huge numbers. “The only thing that’s different is like everybody’s trying to start talking about me,” Lockett said. “I just want to kind of chill and not be in front of the camera. I just want to kind of do me.” While he may not want the attention, he’s earned it over the first two weeks of the season. Lockett has 278 yards receiving and three touchdowns through the first two games, including long scores of 69 yards in Week 1 against Indianapolis and 63 yards last week against Tennessee where he nearly came to a stop, let two Titans defenders slide by, and outran the pair...
Week 3 is here and with it comes a bevy of potentially fruitful matchups. These players are my best bets to capitalize on their pairings at the running back and wide receiver positions. ___ Running Back DERRICK HENRY, Titans It was a struggle in Week 1, but the Titans figured out what to do on offense, now that their talented former offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is gone, and that’s to give the ball to Derrick Henry as much as possible. Henry touched the ball 41 times in Week 2, racking up 237 all-purpose yards and three TDs against the Seahawks in a big win for Tennessee. He’ll face an Indianapolis team this week that he scored three TDs against in one of their 2020 meetings, the most he scored in a single game that year. LATAVIUS MURRAY, Ravens Murray has scored in both games this season for his Ravens team, despite only touching the ball 10 and nine nines in those two games. It’s a crowded backfield in Baltimore, but Murray’s usage increased from Week 1 to Week 2...

(Photo by Steph Chambers/Getty Images) The Seattle Seahawks take on the Minnesota Vikings in an anticipated Week 3 matchup between the two high-powered passing attacks. In his two showings this year, Lockett has averaged 25 yards and 22.25 yards per catch, respectively. His three touchdowns on the season make him a clutch red zone target, but it’s Lockett’s ability to move the Seahawks down the field that will come into critical play in Week 3. Notably, the Lockett connection is what worked for Seattle last week, with Lockett getting two receptions of 50 or more yards in a single game. His 63-yard touchdown was his seventh of 50 or more yards, leaving him one behind tying Joey Galloway for the most in franchise history. Although Lockett only scored 44 yards in last year’s matchup against the Vikings, he will be necessary in a win over...

Seattle’s new offense under coordinator Shane Waldron got off to a good start, with quarterback Russell Wilson throwing three touchdowns in the first half — two of them to Tyler Lockett. Seattle leads 21-10 at halftime. Wilson’s third touchdown came just before the break. After the quarterback got sacked to bring up second-and-20, Wilson fired a deep bomb to an open Lockett in the middle of the field. Lockett made the catch then kept his footing to score a 69-yard touchdown. It was the second time Lockett did a nice job of tracking a deep ball to score, as he caught Wilson’s first completion of the season for a 23-yard touchdown. That capped a nine-play, 81-yard opening drive. The tight ends then got involved on Seattle’s second possession, with Will Dissly catching a pair of passes...
Clutch Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett makes his first game-changing play of 2021 with an impossible 23-yard touchdown grab. Seahawks wide receivers have long had the unfortunate reputation of being undervalued — just ask Doug Baldwin — but chronically-underrated wideout Tyler Lockett made sure he got his due this year with an incredible 23-yard touchdown on the Seahawks’ opening drive against the Indianapolis Colts.

I’m projecting a top-20 wide receiver finish for Lockett this season. While he may not match his 100-catch campaign from 2020, he should be a weekly WR2 option for your fantasy team this season. Getty Former Cardinals receiver John Brown is looking for a new home. The Seattle Seahawks spent many seasons trying to find a way to slow down speedy wideout John Brown during his tenure with the Arizona Cardinals. After requesting his release from the Raiders, Brown is looking for a new home, and Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon sees the Seahawks as a potential fit. “There’s no doubting standout Seahawks starting receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, but Russell Wilson’s lost his No. 3 receiver from last season when David Moore signed with the Carolina Panthers,” Gagnon detailed. “We still don’t totally know what to expect from rookie second-rounder D’Wayne Eskridge, and sophomore sixth-rounder Freddie Swain doesn’t exactly move the needle. “Wilson made it clear this offseason he wants more support. He and new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron would likely appreciate the opportunity to let Brown occasionally sprint outside opposite Metcalf with Lockett in the slot.” Brown Ran the 40-Yard Dash in 4.34 SecondsBrown played a key role on the Cardinals offense from 2014 to 2017 as the...
25 movies that definitely did not need a sequel 29 Stocks That Every Retiree Should Own Stop if you've heard this before: The Seattle Seahawks are going to change up their offense.  This time, it's all about tempo. New offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, over from the Los Angeles Rams, has promised to speed up the pace. You won't read many Seahawks stories from training camp without hearing about the new tempo of the offense.  Even if that's remotely true — and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll changed the offense at midseason last year, so nothing is permanent — then Russell Wilson will be the biggest beneficiary.  But don't forget his receivers, particularly Tyler Lockett.  Tyler Lockett could have a huge season You would probably feel good betting the over on any members of the Seahawks' passing game, but Lockett seems particularly appealing. Lockett's receiving total at BetMGM is 1,000.5.  Even if the Seahawks offense is the same as always, Lockett has a good chance to beat that total. If the Seahawks really are speeding up the pace, Lockett should blow...
Getty Tyler Lockett celebrates a touchdown against the Panthers. The Seattle Seahawks will enter the 2021 NFL season with a different offensive system. Shane Waldron is the new offensive coordinator, and he will set out to get the ball out of Russell Wilson‘s hands and to his playmakers. The result, as wide receiver Tyler Lockett explained, is a ‘two-minute drill” offense with 40-50 available plays. The dynamic receiver made the comments to Jon Manley of “The News Tribune” following a practice session at training camp. He explained that Wilson will have the option of roughly four dozen plays that he can switch to at the line of scrimmage, which should make the offense less predictable on a weekly basis. “It looks a lot like what we do in two-minute from the past six years we’ve been here, but now it’s more efficient,” Lockett said. “There’s a whole bunch of plays that Russ can choose from. It’s not just 15 plays like we used to have.”The Offense Will Limit Hits on Russell WilsonWith the Seahawks adding Waldron to the...

The Seattle Seahawks made two roster moves heading into the start of training camp including signing former Cardinals wide receiver Darece Roberson, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, the Seahawks released cornerback Saivion Smith to open up a spot to add Roberson. “The Seahawks are signing WR Darece Roberson, a source tells me (@TomPelissero first reported),” Henderson tweeted. “He went undrafted in 2020 out of Division II Wayne State University, whose website lists him at 5-10/170. Roberson was with the Cardinals earlier this offseason. The Seahawks will have to make a corresponding move to fit Roberson onto their 90-man roster. News surfaced on Saturday, July 24, that the NFL will fine any unvaccinated players $14,650 for any violation of COVID-19 protocol. The league’s stars responded in a variety of ways, including Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett. He responded with a strong message to the NFL. The former third-round pick quote tweeted a story by “Sports Illustrated” which addressed the new NFL policy. He added a message of his own about whether the league can take these steps to punish the players. “I don’t think they can do this. The player reps gotta vote on this. And we haven’t voted,” Lockett added on social media. Lockett’s tweet sparked a wide variety of responses from people on Twitter, including players and casual people alike. Several specifically directed messages at the receiver and told him to “go get the shot” while using varying levels of politeness. Lockett fired back and clarified that he had received the vaccine.Multiple NFL Players Responded to the New COVID Guidelines GettyJalen Ramsey...

In an interview with NFL Network’s Good Morning Football this week, Lockett described a partnership that thrives off selflessness and a desire to see one another succeed. “I think the biggest thing just about me and D.K. is we’ve learned how to feed off of one another,” Lockett said. “Being able to have another player on the other side who’s phenomenal, who’s dominant, it’s exciting for me to be able to watch him. Getty Tyler Lockett celebrates a touchdown. The Seattle Seahawks offense had several standout moments during the 2020 season, a list that includes Tyler Lockett breaking the franchise record with 100 receptions. However, a former NFL receiver believes that this mark is only setting the stage for even more production. Michael Bumpus predicts another historic season for this offense. The former Seahawks player made the comments during a Friday appearance on 710 ESPN Seattle’s Danny and Gallant. He explained that Russell Wilson could break the franchise touchdown passes record again but that it is less likely due to the change in offensive coordinator. Shane Waldron, the former passing game coordinator for the Rams, is now running the offense, and he could rely on a shorter, reception-heavy passing attack. “Naturally I want to say the touchdown passes (record),” Bumpus explained, per ESPN Seattle. “But I think on offense, Russell isn’t going to be throwing the ball 40 yards down the field like he used to. That leads me to believe that the receptions and the yards might go first.” “They’re...
