Nicolas Cage is often referred to as “eccentric,” or as Hollywood’s most “misunderstood” star with his extravagant real estate purchases, quirky taste in children’s names and sometimes baffling choice of film projects. So it may come as no surprise that the legendary actor would woo Patricia Arquette, the first of his five wives, in a unique but “mind-boggling” way. In an interview with the New Yorker, Arquette, currently starring in the Apple TV+ series “Severance,” talks about how she met Cage at a deli in Los Angeles but wouldn’t go out with him, unless he obtained objects for her that are supposed to be unattainable. Calling Cage’s effort to procure these objects “romantic,” Arquette said they included an autograph from the famously reclusive author J.D. Salinger and a black orchid from the jungles of South America. Patricia Arquette is an Oscar-winning actress but when it comes to current events, the Boyhood star deserves a Golden Raspberry for dumbest tweet of the year. In her since-deleted tweet, Arquette demanded that Russia be kicked out of NATO, apparently not realizing that Russia never was part of NATO and that the organization was created in part to contain Soviet expansion. Everyone needs to relax about Patricia Arquette getting a simple tweet wrong about "kicking Russia out of NATO" !She meant to say China. pic.twitter.com/IpLEvDL2rg — Thelionheart (@stilltrying1234) March 5, 2022 After being widely ridiculed, Arquette blamed her egregious error on her dyslexia and said she meant to say the United Nations, not NATO.  She also said she doesn’t give “two shits” about being ridiculed and said those mocking her can go “cofveve” themselves. (The actress misspelled “covfefe.”) I’m dyslexic. It’s in my bio and has been for years. A couple 14 hour work days laters and I flipped NATO and UN. You will live. pic.twitter.com/VIV2Un5Zo1 — Patricia Arquette (@PattyArquette) March 5, 2022 I really couldn’t give 2 shits. I’m...
Kevin Winter/Getty Images Actress Patricia Arquette argued on Friday that Russia should be expelled from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in a tweet that has since been deleted. The only issue is that Russia is not, and has never been, a NATO member. Russian President Vladimir Putin floated the idea of his country potentially joining the club two decades ago. But the country never joined NATO, and the organization has only grown stronger in recent years, as Russian aggression poses perhaps the single greatest threat to peace in Europe. The True Romance star was apparently unaware of this when she responded to a tweet from a Twitter account called “MK-ULTRA. MK-Ultra tweeted: “Staff at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine sent a message to Ukrainian media and government authorities warning that the Russian troops that took the plant are now laying down explosives around it in order to “blackmail the whole of Europe.” Staff at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine sent a message to Ukrainian media and government authorities warning that the Russian troops that took the plant are...
Left-wing Hollywood actress Patricia Arquette, star of Apple TV’s Severance, is asking Texans to vote Gov. Greg Abbott (R) out of office. But in her enthusiasm, she appears to have revealed a startling lack of knowledge with the way elections work. The Oscar-winning Boyhood actress encouraged her fans in a recent tweet to vote out Gov. Abbott “tomorrow” — referring to Tuesday’s election day in Texas. What she didn’t mention is that the election is a primary, which will only decide a party’s nominee, not the winner of the governor’s seat. Texas has an “open” primary system, which allows voters to cross party lines and cast their vote on the opposite side of the political divide. Vote @GregAbbott_TX out tomorrow. Do it for every woman who has been raped in your state. https://t.co/oHYXBNwWV4 — Patricia Arquette (@PattyArquette) February 28, 2022 Gov. Abbott leads his Republican challengers by a sizable margin according to a recent poll from The Hill/Emerson College Polling, which found that 61 percent of likely voters in Texas support Abbott’s re-election campaign in the Republican primary. Hollywood stars around the country are reacting to President Trump's latest legal defeat in his campaign's fight against the 2020 presidential election results. The Supreme Court on Friday declined to hear a case in Texas that would have essentially nullified election results in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin. “The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution,” the Supreme Court’s order reads. “Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.” Many stars reacted to the court's ruling on Friday and Saturday with gleeful remarks, but some pro-Trump celebs still stood behind the president.  SUPREME COURT DECLINES TO HEAR TRUMP-SUPPORTED TEXAS CASE OVER ELECTION RESULTS IN FOUR OTHER STATES Alyssa Milano was among the celebrities who supported the Supreme Court's ruling on Friday over the Trump-backed Texas lawsuit over election results in four states.
