A cheeky schoolboy fooled his dad into getting a puppy by impersonating his mum in WhatsApp messages - even calling him 'hun' and hilariously signing off 'just get one, the kids are crying'. Little Noah Ley, nine, from Newport, South Wales, was desperate to welcome a puppy into the family after learning his parents had discussed the possibility of getting a pal for 18-month-old cocker spaniel Jet. Kevyn Ley rang wife Janine Ley on Sunday November 6 mentioning that an eight-week-old puppy was available to rehome immediately. The dental nurse, 40, said she wanted time to think about it, but while her back was turned as she did housework, Noah swiped the phone and carried on the conversation with his oblivious dad over WhatsApp. Noah effortlessly convinced the steel worker, 43, he was continuing the chat with Janine by peppering pet names 'love' and 'hun' into the chat messages. The Supreme Court on Monday paved the way for the House's January 6th committee to obtain the phone records belonging to Arizona Republican Party chief Kelli Ward for its investigation into the origins of the insurrection. The high court rejected Ward's request to halt the turnover of records while a lawsuit proceeds. The court lifted a temporary order that had been put in place by Justice Elena Kagan that had paused anything from happening while Ward's emergency request was at the Supreme Court. The committee is seeking to discover who Ward had spoken with while trying to challenge the 2020 presidential election results. Arizona was ground zero for lawsuits and recounts after Joe Biden won the state over Donald Trump. Ward argued her First Amendment rights would be chilled if investigators were able accress her phone records. The subpoena specifically asked T-Mobile to turn over Ward's call and text message activity from November 2020 to January 2021.  Supreme Court paved the way for the House's January 6th committee to get the phone records belonging to Arizona Republican Party chief Kelli Ward (above)...

Supreme Court law clerks are being asked to turn over their personal cell phone records and sign affidavits as the search ramps up for the person who leaked the draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade. Language of the affidavits and what the scope of the cell phone search will be are not yet clear, sources familiar with the efforts told CNN – but the potential of handing over their personal devices have clerks exploring their options, including hiring outside counsel. Considering the crack down on law clerks, it's likely the court has not yet been successful in determining the source of the breach. While the move asking for personal phone records is unprecedented in the Supreme Court, so is a leak of a draft opinion that led to the investigation in the first place. On May 2, Politico published a scoop with what appeared to be a photocopy of a draft opinion from conservative Justice Samuel Alito that showed the overturn of Roe v. Wade, which would end federal protections for a woman's right to get an abortion...

Trevor Noah is going after President Joe Biden over a Wall Street Journal report stating that the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have refused to speak with the U.S. commander in chief during the Ukraine crisis. And the Daily Show host even believes that Biden’s predecessor would have had more luck getting the Saudis and the UAE to take his phone calls. In a blistering commentary on Wednesday night’s Daily Show, Noah called out the president for getting totally snubbed in his efforts to secure relief on oil prices. “Look, I know it’s hard to arrange those calls. You know, Riyadh is eight hours ahead, Biden is asleep by 4 p.m., it’s a narrow window to make it work,” Noah joked. “But still, that must have been really embarrassing for Biden. Can you imagine? He phones them and they don’t pick up?” Noah pointed out that the White House is denying the story, but said that the president’s lack of success dealing with the Saudis is inarguable. So too, in his view, is the...

Alec Baldwin has settled with a man who sued him after he allegedly beat him up in a fight over a parking spot in 2018.  Wojciech Cieszkowski sued Baldwin the following year for assault and slander claiming the actor punched him in the jaw and shoved him. Cieszkowski is said to have unwittingly taken a parking spot that Baldwin was waiting for outside his East 10th Street apartment in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. Baldwin, 63, then countersued for defamation and claimed Cieszkowski fabricated his claim about being punched when in fact he had been 'lightly pushed'. Alec Baldwin turned his phone over to police Friday morning, starting a process that will allow investigators to search for calls, text messages or other data related to his fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico set of his Western film, “Rust,” in October. Baldwin himself delivered the phone and password to the Suffolk County Police Department near his home in the Hamptons, the New York Times reported. The delivery came a month after investigators in Santa Fe County, New Mexico issued a search warrant for the phone. New Mexico authorities had issued a statement Thursday saying that Baldwin had yet to produce the device, prompting the veteran actor’s attorney to insist that he would make it available by the end of the week. Under an agreement worked out by his attorney, data on Baldwin’s phone will first be reviewed by police and prosecutors in Suffolk County, before relevant data is shared with New Mexico authorities, the New York Times reported. The search covers texts, emails, call records, voice mail messages, digital images and internet browser history...
Alec Baldwin hasn't turned over his phone a month after Santa Fe authorities got a warrant to search it in connection to the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of 'Rust,' with his lawyer now saying he will hand over the device this week. The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office laid out the steps it has taken to get a hold of Baldwin's phone on Thursday. Deputies say they got a search warrant approved on December 16 - weeks after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed when Baldwin fired a prop gun loaded with a live round while rehearsing a scene for the film at a New Mexico ranch. Deputies then reached out to the Santa Fe District Attorney's Office for assistance. On December 20, the Sheriff's Office learned that the DA was in negotiations with Baldwin's lawyer to get the cell phone, KRQE reports.  The actor was pictured walking around with his cell phone in New York City on Thursday. He has previously said that he doesn't feel guilty for Hutchins' death and that he didn't pull the trigger.   Baldwin...

Because of the media reluctance of people on Oz’s team, Nuzzi decided to try contacting the television personality directly, along with his wife, Lisa Oz. To Nuzzi’s surprise, Mrs. Oz did pick up the phone, but she hung up almost instantly. Nuzzi decided to call again to see if that was deliberate, and that led to a tense exchange between the two. Tom Holland revealed so many Marvel secrets after being cast as Spider-Man in 2016 that there were later plans put into place to prevent it from happening again. “The Russo Brothers are like, ‘So you’re just standing here, and you’re fighting this guy and just do whatever,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, who am I fighting?’ And they were like, ‘Well, we can’t tell you because it’s a secret.’ I’m like, ‘OK, so...
Missing 'van-life' girl Gabby Petito was reportedly seen hitting boyfriend Brian Laundrie in the arm during a tense argument in Utah, two weeks before she mysteriously disappeared, according to police. An incident report released by the Moab Police Department Wednesday has shed new light on the 'possible domestic violence' incident involving the couple on August 12, revealing issues had been 'building' between them over the last couple days.   According to the document, officers were called near the Moonflower Community Co-op in Moab around 4:30pm after a witness, identified only as Christopher, reported seeing the pair 'arguing over a phone.'  When Brian got into their van, the bystander saw 'what appeared to him as Gabrielle hitting Brian in the arm and then climbing through the driver's window as if Brian had locked her out and she was trying to find a way in,' responding officer Daniel Scott Robbins wrote.  Robbins later located the couple, who had already left the area by then, driving in their Ford Transit van towards Arches National Park and pulled them over. As he approached the vehicle the officer noticed Petito...
Ivy Nevares (pictured) said she received a threatening phone call from someone warning her against speaking out about NIXVM cult leader Keith Raniere's second-in-command, Nancy Salzman A sex cult victim says she received a threatening phone call three days after testifying against NIXVM cult leader Keith Raniere - warning her to keep quiet about his second-in-command at the cult, Nancy Salzman. 'Do not talk about Nancy Salzman,' the male caller reportedly told the NIXVM victim. 'I felt intimidated and, after the call, was deeply upset for days,' Nevares revealed, in a letter to the judge in Salzman's case. Salzman is accused of co-founding NIXVM with Raniere and stood as his second-in-command for 20 years.  Raniere was sentenced to 120 years in jail on October 27, 2020 for multiple charges of sex trafficking and abuse as the head of the sex cult.  Now, Salzman, who pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy, is set to be sentenced on Wednesday. She is expected to face between 33 and 41 months in prison.  Nevares and other former Nxivm members say Salman managed many of Nxivm's operations, in...
The panel on "The Five" reacted Thursday to news that President Joe Biden reportedly pressured now-former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to paint a rosier picture of the situation in Afghanistan this July than the reality on the ground. At the time of the call, the Taliban controlled about half of Afghanistan's district centers. Biden urged Ghani to hold a press conference with other prominent Afghan leaders to outline a new military strategy, which he argued would "change perception, and that will change an awful lot I think," Reuters reported. Host Dagen McDowell noted that Biden's spokeswoman, Press Secretary Jen Psaki, pushed back on demands to release the transcript of the phone call between Biden and Ghani – who fled Kabul for the United Arab Emirates, reportedly with well over $100 million in cash. In 2019, Psaki joined the chorus of Democrats calling for the then-Trump White House to release a transcript of the Republican president's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, amid claims he asked Zelensky to take a look at the foreign business dealings of Biden's son, Hunter...

THE FBI has issued warnings about a "lucrative" scam currently taking place across the US in which thieves call the elderly pretending to be a grandchild in urgent need of cash. The illicit scheme has already siphoned millions of dollars from innocent Americans, officials warn, with victims duped into handing over vast sums of cash to strangers under false pretenses. 2The illicit scheme has already siphoned millions of dollars from innocent AmericansCredit: Alamy The scammers are reportedly gaining personal information from their victims by mining social media or purchasing data from cyber thieves. They then craft elaborate storylines to prey on the fears of grandparents, such as pretending to be a relative in a crisis situation who is in need of immediate financial assistance. The callers may even "spoof" the caller ID that appears on the victim's phone to make the incoming call seem as if it's coming from a trusted source. BOGUS CLAIMS A recent victim's story was chronicled in a report from the FBI in Buffalo, New York back in May. The elderly victim was contacted...
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell went after Senate Democratic leadership for wanting former Attorneys General Bill Barr and Jeff Sessions to testify before Congress over the Trump-era Justice Department's decision to secretly go after records of Democrats and journalists.   'Late last week the Democratic leader and the Democratic whip gave in to the urge to pick at the scab of politically motivated investigations that have become their party's favorite weapon against the previous administration,' McConnell said Monday on the Senate floor.  McConnell said it 'rings completely hollow' for Democrats to be howling about the recent revelations that the DOJ tried secretly obtaining records from House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff and Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell - along with eight journalists - when 'clear abuses of power' infected the investigation into former President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign.   Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday he was against having former Attorneys General Bill Barr and Jeff Sessions testify before Congress over the DOJ's decision to secretly go after the records of top House Democrats and journalists Senate Majority Leader...
