Getty Maxx Crosby sacking Patrick Mahomes. The rivalry between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs is at heated as ever and that was evident during Monday Night Football. The Raiders got off to a quick 17-0 lead before the Chiefs came back and won 30-29. Along the way, there were plenty of heated moments. Perhaps the most notable that happened on the field was when defensive end Maxx Crosby and quarterback Patrick Mahomes walked up to each other and butted helmets while clearly having words for each other. There was no flag called on the situation as each seemed like mutual participants. Many Chiefs fans believed that Crosby should’ve been called for a penalty but it’s difficult to see how he was any more at fault than Mahomes was. The Chiefs quarterback even admitted that he was the...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby sacks Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Chiefs Kingdom has declared war on the NFL officials and they might be winning. After the latest Chris Jones penalty versus the Las Vegas Raiders — one that most fans would describe as bogus — Chiefs supporters have taken to social media to expose penalties that the referees missed. One Raiders no-call involved quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, who appeared to be head-butted and shoved after the whistle by Las Vegas pass rusher Maxx Crosby. The moment went viral after a Chiefs fan shed light on it. It currently has over 5,200 likes and almost 270,000 views. Maxx Crosby was allowed to do this with no flag but we lost a game for words? I'd love an explanation on that, but officials don't have to answer questions after these games. pic.twitter.com/c0r8AZCc4f — Kyle Henning (@kthen16) October 11, 2022 Chiefs Fans Share Video of Maxx Crosby Shoving Patrick MahomesDifferent versions of that clip quickly made rounds on Twitter and retired Kansas City Royals vice president...
Getty Chandler Jones with Malcolm Koonce and Kyler Fackrell. The clock is ticking for Chandler Jones to make some plays for the Las Vegas Raiders. Though head coach Josh McDaniels recently praised Jones for doing a lot of things that don’t stand out on the stat sheet, that excuse won’t carry water for long. The team isn’t paying the pass rusher $51 million to not get sacks. Through four games, he has yet to register a single sack. To make things worse, he only has eight quarterback pressure, per Pro Football Focus. Outside of Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, the team has not played against many good offensive lines. Jones and Maxx Crosby should be one of the most prolific duos in the NFL right now. There’s still time for Jones to turn things around but Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report has already hit him with the label of being the most disappointing player on the Raiders this season: Jones has been nearly nonexistent while lining up across from Maxx Crosby. The counting stats are bad....
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. The Las Vegas Raiders are finally in the win column after a 32-23 win over the Denver Broncos. With the team heading to Kansas City next week to face the Chiefs, they absolutely needed to get a win or could’ve risked going 0-5. The Raiders now have some momentum and have to be feeling much better about the team going forward. Unfortunately, there’s a real problem facing the team. Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium haven’t always provided a great home-field advantage. That was evident on Sunday as Broncos fans flooded the stadium. Broncos fans are pretty deep here as kickoff approaches pic.twitter.com/aWP9hxQ3Wj — Tashan Reed (@tashanreed) October 2, 2022 It’s safe to say that RingCentral Coliseum in Oakland, California, never hosted so many Broncos fans before. In the end, the abundance of rival fans didn’t stop the Raiders from winning but it’s frustrating for the players who were with the team in Oakland. Defensive end Maxx Crosby was not happy to see so many Broncos fans. “There was a lot of...
Getty Maxx Crosby & Derek Carr of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Las Vegas Raiders are a sinking ship after a Week 3 loss to the Tennessee Titans dropped their record to 0-3. The team now has the worst record in the NFL after getting a lot of hype in the offseason. Injuries have been a key factor through the first three games and the team had to list four starters inactive in Week 3. One of the biggest injuries to watch is linebacker Denzel Perryman. The 2021 Pro Bowler got hurt in Week 1 and has not played since. His absence was felt against the Titans as Derrick Henry picked up 143 total yards. While Perryman’s status remains in flux, the Raiders would be wise to bring in another veteran linebacker. The team recently hosted Blake Martinez for a visit but he left Las Vegas without a deal. If Martinez isn’t the right fit, the Raiders could look to a familiar face. Veteran linebacker Will Compton has recently hinted that a team is showing interest in him...
Getty Maxx Crosby & Chandler Jones of the Las Vegas Raiders. One of the most hyped aspects of the Las Vegas Raiders heading into the 2022 season was the pass rush. Through the first two games, the hype has quickly died down. Chandler Jones and Maxx Crosby have combined for 1.0 sacks. In fact, Crosby is the only player on the team who has a sack. That haunted the Raiders in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals as quarterback Kyler Murray ran all over the field in the second half and led the team to a come-from-behind win. Former Raiders defensive back turned analyst Bucky Brooks has not been impressed with the duo of Crosby and Jones so far, via Raiders.com: Against the Cardinals, the Raiders’ pass-rushing tandem combined for a sack and five QB hits, but could not come up with a key stop in the fourth quarter with the team nursing a 16-point lead. Perhaps the cumulative effect of chasing a “rabbit” (dual-threat quarterback) all over the field wore down the veterans, particularly with the Cardinals...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders CB Rock Ya-Sin. The Las Vegas Raiders didn’t make any splashy moves at cornerback this offseason despite being linked to a few big names. The most notable addition they made was trading Yannick Ngakoue to the Indianapolis Colts for Rock Ya-Sin. The former second-round picks figures to be one of the favorites to win a starting spot at cornerback. The fact that Trayvon Mullen is injured right now will only help his chances. The Raiders need him to be a stud if they hope to put up a fight in the AFC West. If he doesn’t succeed, it won’t be due to a lack of effort. Ya-Sin has been praised for his work ethic since joining the team. Star defensive end Maxx Crosby met Ya-Sin as they worked out together to prepare for the NFL Combine prior to the 2019 NFL Draft. They’ve maintained a relationship ever since. Crosby is thrilled to have Ya-Sin as his teammate and revealed some strong thoughts on the cornerback. “Ever since I met him, he’s always been one...
Getty Derek Carr & Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Las Vegas Raiders have finally shut down any quarterback rumors for the foreseeable future with the decision to sign Derek Carr to a three-year contract extension. It shows a major commitment to the quarterback from head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, who were both hired this offseason. Now that he’s gotten a new contract, it’s clear that Carr was a reason the two wanted to take the job openings. He isn’t the only Raiders player to get a big extension this offseason. Defensive end Maxx Crosby received his own four-year extension previously. The pass rusher made sure to send a message of congratulations to Carr. Major Bag ???????????? Getty Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Las Vegas Raiders made sweeping changes to the front office and coaching staff this offseason but even the new men in charge knew they had to take care of Maxx Crosby. The former fourth-round pick out of Eastern Michigan had a breakout year that saw him named Second-Team All-Pro. He was arguably the team’s best player last season and was headed into a contract year. Instead of the new brass taking the season to get a closer look at Crosby and seeing what to do with him later, general manager Dave Ziegler handed him a four-year extension that paid him $94 million, per Spotrac. While that made him one of the highest-paid players in the NFL on an annual basis, that doesn’t tell the whole story. Out of that $94 million, only $26.56 million was guaranteed at signing. For reference, Pittsburgh Steelers star pass rusher T.J. Watt was guaranteed $80 million at signing when he landed his new contract last year. Former NFL scout John Middlekauff was baffled at...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. The explosive days of free agency have come and gone but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few big names available. The Las Vegas Raiders had a big opening week of free agency with the additions of Chandler Jones and Davante Adams. Since the Adams trade, the team has been much quieter. They’ve mostly looked to smaller names to fill out the roster. However, they continue to get linked to big names. The player that almost every Raider fan wants to see in silver and black is safety Tyrann Mathieu. The former Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro remains a free agent. Raiders offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard have already tried to recruit him. Maxx Crosby decided to join the fray by stating that the colors on a honey badger are silver and black. Maxx Crosby has science on his side when it comes recruiting Tyrann Mathieu away from the Kansas City Chiefs and onto the Las Vegas Raiders in his free agency. Las Vegas Raiders star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby is doing his part of convincing Kansas City Chiefs superstar safety Tyrann Mathieu to turn heel in his free agency and join the dark side. Crosby and Mathieu have competed against each other for years in the AFC West. While both have become Pro Bowlers for their rival teams, Mathieu has a rare opportunity to go Rich Gannon on everyone, the anti-Marcus Allen so to speak. Crosby may already have new teammates like Chandler Jones and Davante Adams in tote, but he is going after The Honey Badger big time now. Honey badgers are Silver and Black, so it is only fate that Mathieu takes his talents to Las Vegas. Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. Over the first couple of years of his career, Maxx Crosby showed some good flashes of being a solid NFL player. His rookie season with the Las Vegas Raiders was impressive as he notched 10.0 sacks. His production fell a bit in Year 2 as he dropped to 7.0 sacks. In Year 3, he hit another level. Despite only finishing with eight sacks, Crosby led the NFL with 100 quarterback pressure, per Pro Football Focus. He was also named to the Pro Bowl and Second-Team All-Pro. He quickly went from pretty good defensive end to full-fledged star in 2021. The Raiders rewarded him handsomely with a $94 million contract and gave him an elite running mate in Chandler Jones. The former Arizona Cardinals All-Pro wasn’t thought to be an option for the Raiders heading into the offseason but signed a three-year deal with the team. Jones has long been one of the most dominant pass rushers in the NFL and now he’s joining what he believes is the premier defensive player...
Getty Former Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill. The big news of the NFL offseason has been how aggressive the teams in the AFC West have been. In an effort to catch up to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos have all made major additions. The Chiefs have won the division for six straight years and have decided to refrain from adding any big names this offseason. However, that doesn’t mean they are avoiding making big moves. Another bombshell was dropped on the NFL when it was revealed that Kansas City traded star wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for a 2022 first-round pick (No. 29), a second-round pick (No. 50) and a fourth-round pick, plus fourth and sixth-round picks in the 2023 draft. Hill has been one of the faces of the Chiefs for years and there weren’t many warning signs that this could happen. Kansas City’s loss is the Raiders’ gain. Hill has dominated the silver and black over his six years with the Chiefs. In...
The Las Vegas Raiders signed star defensive end Maxx Crosby to a four-year extension worth about $95 million in the first major personnel move made by the new regime of coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler. The Raiders locked up Crosby before he entered the final year of his rookie deal with the new contract Friday that was signed two years to the day that he became sober after dealing with alcohol abuse. Rewarding Crosby with the extension is a far different start to this regime from what happened with the Raiders four years ago when new coach Jon Gruden traded away star edge rusher Khalil Mack after being unable to agree on an extension. “Maxx Crosby exemplifies the characteristics of a Raider,” McDaniels said in a statement. “His work ethic and leadership are unmatched and we’re thrilled that he will continue to be an important part of this organization for years to come.” Crosby got a deal that pays him just below the top level of the edge rusher market, which is led by T.J. Watt, Joey...
The Las Vegas Raiders have signed defensive end Maxx Crosby to a contract extension, answering the Broncos acquisition of Russell Wilson. Crosby is a standout defensive end — one of the best in the NFL — and while his sack numbers don’t necessarily reflect that, he ranks among the game’s best in quarterback pressures, which is something the Raiders will be counting on from him in the years to come. Why is that? With Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Justin Herbert of the Las Angeles Chargers and now Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos in their own division, the Raiders need an answer of their own. That comes in the form of an extension for their best defensive lineman. RAIDER NATION!!!!! Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. The Las Vegas Raiders have a new head coach and general manager this year but it didn’t take long for them to realize the value that Maxx Crosby brings to the team. The Pro Bowl defensive end is coming off a breakout year that saw him led the NFL with 100 quarterback pressures, per Pro Football Focus. He was heading into a contract year in 2022 and the new brass knew they had to keep him around for a long time. The Raiders announced on Friday that they’ve signed Crosby to a contract extension. Getty Russell Wilson and Maxx Crosby at the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl. Things were looking good for the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday after Aaron Rodgers decided to stay put with the Green Bay Packers. The Denver Broncos were long rumored to be targeting him in a trade, which wouldn’t have been good for the silver and black. Well, something even worse may have happened. Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. There are some major changes happening to the Las Vegas Raiders coaching staff but some people are staying on. Defensive line coach Rod Marinelli could’ve had a chance to keep his job on the new staff but the team has been making changes to the defense with the hire of Patrick Graham as defensive coordinator. Marinelli is one of the most respected defensive coaches in the NFL and certainly would’ve landed a new job had he wanted to. However, it looks like the 72-year-old is ready to take it easy. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Marinelli is planning to retire. Former #Lions head coach and most recently #Raiders DL coach Rod Marinelli is planning to retire, sources say. Getty Las Vegas Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow. A big concern after the Las Vegas Raiders decided to hire Josh McDaniels over Rich Bisaccia for the head coaching job was how the players would react. Bisaccia was a beloved coach and led the team to the playoffs during a tumultuous season. However, it’s clear owner Mark Davis didn’t think the coach could turn the team into Super Bowl contenders. Also, McDaniels and other New England Patriots assistants who have become head coaches don’t have a history of getting along with players. Luckily, it doesn’t sound like the players are holding any ill will towards their new head coach. While at the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas, wide receiver Hunter Renfrow finally had a chance to talk about McDaniels. “Obviously, we love Rich, and we think he did a great job,” Renfrow said, via Tashan Reed of The Athletic. “It almost feels like you’re losing a teammate. We cared a lot about him and are very thankful for him, but you can’t hold that against McDaniels. We’re excited. We know...
Getty Rich Bisaccia with Derek Carr & Maxx Crosby. The Las Vegas Raiders have a head coach and it’s not Rich Bisaccia, who took over the job after Jon Gruden resigned and led the team to the playoffs. On Sunday, it was reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Josh McDaniels has finalized a deal to become the team’s head coach. The longtime New England Patriots coach wasn’t a popular choice by fans to take over the job so it’s easy to assume that some players may not be thrilled that he’s taking over for Bisaccia, who was universally loved by the players. After the news came out about McDaniels, many Raiders players came out and sent messages of love to the coach, including star defensive end Maxx Crosby. Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby said he would vote for Rich Bisaccia to be the team’s permanent head coach. The Las Vegas Raiders are interviewing candidates for head coach, despite the fact that Rich Bisaccia took over on an interim basis and helped lead the team to the playoffs. Quarterback Derek Carr already gave his vote of confidence to Bisaccia to be promoted as permanent head coach, and he is not alone. It felt inevitable that the Raiders would move on from general manager Mike Mayock after the team’s season ended at the hands of the Bengals Saturday, but that doesn’t mean everyone was on board. Defensive end Maxx Crosby, one of the Raiders’ leaders, said on "The Rich Eisen Show" Tuesday that it was hard to see Mayock go. Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. Something was fishy with the Las Vegas Raiders when news came out that they were requesting permission to interview general manager candidates while Mike Mayock was still employed. Soon after that news leaked, the team announced that they had decided to fire the general manager. The Raiders have had some really big misses in the draft and free agency but those could’ve been pinned on former head coach Jon Gruden, who had the final say on personnel matters before his resignation. In the end, owner Mark Davis clearly didn’t see it that way as he relieved Mayock of his duties. While Mayock and the Raiders made their fair share of boneheaded decisions, they also made some great ones. Drafting Maxx Crosby in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft was possibly the best move. GETTY Defensive lineman Nick Bosa #97 of the San Francisco 49ers battles through the block of offensive lineman D.J. Humphries #74 of the Arizona Cardinals. The 2021 NFL All-Pro team was announced on Friday and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa just missed a spot. In our initial coverage, Heavy broke down that Bosa only received five votes from the AP voters to Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby’s six. That was enough for Crosby to take the last All-Pro spot for defensive ends. However, Bosa produced 15.5 sacks to Crosby’s 8, 21 tackles for loss to Crosby’s 13 and forced four fumbles while Crosby didn’t force any, all according to the PFR numbers. While Bosa outclassed Crosby in those stats, there’s always room for debate. And when it comes to the Raiders and 49ers fanbases, clashing isn’t out of the norm, but it’s grown less frequent since the silver and black team left Oakland for Las Vegas and the “Battle for the Bay” was no longer a thing.  49ers and Raiders Fans Go Head to HeadOne...

Getty Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow. The Las Vegas Raiders are on a four-game winning streak heading into the playoffs and a big reason they’ve been winning has been due to the defense. LAS VEGAS (AP) — Maxx Crosby wasn’t popular in high school, struggled with his focus while in college at Eastern Michigan and checked himself into rehab for alcoholism after a disappointing rookie season with the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, in his third year, it’s all coming together for the 24-year-old defensive end. “I’ve been through a lot ever since I was young. I was always fighting and searching for something that wasn’t there necessarily,” Crosby told The Associated Press in an interview. His numbers show he’s come a long way. Crosby leads the NFL with 17 quarterback knockdowns, is seventh with 25 quarterback hits, and is tied for 10th with 36 quarterback pressures. Pro Football Focus grades Crosby as the second-best pass rusher in the league behind Cleveland’s Myles Garrett and ranks him second overall among edge rushers. The final score wasn’t quite indicative of how badly Las Vegas took it to Denver, as the Broncos added a cosmetic touchdown with just over a minute left in the contest. But one thing the Broncos couldn’t do was slow down Maxx Crosby. The Raiders’ defensive end teed off against Denver’s pass protection, recording 3.0 sacks, five total QB hits, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup. The Raiders tallied a total of five sacks and 17 quarterback hits on Teddy Bridgewater in the win. “I feel like we’ve been rushing really well; we just haven’t finished,” Crosby said postgame, via Vinny Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Today, we finished. We got to the quarterback consistently. I can’t say enough about...

Turner reportedly wasn’t the only player fined as a result of the incident. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Crosby was also fined $6,971 for allegedly spitting on Turner. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that “somebody spit in his face” when discussing Turner’s actions after the game and Turner repeated the allegation without naming names on Friday. “Definitely something serious to throw out there, but a serious action that took place,” Turner said, via Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It’s not something I’m too concerned about addressing again. All the parties involved know what happened. The team knows what happened. Really, with that situation, I’d just...
Getty Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. The Las Vegas Raiders are set to open the season as underdogs at home against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have recently dealt with a slew of injuries but quarterback Lamar Jackson is healthy and locked in. As long as he plays, they’re going to be a hard team to beat. He’ll provide a unique challenge to the Raiders as they won’t be seeing another quarterback like him this season. If the silver and black can figure out how to slow him down, they’re going to have a strong shot at winning. If he runs all over them, then Las Vegas could be in for a rough night. Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby is going to be an important part of the team’s plan to contain him. He revealed his thoughts on the quarterback ahead of the matchup. “Lamar Jackson is a freak, freak athlete, he’s a great playmaker for a reason, but he’s who we got to play this week so we got a great game plan, the coaches have done...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. For the first time in a long time, the Las Vegas Raiders’ defensive line is showing some promise. The team added Yannick Ngakoue this offseason and just signed six-time Pro Bowler Gerald McCoy. The group has a chance to be very good this year if they can put everything together. One player who should benefit greatly from the extra talent on the defensive line is Maxx Crosby. He got off to an impressive start during his rookie season and notched 10 sacks. He fell off a bit last season and only had seven. With a lot of focus going from him to Ngakoue, Crosby could be in for a huge year. He thinks the defensive line is much improved but believes they still have a lot to prove. “I’m fired up about the room,” Crosby said last week. “We have a lot of potential, but I’m sick of saying that word. I hear it every single year. I’m just ready to go out there Sundays and play at a very high...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Yannick Ngakoue. For the first time since they traded Khalil Mack, the Las Vegas Raiders have a proven stud pass rusher with Yannick Ngakoue. Through his five NFL seasons, he’s never had less than eight sacks and even reached 12 back in 2017. He will be a major difference-maker for a defense that has struggled for years. Ngakoue’s presence should also help the other Raiders defensive linemen, especially Maxx Crosby, who has been the team’s most dependable pass rusher over the last two seasons. In fact, Ngakoue believes that Crosby and he will surprise a lot of people. “I think that Maxx and myself are the best duo that’s going to come hit the scene,” Ngakoue said after Wednesday’s minicamp. “I’m already putting that out there.” While it may be hyperbolic to suggest that Crosby and Ngakoue are going to form the NFL’s best pass-rushing duo, they could be dynamic. Over the last two seasons, the two have combined for 33 sacks. Plus, Crosby has been working very hard this offseason. “Maxx is...
Getty Maxx Crosby with Johnathan Abram. It’s been a long time since the Las Vegas Raiders fielded a great defense. The franchise hasn’t always been known for defensive prowess but they have had some of the greatest defenders in NFL history don the silver and black. Even when the team has had bad defenses, they’ve had one or two elite players to pick up the slack. That hasn’t been the case over the last few years. Khalil Mack was supposed to be the future of the Raiders’ defense but he was traded before Jon Gruden got a chance to coach him. The team is desperate to have a better defense. Having a bad defense held the team back from getting to the playoffs last season. Maxx Crosby has a chance to be a difference-maker for the Raiders for a long time. He sent a stern message to the defense while talking about the team’s offseason. “They’re putting a lot on us mentally so we can learn on the fly and get everything in, because on game day, you’re...
Getty Derek Carr of the Las Vegas Raiders. While Derek Carr isn’t really known for his ability to make plays with his feet, he’s actually one of the more athletic quarterbacks in the NFL. He ran a 4.65 40-yard dash when he participated in the combine and is always in peak physical condition. Recently, he’s set out to show off his jumping ability. Carr and Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby have got into some jumping matches at practice, which has led to some debate. Who's got the best leaps? Carr or Crosby? You decide.#Raiders #RaiderNation pic.twitter.com/DQYoBRMe0u — Heidi Fang (@HeidiFang) June 2, 2021 Carr believes he won the match but Crosby contends that he has the better vertical. Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. A debate started on Monday concerning which NFL players are the best at basketball after NFL Total Access revealed what their starting lineup would look like. After one of the Raiders’ numerous double-digit losing seasons, I ran into Norv Turner, fired as head coach by Al Davis a few months before, at the NFL scouting combine. Ruminating on all that went wrong, Turner didn’t duck responsibility or blame Davis but noted at one point, “the only player who had a good year was Derrick Burgess.” Setting aside the fact that putting players in position to have good years is a big part of being a head coach, Turner was right in the sense that each player is responsible to himself for making the best of any situation. And the Raiders had plenty of key players who didn’t have the years they expected in 2020 — probably more than you’d expect from a team that finished 8-8. You can’t replace everyone on the roster. So it’s up to those players (as well as coaches to put them in position) to overcome whatever arose from injuries, and assorted COVID-19-related issues that cut into an offseason and training camp to rebound in 2021. If...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. It’s clear that the Las Vegas Raiders have some leadership issues. Two seasons in a row, the team has collapsed after 10 games and missed the playoffs. Obviously, the team has enough talent to win against some of the best in the NFL. However, the late-season collapses are very concerning. It appears that part of the reason the Raiders have fallen apart is due to a lack of leadership. Reports recently dropped that Nelson Agholor went after the team following the Week 16 loss to the Miami Dolphins. That whole situation shows that Las Vegas needs more strong leaders on the team. While it probably didn’t feel good for players to get called out by Agholor, Maxx Crosby recently shed more light on the situation. “It was in the heat of the moment,” Crosby said, per Vic Tafur of The Athletic. “Nelly didn’t say ‘these guys suck,’ it was more of a ‘we’ thing and him being a leader and showing his passion for the game. He’s been on a Super Bowl...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. During the 2019 season, Maxx Crosby became one of the most exciting rookies in the NFL. The Las Vegas Raiders fourth-round pick finished the year with 10 sacks and was second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. 2020 was a completely different story. The year didn’t get off to a bad start. Crosby had six sacks in the Raiders’ first nine games. However, he was almost shutout in the last seven games of the season as he only got one more sack. He still led the team with his seven total sacks but didn’t take a leap in year two like many were hoping. While fans were disappointed with Crosby’s output, it’s now become clear why he struggled. He revealed on Wednesday night that he was dealing with numerous injuries all season, including a labrum tear and a broken metal plate in his hand. 16 games. 16 starts. 180+ Labrum tear & broken metal plate in my hand. Couldn’t be done without the support of my teammates & the @Raiders....
Getty Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce. The Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs already have plenty of reasons to not like each other but they just keep adding to the list. They’ve been rivals since the 60s and they’ve played each other well over 100 times. While Kansas City has dominated the rivalry as of late, the Raiders picked up a massive win against them earlier in the season. It was only their third win over the team since 2012. The Chiefs will now get a chance to have their revenge this Sunday. After the Raiders’ recent win versus the team, they apparently took a “victory lap” around the stadium. That didn’t sit well with Kansas City as they’ve been bringing it up every chance they get. Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce talked about the recent loss to the Raiders and threw some shade in the process. “A lot of people care about this game. Like it is their Super Bowl,” Kelce said on ESPN’s Speak For Yourself. “I’m not gonna say that on a...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. It almost looked like the Las Vegas Raiders had taken a big step after a good start to the season but the wheels are starting to fall off. They’ve had back-to-back ugly losses and their defense looks like one of the worst in the league. A big problem the defense is having is that they can’t get to opposing quarterbacks. There is young and veteran talent all over the squad but they’re having a hard time. The Raiders fan base was on Cloud 9 after a big Monday Night Football win over the New Orleans Saints. That excitement has quickly turned into dread for a fan base that has seen way too many losing seasons over the last two decades. While things look bad right now, defensive end Maxx Crosby sent a strong message ensuring the fans that they’ll turn things around. You’re Either With Us Or Against Us… No In-between. We Will Be Right Back???????? — MaddMaxx (@CrosbyMaxx) October 5, 2020 The Raiders started off 3-4 last year and...
Maxx Crosby would rather focus on building on his impressive rookie season than his recent bout with the coronavirus. The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end spent nine days in quarantine on the reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus, but returned to the practice field over the weekend and took part on the first day of padded practice on Monday. “I feel fine, I’m perfectly fine,” he said. “They’re working with me, I’m getting back. I would love to talk about football. But I’m doing well though. I appreciate you all, I’m doing well. I’m all good.” The same might not be able to be said for a palm tree in his backyard. The training staff sent some weights over so Crosby could work out while away from the team. But defensive line coach Rod Marinelli wanted him to work on his technique as well so Crosby had to get resourceful. “I don’t know if you can see, but my hands, I had splinters,” he said. “All I had was a palm tree in my backyard, so...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. Maxx Crosby is a workhorse. The Las Vegas Raiders had to send him home for a while after he tested positive for COVID-19 but not even that could stop him from putting in work. However, Crosby has only recently moved to Las Vegas and doesn’t have a lot of workout equipment at his new house. He revealed that he resorted to using palm trees as a way to workout. “I was stuck at home and I didn’t have bags or anything like that,” Crosby said Monday. “Shoutout to the training staff, they brought me weights and stuff like that, but all I had was a palm tree in my backyard. I was sending them videos every day of me working and literally doing hand workouts on a palm tree. I was messing my hands up. It was funny. They gave me some grief about it and made fun of me, but I was trying to get as much work in as I could because it wasn’t easy.” Smacking around palm trees...
While the scientific community is split on whether plants can feel pain, there’s a palm tree in Las Vegas that is relieved that Maxx Crosby is back at work. Crosby, a second-year defensive end for the Raiders, came off the COVID-19 reserve list Sunday after nine days in quarantine, during which time he tried to remain sharp by doing drillwork on a palm tree in his backyard. “I have splinters on my hands,” Crosby said Tuesday in a Zoom conference call following the Raiders’ first padded practice of training camp in Henderson, Nev. “I was stuck at home and I didn’t have bags or anything like that. The training staff brought me some weights. But all I had was a palm tree in my backyard so I was sending them videos of me every day working and doing hand work on a palm tree. I was messing my hands up. “It was funny. They gave some grief about it and made fun of me, but I was trying to get as much work in as I could.” Crosby declined to...
By The Associated Press The Latest on the effects of the coronavirus outbreak on sports around the world: ___ The Las Vegas Raiders have taken edge rusher Maxx Crosby off the reserve/COVID-19 list. Crosby was placed on the list last week. The list was created for players who either test positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with an infected person. He was removed on Friday and took part in his first practice. Crosby is being counted on to contribute much more after recording 10 sacks as a rookie. He is slated to be a starting defensive end and is the top pass rusher on a team that has struggled to generate consistent pressure in recent years. ___ The ASUN Conference says it is postponing all fall sports because of the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement from the ASUN’s Presidents’ Council on Friday also says that providing a spring season for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball is a priority. “We’re not in the position today to guarantee it will happen, but we can...
