GOP Rep. Andy Biggs said Wednesday he is 'dismayed' by Vice President Kamala Harris for visiting South Korea's border with North Korea before visiting the U.S.-Mexico border as a record number of migrants cross into the nation.  'Going back to the border [for Harris] would be sitting in a restaurant in El Paso,' the Arizona congressman quipped in an interview with DailyMail.com.  Biggs said that he had personally invited White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to visit the southern border with him.  'I've actually invited various Democrats - I've invited Ms. Jean-Pierre to come back down to the border with me because I go down so often.'  'I'm not saying the Korean Peninsula is not important but I would say that our own border is really much more important right now. And that's a real crises that we have,' he added.  GOP Rep. An American woman whose SUV fatally struck a British teen on his motorcycle in early October 2019 will finally face justice in England—at least virtually. Anne Sacoolas, 45, fled the United Kingdom after driving her SUV on the wrong side of a British two-lane highway, killing 18-year-old Harry Dunn, who was on his motorcycle. Sacoolas, who is the wife of an American diplomat, had her 12-year-old son in the car at the time and had just left the Royal Air Force base in Croughton where her husband was stationed. Sacoolas was also a former employee of the U.S. military and several reports have suggested both Sacoolas and her husband were involved in intelligence work. A recent book by former prosecutor Geoffrey Berman revealed that the Sacoolas case became intertwined with the U.S. request to interview Prince Andrew over his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. He wrote that William Barr told him that his request to interview the prince became a “sort of a chit in a dispute with the British involving a U.S. diplomat’s wife who had...
A recent VICE news package ended on an awkward note after the subject of the investigation sent a lewd photo to one of the show’s producers. On Sept. 18, VICE premiered their video, Why Some Sex Offenders Never Get Out Of Prison. The piece largely focused on the controversial practice of “dead-time – where sex offenders stay in prison for years beyond their sentence, simply because there is no where else for them to go.” VICE News reporter Alice Hines hosted the special and interviewed a convicted sex offender, identified as Aishef, to discuss his experience with dead-time. Earlier in the interview, Aishef says that he was found guilty of criminal sexual assault and served extra time in jail because there wasn’t an adequate program available to help him transfer out of jail. Later in the interview Hines gave an update on the progress Aishef has made since getting out of jail. He was able to secure a job washing dishes at a Michelin Star restaurant and acquire housing. “Are you hopeful for your future?” Hines...

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner interviewed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Tuesday morning for several minutes, focusing the conservation solely on immigration and the consistent surge of migrants at the southern American border. One subject that never came up, however, was the viral news story in which Paxton fled his home less than 24 hours earlier to avoid being served with a subpoena. With her morning news program The Faulkner Focus dedicating much of its time on Tuesday to “America’s Border Crisis,” the veteran Fox anchor brought on both Paxton and Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich—another Republican immigration hardliner—to predictably blast the White House’s immigration and border policies. Bookending the interview with footage from her “exclusive” reporting at the border, Faulkner kicked off the segment by asking Paxton the following question: “Is Texas doing the work, the governing, on this issue that the federal government is not doing?” Paxton, meanwhile, took that ball and ran with it—and tossed in some “Great Replacement” theorizing to boot. Saying that the surge of migrants at the border is a “planned disaster by...
During his introduction of CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour as a guest on The Daily Show Monday night, host Trevor Noah joked that when Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi abruptly canceled a planned interview with her last week, he “left her looking like she was giving therapy to a ghost.” Speaking from her home in London, Amanpour broke down why she ultimately decided to walk away from the coveted interview instead of wearing a headscarf as the president’s staff were demanding. She explained that she has always had the first international sit-down with the latest Iranian president, but never before had she been asked to cover her hair on American soil. “There is no law in the United States that requires a journalist to wear a scarf for any interview,” she said matter-of-factly. When the aide first approached her to say that Raisi wanted her to wear a scarf, Amanpour said her first reaction was, “Why?” followed quickly by, “No, I don’t have to wear a scarf.” “As a journalist, I made, instantaneously, a journalistic decision,” she continued, snapping her fingers,...

The hijab demand came on Friday from the squad’s security team just hours before Iran played Uruguay in a friendly, winning 1-0. Public protests have been taking place in Iran after police allegedly beat a woman to death for wearing a headscarf wrong. Legal experts on Wednesday rejected former President Donald Trump's claim that he could declassify secret national security documents with his mind. Trump in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity made a series of claims entirely untethered from reality while defending himself amid an FBI criminal investigation into classified documents seized from his Mar-a-Lago residence. Trump suggested that last month's FBI search of the property may have actually been in search of Hillary Clinton's deleted emails. "There's also a lot of speculation, because of what they did, the severity of the FBI coming in, raiding Mar-a-Lago, were they looking for the Hillary Clinton emails that were deleted — but they are around someplace," Trump said. "Wait, you're not saying you had it?" Hannity interjected. "No, no, they may be saying — they may have thought that it was in there," Trump replied. "And a lot of people said that the only thing that would give the kind of severity that they showed by actually coming in and raiding with many, many people is the Hillary Clinton deal, the Russia...
Kari Lake, Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial nominee, blasted her opponent Katie Hobbs for walking away from an interview questioning why she refused to debate Lake. “The world is not an easy place, and if she can’t stand up and debate me, then she can’t stand up against the cartels, she can’t stand up against the forces that are working against the people of Arizona. She needs to show that she has courage and get on that stage,” Lake said in a press release. Lake added that the invitation to debate is still open for Hobbs to accept. Hobbs now has until October 12, when the debate is scheduled to air to join the event. “If you choose to find courage to debate me, I’m happy to debate you,” Lake said, concluding her statement. A reporter from Yellow Sheet Report initiated the informal interview in question. In the interview, Hobbs appeared to blame others for her absence from the debate stage. “She [Lake] made the Republican primary debate a spectacle, and it doesn’t help anyone to be in the middle of that...
"I politely declined. We are in New York, where there is no law or tradition regarding headscarves. I pointed out that no previous Iranian president has required this when I have interviewed them outside Iran," Amanpour continued. "The aide made it clear that the interview would not happen if I did not wear a headscarf. He said it was 'a matter of respect,' and referred to 'the situation in Iran' - alluding to the protests sweeping the country," she noted. "Again, I said that I couldn't agree to this unprecedented and unexpected condition," Amanpour noted. "And so we walked away. The interview didn't happen. As protests continue in Iran and people are being killed, it would have been an important moment to speak with President Raisi," she concluded. \u201cAnd so we walked away. The House select committee investigating January 6, 2021, has come to an agreement with Ginni Thomas, the conservative activist and wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, to be interviewed by the panel in the coming weeks, according to a source close to the committee. Ginni Thomas’ attorney, Mark Paoletta, confirmed the voluntary interview in a statement, saying, “As she has said from the outset, Mrs. Thomas is eager to answer the Committee’s questions to clear up any misconceptions about her work relating to the 2020 election. ]She looks forward to that opportunity.” Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, who chairs the panel, told CNN on Thursday the committee does not yet have the interview with Thomas scheduled. Members of the panel have long said they are interested in speaking with Thomas, particularly after CNN first reported text messages she exchanged with then-Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows prior to January 6 about overturning the election. But in the months since those messages emerged, there has been little indication that compelling her to testify was a top priority...
CNN's Christiane Amanpour canceled an interview with the Iranian president after he asked her to wear a headscarf amid the civil unrest in Tehran.  The Chief International Anchor, 64, was set to interview President Ebrahim Raisi, 61, at the United Nations in New York on Wednesday when he demanded she wear a headscarf at the last minute.  Amanpour - who is Iranian and grew up in Tehran - declined the request, writing on her Instagram: 'We are in New York, where there is no law or tradition regarding headscarves. I pointed out that no previous Iranian president has required this when I have interviewed them outside Iran.'  When she interviewed former President Hassan Rouhani, she did not wear a headscarf either. However, the journalist does wear one while reporting inside Iran, because 'otherwise you couldn’t operate as a journalist,' she told CNN's New Day.  All women, including tourists, have had to wear a headscarf in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.  CNN's Christiane Amanpour, 64, canceled an interview with the Iranian president after he asked her to wear a headscarf amidst...
CNN’s Christiane Amanpour went into detail about how Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi canceled an interview he was supposed to have with her when she refused his team’s demand that she wear a headscarf. Amanpour joined New Day on Thursday to talk about the riots raging across Iran after Mahsa Amini’s death in police custody last week. Amini was arrested by Tehran’s morality police on charges of violating Iranian law requiring women to wear headscarves. While officials say that she died as a result of a heart attack, the government’s claim has been met with broad public skepticism, and mass protests have broken out against Iran’s authoritarianism and oppression of women. As Amanpour discussed the intensifying outrage with her CNN colleagues, the discussion turned to an interview she was slated to have with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi while he was in New York for the United Nations General Assembly. Explaining all of the preparations that went into the interview, Amanpour said that after 40 minutes of waiting for Raisi to show up, one of his aides asked her to put on...
Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has agreed to an interview with the January 6 Committee for their ongoing investigation into the storming of the U.S. Capitol. Mark Paoletta, the attorney representing Mrs. Thomas, confirmed to CNN that the interview will happen. The January 6 Committee has been interested in speaking with Thomas about her conservative activism for some time. The interview’s confirmation comes as the Committee just announced it will resume hearings on September 28. “As she has said from the outset, Mrs. Thomas is eager to answer the Committee’s questions to clear up any misconceptions about her work relating to the 2020 election,” Paoletta told CNN. “She looks forward to that opportunity.” For months, Mrs. Thomas has been under scrutiny by the media for her potential involvement in former President Donald Trump’s attempts to overthrow his 2020 election defeat. Reporting on Thomas has shown that she tried to have officials throw out the election results in multiple states, pushed QAnon conspiracy theories to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, was in contact...
Kanye West said social media could be used for harm or good in his first interview since his unhinged Instagram tirade against ex-wife Kim Kardashian last month, where he claimed she controlled their children's lives and likened himself to a sperm donor.  The rapper - who now goes by the name Ye - was interviewed by ABC News' Live Prime anchor Linsey Davis. A portion of the interview aired on Good Morning America on Thursday, but the full sit-down will air tonight at 8.30pm.  The 45-year-old was asked first whether he believes social media is of hurtful or beneficial to him.  Smiling, he replied: 'That's one of my favorite questions of this interview.  'I mean, we can use a car to rush somebody to the hospital or we can use a car and accidentally hit somebody while we're rushing somebody to the hospital. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday that President Joe Biden didn't mean the pandemic is 'over' when he said just that during the 60 Minutes interview that aired Sunday.  'So just to step back for a second, what we saw during that interview, 60 Minutes interview, when he made those comments, he was walking through the Detroit car show, the halls of the Detroit car show, and he was looking around,' she explained on Morning Joe. Comments made by Dr. Anthony Fauci at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic have been outlined in a new book written by a former White House official. Brian Morgenstern, a former White House deputy press secretary, discusses statements he overheard Fauci making in his book, 'Vignettes & Vino.'  Morgenstern refers to Fauci as 'awful' and an 'egomaniac' while recalling moments when the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases mocked pandemic restrictions he proposed. 'I vividly recall my blood boiling during an infuriating meeting in the Roosevelt Room of the White House when Fauci laughed about his own goggles comment, making it clear how cynical he was and the he could get people to believe anything,' Morgenstern wrote. 'He went on to laugh about how 'a**-backwards' it was that people entered a restaurant wearing a mask, then sat down and conversed with people without a mask. 'Of course, he wasn't saying things to that effect publicly, just laughing privately at the American rubes he was fooling.' Former White House deputy press secretary Brian Morgenstern (pictured) will release...
A biographer of Queen Elizabeth II has slammed her funeral as a 'façade' and called on the royal family to 'atone' for a history of slavery and colonisation. Clive Irving took aim at the monarchy at the moment the Queen's coffin was being taken to Windsor Castle yesterday in her emotional funeral procession as grief-stricken Britons came together to pay their respects. The reporter, who questioned the longevity of the royal family in his 2021 book, The Last Queen, said the Crown was 'responsible' for the worst excesses of the British Empire. He also blasted new heir to the throne Prince William for his 'misjudged' tour of the Caribbean earlier this year, which was met with protests and demands for slavery reparations and a renewed debate about the legacy of empire.  Mr Irving told MSNBC about the funeral pageantry: 'A lot of this seems to be façade, it's almost like a Potemkin village exercise. 'There's all this regal display of something that, as one of your guests said earlier, nobody does it better than the British, but you always have to ask what lies...
JOB interviews can be daunting - for both prospective employees and employers alike. Actor Jon Voight broke down in tears while interviewing Donald Trump and discussing a story in which the ex-president offered to pay for cancer treatments for a golf course employee. The former president said very few words himself during the 20-minute segment as the actor opined about what he believes were Trump's successes in office and thanked him for building golf courses. It prompted Trump to smirk after the interview, 'I didn't have to do too much talking.' And an emotional Voight told Trump in a bizarre ending, 'I hope it's worthy of you.' But what moved him to tears was the recollection of a story Voight said he had been told at one of Trump's many golf courses about a woman who worked there named 'Sally' who Trump apparently knew was going through cancer treatment. 'You went in and said yeah, "She's -have her come see me," and you went to one of the offices, and she came in, and you said, "I hear you having a little bit of a difficulty." And she said "Well, I have some...
President Joe Biden declared the covid-19 pandemic is 'over' in a statement that took officials in his administration by surprise and led to questions about why the government continues to enforce federal mandates and seek more funding to fight the disease. Biden's statement, made during an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes that aired on Sunday night, came as a surprise to administration officials, two senior health officials told The Washington Post. And his seemly off-the-cuff comment may have torpedoed his request to Congress for $22.4 billion in funds to fight the pandemic. Republicans were already wary about supporting the funding and Biden's declaration didn't win him any support.   'The pandemic is over,' Biden told CBS News. 'We still have a problem with COVID. We're still doing a lot of work on it. But the pandemic is over. If you notice, no one's wearing masks. Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape, and so I think it's changing.'  Earlier this summer, the U.S. renewed its order designating covid a national emergency. The designation was set to expire in October. It...
Donald Trump complained that FBI agents didn't remove their shoes when conducting a search of his Mar-a-Lago estate and said his Florida residence will 'never be the same'. The former president revealed shortly after the raid on August 8 that agents 'rummaged' through his wife Melania's closet and said earlier this month that they also did 'a deep and ugly search' of his 16-year-old son Barron's bedroom. Coming back to his Florida home Sunday evening, Trump said the changes were noticeable from nearly two months prior when it was searched by approximately 30 FBI agents. 'Arrived in Florida last night and had a long and detailed chance to check out the scene of yet another government 'crime,' the FBI's Raid and Break-In of my home, Mar-a-Lago,' Trump posted to his social media site Truth Social. 'I guess they don't think there is a Fourth Amendment anymore, and to them, there isn't.' 'In any event, after what they have done, the place will never be the same,' he lamented. 'It was 'ransacked,' and in far different condition than the way I...
A Las Vegas Democratic official who was charged with murdering a reporter who exposed his affair refused to discuss the case in a jailhouse interview and claimed he lives his life to do 'good for others.'  Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, 45, has been accused of killing Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter Jeff German, 69, earlier this month.  In a new jailhouse interview with the newspaper, Telles refused to answer any questions about the German case as it is still being investigated.  However, he insisted he has 'certainly made mistakes' in his past.  'I’ve just really try to do my best, to live my life doing good for others, and I’m hoping that, again, with everything that’s rolling around in the media these days, that people really see that,' he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal from inside the walls of the Clark County Detention Center.  Despite his inability to discuss the case, Telles was arrested on September 7 after DNA evidence found under German's fingernails allegedly matched the public official's.  German was found stabbed to death outside his home on...

The queen, who was the longest-reigning monarch in British history, passed away at the age of 96 after more than 70 years on the throne. Erin Andrews has revealed her taxi driver fell asleep behind the wheel on a Chicago highway and was snoring - all while she was on a Zoom call which included Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Andrews was headed to Green Bay for a sit-down interview with Rodgers and was on a call with the 38-year-old and some of her Fox Sports colleagues when she heard the driver firing out some zeds. CNN When Chris Licht took over CNN earlier this year, he pledged to lower the volume at a network that, under former boss Jeff Zucker, had made itself a main character in the Trump show. As part of that mandate, Licht has encouraged less polarizing, more non-partisan coverage. Few embody that vision better than Kate Bolduan, the anchor of CNN’s 11 a.m. program At This Hour. Bolduan was a Zucker addition. She joined CNN 15 years ago, at the young age of 24, and within five years she was named co-host of New Day, Zucker’s effort to make CNN competitive in morning news. At the time she was the youngest host of a morning show on television. In the years since, Bolduan interviewed President Barack Obama, covered midterm and presidential elections, and reported from war zones including Afghanistan. I spoke with Bolduan for this week’s episode of The Interview. Our conversation came before CNN announced its new morning show this week. Bolduan has made a name for herself as a tough interrogator of both Democrats and Republicans, a quality...
The Georgia prosecutor looking into former President Donald Trump and his allies' efforts to overturn the 2020 election in her state indicated that the probe is unearthing serious crimes.  'The allegations are very serious. If indicted and convicted, people are facing prison sentences,' Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis said in an interview with The Washington Post published Thursday.  The interview shed new light on the probe's timeline, with Willis saying it would be paused in the run-up to the November election and interviews with witnesses would be wrapped up by the end of the year.  'I didn't want people to claim that this was some political stunt that we were doing to impact the election,' said Willis, a Democrat, the DA for Georgia's most populous county. Fani T. Willis told The Washington Post Thursday, 'The allegations are very serious. The former top prosecutor in New York has accused the Palace and British establishment of 'protecting' Prince Andrew from his investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. In a bombshell memoir published days before the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, Geoffrey Berman said he got 'absolutely nowhere' with his efforts to bring her favorite son to justice over his links to the pedophile financier. Berman, the former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, writes that Andrew's lawyers brushed off his requests for an interview by saying they would 'consider it.' He claims that even Scotland Yard did not help when he formally requested assistance in relation to the Duke, though they were normally very cooperative. Berman's conclusion was that 'someone' was rebuffing his efforts to save Andrew from having to answer questions about allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old Epstein victim. But this media blitz, which also included lobbing criticisms at her husband’s family and veiled threats in The Cut profile to dish more dirt on royal life, came to an immediate halt with the news Thursday of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Not long after Jason Collins came out publicly in 2013, becoming the first openly gay player in the NBA, he received a call from an unlikely voice of support. Tim Hardaway was on the other line. “I was just surprised. I didn’t know he was going to call me. And I think that was intentional. He didn’t want to get publicity,” Collins said in an interview with the Daily News. The call came about six years after the point guard’s homophobic and hateful comments in a radio interview. Hardaway’s words were over the top in their vitriol – “I hate gay people … I don’t want to be around them … It shouldn’t be in our world” – and became yet another reason for gay athletes to keep their sexuality a secret. Hardaway, now a scout with the Knicks, felt immediate and prolonged backlash. He was banned from All-Star weekend that year by then-commissioner David Stern. Nearly 20 years after his retirement as a player, Hardaway alleged that “some organizations” don’t want to give him job opportunities. As recently as...

President Joe Biden is happy to talk to reporters, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday, despite his historically light interview schedule and the fact that he has no sit-down interviews on his calendar. A reporter pushed the issue during the afternoon press briefing, acknowledging the Biden administration has "gotten a lot done this summer" before asking why Biden hasn't done an interview in so long. BIDEN INTERVIEW DROUGHT CONTINUES DESPITE REPORTS OF MESSAGING FRUSTRATION "Is he dodging us?" asked the reporter, RealClearPolitics correspondent Philip Wegmann. Jean-Pierre defended Biden's record and said he enjoys talking to the press. "The president loves talking to you all. He takes your questions all the time," she said while smiling and laughing. "He took [Fox News reporter] Peter [Doocy]'s question last Friday. I'm sure Peter was excited about that." Wegmann protested that a sit-down interview is much different than taking a single question from a reporter. "I hear you," Jean-Pierre said. "The president is happy to talk to you all, and he does it multiple...
Republican nominee for governor of Minnesota Scott Jensen released an awkward ad this week in which he holds a baby and does a full reversal on his position on abortion rights in the state. “I have delivered over 500 babies in my career. Abortion is divisive and Tim Walz is weaponizing the issue in Minnesota,” Jensen begins saying in the ad, taking aim at his opponent. “It’s a protected constitutional right and no governor can change that. And I’m not running to do that. I’m running because we need safe streets, excellent schools, parental rights and more money in the family budget. That’s what I’ll fight for. Let’s focus on the issues that matter,” Jensen concluded. I am officially obsessed with Scott Jensen’s train wreck of a campaign for Minnesota Governor. He has nearly no money, and this is the ad he just went up with. Being catapulted into public life and national headlines has brought Democratic Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a world of hate, she told GQ in a cover story published on Wednesday. The fiery socialist gets the full glossy treatment, posing for pictures on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in a glamorous black gown. But she uses the interview to reveal that she drives the short distance to Congress ever since a mob of Trump supporters stormed the building, and to describe the misogyny facing successful women of color. Such is the hatred, she said, that she even fears making plans for the future. 'I hold two contradictory things [in mind] at the same time. One is just the relentless belief that anything is possible,' said Ocasio-Cortez, 32. 'But at the same time, my experience here has given me a front-row seat to how deeply and unconsciously, as well as consciously, so many people in this country hate women. 'And they hate women of color. 'People ask me questions about the future. And realistically, I can't even tell you if I'm going to...
