(CNN)Suspended Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving reportedly met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver on Tuesday, according to multiple reports, including one from the Athletic's Shams Charania, citing unnamed sources. According to Charania, Silver and Irving met and had "a productive and understanding visit," as Irving and the Nets work toward his return to the court. CNN has reached out to the NBA, the Nets and Irving's representatives but has not heard back. Irving was suspended a minimum of five games without pay by the Nets last week, after posting a Twitter link to a documentary containing antisemitic messages, and his initial refusal to issue an apology. He missed his fourth game Wednesday night -- a 112-85 Nets blowout of their crosstown rivals, the New York Knicks. The 58-year-old could only muster a paltry 1.96 points per game out of the 67 matches he was in charge of since taking over last August. Koemans's shocking ratio includes 40 wins,...
Allen Iverson. Howard Earl Simmons/NY Daily News Archive/Getty Images Former 76ers GM Billy King said Allen Iverson would score nearly 40 points per game today. King cited defensive rule changes and increased free throws for why Iverson would score more. Many in the NBA believe former players would score more today because of rule and style changes. Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. Allen Iverson led the NBA in scoring four times and is 25th all-time in points scored, but he might have put up even more impressive numbers if he played today. Former Philadelphia 76ers GM Billy King said on the "Audacy NBA Show" that he believes Iverson could "easily" score close to 40 points per game if he played today. "With these rules, he would have been easily close to 40 points, because he would have gotten to the foul line even more," King said, adding: "Allen, for sure, would have easily averaged close to 40 points." In the NBA today, defenders aren't allowed to "hand check," or place their forearms on offensive players to...
Since the 2020 offseason, rumors have been continuously swirling around veteran small forward DeMar DeRozan and his future with the San Antonio Spurs. As of now, the Spurs are yet to make DeRozan available on the trading block but with his contract expiring after the 2020-21 NBA season, most people believe that it would be best for them to move him before the 2021 trade deadline than take the risk of losing him in the 2021 free agency without getting anything in return. One of the teams that could express a strong interest in acquiring DeRozan this season is the Utah Jazz. The Jazz may be currently sitting in the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference, but there are still plenty of things that they should improve on their roster in order to have a better chance of reaching the NBA Finals and capturing the Larry O’Brien Trophy. These include their isolation scoring. To address one of their biggest weaknesses, Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report suggested that the Jazz could send a package centered on Bojan Bogdanovic to the...
Getty Kawhi Leonard guarding Bradley Beal. After a disastrous end to last season, the Los Angeles Clippers have come out swinging to start this season. They beat the Lakers in the first game and are now only one game behind the Utah Jazz for the top seed in the Western Conference. Whatever new head coach Ty Lue is doing appears to be working well. However, it’s hard to forget about last year’s playoff collapse. The roster is mostly the same outside of the minor additions of Serge Ibaka and Luke Kennard. Though it’s possible the Clippers finish with a better regular-season record than the Lakers, it’s still hard to imagine them beating the Los Angeles rivals in a seven-game playoff series. If the team also believe they can’t beat the Lakers, they may need to look at upgrading their roster. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes that a trade for Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal could help get the Clippers over the hump. “They (the Clippers) ain’t beating no damn Los Angeles Lakers,” Smith said on  ESPN’s First Take....
