Police said that the victims “described exiting their hotel room when they were 'rushed' by an unknown subject who pointed a gun at them, struck one of them in the head with the gun, and forced them back into their room.” Once in the room, the wanted man continued to hold the three at gunpoint and forced them to sit on the hotel bed, according to investigators. A white bus driver has been fired and charged with battery after mobile phone footage emerged of him pushing two young black siblings to the back of the bus.  James O'Neil, a bus driver for the Morgan Country Charter School System in Georgia, was arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery Friday, September 16. Nequania Carter, the mother of the two children, aged 6 and 10, claimed the same bus driver had harassed her children in the past and implied the incident was racially motivated. However, despite studying three separate video clips of the incident including the bus security camera, investigators were not able to clearly establish whether the assault was racist in nature and so O'Neil was only charged with simple battery. Carter said her children were traumatized after the incident and had since been removed from the school system all together.  School bus driver James O'Neil has been fired and charged with simple battery after being filmed shoving two young siblings aged six and ten and ordering them to sit at the back of the bus James...
A United Airlines jet had to make an emergency landing last night after a shower of sparks flew off and debris fell to the ground moments after taking off from Newark Airport. The Boeing 777-200ER, which took off from Newark heading for Sao Paulo, Brazil, at 11.24pm, had to enter a holding pattern at 24,000 feet over the Atlantic after experiencing what is suspected to be a hydraulic pressure pump failure.  Approximately an hour and a half later, after dumping fuel over the ocean to reduce weight, the aircraft made a safe emergency landing back at Newark Airport.  The terrifying moment was purportedly caught on video by a nearby plane spotter, who captured the shower of sparks streaming from the landing gear compartment of the Boeing 777. He also took a photograph of a piece of rectangular, rusty-looking piece of debris that fell to the ground. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that the plane landed safely after the crew reported an emergency and that an investigation is under way. There were no reports of any casualties or injuries among the crew and...

Four fans have taken legal action against the Washington Commanders and three other defendants citing gross negligence after a railing struck down on them following a game against the Philadelphia Eagles last season.  The lawsuit was filed in a federal court in Maryland on Friday by plaintiffs Andrew Collins, Morgan French, Michael Naimoli and Marissa Santarlasci. All four fans claim to still be receiving medical treatment from cuts, bruises and muscle injuries after having fallen onto the field by the barrier's collapse. The fans, who all live in New Jersey, are each seeking compensatory damage in excess of $75,000 for their injuries, loss of income and medical bills, as well as punitive charges, according to The Washington Post. The lawsuit names the franchise, the company owning the stadium's rights and a security service  for large crowds as defendants. Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder is also the owner of FedEx Field. DEAR HARRIETTE: My boyfriend didn’t defend me against another man, and now I can’t look at him the same. My boyfriend and I were out at a nightclub over the weekend when a drunk man started to verbally harass me. He shouted several profanities at me for no reason. The man was eventually escorted out of the club, but I was visibly upset well before he left. My boyfriend didn’t say a word to the man while he was shouting at me. He didn’t defend me at all. When I asked him why he didn’t defend me, he said that it only would have escalated the situation, and he didn’t want us to get kicked out as well. I can’t look at him the same now. My feelings are hurt that he wouldn’t instinctively defend me against someone who was harassing me. Would this be a silly reason to end the relationship? Iran on Friday said it had released two American sea drones that it seized in the Red Sea in the latest maritime showdown involving the U.S. Navy's new water-borne drone fleet in the Middle East.  The showdown is the latest reminder of tensions between the United States and Iran, following exchanges of fire between American troops and Iranian-backed forces in Syria, and as the two counties close in on a new nuclear deal. Iranian state television broadcast footage it said came from the deck of its Jamaran destroyer. It showed lifejacket-clad sailors examining what appeared to be two Saildrone Explorers. They could be seen throwing one overboard as another warship could be seen in the distance.  State TV said the Iranian navy found 'several unmanned spying vessels abandoned in the international maritime routes' on Thursday. 'After two warnings to an American destroyer to prevent possible incidents, Jamaran seized the two vessels,' state TV said.  'After securing the international shipping waterway, the Naval Squadron No. 84 released the vessels in a safe area.' Marsalis, 30, told reporters that she and her husband, Blaine, were aboard the plane, heading to Cabo for a vacation. She allegedly received an AirDrop notification while she was sitting in her seat, waiting to taxi to the runway. She declined the shared document, though two women sitting near her accepted it and shared its contents with her. "It was a nude man that had AirDropped himself to everyone," Marsalis said, though it's unclear whether the man in the photo was on board as well. Passengers reported the incident to a flight attendant, who then alerted the pilot. The pilot's speech may have had its intended effect since, according to Marsalis, flight attendants resumed their preflight responsibilities within 10 minutes, and the plane took off and landed in Cabo without further incident. Though Southwest hasn't confirmed the event, it did release a statement. "The safety, security and wellbeing of customers and employees is the Southwest team's highest priority at all times," the statement reads. "When made aware of a potential problem, our employees address issues to support the...

Two NFL teams were aware Matt Araiza had been involved in an incident in the lead-up to the NFL draft in April. That's according to the Associated Press, who say executives from two different NFL teams knew of something concerning the 22-year-old but did not know the extent of the allegations. The Buffalo Bills, however, knew nothing and signed Araiza in the sixth round of the draft. They released him on Saturday, days after it emerged he has been accused of being involved in the gang rape of a 17-year-old last year, alongside two of his then team-mates at San Diego State. The Bills did know Araiza was subject of a police investigation, however, when they released Matt Haack - Araiza's rival for the punter role in the team - on Monday. The victim's lawyer, Dan Gilleon, claimed the Bills ignored concerns he raised about Araiza when contacting the team in late July. 'The Buffalo Bills had no choice but to cut their young punter after so badly botching their response to our claim,' Gilleon said in a statement carried...
South Africans have hit out at Meghan Markle after she told of an apparent fire that broke out in her son Archie's room while she was on a tour of the country. Archie, then four months old, was not in the room in Cape Town when a heater started to smoke - but the incident left the Duchess of Sussex 'shaken' and 'in tears', she told tennis star Serena Williams in her new podcast. Others are understood to recall the incident which took place on September 23, 2019 - and while they do not remember there actually being a fire, the heater was certainly smoking and was unplugged and dealt with. Despite the upset, Meghan said in the Spotify podcast that she was obliged to continue with official engagements, accusing those running the tour of concentrating on 'how it looks, instead of how it feels'. However, South Africans have not taken too kindly to her claims on social media, to the point where '#VoetsekMeghan' - an offensive term meaning 'go away' - was trending on Twitter. Two pilots of a passenger airplane fell asleep mid flight- but miraculously landed their plane without anyone suffering injuries. Flight ET343 was travelling from Khartoum to Addis Ababa on August 15 when the incident happened at 37,000 ft. The pilots were meant to begin their descent to Addis Ababa Bole Airport. According to the Aviation Herald, Air Traffic Control attempted to contact the pilots but were unsuccessful. Finally, the crew awoke, after the aircraft's autopilot disconnected and sounded an alarm. The mother of a man who shot himself after smashing his car into a barrier outside the Capitol says she believes he suffered from brain trauma from playing football. Richard A. York suffered a number of head injuries and concussions in his playing days, and while a diagnosis can only be made after a post mortem, Ms Cunningham has already requested one from a private doctor and local coroner's office. She told the Guardian: 'Something was going on for a while. And it was progressively getting worse.'
