A handful of US states and countries around the world are set to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars as soon as 2030, but a new study finds holding onto your 'gas guzzler' is better than switching to the green technology. Researchers at Kyushu University in Japan found using cars with good fuel efficiency longer could reduce carbon dioxide emissions significantly more than an accelerated transition to alternative fuel vehicles. This was found after the team conducted a case study of newly registered and used cars in Japan between 1990 and 2016, which allowed them to model how 'replacement behavior' impacts the nation's carbon footprint. Trump reverses course and grants Californias wildfire disaster declaration request 6 Pizza Chains Quietly Vanishing This Year These Grow Lights Might Be the Secret to Keeping Your Plants Alive © Courtesy of [Modern Sprout](https://www.modsprout.com/){: rel="nofollow"} Brooklynite Maria Failla used to refer to herself as a “plant killer” until she saw the light—grow lights, that is. She now has five of them in the Brooklyn apartment she shares with her fiancé, and she’s graduated to “plant lady.” Plants are white-hot, in case you didn’t notice: Houseplant sales in the U.S. increased by 50% to 1.7 million in the last three years, according to 2019 figures from the National Gardening Association. Black churches mobilizing voters despite virus challenges This Grocery Store Chain is Bouncing Back After Declaring Bankruptcy The Best Rain Boots for Keeping Your Feet Dry and Comfortable, According to a Podiatrist Rain boots have traditionally had one job to do: Keep your feet dry. But according to Miguel Cunha, DPM, a board-certified podiatric surgeon and founder of Gotham Footcare, that's only one of the things you should be looking for when shopping for a new pair. Because of this, he suggests putting any pair you're thinking about buying through a "bend test," and making sure the boot doesn't easily flex at the arch. "[A solid arch] will provide more shock absorption, and in turn will result in less foot pain," says...

The Ciccone-Ritchies separated 12 years ago and, following bittercustody battles over their two children, have rarely been seen together since. 3Many break-ups end with the words: 'I hope we can still be friends', but few of us manage it So watching Madge, 61, Guy, 51, Madge’s new 25-year-old backing-dancerboyfriend Ahlamalik Williams, and Guy’s wife Jacqui Ainsley all play happyfamilies was a reminder that even after the most toxic of splits, there might be a way to be friendly with an ex.
