The infant, who Police identified as Cecilia Thomas, was hit in the head by a bullet coming from another car in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago. 1The baby was set to turn six months old in just days.     CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 5-month-old girl has died after she was shot while sitting in the back seat of a car in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood Friday.Police said that at about 6:45 p.m. the baby was in a vehicle in the 7700-block of South South Shore Drive when an unknown vehicle approached the car and someone inside opened fire.The baby was struck in the head and taken to Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition and died shortly after, police said.     The mother of a six-month-old boy who was was caught in crossfire between two drivers and killed in his car seat on Monday says she knew her son was dead when she pressed him against her white sweater, which is still stained with his blood.  Kerri Gray opened the back door and saw her baby slumped over in his seat as they were on their way to an Atlanta store. She noticed a pool of blood in his lap and her heart began to race, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. 'I pulled him out of the car seat and I grabbed him, and when I did that, that's when I felt the pieces - the loose pieces in the back of his head,' Gray told the newspaper while holding back tears.  Authorities have since arrested 22-year-old Dequasie Jonathan Little, who they believe is the shooter.     A NINE-month-old baby who was shot in the head at an Indiana apartment complex has been identified as Iowa Meriweather. The Vanderburgh County Coroner said the child was killed from a single gunshot wound in the head, WEHT/WTVW reported. Coroner Steve Lockyear said the child's death has been ruled a homicide, Courier & Press reported. Anthony Lamont Meriweather, 20, was arrested in connection with the shooting, Evansville police said in a statement. Cops were initially called to an apartment complex on Friday around 2:40pm.
