A wanted man with a particular predilection didn't go down quietly as he took sheriff’s deputies on a police pursuit before ultimately being taken down in Stafford County. Serial shoplifter Michael Vaughns, 63, of Fredericksburg, who enjoys his skin care products, has been arrested following a string of thefts and a curious pursuit involving a woman hopping out of his moving vehicle. Vaughns’ trail of thefts began shortly before Christmas, according to the sheriff's office, which was advised of separate shoplifting incidents on Dec. 24 and Dec. 27 at the Target on South Gateway Drive. In both instances, Vaughns was caught on surveillance video stealing a TheraFace Pro facial massage device with a value of $399. According to the sheriff's office, in both instances, Vaughns removed the massager from the packaging and “in a not so smooth move," proceeded to use his own credit card for a much cheaper purchase, concealed the massager, and exited the store. Vaughns went back to the well on New Year’s Eve, when he allegedly stole another massager and a $159 pair of...

Gary Rasor, 83, died on December 1 from injuries he suffered after he confronted the suspect at the store's garden center on October 18. He had been trying to stop him from stealing three pressure washers worth $800. The grandfather put his arm out to stop the man, and surveillance footage shows him being shoved to the floor by the thief who was clad in a Calvin Klein hoodie and face mask. The serial shoplifter has not been identified and police are still hunting for him.  Rasor, who had worked at the Hillsborough, North Carolina, store for nine years, was in and out of the hospital in the weeks after the incident before being transferred to hospice care, where he celebrated his 83rd birthday. A Milwaukee family who lost their son to a driver going 109 miles per hour when he hit a tree has slammed the county's woke DA who has fought for lower bail levels.  Danari Peer, 20, was killed while riding in the passenger side of Jai'Quann McMurty's car on October 5.  McMurtry had three felonies on his record related to gun and cocaine possession and was out on bail when he was driving the car, having received just $1,000 signature bond and $500 cash bond for the offenses.  Nicole Byrd and Jackie Peer are blaming their son's death on District Attorney John T. Chisholm's lax bail policies.   Chisholm was elected as Milwaukee County District Attorney in 2007 and he immediately started advocating for lower cash bonds for criminals, like McMurtry and Waukesha parade killer Darrell Brooks - a felon with a history of domestic violence charges who was most recently locked up for running over the mother of his children.  A Milwaukee family who lost their son, Danari Peer (pictured), to a driver going 109 miles per hour when he...

Police arrested Aftab Poonawala, 28, on Saturday for killing Shraddha Walkar, 27. He is accused of strangling her after an argument over marriage on May 18. After he hacked her into 35 small parts, he kept the pieces in small black poly bags in a fridge which he bought after the murder almost three weeks, copying the character. The two wives of a dead 'serial killer,' who has been accused by his daughter of murdering up to to 70 women, killed themselves, police reports said.  Donald Dean Studey, who died in 2013, has been accused of killing between 50 and 70 people on his Iowa property.  Many have speculated that Studey's two late wives were also murdered by the alleged killer, but police reports say otherwise.   Both of Studey wives killed themselves, police said. One reportedly died by strangulation and the other shot herself.  The revelation comes after Studey's name has been brought up in the news after his daughter Lucy said she knew 'where the bodies were buried.'  Lucy claimed her father forced her and her siblings to dump bodies of women he killed into a 100-foot well on their Green Hollow Road farmland decades ago.  However, her older sister Susan rejected the accusations and said their father was strict, but certainly not a killer.  'My father was not the man she makes him out to be,' Susan Studey told Newsweek. 'He was strict, but he was a protective parent...

Three women who were targeted by a violent serial squatter have spoken out about their horrific experiences with the seemingly-charming man - who went on to murder his own brother in a fit of rage after destroying the lives of dozens of victims. Jamison Bachman, from Pennsylvania, would rent a room in people's homes - often using a fake name and pretending to be a lawyer - only to then go out of his way to make their lives a nightmare by destroying their property, moving and touching their personal belongings, and refusing to pay rent.  The 'serial squatter' would often make up a back story - like a family member being sick or his old house being destroyed - to explain why he needed a place to live, and would start by posing as the perfect roommate - coming off as neat, polite, and well-educated. However, after a few days of living together, he would turn into a terror - doing whatever he could to make his roommates unhappy, like stealing their lightbulbs and purposely clogging the toilet with cat...
Police investigating a series of murders in New York City have confirmed that the horrific crimes are linked to a similar murder spree in Washington D.C. The chilling crimes began March 3 when the Metropolitan Police Department of D.C. responded to a call around 4 a.m. and discovered that a homeless man had sustained a gunshot wound. He was treated at a hospital and survived the injuries. Five days later, another person was found shot in the early hours of the morning and survived. The following day, a similar attack proved fatal. Around 3 a.m. on March 9, responders discovered a body inside a burning tent northeast of the city’s center. After extinguishing the flames, investigators discovered that the person, formerly homeless, had been shot and stabbed. The D.C. police confirmed that all three victims had been experiencing homelessness—and all three had been targeted by the same suspect. The murder spree then took an escalating turn for the worse when three more homeless people were attacked over the weekend. This time, the victims were in New York City....
SAN JOSE — Cambrian Park residents who harbor vivid memories of neighborhood cats disappearing, and turning up mutilated during a disturbing two-month stretch in 2015, are upset and grappling with the early jail release this week of the man convicted for those animal killings. Robert Roy Farmer was discharged from the Elmwood men’s jail Tuesday, according to authorities. He was issued a 13-year jail sentence in July 2017. But after accounting for his jail time prior to his conviction, a decade-old state policy designed to relieve jail and prison overcrowding, he was eligible for supervised release upon serving half his prescribed sentence. Farmer will be subject to up to three years of mandatory supervision, which will entail electronic monitoring as well as court-ordered psychological and drug-treatment services. He is also barred from having, caring for, or living with any animal for 10 years, and during his supervision period he is prohibited from being in the Cambrian Park neighborhood where his crimes occurred. The response to Farmer’s release was swift, with neighborhood residents and people whose pets were killed rapidly spreading...
A career criminal with 19 prior arrests and three assault convictions has become the latest face of NYC's soaring crime wave after he was charged with the murder of an innocent mom-of-four shot dead while walking her dog to a Brooklyn bodega.    Officers tracked down Namel Colon, 36, at a Chinese restaurant in Queens after the suspect evaded capture for nearly two months following the January 2 shooting inside Salim Smoke Shop in Bedford-Stuyvesant that left dogwalker Jennifer Ynoa, 36, and her year-old pet pit bull dead. Colon, who lives in Manhattan's Lower East Side according to public records, was subsequently cuffed and hauled to the borough's 79th Precinct, where he was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.  It is not clear if Colon was out on bail, parole, or conditional release at the time of the attack, and it is unknown how he managed to evade investigators for seven weeks after the shooting.  But he was previously paroled after being jailed three times for assault, as New York state faces questions over its no bail policy...
New York City Mayor Eric Adams headed to Albany on Monday to try and crackdown on woke state bail reform laws as the shocking murder of a young Asian woman at the hands of a free-on-bail serial criminal sent shockwaves across his city.  Adams met with Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie on Monday morning to discuss removing the cash bail system as part of a crackdown down on crime, as he's been pushing for lawmakers to allow judges to consider the 'dangerousness' of defendants before deciding to release them.  It came after Sunday's murder of Christina Yuna Lee, 25, an advertising creative followed into her apartment building by a killer cops named as Assamad Nash, 35, who is said to have knifed her in her bathroom.  Nash was freed on bail at the time following an assault at Grand Central in September 2020, thanks to state bail laws aimed at lowering prison populations. Serious crime in NYC has spiked 40 per cent this year.  Taking a page out of President Joe Biden's book - who Adams, 61,...
Newly released surveillance video shows a prolific shoplifter arrested in downtown Seattle after he stole a 70-inch television from a Target store last month, which staff claim was his 22nd instance of theft in just three months.  Career criminal John Ray Lomack, 55, who is believed to be homeless and has a rap sheet dating back to the '80s, was caught on camera eyeing the TV in the store, loading it into a shopping cart and walking out of the store without attempting to pay. He then drags the TV down the street, where he is met by police who advise him to 'unhand the property.' Lomack declines, alleging he purchased the item - valued at nearly $750 and on sale for $600 - but was unable to provide a receipt. Police attempt to arrest him, but he resists and a 'physical struggle' ensues. He was eventually taken into custody and later charged with burglary, 770 KTTH Radio reported. Judge Kuljinder Dhillon, who is notoriously lenient on homeless offenders, released Lomack without bond despite the fact that a King County prosecutor...
A serial killer in Texas who has been on death row for more than 20 years in the murders of five young women has had his appeal to review his sentence denied by the U.S. Supreme Court after he claimed his public defender was ineffective and negligent in presenting his case. Faryion Wardrip, 62, was convicted in 1999 in the deaths of the four women in a 16-month span, starting in Wichita Falls, in 1984. He had been free on parole after confessing to the murder of another woman. His murdered victims were Terry Sims, 20; Toni Gibbs, 23; Debra Taylor, 25; Ellen Bau, 21, and Tina Kimbrew, 21.  The top court's decision to deny Wardrip's appeal shared on Monday. It was the latest in a string of attempts by Wardrip to have his death penalty tossed. Faryion Wardrip, 62 committed five murders in Texas between December 1984 and May 1986. Four of the murders happened in Wichita County and one happened in the Dallas-Fort Worth area Allan B. Polunsky Unit in West Livingston, Texas, where Wardrip hason death row...
A Good Samaritan was knocked to the ground and mugged in New York City by a homeless man after giving him a coat on Wednesday, the third assault arrest for the attacker in two weeks as he repeatedly skirts jail due to the new District Attorney's 'woke' policies. Surveillance video of the incident shows the unidentified 59-year-old victim as he  tried to help 25-year-old Xavier Israel, who had been lying on the sidewalk at 476 5th Avenue around 8 p.m. on a particularly cold evening, footage obtained by the New York Post shows. The victim gently places a jacket he was wearing on Israel before the homeless man springs up and pushes him into the ground. Israel took the man's wallet from his back pants pocket while he was on the ground before fleeing the scene.   The victim attempts to get his wallet back before Israel punches him and throws him back to the ground, video shows.    SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO  Xavier Israel had been lying on the sidewalk on 5th Avenue around 8 pm when he punched and robbed a...

SAN CARLOS (KPIX) — A San Carlos restaurant owner is urging state lawmakers to step in after he was sued by a man who has filed thousands of lawsuits against California businesses over alleged violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act. “It is a legal scam,” said Francesco Ruggiero. “I’m not the first, I’m not the last person.” Ruggiero, who owns Delizie restaurant in the heart of San Carlos, was hit with the lawsuit last year. The plaintiff, Scott Johnson, is a quadriplegic. In court documents Johnson claims that Ruggiero’s tables at his restaurant’s outdoor parklet were not wheelchair-friendly. Before Johnson’s lawsuit, Ruggiero said he had never been sued before in the decade since he first opened his doors. A former aerospace company executive accused embattled Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday, as well as several of her appointees, of retaliating against him after he filed a whistleblower complaint. Zach DeGregorio, the former Chief Financial Officer of Spaceport America, alleges that one of Grisham’s political appointees, Alicia Keyes, encouraged him to falsify an economic impact study. He also alleges that Keyes mishandled a bond refinancing for the purpose of defrauding the state. When DeGregorio attempted to report the wrongdoing, he claimed, he was threatened with investigations and a firing. DeGregorio resigned from his position at the company in June 2020, shortly after he filed a complaint alleging that Spaceport America Executive Director Daniel Hicks violated several state laws, which led to “possible waste and abuse of taxpayer funds.” In the lawsuit, DeGregorio adds that Hicks attempted to break into his email account and accessed emails DeGregorio sent to Keyes about Hicks’ involvement in alleged procurement fraud. After tracking software was placed on DeGregorio’s tech devices, he claims, he resigned. A spokeswoman for Spaceport America declined the...
Miami police suspect a 25-year-old, Cuban-born real estate agent of being a 'serial killer' after he was arrested in the killings of two homeless men and for critically wounding a third in a series of drive-by shootings from his Dodge Charger. Willy Suarez Maceo allegedly shot a homeless man in the head near downtown Miami at 400 SW 2nd Avenue around 8 pm on Tuesday then pulled up alongside Jerome Antonio Price, 56,  two hours later and shot him dead as he slept on the sidewalk at Miami Avenue and 21st Street in Wynwood. The first victim survived. He's also suspected in the unsolved murder of another homeless man, 59-year-old Manuel Perez, at 27 SE 1st Street on October 16.  A man pictured in surveillance footage at the scene closely resembles Maceo, and the vehicle seen driving away matches a black Dodge Charger caught in surveillance footage of the Tuesday shootings, police said.  Maceo was arrested Thursday after he refused to drive away from an area with visible 'no trespassing' signs at 445 Northwest 4th Street, according to police reports.  A rapid...
