In her first interview since losing an explosive defamation trial to Johnny Depp, Amber Heard insisted she stood by everything she said in the courtroom and shared grim details about the public invective against her throughout the case—including calls for her death. Heard spoke in a sit-down interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie on the Today show. “To my dying day, I will stand by every word of my testimony,” Heard told Guthrie when questioned about her accusations of abuse by her ex-husband, which a jury found to be defamatory on June 1. Heard also addressed the social-media frenzy that engulfed the extremely public trial, with online sympathy skewing heavily in favor of Depp. “I think the vast majority of this trial was played out on social media,” Heard said. “I think that this trial is an example of that gone haywire, gone amok. The jury’s not immune to that.” She added: “I think even [for] the most well-intentioned juror, it would have been impossible to avoid this.” But criticism from members of the public wasn’t just confined...
A former Disney executive said Johnny Depp may be called to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow as fans have a 'huge appetite' to see it happen.  The former executive, who was not named, told People he thought Depp, 58, may return as the swashbuckling rogue pirate, because of the promise of a huge potential payday for everyone involved. 'I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Captain Jack back on board,' the executive told People. 'There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture.'  The former Disney insider predicted that after the huge success of Paramount Pictures' 'Top Gun: Maverick,' Disney would be looking to bring back their own beloved franchise. 'There is [a] huge appetite for bringing back bankable Hollywood stars in massively popular franchises,' the executive told People.  Despite the insider's confidence that Disney could bring back the franchise, he's not too sure the actor would be up for it.  A former Disney executive believes Johnny Depp (left, in character, with Orlando Bloom...

A massive pirate ship 'sailed' by a Virginia courthouse Tuesday as jury deliberations continue in the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard defamation trial.  The vessel was a van atop a flatbed disguised to look like a pirate ship covered with 'Pirates of the Caribbean' images, including the face of Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow. A pirate mannequin stood at the bow of the 'ship' which delighted fans who saw it in person and on social media. It was towed past the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse in Virginia where jurors continue to deliberate the outcome of Depp's case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.  But sadly Depp himself won't have seen what appears to have been a lavish means of supporting his case, as he is in the UK performing with his band Hollywood Vampires.  There was no sign of Heard either on Tuesday, although Depp's star lawyer Camille Vasquez was pictured headed into court. Tuesday is the first full day of deliberations for them in what is a complicated and evidence-heavy case. A verdict is unlikely to be returned Tuesday, and is...

Johnny Depp has told his $100million defamation trial that he has never watched Pirates of the Caribbean. The actor, 58, who will return to the stand today to face ex-wife Amber Heard's lawyers, told the court he 'believes that the film did pretty well', referring to the first film in the series, The Curse of the Black Pearl, which grossed $654million. Depp played swashbuckling pirate Jack Sparrow in the hit films in the 14th highest-grossing series of all time.  Asked in the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia yesterday about how his life changed after the 2003 film, Depp said: 'Cartoon characters can get away with things we can't.  'Captain Jack Sparrow can do things that I could never do. He could say things that I could never say. So it was for me, a way to stretch the parameters of a character and take a risk in doing that.
AT the age of 30, this Argentine-born Italian international quit the game to become a rock star. That was after the former forward played his football on the South Coast for Southampton, and also turned out for teams as prestigious as Inter Milan, Juventus and Boca Juniors. 4Can you guess who this former footballer is? Not to mention representing the Azzurri 14 times... can you guess who this Jack Sparrow lookalike is? It's none-other-than Dani Osvaldo, who Mauricio Pochettino brought to our shores in 2013 for the Saints in a £13million deal. Now, instead of leading the line for club and country, he is frontman of Barrio Viejo, a band he formed with a bunch of musician friends he met in a bar when he signed for Espanyol in the Barcelona back in 2010. "I was 30 years old when I quit football," Osvaldo told SunSport in 2018. "And people say that's the age when a footballer reaches his peak. "People just don't understand it, you know, they look at me like 'you're crazy. You had everything. Most read in...

If the iconic styles of judge Palomo Spain already awaken the imagination of the entire audience, in the last episode of the program, broadcast this Monday on La 1 de RTVE, this reached its culmination. And it is that, the artist appeared with suits that soon evoked hundreds of similarities in the networks. The first could be seen with the visit to the village of El Rocío. Although the designer justified the choice of his clothing, Twitter did not take long to pass sentence: it seemed acow boy or one of the Reyes brothers in the soap opera Passion of Hawks. For the test, the apprentices and the team went to the village of El Rocío, where to learn about flamenco fashion. There, and taking as a model the work of Laura Sánchez, each team tried to reproduce a dress designed by the model, who attended the group test to inspire the apprentices to make a rociera suit. How could it be otherwise, the judges came to the challenge fully characterized with classic flamenco costumes. The most striking was...
The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has grown with each new installment as it followed the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow, its charismatic protagonist played by Johnny Depp. But after the fifth film, Salazar’s Revenge, the saga came to a halt and now, that Depp does not seem to remain linked to the character, the pirate universe faces a new stage, in which Disney plans up to 10 new projects, be it series or movies. When The Curse of the Black Pearl was released in 2003, a film inspired by one of the classic Disney World attractions, it was an immediate success thanks to its high doses of adventure and fun, in large part due to the brilliant and crazy interpretation of Depp like Sparrow. But since then, and although each new film has been a success at the box office, with a total collection that exceeds 4.5 billion dollars with its five films, none has reached the first installment as far as critics are concerned. Now, Disney is looking for the formula to make the Pirates of the Caribbean...

Johnny Depp’s former security guard claims the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star doesn’t break character — acting like “pretty much Jack Sparrow” in his regular life, according to a report. Security guard Rick Wood said the actor, 57, was “awesome” and “laid-back” when he worked at his and then-wife Amber Heard’s home in Australia while the franchise filmed in 2015, 9News reported. “He stays in character so he’s pretty much Jack Sparrow – great bloke,” Woods told the outlet. Wood said there was never any indication that Depp physically abused his newlywed bride — despite him later being labeled a “wife-beater” in a 2018 article that’s now the center of Depp’s libel case. “I couldn’t see it in him and in my industry, you know who’s a wife-beater and who’s not,” Wood told the outlet. Despite effusive praise for the Depp, the security guard said 34-year-old Heard was known to “stir the pot” and for her “look at me” antics. “She made up this big drama she was leaving, taxis would turn up we would have to wave them away...
Suiting back up in his classic pirate garb as Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp surprised the patients of Australia’s Queensland Children’s Hospital with a digital visit online. In collaboration with Juiced TV, Depp appeared via webcam from a pirate-themed room fully in character as the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean hero, and the entire meeting was broadcast on Facebook Live. In addition to looking just like Captain Jack complete with the character’s unique facial hair, Depp also speaks in the pirate’s signature accent, making those speaking with him on the line very happy. During the video call, Depp spoke with patients Gabby, Asha, and Thomas. He plays games and has some fun while in character, such as acting completely oblivious to how the webcam works. He also answers the various questions that they have, including one asking Captain Jack Sparrow which animal he could be if he had the choice. “A ferret,” Depp says in his Captain Jack voice. “I have been told a ferret can hit the wall at maximum speed and bounce off with nothing but a smile.”...
After the news broke last week that Margot Robbie will produce and star in an upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean project, many longtime fans of the franchise are calling for Johnny Depp to still play Captain Jack Sparrow. Word is that this new movie with Robbie is unrelated to the previously-announced female-led sequel that would officially serve as Pirates of the Caribbean 6, suggesting at least two new installments set in the Pirates universe are now in the works. In any case, some fans are demanding Depp return as Captain Jack in one or both of these projects, feeling he was unfairly fired from the franchise by Disney. “It’s simple…if the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie has no Captain Jack Sparrow, no Johnny Depp, I’m not watching it,” one fan tweet writes, garnering thousands of likes and retweets with plenty of similar responses. Another popular post on twitter from character actor Vincent Marcus also sums it up pretty well, praising Robbie’s new project while still calling for Depp to be given his old job back. “Very happy for Margot...
