Getty New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh having some fun with a few of his players. The New York Jets are enjoying their bye week and that provided head coach Robert Saleh with some extra time he isn’t used to. On top of cleaning out his garage, Saleh carved out part of his day to do a series of podcast interviews. One of his appearances was on Mike Silver’s show ‘Open Mike’ and he told a hilarious story about offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur: “So this is funny. It was like Week 4 of the first season and I get a question from one of our beat writers, I know who it was but I’m not going to put them on blast, about Mike LaFleur. [The question was] whether or not I think he was doing a good job. I was like jeez in the back of my mind, I answer the question and I go to LaFleur and I was like it took me a year and 14 games for me to get questioned about my job...
The Argentine college student who is pictured in the 'Girl Explaining' meme has finally revealed how the viral photo came about. The hilarious meme shows Denise Sánchez apparently yelling into her ex-boyfriend's ear and while her arm extended forward while attending a beachside side festival in the Buenos Aires town of Claromecó in February 2019. The 21-year-old told DailyMail.com that her boyfriend was in fact tired because it was getting late and that she was actually rhyming along to a song when a young woman standing in front of them posed for a picture they unknowingly photobombed. "I remember she uploaded it to Twitter. She said, 'What a letdown. They messed the picture because those two kids were in the back with that face,'" Sánchez said during a phone interview Monday. "She was laughing because we came out in the back of the photo and she came out pretty, but she could not post it because we were in it." Denise Sánchez told DailyMail.com that she and her ex-boyfriend accidentally photobombed a picture that a young woman had taken of...
This is an important detail because Ohio law requires mandatory reporters, like physicians, to report cases of child abuse to law enforcement. The rape of a 10-year-old child, resulting in a pregnancy, should have been immediately reported to law enforcement, who presumably would have opened a criminal investigation into the case. But Yost told Fox News host Jesse Watters his agency has not heard even a "whisper" about the alleged victim or alleged perpetrator. "So, Dave, have you had anybody come to you in your state to say we're looking into this? A police report was filed?" Watters asked. "Not a whisper, and we work closely with the centralized law enforcement system in Ohio. We have regular contact with prosecutors and local police and sheriffs," Yost confirmed. "Not a whisper anywhere." Not only has the Ohio attorney general's office not heard of any case like this, but the state crime lab has received no evidence of any crime, which would have been collected in a case of child sexual assault. "Something maybe even more telling, Jesse, is my office runs...

Aaron Rodgers told Pat McAfee what any rational person already knew and confirmed he will not sit out the Super Bowl should he lead the Green Bay Packers there this season. Last week, a video went viral showing former NFL MVP Boomer Esiason on his New York radio show, reading a text from someone who made the claim that Rodgers will sit out the Super Bowl as a way of protesting the NFL’s Covid protocols. “It’s become fairly standard, mention me in the same sentence and use tag words like doctor, or Joe Rogan, or ivermectin…Covid toe, and you’re gonna get some ratings,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show. Esiason and his co-host Gregg Giannotti quickly concluded that the text was an attempted prank, but that part of their WFAN radio show did not make it to Rodgers. Instead, Rodgers fell victim to the hundreds of news outlets that ran headlines of a viral video that was edited to make it seem like Esiason believed the erroneous Super Bowl rumor came from a legitimate source. ...

Five-and-a-half years after a former Hooters waitress named Zola went viral with an epic 148-tweet tale about stripping, prostitution, pimps, and trafficking, her wild ride of a story has been turned into a feature film, which is released in cinemas today. In a lengthy tale posted to Twitter in 2015, A'Ziah King, known as Zola, from Detroit, told of meeting a girl named Jess while she was waiting tables at Hooters, and how after 'vibing over our hoeism' the two left for Florida the following day where Jess had sex with upwards of 20 men in one night for money and her boyfriend Jarrett attempted suicide. The entire time the two were working for a pimp named Z, who she claimed she later learned was wanted for murder and kidnapping.  The movie Zola premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and stars actress Taylour Paige in the titular role, and Riley Keough as a supporting character. A woman’s horrifying tale about discovering “squiggly white” worms in her anus has gone viral on TikTok. Mercedes Edwards recounted in graphic detail how she came down with a pinworm infection as a child in a video, which has racked up more than 1.7 million views on the platform. “If you don’t know what that is, it’s these little white worms and they live in your butthole. They come out at night to lay eggs around your anus,” Edwards said in the clip last month under the username @hoopdolphin. She said that she knew something was wrong when her anus became “so itchy.” “So I got a little mirror because I wanted to look to see like what was going on down there, you know?” she told viewers while snacking on edamame. “And I saw all these squiggly white things moving on and I freaked the f–k out.” She said her mom got a piece of tape to stick on her anus to get a sample for the doctor, who confirmed that she had a pinworm infection. “I had to...
Ellis County Constable Curtis Polk (left) grants reporters an interview along with Judge Todd Little. Every time Constable Curtis Polk Jr., the only Black elected official in his Texas county, went to work, he had to not only take stairs down to the basement, but also walk past the N-word plastered on a wall outside his shared office space and preserved as a historical sign. The word “NEGROES” was uncovered in a restoration project about 20 years ago, denoting a time in history when the county facilities were segregated down to the water fountains. But since the news and culture site Smash Da Topic Breaking News initially reported on the sign and the story went viral, the constable and a local judge announced that it has been covered and the constable moved to a private office.  It’s a real shame it took a social media firestorm for the county to realize keeping its only Black elected official in an office right outside a “NEGROES” sign wasn’t the best idea, but I guess I’ll have to take my good news wherever I can get it. Polk no...

Fans worried about the fate of Screech can breathe easy — Dustin Diamond is still alive, despite a viral hoax spreading on social media claiming he suffered a gruesome demise. A viral screenshot of a news story has spread across Facebook and other social media this week claiming that the former Saved by the Bell actor was murdered in a prison riot. As Reuters noted, the story is meant to be satirical, despite many who have apparently been fooled into thinking that the actor was killed. The fact-check pointed out that the article directed to a website called Ringsssss, which noted on its “About Us” page that it is a “satirical newspaper and comedy website” that uses a combination of fictional names in articles and stories about public figures meant to be satire. For good measure, Reuters added that no other major news outlet had written about Diamond’s alleged killing. The story did appear to borrow at least some details from the actor’s troubled life. As The Inquisitr reported, Diamond was sent to jail in early 2016 after a conviction...
The tale of “forced hysterectomies” at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Georgia was certain to create a firestorm. Hide As soon as it broke, the story zoomed across the internet. Congresspersons, major national organizations, celebrities, and other high-profile entities and individuals rushed to share it and weigh in. Hide Now some are wondering whether it was proper for media outlets to report on the thinly-sourced allegations without independently vetting them. A few believe the allegation itself—whether true or not, which is far from clear—is being amplified by nefarious actors, potentially foreign, in the hopes of interfering with the upcoming election specifically and American political discourse generally. If the allegations turn out to be false or overblown, many in the media, including major outlets that have eagerly repeated it, would lose credibility. And if we can’t trust the media, how can we know what’s true? According to reporting that first appeared in the somewhat lesser-known outlet Law & Crime midday yesterday, a whistleblower complaint alleges that large numbers of detained immigrant women at the Irwin County Detention Center (ICDC)...

Security personnel stand in tear gas in Portland, Oregon, on July 26, 2020, amid protest When protests for justice for George Floyd and Breonna Taylor were getting national media attention, a particularly negative focus fell down upon Portland, Oregon—and right-wing media (and politicians) had a field day with the city’s demonstrations. Portland’s protests have been characterized as chaotic and dangerous, though as Daily Kos covered at the time, much of the protests have been peaceful. If you follow social media, you might have seen a viral story about Bible (and eventually, American flag) burning in Portland on August 1; this story became so big, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, as well as Donald Trump Jr. retweeted it. What was missing from the story then? According to The New York Times, this story appears to have been not only embellished but, as we near the November presidential elections, possibly part of a Russian disinformation campaign that got some considerable traction among conservatives.  Here’s what we know: The incident is real, albeit misleading in the right-wing media framing it eventually got. Of the thousands of Black Lives Matter protesters at...
