RIO FERDINAND and Joe Cole picked their England XIs after working as pundits on Chelsea's 3-0 win over AC Milan. The Blues' dominant victory saw Three Lions regular Reece James put in another brilliant performance at right-back, even getting himself on the scoresheet. 4Former Three Lions Ferdinand and Cole discussed their England XIsCredit: The Sun 4 Both pundits agreed that they would start James over Trent Alexander-Arnold for England - and the BT Sport crew couldn't resist going through their entire line-ups. The duo each selected very attacking teams, although did NOT agree on the formation. Ferdinand, 43, wants Gareth Southgate to deploy a 4-1-2-1-2 formation - with injury doubt Kyle Walker part of a defensive duo alongside Manchester City team-mate John Stones and Chelsea full-backs James and Ben Chilwell. Should Walker, who has just undergone surgery on a groin injury, miss the tournament - Rio would replace him with James and play Alexander-Arnold at right-back. Of all the planets in our solar system, Saturn certainly strikes the imagination with its representation, thanks to its enormous rings. But even today astronomers do not agree on their origin or even their age. A new study published September 15 in the journal Science seeks to provide a definitive answer to this burning question. According to him, about 100 million years ago, an icy moon broke up after coming close to Saturn; The remnants of this satellite gradually settled into its orbit. “Saturn’s rings were discovered by Galileo about 400 years ago and are one of the most interesting objects in the solar system to observe with a small telescope,” said Jacques Wisdom. study. A “plausible” explanation “It’s satisfying to find a plausible explanation,” says the professor of planetary science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.MIT) Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and formed four and a half billion years ago, at the beginning of the Solar System. But a few decades ago, scientists suggested that Saturn’s rings appeared much later: about 100 million years ago. A...
GRAHAM POTTER has made three changes for his first game in charge of Chelsea. WHILST there is no escaping the fact that Arsenal were outplayed by Crystal Palace, it cannot be ignored that prior to Monday, Mikel Arteta’s team had won five Premier League games in a row. While it certainly appears that Arsenal striker target Dusan Vlahovic has played the Gunners to get a move to Juventus, there may be a slight positive. One by-product might be that Mikel Arteta can now land midfield target Arthur Melo, as the Italian giants will need cash. 3Arthur is on Arsenal's radarCredit: Getty Arsenal have been heavily linked with the ex-Barcelona midfielder for most of the window, and as a loan deal now seems quite possible, I wanted to look at why the deal makes sense. The touted move has had a mixed reaction from the Arsenal fanbase, particularly if Juventus insist on an 18-month loan, rather than a deal to the end of this season. Fans are concerned, especially after recent loans such as Denis Suarez and Dani Ceballos, have not worked out. However, in the case of Arthur, it is perhaps simply that a managerial change has seen him drop down the midfield pecking order at Juve, and that Arteta believes he can rejuvenate the player that played so well for Barcelona. MANCHESTER UNITED travel to Aston Villa on Saturday night WITHOUT Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar has a thigh problem and Ralf Rangnick may be forced to switch formation and play a youngster or two as a result. 2This is how Man Utd could line-up at Aston Villa on Saturday night Ronaldo missed Monday’s 1-0 FA Cup third round victory over Villa with a hip injury. The sight of a line of ducklings paddling along behind their mother is something that many of us are used to seeing in rivers and ponds. But why do ducklings swim in this formation? Scientists from the University of Strathclyde set out to answer this question, and found that swimming in a line behind their mother helps to reduce drag, and actually propels the ducklings forwards. The Lebanese Maronite bishops have harshly criticized government leaders for failing to form a cabinet at the expense of the people, who are “humiliated” and economically crushed by the present crisis. They also deplored “the worsening political crisis, which has made the formation of a government impossible for a year for reasons linked to the shameful sharing of quotas.” “The question today is a matter of destiny, and therefore a matter of life and death,” they stated. They reckon that the 48-year-old wants to find a way to fit more of his attacking players into his starting XI. This could see him revert to a 4-3-3 formation, with a few new star names to boot. Dean Henderson finished last season as Solskjaer's No1 and should start the next as first choice keeper. The Red Devils are set for a new-look defence, with SunSport exclusively revealing that they are closing in on securing new £68million duo Raphael Varane and Kieran Trippier. Those two will be joined in defence by Euro 2020 heroes Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw. McTominay is likely to survive at the base of midfield ahead of Fred, with Bruno Fernandes to his right and potentially Paul Pogba...
The mystery of why Eleonora's falcons migrate longer routes in a complex 'zig-zag' pattern has long baffled scientists. But they are now a step closer to unravelling the answer after discovering the birds do it not only to benefit from stronger tailwinds but also to make detours for food and to avoid the hinderance of tropical rainforests.  This is because the heat and rain can impact soaring and flapping flight when the falcons fly over them. Scroll down for video Migration: Eleonora's falcons fly in a 'zig-zag' pattern and take detours when migrating from Madagascar to the Canary Islands rather than taking the shortest, more direct route (pictured) WHY DO ELEONORA'S FALCONS MIGRATE IN A 'ZIG-ZAG' PATTERN?  There are several reasons why Eleonora's falcons migrate from the Canary Islands to Madagascar in a complex 'zig-zag' pattern. The most direct route would see them covering about 4,900 miles (8,000km), but in the autumn they travel 5,500 miles (9,000km) on average and in the spring more than 6,800 miles (11,000km). One of the main reasons they don't fly direct is to...
SO now we have it. The fans have spoken and there will no European Super League threatening the integrity of the beautiful game. 15The fans have won; Chelsea supporters make their feelings felt about a proposed European Super League, which has now collapsedCredit: AFP It would have been a radical change had the plan for the 'Big Six' breakaway been successful. And it wouldn't be the first time that football has been changed for the better/good, depending on how you see it. Here's seven moments that changed the football landscape (perhaps) forever. FIRST £1-A-WEEK FOOTBALLER Today, we're used to seeing large sums thrown around for star players. Recently, Kevin De Bruyne inked a deal worth more than £300,000-a-week, which he negotiated himself. It dates all the way back to 1884 and Preston North End, who were believed to be the first club to pay their players. After amateur London side Upton Park complained they had an unfair advantage in an FA Cup tie between the two, the FA expelled Preston from the competition saying it was unsporting to pay their...
The vaccination process against Anthrax in the reindeer populations of Lovozero, in the Russian region of Murmansk, near the Arctic Circle, has made it possible to capture one of the most hypnotic phenomena in nature: the cyclone movement of the reindeer. According to experts, the reindeer perform these movements in a group and in a spiral as a defensive formation. Females and fawns are placed in the center and with that movement in an anti-clockwise direction, they make it difficult for predators to reach them and to fixate on a specific individual. In this case, the reindeer had been herded and taken to pens for the vaccination process. During the process and even within the enclosures, the animals performed this defensive formation, which could be captured by the camera of a drone. It is not a new phenomenon, as LiveScience published a few years ago, it was referring to a documentary of the PBS, the Wild Way of the Vikings, already referred to Viking hunters who, around the year 1000, who had encountered this phenomenon and this formidable defense.
NASA's Perseverance rover may still be finding its footing in the Jezero Crater, but in the meantime, the Curiosity rover is having a blast taking selfies at a fascinating rock formation.  Since 2014, Curiosity has been slowly but surely climbing the 3-mile-high Mount Sharp, which is located in the middle of the Gale Crater. NASA revealed new images from the rover Tuesday that were captured earlier this month.  On March 16 and March 26, Curiosity snapped 60 images using the Mars Hand Lens Imager on its robotic arm and 11 using its Mastcam, located on its "head." It captured an impressive rock formation called "Mont Mercou" — named after a mountain in southeastern France.  In the selfies, as well as an accompanying pair of majestic panoramas taken on March 4, Mont Mercou can be seen to the left of the rover. The formation is 20 feet tall.  "Wish you were here!" the rover tweeted with the selfie.  NASA's Curiosity Mars rover used two different cameras to create this selfie in front of Mont Mercou, a rock outcrop that stands...
There are political careers that are parallel even though they have a different ending. Irene Lozano and Toni Cantó are two examples of this. Although his journey in the institutions has not ended, both will be adversaries in Madrid after sharing acronyms in UPyD. They were part of the magenta formation, and with the dissolution of this they undertook different paths that now somehow intersect in the face of the 4-M elections. She, with Gabilondo. Him, with Ayuso. From teammates to rivals. The year 2015 was the one that changed everything. Lozano left the magenta formation to join the PSOE lists for the elections that month of June. Since then, she has become one of the most trusted people for Pedro Sánchez, and since he is president of the Government, the now candidate in Madrid She was first in charge of the leadership of Spain Global, after the motion of censure, and then as president of the Higher Sports Council, his last position at the national level. Now Lozano will have “one of the first positions” of the socialist list...
A day later, he saw public accusations between them Yesterday (Wednesday) the public raised accusations between Lebanese President Michael Aun and Prime Minister Chad Hariri about their responsibility to disrupt the formation of the government, which viewers regarded as a “bone-breaking war” between themselves. When Owen called on Prime Minister Brown’s Palace to discuss or apologize for the immediate formation of the government, Hariri responded by “allowing early presidential elections.” Aun addressed the Lebanese people, spoke about the difficult living conditions they are now suffering from, and invited Hariri to the Presidential Palace, “in agreement with me to immediately form a government.” He added, “If he finds it impossible to appoint a prime minister and heads a national salvation government that addresses the dangerous conditions that afflict the country and its people, he must accommodate everyone with the ability to compose music.” Hariri responded to Aur’s speech, saying he had visited him 16 times since he was appointed “with the same objective set by his superiors to accept the government of non-discriminating experts.” He said he was ready...
Regional President Isabel Díaz Ayuso does not want to include many changes in his future government, if the ballot box allows it. “I like my government, I will make very few changes,” he assured at a press conference after the Governing Council when asked about the ‘signings’ of members of Ciudadanos by the PP. Ayuso has been happy with the counselors she has had in this legislature now terminated in advance by its electoral call. For this reason, he has insisted that there may not be many changes in the future. “I think that in recent weeks we have seen each other constantly changing people from parties to other parties and I believe that this does not benefit anyone,” he said. Although he has indicated that he has had a very good relationship with deputies and councilors of Ciudadanos, as well as with members of Vox and PSOE, he has defended that he wants to present a “concrete project”, which is the one with which he asked for the trust of the people of Madrid less than two years...
In a matter of days, the political landscape of the Community of Madrid has completely changed. Last Wednesday, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, regional president, announced that he was resigning and calling elections in the community for next May 4. But this Monday, it has been Pablo Iglesias who has surprised announced that he would be the candidate to be presented by United We Can. The current Vice President of the Government will leave his position in Moncloa to be the head of the list of the purple formation in the elections to the Community of Madrid, something that has quickly caused the Ayuso reaction. Popular politics, like Pablo Casado, has changed the expression of “socialism or freedom” for that of “communism or freedom“, after knowing the candidacy of Iglesias.”Spain owes me one, that we have removed Pablo Iglesias from La Moncloa“He added in his appearance on Monday. This way of talking about the leader of the purple formation seems to contrast with the friendship that both had years ago, as social networks have rescued. And it is that, in 2012Two years...
Inés Arrimadas, leader of Cs. (Photo: EFE) The leader of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, has accused this Thursday the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, of saying “falsehoods” for stating that she has called early elections in the region to anticipate a motion of censure by PSOE and Cs. As he has argued, if the orange formation had wanted to promote this initiative in Madrid against the PP, it could have done so, instead of refusing as it always did. “Ayuso has not been able to say more falsehoods, there was no motion of censure in Madrid. If there had been, it would have been presented ”, he declared in an interview on the COPE network. “Ayuso had it in mind” In parallel to the advancement of the elections by the Madrid president -after breaking Cs her government agreements with the PP in the Region of Murcia and the City Council of the capital-, the PSOE and Más Madrid registered in the Assembly two motions of censure against her. Arrimadas believes that Díaz Ayuso -who has dismissed his...
They express that secrets that were kept for a long time were finally revealed. Over the years there is a question that no scientist is able to answer accurately. How and when did our Solar system? There are theories and some estimates. However, knowing the precise event is still elusive for astronomy. But there are studies that come very close and this one by scientists from the ETH institute in Zurich claims to have the formula to determine the event with much more precision. They maintain in their portal that through an atom of niobium-92 extinct were able to date events in the early solar system. The thing that stands out from their research is that they found the formula for greater precision. Of course, they are compared with previous and similar studies. The work they carried out accurately affirms that the origin of the Sun was thanks to a supernova. The extinct atom of the solar system There is one particular atom that they identify as the niobium-92, already extinct. They explain that this element has a relatively...
ERC and Junts have met this Friday for the first time to address the formation of a new government and the investiture after the Catalan elections of February 14. This has been the first meeting between the two partners of the current Government, after both have already met with the CUP in recent days, and the Republicans also intend to meet the commons next week. The ERC negotiating team is made up of Marta Vilalta, Josep Maria Jové, Sergi Sabrià and Laura Vilagrà, while the Junts team is made up of Jordi Sànchez, Elsa Artadi, Josep Rius, Francesc de Dalmases and Míriam Nogueras.
ERC spokesperson in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, has argued that it is necessary to “enrich the government arithmetic” by adding the CUP and the Comuns to the executive to overcome tensions with JxCat. “We need a Government with many people” and with a “predominance of the left”, he said this Tuesday morning in an interview on TVE. Rufián says he expects “a lot” from the CUP and also expects “to take a step forward” and take on managing. Regarding the commons, ERC’s spokesperson in Congress has said it is “almost essential” that also join. According to Rufián, the differences between ERC and JxCat are similar to those of the PSOE and United We Can in Madrid and they cannot ignore the 32 deputies of this political space. Even so, the ERC leader in Madrid has defended that it is necessary to “tip the balance” to the left within the Government with the inclusion of CUP and comuns. The Republican has also argued that the result of the Catalan elections of 14-F “reaffirms” the strategy and way of doing politics of the...
PARIS (Reuters) - Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad al-Hariri on Wednesday dined with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the crisis in Lebanon and the difficulties in forming a new government, according to Hariri's Twitter account. "Presidents Hariri and Macron discussed the internal Lebanese difficulties that hinder the formation of the government and the possible ways to overcome them," the Twitter post said, adding that the two men had discussed French efforts to resolve the crisis over a two-hour dinner. Macron has been spearheading international efforts to rescue the former French protectorate from its deepest crisis since the 1975-1990 civil war. Macron is trying to use Paris' historical influence in Lebanon to persuade squabbling politicians to adopt a roadmap and form a new government to root out corruption, a prerequisite for international donors including the IMF to unlock billions of dollars in aid. However, those efforts have so far failed. Highlighting some of that frustration, the French presidency did not include the dinner on Macron's public agenda keeping the meeting private. Officials had declined to comment earlier in the day on...
