    Mystery surrounds the discovery of an unidentified man's fully-clothed body after it was pulled out of a pond in New York's Central Park. The body was found floating face down in the famed Turtle Pond, between the 79th Street Transverse and the Great Lawn, on Monday evening, police said.  At present the circumstances surrounding his death and the cause of death remain a mystery, with no obvious signs of trauma to the body.  An investigation into how the man died will be carried out by the Office of the Medical Examiner.     A man's body was found floating in the Delaware River, and police believe his death was suspicious, CBS3 reports. Recovery crews were called to the 3200 block of Buckius Street in Bridgesburg, where the man was pronounced dead around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, the outlet says. Officials said a passenger on the MARC train noticed what they believed to be a floating body in the creek. There was 25lb weight lifting plates inside the suitcase that were intended to keep it weighted down, CBS Miami reports. Police had found a magazine addressed to the Pena family with a Silver Spring, Maryland, address, which was where Curtis lived at the time. Authorities said they have charged 45-year-old Berkley Calvin Curtis Jr. with 2nd-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Rebeca Pena. Pena’s body was discovered by boaters on April 16, 2001 inside of a floating suitcase in the river along with two 25-pound weight lifting plates, which were intended to help keep the body underwater.     UPDATE: A 60-year-old man found floating dead in a Mercer County lake may have been a registered sex offender in the area.  Local police identified the body as Dana "Mike" Fields, of Highstown, but did not immediately say if it was the same Dana M. Fields, a registered sex offender in the area. First responders were called to Peddie Lake on reports of an unresponsive person, and Fields' body was around 8:30 p.m., according to local police. His death did not appear to be suspicious. Divers from the Hightstown Fire Department and EMTs from Robbinsville Township emergency medical services assisted in the recovery. An investigation remains ongoing. Hightstown police urged anyone with information about the incident and any witnesses to call Detective Jerry Mecca at 609-448-1234 x 540.
    The body of a critically endangered whale species was found floating off the Jersey Shore Thursday, federal authorities said. The carcass of the North Atlantic right whale was spotted by an aeriela survey team from the Center for Coastal studies off the coast of Elberon (part of Long Branch), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said. A necropsy by the NOAA and Marine Mammal Stranding Center is under way to determine how the whale died, agency said in a statement. Less than 400 North Atlantic right whales exist -- with less than 100 breeding females, NOAA Fisheries said.
