The View's conservative co-host turned on her colleagues live on air on Monday, accusing the other presenters of being intolerant and fostering a culture of 'toxic femininity', based on their disagreement of her decision to work in Donald Trump's administration. Alyssa Farah Griffin, who joined the show in August after serving as an advisor and communications director to Trump's administration, lashed out at the other women during a discussion about whether 'toxic femininity' was holding women back. 'We've come a long way in critiquing some of the male practices that are not helpful, and need to be called out,' Griffin began. She said that women could be each other's worst enemies, and said that some of her worst bosses and colleagues have been women. Co-host Ana Navarro then interrupted her, remarking: 'That's what happens when you work with Kellyanne Conway.' Griffin, frustrated, replied: 'Well, I can't really get a word in without you attacking me, so I wouldn't say this is totally different. Nearly 90,000 Disney-themed pajamas are being recalled over fears they could poison children. Textile ink painted on the clothes contained dangerous levels of lead - which if ingested may lead to serious health issues. The Bentex Group - based in New York City - has pulled around 87,000 items which were made in Egypt but sold at several major retailers nationwide, including TJ Maxx, DD’s/Ross, Burlington and Amazon. Parents are being urged to 'immediately' take the clothing away from children and dispose of them, before replying for a full refund. There have been no reports of injuries yet, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. High levels of lead exposure in children can cause irreversible brain damage, comas, convulsions and even death, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). It comes after tens of thousands of sippy cups and stainless steel baby bottles were recalled earlier this week because they contained lead. A 59-second declaration of all-out war on the British Royal Family. That’s the only conclusion that can be drawn from the release of the bombshell Netflix trailer for Harry and Meghan’s long-awaited and highly egregious reality show, specifically designed to derail William and Kate’s already troubled US tour. But the movie-style preview portraying the Waleses as the evil villains in the Sussexes’ tale of woke victimhood does so much more than just that – and they know it too. It’s confirmation that, despite the hopes of a grieving King Charles, the relationship with his youngest son and daughter-in-law is now forever smashed. Harry couldn’t even wait for the Coronation before unleashing his series of grenades, for God’s sake. There’s no going back after this full-throttled attack on the British monarchy, just weeks after the death of Queen Elizabeth the Great, which tastelessly is exploited in the just-released teaser, with the use of a photo of Meghan during the mourning period There’s no going back after this full-throttled attack on the British monarchy, just weeks after the death of Queen Elizabeth...
Republican strategists were licking their wounds on Wednesday as the post-mortem following the midterms began - with senior figures in the party branding Donald Trump a 'disaster' and accusing him of 'sabotaging' their expected cruise to victory. Many Democrats went into election night dreading how bad their losses could be and pondering how to explain them. By Wednesday, they had quickly shifted into day-after hoping that they could actually maintain a voting majority in the Senate, celebrating victories in key governors' races, and aware that control of the House was still not declared. Trump has promised to make a 'major announcement' on November 15, but many are trying to convince him to reconsider the expected launch of his 2024 campaign, given how well his rival Ron DeSantis, re-elected as governor of Florida, performed. 'Between being Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis tonight, you want to be Ron DeSantis,' said Mick Mulvaney, Trump's former chief of staff. 'DeSantis wins tonight and Trump is not doing very well.' Donald Trump on Wednesday was forced to deny reports he erupted in anger at the...
TikTok is promoting 'toxic' diet cultures to teens and young people across the world, scientists say. They have issued the warning after analyzing 1,000 of the most popular videos — viewed more than a billion times — with fitness or food-related hashtags. The study found the advice in the videos was of poor quality, was not backed up by evidence and often promoted unhealthy relationships with food. Most diet advice came from influencers, who are not experts and instead became famous for being attractive or charismatic.  Dr Lizzy Pope, a dietician at the University of Vermont who led the study, said: 'Each day, millions of teens and young adults are being fed content on TikTok that paints a very unrealistic and inaccurate picture of food, nutrition and health. 'Getting stuck in weight loss TikTok can be a really tough environment, especially for the main users of the platform, who are young people.' TikTok in particular is an attractive app for young people, with 60 per cent of the userbase being between the ages 16 and 24. Younger people are especially...
Most people are aware that unhealthy toxins and chemicals are in processed foods at supermarkets, however, what many people fail to realize is that the dinnerware you are using at home to cook your food may be just as harmful to your health! The good news is that many environmentally and health-friendly dinnerware alternatives are becoming more widely available. What Is Toxic In Dinnerware? Dinnerware made from ceramics such as porcelain, stoneware, earthenware, and china is often used to serve food. However, what people aren’t aware of is that the glaze, which gives dinnerware that smooth, shiny appearance can be toxic to the human body if consumed. BPA, Cadmium, and Phthalates are also dangerous heavy metals found in dinnerware that should be avoided. Why It Matters These glazes that are used to make ceramic bowls and plates may be aesthetically pleasing, but if you’re not careful, heavy metals can potentially make their way into your food and drinks without you even knowing. If too much lead makes its way into the body, it can result in lead poisoning as...
In the past decade, Americans have become peculiarly fixated on the idea of maintaining a constant positive mindset. The idea is most epitomized by the phrase "good vibes only," which is now emblazoned on clothing, cutesy mass-market home decor, neon signs and on many an influencer's social media posts in hashtag form. Though well-intentioned, the message — and arguably, the positive psychology movement that underlies the sentiment — has veered into the realm of toxic positivity. The term toxic positivity refers to a mentality in which, no matter how awful a situation may be, one is still told to still find a silver lining. Laid off from your job during the pandemic? The toxically positive might reply, "at least you didn't die of COVID." Did your spouse leave you? Toxic positivity would respond, "well, look on the bright side, they could have cheated on you." These kinds of messages often lead to feelings of guilt, shame, or may be an avoidance mechanism. In other words, maintaining a "good vibes only" mindset is not particularly helpful nor psychologically healthy. Humans...
Vitranc/Getty Fight disinformation: Sign up for the free Mother Jones Daily newsletter and follow the news that matters. In Puerto Rico, cheap labor and generous tax breaks—since 2017, more than $100 billion worth—have made US-based pharmaceutical firms the biggest economic players in town. Drug manufacturers have brought in tens of thousands of jobs, albeit with a tax-break price tag of more than $1 million each. But a new report by the nonprofit Center for Popular Democracy and advocacy group Hedge Clippers suggests that Big Pharma’s footprint on the island has come with other serious costs: illegal dumping of toxic waste, pollution and depletion of groundwater, and violations of other vital Environmental Protection Agency regulations. The report, released Tuesday, paints a disturbing picture, holding US pharmaceutical corporations at least partially responsible for Puerto Rico’s disproportionately high rates of asthma and cancer. The sum of its findings: a pattern of environmental racism resulting in more than a dozen Big Pharma–related Superfund sites, with the complicity of federal and local authorities.  Puerto Rico is home to some 500 EPA-designated, toxin-packed Superfund sites, half of...
FASHION is meant to be the art form of personal expression and a catalyst for confidence - yet there's still exclusivity within the industry, especially around trends. Some people see specific styles as being better suited for smaller-size women, but one celebrity stylist argued that the opposite was true and anyone who thought otherwise was toxic. 6Celebrity stylist Kat Eves argues that all trends are inclusiveCredit: Instagram / styleethic 6The 37-year-old stylist has worked with comedians, actors, professionals, and private individualsCredit: Instagram / styleethic The rise and fall of trends can be attributed to individual icons in fashion and current social obsessions. As these style concepts continue to cycle through the fashion sphere, space for creativity and experimentation can feel limiting for women who feel underrepresented in them. However, celebrity stylist and body enthusiast Kat Eves refuses to believe that there is any trend off-limits to women of different shapes, sizes, and abilities. “I don’t think there’s any reason why any trend can’t be size inclusive. If you feel comfortable and confident in it, it doesn’t...
“Biden and Democrats are responsible for our shrinking economy, and they’re only trying to make it worse,” Ronna Romney McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, insisted at the end of July. Republicans have consistently claimed that Biden’s policy initiatives — covid aid, money to fight climate change, student loan forgiveness — have harmed the economy and increased inflation. Fact is, the US economy has performed strongly under Joe Biden. That’s especially true when you compare it to European economies. There are a number of possible reasons for the discrepancy. But one thing is certain: Democratic spending programs did not result in economic catastrophe. Republicans claim that government aid is useless and harms the economy. They have been proven wrong. READ MORE: Far-right Republicans trying to disenfranchise 'lame duck' Democrats from vote on critical budget bill The Times’ Paul Krugman summarizes the relatively strong position of the US in comparison to Europe. LIV GOLF has the stars and the money, but no US broadcaster. This lack of a broadcasting partner looks set to continue, with Apple TV reportedly wanting no part to play in LIV Golf. 1LIV Golf lured away many of the game's top talents such as Dustin JohnsonCredit: EPA zThis news comes via a Tweet from Dan Rapaport who said: "Well-placed source says Apple TV has turned down the opportunity to broadcast LIV Golf as it is "too toxic. "Still not clear where LIV will be broadcast in 2023." So where could LIV Golf turn to next? Well, their options seem to be thin on the ground. Rapaport Tweeted: "FOX makes some sense here—CBS, NBC and ESPN all locked in with the PGA Tour—but FOX ran away from the golf business fast when they had the chance. Perhaps LIV buys time on a network. Or they continue going free DTC on their site/YouTube. This is all US, btw." LIV Golf has divided opinions since its inception, thanks in no small part to it's Saudi-backing. A nation allegedly rife with...

Dr. Jonathan Bronitsky served as U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr's Chief Speechwriter and Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice  Less than 24-hours after delivering the darkest, most toxic presidential speech of the modern era, the Commander in Chief is trying to gaslight America to believe he didn't say what it just heard him say. 'C'mon, look guys, I don't consider any Trump supporter a threat to the country,' he told reporters Friday. 'When people voted for Donald Trump - and support him now - they weren't voting for attacking the Capitol. They weren't voting for overruling the election. They were going for a philosophy he put forward.' Let's roll the tape back. Here's what the president asserted Thursday evening outside Philadelphia's Independence Hall, which the White House advance team transformed into a scene straight out of Hostel - complete with blood-red uplighting and shadowed figures in the background. The stage's backdrop looked more like the demonic spawn pool of Satan rather than the patriotic birthplace of our republic. 'Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that...
The North Carolina town whose entire police force resigned in protest of a town manager whom they said created a 'hostile' work environment for officers has voted to terminate her contract less than a month after the mass exodus. City Council officials for the town of Kenly voted 3-2 to oust Justine Jones Tuesday night, during an emergency meeting that followed a monthlong investigation into the department's allegations. The walkout transpired early last month, and saw the small force's five cops, including its chief of 20 years, hand in their resignation letters to both Jones and city council. They were joined by two town clerks who also accused the manager - a progressive black woman who unsuccessfully sued her previous employer for gender and racial discrimination - of creating a toxic work environment for the city employees. Following the resignations, Kenly residents were split on whether the matter was a 'race issue' given that Jones is Black - in contrast to the small-town police department, which is entirely white. In the seven resignation letters, neither the clerks nor the five...
The sexual revolution was supposed to set us free — no more shame, no more coercion, no more female subservience. We were told that a new culture of no-strings-attached sex would give women the opportunity to revel in their sexual autonomy. I used to believe that liberal narrative. As a younger woman, I looked at the hard-won achievements of the feminists who came before me, and assumed that this history was simple: a woman’s lot was better than ever before, and it would only continue to improve. Now we had the Pill and equal opportunities in the workplace, nothing would stand in our way. However, I no longer believe that. The feminist achievements of our foremothers are immensely valuable and should never be rolled back. But the digital age has brought with it a host of new problems for young women, and we are now discovering that our supposed freedom has come with terrible costs. A failure to balance sexual freedom against other virtues like respect, restraint and chivalry means we now find ourselves in thrall to the very worst...
Properly addressing the plastics problem involves not only interrogating corporate tactics but also understanding that some plastics provide societal benefits. Over the past few years, the paradox of plastic as both a miracle for and a menace to society has become a platitude. There are countless stories in the media and popular culture about our fraught relationship with plastic, focusing on our addiction and dependence. However, this way of framing the problem actually serves to perpetuate it. Plastics are plural. There are tens of thousands of plastics, each with different physical properties, including not only flexibility or durability, but also toxicity. By lumping plastics together into a singular entity with both beneficial and harmful features, the double-sided narrative assumes that the two sides can never be separated. By blaming us all for our dependence on plastic, questions of corporate responsibility and unequal toxic risks are avoided. Ultimately, the paradox of plastic conveys a sense of inescapability that the industry can tap into. This excerpt is adapted from Plastic Unlimited: How Corporations Are Fuelling the Ecological Crisis and What We Can...
Forget sea monsters and tidal waves. Beachgoers and fishermen alike are having their summers ruined by something far less cinematic: record amounts of foul-smelling 'sargassum' seaweed that have inundated huge swaths of Atlantic Ocean shoreline. The amount of algae found in the tropical, central west and east Atlantic - as well as the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico - was up to 24.2 million tons in June. That's an increase from 18.8 million tons a month prior and a record high. 'If you put all this biomass side by side, the entire area is equivalent to six times of Tampa Bay,' Chuanmin Hu, a researcher from the University of South Florida who studied the phenomenon, told DailyMail.com. The chaos engulfing many major airports in North America and Europe since summer began hasn't abated much, and news outlets and social media users continue to report on hordes of impatient travelers and mountains of misplaced suitcases.Source: Getty Images Canceled flights. Long lines. Staff walkouts. Missing luggage.  Sound familiar? The chaos engulfing many major airports in North America and Europe since summer hasn't abated much, and news outlets and social media users continue to report on hordes of impatient travelers and mountains of misplaced suitcases. Just this week, German carrier Lufthansa canceled nearly all its flights in Frankfurt and Munich, stranding some 130,000 travelers due to a one-day walkout by its ground staff who were on strike for better pay.   London's Heathrow Airport and Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport — two of the largest travel hubs in Europe —slashed their passenger capacity and demanded that airlines cut flights in and out of their airports, which angered both travelers and airline managers. Carriers in the U.S. have also canceled and delayed tens of thousands of flights due to staffing shortages and weather...
DURING America's wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, soldiers were exposed to toxic burn pits, which have been proven to cause significant damage to respiratory systems. As a result, members of Congress have been looking to pass a new bill that would provide more benefits to those who were exposed, but it failed to pass the Senate. 2Veterans across the country were outraged after the Senate failed to pass the burn pit billCredit: Getty Images - Getty What is the veterans burn pit bill? In June 2022, the Senate passed the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act to help veterans who were exposed to toxic hazards while serving overseas. The bill not only provided more financial support but also expanded VA health care eligibility. “This is an enormous victory for veterans, service members, and their families,” Veterans of Foreign Wars National Commander Matthew “Fritz” Mihelcic said in a statement at the time. Q: Adam Silver has unilateral power, so tell him to call the Nets and have them make up their mind with Kevin Durant. An entire league awaits. – Dylan. A: At the moment, Adam Silver does not seem to be taking my calls. But, believe me, the entire league would appreciate some type of closure regarding Kevin Durant, even if it is as simple as Kevin and the Nets agreeing to move forward together. The NBA is a league that prefers to shut down in August before ramping back up in September ahead of training camp. But it’s not as if every executive doesn’t have cell service with international plans. So Pat Riley and Andy Elisburg certainly can field calls regardless of location or time zone. Still, even for as long as LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard have made the league wait over the years, this one has proven to be particularly protracted. Have you ever noticed an odd taste in tap water during the summer? Complaints of an “earthy” or “musty” taste or smell during the summer are common for many water systems but it’s likely not “forever chemicals” that are giving your water a funky taste. Cyanobacteria or blue-green algae can create two compounds that make an unpleasant taste or order. Source: 40/29 News/Youtube An odd taste in water in summer is likely from the accelerated growth of some algae compounds due to the warmer weather. Wilmington, Delaware, officials said in a news release this summer that it is “metabolites from the algae that are producing the slightly off-putting smell and taste.” The city assured residents that the water is safe to drink and there is no need to boil the water. However, many health officials warn of cyanobacteria found in waterways that can be dangerous to drinking water systems if left untreated. Officials in Tampa, Florida, warned residents last week that algae had been found in the water and could potentially kill pets within minutes of exposure. According...
Chicago Democrat Raymond Lopez dismissed a call by Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) for more civility in “public discourse,” which came only days after she took a stage in the city and said, “fuck Clarence Thomas.” Lopez, a city alderman who says he plans on challenging Lightfoot as mayor in 2023, brought up Lightfoot’s past language about former President Donald Trump as well to better highlight the hypocrisy in her new call for civility. In 2020, Lightfoot held back on the language, but said she had a two word message for Trump, the first starting with “f” and the second ending with “u.” “You talk about civility, you talk about toxicity, she is the epicenter of toxic politics in the city of Chicago,” Lopez told Fox & Friends first on Wednesday. The Democrat and Lightfoot critic added the mayor has “failed our city miserably,” specifically when it comes to rising crime rates. Over the July 4th holiday weekend, 10 people were killed and over 60 shot, NBC Chicago reported. Before the weekend, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown made a call for...

In the summer of 1984, investigators peered into a cave dug beneath the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles and found dozens of rusted 55-gallon barrels filled with toxic chemicals. Some of the barrels lay nearly empty after their contents had leaked through corroded metal and escaped into the soil. “I saw the hole and I said, ‘I can’t believe it — who would do something like this?’,’' recalled Barry Groveman, the head of the now-defunct Los Angeles Hazardous Waste Task Force. At the time, he described the dump as “a violent crime against the community.” Groveman and his investigators went on to uncover 252 barrels buried in similar caverns surrounding a manufacturing warehouse at 141 West Avenue 34, where the American Caster Corp. operated. Some of the chemicals were also dumped into sewer lines. Before the discovery, the dumping practice had carried on for four years. After a hasty cleanup, and as the company’s executives and several employees served six months in jail and paid thousands of dollars in fines, investigators moved on to other cases. The court...
Moyo Studio | E+ | Getty Images Nearly 33% of employees in the U.S. are considering quitting their jobs, while 25% have actually resigned over the past six months, citing "toxic company culture" as their No. 1 reason for leaving. That's according to a 2022 survey from FlexJobs, digging into workers' motives for quitting and how they planned to do it. "People are still considering and actively making career moves for a better work experience that will provide benefits like work-life balance and flexibility," said Toni Frana, career services manager at FlexJobs. "From our perspective, the Great Resignation is still very much alive and trending." Breathing in second-hand cannabis smoke from a bong exposes people to four times more toxic pollutants than those from a standard cigarette, a study has found. The risks of second-hand cigarette smoking have been known for years, but this paper is thought to be one of the first to show marijuana fumes also pose a risk.  Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley monitored PM2.5 levels — a particle type that can worsen asthma and heart disease — in a room over the two hours bong smoking took place, and for two hours afterwards. Patton Nguyen, a master's of public health student at the university and lead study author, warned that 'bong smoking was not safe'. He said toxic fumes released from the devices could pose a risk to children, pregnant women and grandparents if they also inhaled them. A total of 18 US states — including California, New York and Arizona — have already legalized the smoking of cannabis for recreational reasons, with 20 others having legalized it more medical purposes. Pressure is also building on the federal government...
Drinking culture has given rise to a toxic 'mommy needs wine' mentality that makes it 'acceptable' for 'white, middle-class mothers' to reach for the booze at the end of a day but judges women of color who do the same, an author claims.  Psychotherapist Veronica Valli, who lives in the US, argues a normalization of binge drinking has led to women being 'culturally conditioned' into thinking there is 'nothing wrong with rewarding themselves with a drink' after they have 'survived' another day of parenthood.  She notes that the idea has been embraced by pop culture. Social media is full of slogans like 'kids happen, wine helps', while parents can buy baby clothes with messages like: 'I'm the reason mommy needs wine'. However Valli, who is sober, argues that while white 'drunk mommies' are perceived as 'harmless', women of color are more likely to be judged and reported to social services. Drinking culture has given rise to a dangerous 'mummy needs wine' mentality that makes parents think they need alcohol to 'survive' parenthood, an author claims. Stock image  'Cute memes...
The airline industry would be forced to adopt new measures to protect passengers and crew members from toxic fumes on airplanes under a bill introduced in Congress this week. The move comes after a Los Angeles Times investigation found that dangerous vapors contaminate the air supply on planes with alarming frequency, sometimes sickening passengers and crew and incapacitating pilots during flights. Over a two-year period, nearly 400 pilots, flight attendants and passengers reported receiving medical attention after these “fume events,” and four dozen pilots were described as impaired to the point of being unable to perform their duties, The Times found. “Cabin air can become dangerously contaminated with noxious substances, but the FAA and aircraft manufacturers are ignoring this health hazard even after concerning reports of flight crews becoming sick as a result,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), the bill’s sponsor, said in a statement. The legislation would create new mandates for crew training and for reporting and investigating fume events. Planes would be required to be equipped with sensors to detect air contamination. The measure aims...
HEARING Paul Pogba complain about the toxic atmosphere at Manchester United is nothing new. Because full-back Luke Shaw has also taken the opportunity to have a pop at the joyless demands of playing for football’s biggest club. Speaking after scoring for England in Saturday’s 2-1 win against Switzerland, Shaw said: “It’s always important to feel wanted and everyone needs to be happy. “A big part of football is the enjoyment and it’s hard to have that when you’re losing and not playing well at club level. "There are brave women fighting in Ukraine, but the images of people fleeing all seem to be women and children while every able-bodied man in Ukraine is sticking around to fight and maybe die," Maher noted. Ukraine has prohibited most Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 from fleeing the country, forcing them to defend against the Russian invasion. "It's not always a great advantage being a man and toxic though we may be," he proclaimed. "We do sometimes come in handy." "Turns out after 200,000 years, there's still a lot of 'Another tribe is coming to kill us.' And when that happens, you want a little big d*** energy," Maher said of military conflicts. Maher remarked that for years he has been told that "women just want a man who listens" and "won't try to fix their problems. He dared, "Put that to the test sometime. Go over to her house tomorrow and fix her radiator. I bet she loves it." "When there's a noise downstairs, someone has to go into the dark and most women still want...
A SELF-described "CEO of mommy issues" has taken to the internet to reveal exactly why she gave herself the title. In several videos posted to her social media page, she claimed her mother-in-law branded her as a dramatic brainwasher when she found out her son was getting married to her – but that's not the worst part. 3A woman claimed her mother-in-law reacted quite poorly to her son's engagement newsCredit: TikTok 3She claimed the mother-in-law threatened her son in response to the newsCredit: Tiktok The woman claimed in one video that the mother-in-law wasn't just unhappy about their engagement news, but tried to make their lives miserable because of it. "I expected my [mother-in-law] to be happy her son found the girl he wanted to marry, instead she called the cops on our house, stole our dog, tried to ruin his career, and tried to sue me to get my medical records," she wrote in the post. Former United States Secretary of Labor Robert Reich released a new video on Tuesday excoriating the Senate for failing to abolish the filibuster, which he explained is the reason that Congress so frequently appears to get accomplish little to nothing. Most Senate Democrats support reforming or eliminating the arcane, Jim Crow-era obstructionist tactic, which is not mentioned in the Constitution. But two holdouts – Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona – have blocked all of their party's attempts to do so. Senate Republicans, meanwhile, are unanimously opposed to junking the filibuster because of the legislative leverage it gives them. "Why doesn’t Congress get anything done? Well, one chamber actually does. Hundreds of bills have been passed by the House of Representatives, but have been blocked from even getting a vote in the Senate. Bills like The Freedom to Vote Act, The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, The Equality Act, Background checks for gun sales, Reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, The Protecting the Right to Organize Act, The Build Back Better Act. Childhood plays a huge role in how we behave in our adult years but not every child from the same family will have the same traits.  Dysfunctional family roles is a psychological theory which suggests that the role you played within your family will carry on throughout your life, shaping how you behave as an adult.  The theory was developed from work by American psychotherapist Virginia Satir, who studied the dynamics within families in the 1960s.  For example the 'hero' children who were praised excessively for their successes as children will likely be over achievers now but feel a deep need to impress and fear failure an irrational amount. Meanwhile 'caretakers' might quietly carry stress while being too afraid to burden others. While many of these roles mean positive things like the ability to problem solve or focus on goals, some roles mean you are more likely to attract a toxic partner or to suffer from anxiety and depression.  UK-based experts spoke to FEMAIL about how different roles within the family can impact your development for decades to come, and...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's bizarre behavior during Biden's State of the Union address last night distracted viewers from the President's comments and had some asking if she was 'on drugs' or 'drunk'.  Pelosi was sitting directly behind the President and was in full view throughout the speech, that went on for an hour and two minutes.  The 81-year-old behaved erratically throughout, jumping up and rubbing her knuckles in glee after Biden spoke of soldiers breathing in toxic air at one point.  At other moments, she rubbed her tongue over her teeth inside her mouth.  The bizarre behavior inspired a wave of memes comparing her to Jim Carey in Me, Myself and Irene. In one particularly bizarre moment, Pelosi leaped out of her seat and rubbed her knuckles in glee as Biden spoke about troops breathing in toxic smoke from burn pits  Pelosi smiled and rubbed her hands together while both the President and Vice President Kamala Harris looked solemn  Pelosi made bizarre mouth movements throughout the speech on Tuesday night  Some joked on Twitter that she looked as though she'd...
We face an educational reckoning if steps are not taken to address the teacher shortage in the United States. But how can we attract teachers when education has become so politicized? The debate rages on about mask wearing. Some school boards have had to conduct meetings virtually to avoid violent outbursts. Some board members have received death threats, and some school superintendents have been relieved of their jobs. Fights among parents over masks have become commonplace, and we have students walking out of schools to protest mask requirements. Not too long ago, the country was, to some degree, united in fighting COVID-19. There was an expectation that wearing a mask, while not perfect, would protect children from contracting or spreading COVID-19. Such solidarity no longer exists. The mask debate has become a political football with broad implications for the future of education. It’s not civil discourse that is the problem. After all, the First Amendment, arguably one of our most important amendments, gives us all the right to free speech. Parents have a right to speak out. However, it’s how...
Democrats across the nation are embarrassed about the perception of the Democrat Party’s growing toxicity. The Democrat Party, which has pushed wokism, open borders, police defunding, and coronavirus mandates is specifically struggling with rural voters throughout the nation. The struggles have been reported by the Associated Press and Politico in two articles over two days, alerting Democrat Party leaders of the impending doom come November’s midterm elections. “The trend lines in rural America are very, very bad. … Now, the brand is so toxic that people who are Democrats, the ones left, aren’t fighting for the party,” former North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp told the AP. “We’re letting Republicans use the language of the far left to define the Democratic Party, and we can’t do that,” she said about the Republicans, who by the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) internal polling, are winning the culture war. In rural Pennsylvania, a local voter Tim Holohan told the AP the grand dislike of Democrats is momentous. “The hatred for Democrats is just unbelievable,” said Holohan, who reportedly asked his daughter to remove a Joe Biden bumper sticker...
