During a portion of an interview with CNBC on Friday, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall said the United States is competing for military superiority with China, and China has been “building systems that are increasingly capable over a long time now, trying to target those assets of the United States.” Kendall said, “We’re not in a traditional arms race where we try to buy more than somebody else and they try to buy more than we are. We’re in a race for quality. We’re in a race for military superiority, largely through technology, and China has observed, going back to the Gulf War 30 years ago, how we project power and what we rely upon to do that and they’ve been building systems that are increasingly capable over a long time now, trying to target those assets of the United States.” Follow Ian Hanchett on Twitter @IanHanchett
Maryland's biggest county pushed a CRT-based 'psychoeducational lesson' on  students as young as five years old that taught them of a 'dual pandemic of COVID-19 and systemic racism' - and ordered teachers to buy a book written by anti-racist activist Ibram X. By Nikhil Nainan (Reuters) - Commonwealth Bank of Australia on Wednesday became the first major lender in the country to offer its own "buy now, pay later" (BNPL) service, taking on U.S. payments giant PayPal and Afterpay with the promise of lower fees. The move sets the stage for a race to sign up shoppers and stores in a country that is home to many of the world's largest providers of BNPL finance as stay-at-home orders sent more people shopping online. Australia's so-called Big Four banks have acknowledged the rising popularity of BNPL, but none had so far entered the space with their own service. CBA, Australia's biggest bank, is expected to launch the service in the middle of this year, coinciding with the entry of PayPal in a market where BNPL regulation is thin and adoption is high. The lender's new financing service will split payments into four instalments every two weeks with a A$1,000 limit and will be available alongside Klarna, a Swedish payments firm in which CBA holds a small stake. The bank had also participated in...
The Joe Biden campaign or its friends in the media, desirous of a presidential outcome, "cannot call this election," so "please stay tuned," according to political commentator Dick Morris on Newsmax TV. "Only the states themselves can [declare a winner], and ultimately the electoral college meets and does itself," Morris told "Saturday Agenda." "This process has quite a ways to go, and every development from now on will most likely be pro-Trump. "So dont give up. Dont stop watching. Dont buy the Kool-Aid that this race is over." The race still hinges on the ballots still to be counted in Arizona, the recount in Georgia, and contested paper ballots in Pennsylvania, Morris added to host Joe Pinion. "You have this massive fraud in Pennsylvania, and once they recount a million paper ballots, a million and half, I dont think that Bidens lead is going to stand up," Morris told Pinion. Bring it, MJ. The Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas sure is making life hell for incumbent GOP Sen. John Cornyn.   Last week, Democrat MJ Hegar drew the support of the party's top Senate super PAC to the tune of $8.6 million. This week, Hegar followed up by attracting another $20 million from Silicon Valley donors, bringing the total buy coordinated among several different pro-Democratic PACs to $28 million, according to Recode. Anyone interested in sending John Cornyn packing? Give $2 right now for some epic satisfaction on election night.  The last-minute ad blitz in Texas is being led by a little-known super PAC called Future Forward, which is also unleashing a larger $100 million ad buy nationally to help elect Joe Biden president. Future Forward is led by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz. Recode calls the overall cash infusion one of the most "aggressive plays" to date by tech billionaires, who for years have studied the best ways to maximize the impact of money in politics. "Moskovitz is placing his single biggest public bet yet on the evidence that...
Bradley Cortright October 15, 2020 0 Comments Democrats are increasingly feeling optimistic about their chances of taking back the White House and regaining control of the Senate with just over two weeks left until election day. President Donald Trump is currently trailing his Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden, by an average of 9.4 points nationally, according to RealClearPolitics. And as election day draws near, polls in several Senate races around the country appear to have shifted dramatically in favor of Democrats.  Republican senators in states that have been viewed as Republican strongholds in the past, such as Arizona, Texas, and South Carolina, are now locked in tight races.  Senate Majority PAC announced that it will spend $8.6 million on television ads in support of Texas Democratic Senate candidate MJ Hegar. It will run an ad in English titled “Woah” and one in Spanish titled “Importante.” The PAC noted that Cook Political Report changed its election rating for the Texas race from “Likely Republican” to “Lean Republican.” ????New SENATE RATINGS changes @CookPolitical ????#AKSen: Likely R —> Lean R #TXSen: Likely R —> Lean...

Joe Biden’s campaign is launching a $45 million swing-state ad buy to counter President Donald Trump’s law and order critiques. The former vice president’s team announced late Tuesday it was embarking upon a one-week ad campaign pushing back on the depiction of their candidate as weak on crime and rioting. The ads, which will run online and on television, will target voters in nine swing states, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Its message appears to be designed to stem any potential backlash that may be forming against the candidate, along with Democrats in general, because of the protests and rioting spawned by Jacob Blake’s shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last month. “I want to make it absolutely clear,” Biden says in the ad, as images of burned-out buildings and confrontations with police flash across the screen. “Rioting is not protesting. Looting is not protesting. And those who do it should be prosecuted.” ‘It’s lawlessness, plain and simple. And those who do it should be prosecuted,” the former vice president adds. “Fires are burning and we have a president who fans the flames. He...
Restoration PAC is launching a new ad to boost the candidacy of Republican John James in the Michigan U.S. Senate race, the group exclusively told Breitbart News. The ad, titled “Who Will Stop It,” focuses on the rioting and looting employed by radical progressives and contrasts James as a leader to end the violence, as opposed to Peters, a follower, who will not. Restoration PAC said the buy is approximately $1 million and will be supplemented by at least $50,000 in digital advertising. “Career politician Gary Peters doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to the radicals in his own party or to the madness unfolding in cities across America,” Restoration PAC founder and president Doug Truax told Breitbart News. “Michigan needs an outsider in the United States Senate who has the courage and leadership skills to stand up to the radicals in our streets and the radical politicians in Washington.” The group’s first ad in the state focused on Peters’s “non-specific” support for the Green New Deal in November. Restoration PAC is also airing anti-Biden ads in Michigan,...
New York Mets: Repole-Lopez-Rodriguez group is very much alive in race to buy the team By: Andres Chavez July 20, 2020 Follow ESM On Social Facebook Twitter Youtube Flipboard Instagram ShareTweet0 SharesOver the weekend, it was reported that Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez and Mike Repole may be out of the bidding for the New York Mets. According to Charles Gasparino of Fox Business Network, the group allegedly didn’t have enough money to compete for the team and the process would be down to Steve Cohen and the Josh Harris – David Blitzer pair. However, Ken Rosenthal reported quite the opposite on Monday. Repole dismissed the notion that the group can’t hang around with Cohen and Harris Blitzer, and stated that “one hundred percent, we can be competitive. The entire group has more than enough money.” The New York Mets’ sale process is being overseen by Allen & Company, and is currently ongoing. The Wilpons are hoping to sell the team by October, so a resolution isn’t too far off. The best...
