An appendage that washed ashore on a beach in Brazil this week sparked fear among a couple who said it 'looks like ET's hand' when they found it nestled in the sand - but a biologist assures it is of this world. Leticia Gomes Santiago and her boyfriend, Devanir Souza, were strolling along the shoreline when they stumbled upon a giant hand with long bony fingers. Images of it have been seen by marine biologist Eric Comin who said the hand belonged to a cetacean - an aquatic mammal that includes whales, dolphins and porpoises. And based on the decomposition, the ocean animal died around 18 months ago. While the appendage looks alien-like, it is a trait from early whale ancestors that walked on land about 50 million years ago. The appendage was discovered by a couple who was walking along the shores of a beach in Brazil The couple thought it looked like ET's hand, but brought it home for a further analysis RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next NASA's Orion went DARK for 47 minutes...
Balenciaga has once again baffled fashion fans by teasing the release of a line of leather bags designed to look like crisp packets. Fashion fans begged the luxury designer brand to stop releasing quirky products as social media users flocked to mock the brand's latest peculiar product.   The bag was first teased in June, before it made its way onto the SS23 Balenciaga runway, which was opened by Kanye West and models wading through a muddy catwalk. It is unknown when it will be released to the public.  Balenciaga has once again baffled fashion fans by releasing a line of leather bags designed to look like crisp packets (Pictured: A model clutches the leather bag that looks like a pack of ready salted Lays crisps) This...

Strollers left on a destroyed bridge after families evacuated from Irpin and Bucha came under shelling by Russian forces. Bread may be the defining invention of the human race. Or at least, bread and beer. Both allowed calories that were difficult to carry and unpleasant to consume, to be totted around in far more agreeable forms; forms that would, best of all, allow for some degree of extended storage.  One result of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is simply this: Bread is going to cost more, everywhere in the world. Everything is going to cost more, to one degree or another. That’s because Putin’s war has driven up the cost of energy, and energy underlies every product mined, grown, or manufactured. But energy is only a fraction of the cost of most goods. A 10% rise in the cost of power doesn’t directly translate into a 10% higher price for socks … unless the sock maker is just looking for an excuse. The effect that this war is going to have on food, and on wheat in particular, is something else. Over the last...
THERE are two types of people in this world - those who spend years agonising over whether or not to get a tattoo and the others who commit to one at a moment's notice. By her own admission, TikTok user Jessica Williams DEFINITELY falls into the latter category. 4Jessica and her mate decided to 'spontaneously' get tattoos together earlier this yearCredit: @jessicawilliams546/Tiktok 4The 20-year-old wanted this inking which is inspired by The Creation of AdamCredit: @jessicawilliams546/Tiktok 4What she ended up with looked more like 'ET phoning home'Credit: @jessicawilliams546/Tiktok Earlier this year, the 20-year-old and her mate decided they "spontaneously" wanted to get tattoos. In a series of viral videos, Jessica explained: "My friend and I tend to do a lot of things out of impulse because that's just how we are and it makes for great stories." After asking around for recommendations, the women were told about a mutual friend does inkings at his house - which Jessica now understands was "red flag number one". She explained: "He showed us some of his work. His girl was there...
SALT Bae's London restaurant decor has been slammed as looking "like a decaying seaside bistro hosting a cheap Christmas do". One Reddit user wrote: "You can't even claim you're going there to enjoy the ambience. "The place legitimately looks like an early 2000s, recently refurbished casino bistro in a sh** seaside town." Another user replied: "Wow. As someone who lives in a sh** seaside town full of tacky refurb restaurants, even I'd turn my nose up at that. "The ambiance is 'cheap Christmas-do on a decaying pier that does weddings on the side', and those chairs look really uncomfortable." Another furious...

He spoke out after the Pentagon released its long-awaited UFO report to the US Congress last week revealing 144 unexplained encounters of "unidentified aerial phenomenon" (UAP) with the military and not ruling out a possible alien origin. It’s the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon game series, and its creators have some news to mark the occasion. The Pokémon Company has announced a virtual “Pokémon Presents” event on February 26th at 10AM Eastern. It’s not offering many clues as to what to expect, but there should be 20 minutes of new information. You can tune in on YouTube. Unofficial expectations are running high. As Nintendo Life notes , Centro Pokémon and French tipster Kelios have both heard there might be remakes of the DS classics Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. If accurate, these would be closer to the 2006 originals than the Let’s Go titles were to Yellow. These aren’t the only candidates for news, of course. The company could unveil a new mobile game or shed more light on upcoming release like New Pokémon Snap and Pokémon Unite. You might also get news about tie-ins like the Detective Pikachu 2 movie. This could be a packed event, even if Pokémon Day (which will include a digital performance by Post Malone) takes place one day later.
Nintendo’ surprise Direct is almost here, and it’s thankfully easy to tune in. You can watch the 50-minute virtual event livestream below starting at 5PM Eastern. The company still isn’t saying more about what you can expect beyond a mix of upcoming Switch games (for the first half of 2021) and news on existing titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but that does open some possibilities. There are a few major first- and third-party Switch titles in the works for the first six months of the year, including the new Pokémon Snap , Bravely Default II and Monster Hunter Rise. SSBU news could involve new fighters and arenas. We wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few surprises, especially with the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda just days away. but it would be good to stay grounded. Don’t count on news of major titles like the Breath of the Wild sequel, Bayonetta 3 or Metroid Prime 4, even if you can’t completely rule them out.
We know a fair bit about the PlayStation 5 controller. For starters, it has a two-tone aesthetic that looks dramatically different from the DualShock 4 and every PlayStation pad that came before it. (I still think it looks like a tiny robot from Detroit: Become Human.) We know that it features adaptive triggers which can provide resistance while gaming (to simulate the feeling of drawing a bow, or driving a car through thick mud), better rumble — sorry, “haptic feedback” — and a built-in microphone. The lightbar has been moved to the sides of the touch pad, the Share button is now a ‘Create’ shortcut, and the Home button looks like the classic PlayStation logo. But what’s it like to hold? Is the extra weight noticeable in your hands? And is the battery life any better than the unjustifiably-bad DualShock 4? Hopefully Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards, will be able to answer at least some of these questions today. The journalist and presenter will be hosting “a first look (and play)” of the new controller on YouTube...
US coronavirus: Miami is now the coronavirus epicenter as cases surge, expert says Amazons upcoming supermarket could be the first step in an ambitious plan to change the way we grocery shop — heres what we know about it so far Naya Riveras ET Moments: From Child Star to Glee and Motherhood © Entertainment Tonight Naya Rivera has been a fixture on Entertainment Tonight throughout the years. The 33-year-old actress' body was recovered on Monday, five days after she went missing on July 8 following a boat ride with her 4-year-old son, Josey, on California's Lake Piru. Josey was found safe on the boat, and Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub revealed in a press conference on Monday that authorities speculate that Rivera drowned after boosting her son onto the boat after a swim.  "The idea perhaps being that the boat started drifting, it was unanchored, and that she mustered enough energy to get her son back onto the boat, but not enough to save herself," he shared.  ET's taking a look back at our past interviews with the star, from the time she...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A marine creature that resembles the alien E.T. has been found growing in a prehistoric area of eastern Pacific seafloor rock. The “E.T. sponge” has been classified as a new species and genus, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Thursday as it announced the discovery. The creature was found in “an extraordinary seascape” 7,875 feet down, where strange looking creatures appeared to be growing from the rocky seafloor, NOAA says. This “Forest of the Weird” — nearly 850 miles southwest of Hawaii — included an “alien-like community” of glass sponges that appeared… Read More
