A mother of one of the two girls slayed in the Delphi murders case has said she is being forced to 'relive' the nightmare 'all over again' in her first interview after cops charged a suspect. Carrie Timmons, the mother of Libby German, 14, said that she was taken by 'complete surprise' when Richard Allen was charged with the murder of her daughter and friend Abigail Williams, 13. Allen, a CVS pharmacist, was arrested last month with the killings in February 2017 – leaving the area in complete shock. The 50-year-old has pleaded not guilty to both counts of murder, and prosecutors have sealed his arrest warrant from being access by the public. Officers with Indiana State Police are insisting that the case is still active, which leaves the door open for others to be charged. Timmons described the moment she found out about the charges as surreal, but she isn't allowing herself to get her hopes up. Speaking to the US Sun, she said: 'It's been extremely emotional. Of course, I'm excited and happy there's been an arrest but...
Accused Waukesha parade killer Darrell Brooks broke down in tears as he delivered his opening statement to the jury today, the latest display in a trial which has been marked by his disruptive outbursts and erratic behavior. Brooks, 40, tearfully told the jury to remember that there were two sides to every story, while repeatedly mentioning the amount of 'suffering' the parade incident had created - his own included. He insisted that nothing that happened during the parade attack last November was intentional, and tearfully bemoaned the names - such as 'monster' and 'demon' -  he had been called in the press since his arrest. Brooks finally told the jury that he wanted them to see him for who he truly was, and told them the power was in their hands to determine what was truth and what wasn't. Brooks, 40, who is accused of running over and killing six people last November, is representing himself in court after a messy split with his public defenders. On Monday, Brooks attempted to sew doubt in the eyes of the judge and jury when he repeatedly asked witness Sean Backler, 'Who is 'you'?' as Backler told the court he saw Brooks fleeing the scene of the tragedy last November. Brooks is accused of plowing a red SUV through the Waukesha Christmas parade on November 21, 2021. Authorities say, while high on weed, he murdered six people and injured dozens more as he fled a scene where he was abusing his ex-girlfriend.  At least 60 additional people were injured, including 18 children. CAIRO (AP) — An Egyptian court is asking the country’s top mufti, the highest religious authority for Islam, to weigh in on the case of a man accused of stabbing to death a Coptic Christian priest, the leading judge in the trial announced Wednesday. A decision from Grand Mufi Shawky Allam on whether the suspect should be given the death penalty and executed is a non-binding opinion, but it can significantly influence the court’s ruling. The 56-year-old priest, Arsanious Wadid, was killed at a popular seaside promenade in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria last month in an attack that shocked the Arab world’s most populous nation. The prosecution has sought the death penalty for Nehru Tawfiq, 60, charged with deliberately killing the priest and with the illegal possession of a knife used in the attack. Tawfiq’s trial began on Saturday before the criminal court in Alexandria. He appeared in the docks — which in Egyptian courtrooms are located in a caged-off section of the room — shouting “God is greatest” in Arabic, and attempting to recite verses...

The New York City prostitute sentenced to 30 years for fatally drugging four men has asked the judge to serve her time in a Minnesota prison so she could pursue a kinder, friendlier career – training dogs, the DailyMail.com has learned exclusively. Angelina Barini’s attorney made the special request Wednesday, just a day after she was sentenced in federal court in Brooklyn. He asked that she be sent to the low-security Federal women's prison in Waseca, Minnesota. ‘The defendant writes to request the Court recommend the defendant be designated to FCI Waseka, to the extent consistent with the Bureau of Prison’s security and other administrative concerns,’ federal defender Michael Weil wrote to Judge Brian Cogan. He misspelled the name of the prison. ‘The facility is closer to the defendant’s family in Canada than many of those housing female inmates, and has various programs, including one involving dog training, in which she would like to participate.’ The judge has not yet made a decision on the request. Well, this is bananas. According to former President Donald Trump, hurling a fruit at someone can be a lethal act—one that justifies the use of violence to thwart any use of produce as projectile. In transcripts of an October 2021 deposition, filed in court on Tuesday, the twice-impeached former president insisted tomatoes, pineapples, and bananas can be “very dangerous” weapons that justify violent acts of “self-defense.” (Elsewhere in the just-released deposition, The Daily Beast reported, Trump admitted he personally oversaw the pay of a Trump Organization exec whose corporate perks have come under legal scrutiny in a tax fraud case.) Trump was testifying under oath in a civil lawsuit brought by protesters alleging they were assaulted by his security guards outside his New York offices in 2015. Of particular interest to lawyers representing the protesters were Trump’s remarks during a campaign speech in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Feb. 1, 2016, in which he told attendees: “If you see someone getting ready to throw a tomato, just knock the crap out of them, would you?” Asked why he made that specific...
