St Louis police have named the gunman who opened fire at his former school, killing two, as 19-year-old Orlando Harris.  Harris was dressed entirely in black when he opened fire at the performing arts school on Monday morning, shooting dead a female teacher and a teenage girl before being killed by police.  He burst into the Central Visual and Performing Arts High School shortly after 9am on Monday and reportedly screamed: 'You're all going to die'.  He was shot dead by police inside the school.  Seven guards were inside the building at the time, but Michael Slack, commissioner of St. Louis police, refused to say at a Monday night press conference how he got inside.  Slack said he did not want 'to give a blueprint' to other would-be gunmen.  The FBI appealed for anyone with photos or video to hand them over to police, to assist their investigation.  'The gun laws in St. Louis are very broad,' said Slack. Newly revealed footage exonerates the Robb Elementary School teacher who cops initially accused of propping open a door and allowing the Uvalde mass shooter to enter the school. The footage shows Emilia 'Amy' Marin kicking away a rock that was propping open the school's exterior door, and then slamming the door shut as she calls for help after seeing Salvador Ramos, 18, open fire outside the school. The revelations come after DailyMail.com revealed that Marin was left traumatized when cops initially accused her of negligently propping open the door and allowing Ramos to enter the school and begin his rampage. Uvalde police later clarified that Marin did close the door, but that Ramos was able to gain entry because the door did not automatically lock as it was supposed to.  The footage, obtained by ABC News, backs up Marin's innocence.  Uvalde police initially accused Elementary School teacher Emilia 'Amy' Marin of propping open the door Uvalde gunman Salvador Ramos, 18, entered through .@ABC EXCLUSIVE: "I am suffering mentally of course, emotionally ... Three jurors spared the life of convicted Florida school shooter Nikolas Cruz as they recommended life imprisonment without parole over the death penalty. Cruz shot dead 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February 2018. In 2021, Cruz, 24, pleaded guilty to the murders.  Since the trial ended, multiple jurors came forward to speak about their experiences. The day before the verdict was delivered, one member of the jury explained how pro-death penalty panelists showed graphic photos to the holdouts and even brought the actual AR-15 assault rifle that was used by Cruz into the deliberation room.  The foreman said in an interview that there was one 'hard no' who could not be swayed among the jury. In the end, two others voted with that person to save Cruz's life.  The three-month trial included graphic videos and photos from the massacre and its aftermath, heart-wrenching testimony from victims' family members and a tour of the still blood-spattered building.   The jury rejected the death penalty 9-3 after deliberating for about seven hours over two days. Death sentences must be...

A Texas politician revealed that the Uvalde cop seen checking his phone in the early stages of the Robb Elementary School massacre is the husband of teacher Eva Mireles.  She was one of the 21 people who were killed by crazed gunman Salvador Ramos at Robb Elementary School on May 24.   In the footage of the shooting that was leaked on July 12, Ruiz was shown entering the school and checking his phone. He was one of the first group officers to respond to the initial 911 call.  The day after the leak, Texas state Rep. Joe Moody tweeted the picture of Ruiz on his phone and wrote: 'This is the husband of teacher Eva Mireles, who contacted him on his phone from her classroom while he was on-scene to say that she’d been shot and was dying.' Moody is a member of the The Texas Investigative Committee on the Robb Elementary Shooting.  In June, it emerged that Ruiz had been restrained by other officers and even had his gun taken from him in order to prevent him from attacking Salvador...
A desperate 911 call made by a teacher at Uvalde elementary during last spring's massacre has been released - one of several made inside the school during the deadly mass shooting. Audibly hysterical, the unnamed female teacher can be heard begging for help in the harrowing clip - all while deafening shots fired by teenage gunman Salvador Ramos ring out in the background.  Audio of the call was obtained and released Tuesday by a Texas news outlet - part of a wider leak that showed cops' cowardly response to the May 24 attack. The leak saw 82 minutes of never-before-seen security video of the incident made public, showing officers waiting outside the classroom where the killings were taking place for 77 minutes. The leak has since sparked outrage due to its confirmation of cops' failure to confront the gunman as he engaged in the killings behind an unlocked door as other calls from trapped victims continued to flood in. The phone call leaked Tuesday served the first report police received of the active shooter, when he was firing at the school from outside the...
Highland Park shooter Bobby Crimo III was left in a hot car by his mom for 27 minutes as a toddler - with his mother later convicted over the incident. The disturbing 2002 incident was one of multiple brushes with the law Crimo's mom Denise Pesina and dad Bob Crimo Jr had with cops prior to Monday's massacre in Chicago that killed seven. It is unclear if the hot car incident left Crimo, now 21, with any physical or mental injuries that may have ultimately led to the horrific shootout.   Police were also called to his family's home 10 times, to reports of domestic violence. Those incidents included Denise Pesina allegedly attacking her husband with a screwdriver and shoe after he berated her looks.   The report details nine instances cops were called to the Crimo family home in Highwood between 2010 and 2014, often to address physical disputes between the youth's mother and father, Robert Crimo Jr. and Denise Pesina. During one drunken altercation in August 2010, Crimo Jr. told police responding to a domestic abuse call  that Pesina had struck him...
Robert Crimo, 21, had the numbers four and seven tattooed onto his face The Illinois gunman who murdered seven people on July 4 had an obsession with the numbers four and seven, which police are investigating as they try to ascertain his motive. As a clearer picture emerges of Tuesday's horrific school shooting in Texas, there are growing questions over why it took so long for police and school resource officers to get to the killer.  Salvador Ramos, 18, managed to bypass a school resource officer and two cops on his way into Robb Elementary School at 11.30am.  It wasn't until 1.06pm that police in Uvalde finally announced that he had been shot dead.  What is unclear is why it took police so long to kill him, what exactly happened in the classroom in the hour between then,  and what police plan to do now to make sure it never happens again.  The Texas Department of Safety has now opened an investigation into police response to the shooting.  1) Why didn't school resource officer stop Ramos at school entrance when he first arrived? A school resource officer whose job it is to stop shooters was unable to stop Ramos from strolling into the school with an AR-15. The gunman instead bypassed him 'unimpeded', according to sources, to make his way inside. That resource...
