Following the massacre, the town's two funeral homes - Rushing-Estes-Knowles, and Hillcrest Memorial - were extremely busy dealing with the funerals of Ramos's victims. Furthermore, they did not want the notoriety of accepting the gunman's body, and did not want to heap further trauma on the victims' families. Ultimately, the killer's corpse was cremated in San Antonio - 83 miles away from Uvalde - almost a month after the massacre took place.  Salvador Ramos, 18, shot and killed 19 children and two teachers at the Uvalde school on May 24. Subscribe to our print magazine.Ten people were killed and three others wounded when a gunman opened fire at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, in what authorities described as a “racially motivated hate crime.” The massacre took place Saturday afternoon at a Tops supermarket in a largely Black neighborhood. According to police, the suspect—an 18-year-old white male—drove from “hours away” to carry out the attack, which he livestreamed on the internet. Police said the suspect was heavily armed and was wearing tactical gear. “It’s like walking onto a horror movie, but everything is real. It is Armageddon-like,” a police official told the Buffalo News. “It is so overwhelming.” The paper reported that the shooter was “cloaked in body armor and had a military grade helmet”: As many as five bodies were found in the parking lot, the onsite police official said. “Bullets and blood are everywhere,” the source said. Authorities believe the attack on Wakefield, father of a 1-year-old son who witnessed his father's execution, was random. Davis reportedly confessed to police that he killed Wakefield, saying that being high on the psychedelic made him feel "empowered." Witnesses to the shocking crime say that Davis was smiling and laughing throughout the attack. In a statement to the Associated Press, Davis' father Tommy said that his son did not have a history of criminal activity, nor did he suffer from mental health issues. “You think you know your kid but you don't," he told the news agency. “It is possible someone gave him something. That is something we need to find out." Davis faces charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder. He is being held without bond at the Miami-Dade County Jail. The victim's uncle said that his nephew, who worked in construction, was "the kindest kid." "He loved his...

It’s been about two years since Canon launched the full-frame mirrorless RF mount system used in the R6, so it’s a good time to assess the program. The EOS R came out with four lenses, and all of them but one cost $1,000 or (a lot) more. Since then, it has released a total of 15 lenses ranging in price from $400 to $3,000, including standout models like the $1,100 RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM (used to take video and photos in this story), the $500 RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM budget zoom, the $500 RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM and, on the high end, the outstanding $2,300 RF 50mm f/1.2 model (baby pictures shot with this lens). So, in just two years, Canon has developed a respectable lens lineup. Moving on to the camera itself, the R6’s body is relatively light at just 680 grams with a battery and memory card — that’s just 20 grams more than the EOS R. It’s quite a feat, considering that it now has an in-body stabilization system and extra card slot...
