    A wanted man led police on a high-speed chase that ended with an officer deploying a TASER device just after midnight on Friday, July 15, authorities say.  Pennsylvania state police attempted to pull over Lee Kaniel Chavez, 43, of Aliquippa, who was driving a silver Mercedes-Benz with the PA License plate LSE0210, because they noticed the car did not have a valid registration and the owner of the vehicle was wanted on "several active arrest warrants" including "a felony warrant for aggravated assault," police say.     SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A child was rescued at the end of a chase involving a stolen car in the downtown and South Los Angeles areas Monday night.The chase began around 8:35 p.m. when the stolen Dodge was spotted on Figueroa Street near the LA Live complex.Officers pursued the suspect on surface streets from downtown to South Los Angeles and through Baldwin Hills.After about an hour, the suspect stopped on Stocker Street and Santa Rosalia Drive in Baldwin Hills.As officers gathered with weapons drawn, the suspect exited the vehicle. Apparently complying with officers' orders, he crawled along the asphalt to a spot on the opposite sidewalk before officers approached the vehicle.They found a toddler in a carseat inside the vehicle and removed the child.Police say the child has no relation to the suspect.The child was believed to be unharmed, but was being checked out in an ambulance at the scene.A woman, possibly believed to be the child's mother, was seen at the scene running toward the ambulance minutes after the suspect was taken into custody.
    SAN PABLO — A late June police chase through West Contra Costa ended with a head-on collision, multiple injuries, and the arrest of two men, one of whom had a warrant in connection with burglaries in San Francisco, court records show. It all started around 8:30 p.m. on June 28, when a deputy attempted to pull over a Toyota 4-Runner that had been reported stolen out of Union City. The car fled the attempted traffic stop near Market Street and 23rd Street, and ran a red light at the intersection of Church Lane and San Pablo Avenue, where it collided with a Honda Pilot. Everyone in both cars were hospitalized with injuries, including an infant in the victims’ car, police said. The three occupants of the 4-Runner were suspects in a series of car burglaries and thefts in San Francisco, and one of them had a warrant on charges of robbery, grand theft, and commercial burglary, police said.     The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office released the name of the woman they say tried to run from deputies and smashed into several cars and a patrol cruiser Friday afternoon.  Nicole Robinson, 28, of Leesburg, was wanted on a parole violation and floored it when a deputy tried to pull her over on Clubhouse Drive in Leesburg, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. She crashed into three cars and a deputy's cruiser as she tried to get away, authorities said.  Deputies chased Robinson down Route 15, where she crashed into another car, the Sheriff's Office said. Her vehicle died shortly after that.  There were no injuries in the crash. Rescue workers took Robinson to an area hospital for evaluation, but doctors released her shortly after.  Robinson faces charges of felony eluding, five counts of hit and run, and obstruction of justice, the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies also served her the outstanding felony probation violation. She was being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond, authorities said.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte police officers chased a vehicle driving recklessly through North Carolina and South Carolina on Wednesday.According to WSOC, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's helicopter began following a vehicle after a reported home break-in just before 11 a.m., authorities said.A pickup truck was seen speeding and swerving on Interstate 77 near Clanton Road in south Charlotte just before noon.A short time later, the truck went to a Walmart, where the driver jumped out and stole a car in the parking lot.The car then headed north where it drove on a sidewalk, coming within feet of a person standing nearby.Just after 1 p.m., the driver crashed into another vehicle at a different intersection. The driver then carjacked another vehicle, and before heading down Johnston Road.Police were finally able to catch up to the SUV and arrest the suspect.According to WSOC, CMPD said they're not calling it a chase, but said police are following a car.No other details have been released.

    The suspect in a Sunday night shootout with Fairfield police officers is in custody following an attempted traffic stop and subsequent car chase, where the suspect fired upon them during the chase, who was then shot when officers returned fire after the pursuit ended in Vallejo. In a social media post and a press release issued Monday, Jennifer Brantley, Public Information Officer for the Fairfield Police Department wrote that the pursuit and gunfire started at about 10 p.m. when officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 block of North Texas Street. The driver, identified as Patrick Hall, failed to stop, leading officers in a pursuit, said Brantley wrote. According to dispatchers, police are searching for two suspects on the 1000 block of Freemont Boulevard. The suspects had reportedly led officers on a short car chase before fleeing on foot.     State troopers found two kilograms of fentanyl in a Woodbridge man's car after he wrecked during a high-speed chase early Sunday morning, June 26, authorities said.  Alpha Kamara, 24, faces drugs and fleeing charges after the 3 a.m. wreck on Interstate 95 near exit 163 to Lorton, Virginia State Police said.  Troopers first spotted Kamara's Dodge Charger because it had stolen Maryland plates, but when they went to pull him over, Kamara floored it, State Police said. Though, he didn't make it far. Kamara hit a guardrail and crashed into a ditch about two minutes after the chase started, troopers said.  He ran out of the mangled car and left behind a friend in the passenger seat, they said.     Jeremiah James Taylor, 33, allegedly stole a patrol car while intoxicated Monday morning A Colorado man faces a slew of charges after he allegedly stole a patrol car while intoxicated and showed up to a call for domestic violence. Police say Jeremiah James Taylor broke into an unstaffed Park County Sheriff’s substation early Monday morning and stole a 2013 Dodge Durango.  Taylor, 33, then drove the car to nearby Teller County after officials broadcast a domestic violence incident.  He was arrested more than two hours later after he led police on 110mph chase, crashed the Durango and fled into the woods. Deputies found him in the brush armed with a knife, according to the incident report obtained by DailyMail.com. A confrontation ensued, prompting officers to fire shots and deploy a taser. Taylor was apprehended and hospitalized with self-inflicted knife wounds.     Officers who tried to stop a driver for not wearing a seatbelt on Route 46 ended up initiating a foot chase that ended in another jurisdiction as well as numerous additional charges, they said. Hackettstown Police tried to pull over a car driven by Raul L. Diaz, 57, for failing to wear a seatbelt on Tuesday, June 21, the department said in a release on Wednesday, June 22. Despite officers activating emergency lights and sirens, Diaz failed to stop and instead turned into the parking lot of the North Morris Apartment complex on North Main Street, police said. Diaz, of Independence, then parked his car and fled on foot before being stopped by Independence Township Police while walking on Route 46 at Russling Road, authorities said. Diaz was arrested and charged with eluding, as well as driving with a suspended license and failure to wear a seatbelt. Diaz was released pending an appearance in court.
    A quiet sunny summer's day in the suburbs became the setting for the dramatic climax of a police chase this past Wednesday afternoon.  A video, which came via a Ring doorbell camera, shows a black SUV turning a corner and then flipping over twice as it hurtles to the front yard of a home in Rochester, New York.  Multiple police vehicles speed toward the crashed vehicle with sirens blaring.  Shortly after the police show up, two suspects emerge simultaneously from the car, breaking through the shattered windscreen, before trying to flee the scene.  According to a statement from the Rochester Police Department, the two men are convicted felons Javar Marshall, 21, and Nasir Schifano, 19.  They're said to have had two guns in the car with them at the time of the smash, despite being barred from owning weapons because of previous, undisclosed, felony offenses.   One of the men is tackled by a uniformed police officer while the other runs out of the picture while being pursued by several cops.     A suburban Chicago mother discovered her three children dead in the home of her estranged husband on Monday after the trio had spent the weekend with their father. Debra Karels found the bodies of her children, five-year-old Bryant, Cassidy, three, and Gideon Karels, two. Preliminary autopsy results showed all three died after being drowned, Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Newton of the Lake County Coroner's Office said. Their father, Jason E.     A Pennsylvania man is facing a host of charges in two states after being busted by for stealing a police cruiser and taking it into Maryland before crashing a stolen motorcycle, authorities announced.  Pennsylvania State Police troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcyclist who proceeded to flee and get into a minor crash on Sunday, June 12, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.  It is alleged that the suspect, Bloomsburg resident Robert Slusser, Jr., proceeded to steal a trooper’s police vehicle at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and fled into Emmitsburg in Frederick County on Route 15 before bailing from the vehicle in the area of North Seton Avenue. He then allegedly stole a motorcycle, officials said.     A 16-year-old girl has been charged after a stolen car chase in the Capital District left one of her teen passengers dead. The teen was arrested Friday afternoon, June 10, according to Albany Police. Her name is not being released due to her age. Investigators said the girl was behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle that fled from Albany police when officers attempted to stop it near Lark Street and Manning Boulevard on April 4. In all, six teenagers were in the car, according to police. Shortly after the girl fled, she crashed into another vehicle that was entering Northern Boulevard from Pennsylvania Avenue, police said. She then continued driving on Northern Boulevard before crashing into a building near Broadway and Lawn Avenue, according to police. The impact left 13-year-old Tea’Shawn Walker, of Albany, with serious injuries. He later died at a hospital.     THESSALONIKI, Greece (AP) — Two people, one believed to be a migrant and the other the alleged trafficker, died Saturday in northern Greece while trying to evade a police checkpoint, police in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki said. Twelve more people riding in the passenger car were injured, with the most serious injuries suffered by those stashed in the stolen car’s trunk. Both dead were Pakistanis, the driver a 27-year-old, police said. The injured included nine Pakistanis and three Afghans. The car, traveling from Greece’s land border west toward Thessaloniki, was flagged at a police checkpoint earlier Saturday. It sped through, leading police in a 50-kilometer (31-mile) chase until it slammed into a protective barrier.     (CBS4) – A woman is under arrest after authorities in eastern Boulder County say she stole a car after a fatal crash she was involved in and then drove off. The crash happened at 11:28 a.m. on South Boulder Road near 68th Street. The case is still under investigation, but Trooper Josh Lewis, a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol, told CBS4 the suspect took an SUV at the scene of the crash before driving off. She was chased by troopers and Boulder County deputies for about 20 minutes. The chase ended about 2 miles away at Arapahoe Avenue and 33rd Street. Lewis said it appeared the pursuit ended with a crash. So far there’s no information released about the identity of the person killed in the crash. The suspect’s name hasn’t been released.
    A Capital District man is accused of stealing a police car and then leading officers on a chase down the New York State Thruway. The Schenectady Police Department reported that one of its marked patrol SUVs was taken from Ellis Hospital at around 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 30, by someone they had taken to the facility for evaluation, New York State Police said. A short time later, the cop car was seen getting onto the New York State Thruway at Carmen Road heading eastbound before continuing south past Albany, police said. A helicopter from the New York State Police Aviation Unit followed as the chase crossed into Ulster County, where a sheriff’s deputy finally stopped the vehicle by deploying a tire deflation device, according to police. Troopers arrested the driver, Ricky Izarry, age 43, of Schenectady, and turned him over to Schenectady Police. He’s facing multiple criminal charges, including grand larceny, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, and several vehicle and traffic citations.

    MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) — A driving complaint in the west metro turned into a chase Sunday night, and ended in a crash more than a dozen miles away. As of Monday morning, the suspect is still missing. Someone called in the driver in Orono just before 10 p.m. When officers tracked them down, the person sped off, eventually crashing into another car on Bass Lake Road in Maple Grove. Nobody was seriously hurt. (credit: CBS) After the crash, the suspect driver ran off, ditching the car. They managed to avoid police, despite searches by several different agencies on the ground, K-9 units and helicopters. It’s not clear why the driver took off in the first place, and police are still working to identify and find them.

According to a news release from Auburn PD, at roughly 1:30 a.m., the Placer County Sheriffs Department was involved in a chase on Highway 49 that reached 100mph.     OAKLAND — A Bay Area man was sentenced last month to two years in federal prison in a case that stems from a May 2021 police chase in North Richmond, court records show. Grady Hudson, 25, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White, and will serve a three-year supervised release term after prison. The sentence was less than what both prosecutors and the defense requested, court records show. Hudson was arrested after leading deputies on a chase when they tried to pull him over for driving a BMW roughly 45 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone, according to the criminal complaint. Hudson eventually parked his car near an apartment building and ran, throwing a pistol under a car as he ran from deputies, according to police.     SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (CBS13) — On Thursday, deputies were led on a 24-mile vehicle pursuit that ended with the suspect being arrested in Stockton, said the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. Around 3:45 p.m., deputies were investigating a commercial burglary on North Jack Tone Road in the easter region of San Joaquin County when they saw a vehicle trespassing on the property.
