Congress is convening Wednesday for a joint session to ratify the Electoral College votes cast in November's presidential contest between President Trump and Joe Biden. Normally nothing more than a formality, several Republicans in both chambers have vowed to challenge the certification after Biden secured victory with 306 Electoral College votes, compared to Trump's 232. Eintrach Frankfurt is sweating over the fitness of high-scoring Andre Silva, but welcomes Marcus Durham back for a meeting at the Deutsche Bank Arena (kick-off: 5.30pm GMT) on Tuesday in Manchengladbach, Portugal. Latest Click here for the Frankfurt-Gladbach Live Blog! Silva was fit to train separately last week as he suffered muscle pain in the second half of the draw with Frankfurt’s 2-2 win over Borussia Dortmund. Eintracht’s seven-goal striker missed a 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg on Friday, but could show some potential in Germany’s financial capital. Boss Toast will start in the role of solo striker after he marks his return to the starting line-up against former club Wolfsburg with the fourth goal of the season. Stephen Ilsankar was liked by Ayman Barcock in midfield, but the latter got it off the bench, and can recall. There was also a cameo of late for Napoli debtor Amin Younes, who was close to full fitness following illness and tapping. Speaks AD.nl, A former World Tour sprinter and five-time world champion on the Theo Bose track, suggested that none of the passing zones would help improve ride safety at cluster speeds. Bose believes that by creating a sprinters zone next to the obstacles in the final 300 meters, you can stop dangerous overtaking maneuvers and reduce the level of accidents. The first ride to the sprint zone will not be allowed to leave it, so travelers can avoid crossing the road during the sprint. “There’s still no wild west at the cluster pace, officials just explain it a little loosely, but there are some rules that everyone understands and everyone can enforce,” Bose said. “It simply came to our notice then [no passing zone] Prevents riding all over the road – sprinters, but lead-outs. If Peloton’s head is 300 meters away in the sprinters section, you stay there. Exiting pushes you. If you overtake the riders from behind, you will be allowed to leave the box, otherwise you will not be able to get into it. “You can no longer...
Epic Games The Fortnite Season 4 live event will be bringing Galactus to the island, and if what Epic Games is saying is true, then this will end up being a pretty life-changing event for those of us still on the island. Fortnite leakers have already hyped this up as the biggest thing we’ve seen yet in the game, and on November 21, Epic Games released a short blog post confirming the time of the live event and gave us some details about it. Big events like this will usually require players to log in a bit before the festivities begin due to the sheer number of players who plan on checking it out, and Epic is encouraging players to show up an hour early. Something that has players thinking the game will go offline immediately after the event, whether that’s through a black hole or something else, is because of the wording Epic used in their blog post. Let’s take a look. Why There Could Be a Black Hole Epic GamesPerhaps the Silver Surfer can help. For...
It’s finally NBA Draft day, more than eight months after the Warriors last played a game. Tonight will be the most significant evening for Golden State in the year-plus since Steph Curry injured his hand early last season, setting the Warriors on course for a dismal record and the No. 2 pick in the draft. That pick could help chart their path into the future — even beyond the Steph Curry era. Rumors have swirled for months about whether the Warriors will draft one of the consensus three top prospects (Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman) or if they’ll trade their pick for a veteran to help the core of Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green chase a championship in the next several years. [Warriors draft guide: Breaking down the top prospects] Here are the latest reports we’re seeing from NBA media on what the Warriors will do: 10:21 a.m.: In its latest mock draft, ESPN still has the Warriors picking Memphis center James Wiseman at No. 2. (AP Photo/Andrew Harnik)After a year of campaigning, an estimated $6 billion spent on the presidential race and countless speeches, rallies and polls, the momentous election of 2020 is upon us. Held in the middle of a once-in-a-century pandemic, with a deeply polarized country and a teetering economy, the contest between Democrat Joe Biden and Republican President Donald Trump is arguably the most consequential race for the White House since 1932, when Franklin Roosevelt offered the country a sharply different course than President Herbert Hoover during the Great Depression.Back...

Although it’s happening just a little later than usual, Apple is ready to announce its next iPhones. Widely expected to be called the iPhone 12, this year, there may be as many as four different models. Rumors point to an iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and a smaller iPhone 12 mini. Speaking of “mini” things, a late-breaking leak revealed a small, spherical HomePod that looks like a little Magic 8-Ball, and there’s also going to be a white version. The tagline for the event is “Hi, Speed,” which is as clear an indication as Apple is likely to give that these phones will support 5G. They’re also widely expected to have a new design that’s reminiscent of the squared-off look of the iPad Pro. Beyond that, it’s tough to pin down all the new features that Apple could bring. After the iPhones and that HomePod mini, it’s possible that Apple could introduce any number of products that have been rumored. Apple could introduce new AirPod-branded headphones, and those long-rumored AirTags device locators still need to be...
It’s time for Google to formally announce the products it’s already teased and that have, honestly, leaked a ton. We are expecting the new Pixel 5, Pixel 4A 5G, a new Chromecast, and a new Nest speaker. Google is calling it “Launch Night In” even though in the US it will be happening in the middle of the day, as a kind of light joke. Leaks are nothing new for Google, but what does feel new is seeing the company announce its products in late September ahead of new iPhones instead of in October, after them. Another unusual thing is that these Pixel phones aren’t expected to be fully flagship-level phones. The Pixel 4A 5G is clearly a big version of the already-released Pixel 4A, while the Pixel 5 won’t have the fastest processor available. Then there’s the Chromecast, which was already fully on sale at Home Depot a couple days before today’s event (oops). It finally comes with a remote control and runs its own Google TV interface instead of requiring you to run everything from your phone. ...

Apple has announced one of its usual fall events, but this event is unusual for Apple. Instead of leading with iPhones in September, all expectations are that they’ll arrive in October. This month, as hinted in the “Time Flies” announcement, we’re expecting Apple Watches. In fact, there may even be two of them: the Apple Watch Series 6 and a new lower-cost version. The headline feature is rumored to be blood oxygen monitoring on the top-tier models, while the inexpensive models might be given the “SE” moniker. Apple is also expected to announce a new version of the iPad Air that follows the design of the iPad Pro. That will mean thinner, smaller bezels with rounded corners on the screen. It will also mean Apple has to decide what biometrics to include — Face ID or Touch ID — and where to put that scanner. Best guess right now is it’ll be on the power button. There could be more: a late-breaking rumor suggests there might be a new regular iPad as well. AirTags are still floating around the...

White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Tuesday the U.S. coronavirus outbreak is "going to be very disturbing" if it continues on its current trajectory. States with surging outbreaks continue to pause and rollback efforts to reopen the economy while others that have found some success in fighting virus, particularly in the Northeast, roll out more domestic travel restrictions to protect their progress. Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off today. Apple has chosen to make it an entirely online affair, with the keynote beginning a week of sessions for developers. For the rest of us, the main show will be the expected updates to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. We’re live-blogging the keynote even though we’re home and watching just like everybody else. But we figured it would be fun to tell you what we think in real time — and we managed to convince Walt Mossberg to join us! The biggest rumor by far is that Apple may announce support for a new processor architecture for the Mac: ARM instead of Intel. That would be a major transition and not necessarily an easy one. The iPhone is due for iOS 14, and among the things we’re expecting are support for AirTag location trackers, improved widgets, plus a focus on performance and stability. There’s even the possibility of new hardware. Those AirTags could finally be announced, and the iMac is certainly due for a refresh. The event kicks...

The action was in coordination with the closer of 29 West Coast ports.
