Jon Jones is considered one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. This is because the American holds a terrific record of 26-1-0 in his MMA career, and he’s been a light heavyweight kingpin for ages. The 33-year-old legend is one of the most dangerous fighters inside the octagon who has made history in a brief span of time in the promotion. One of the major reasons the American is amazing inside the octagon is his wrestling techniques and skills. Jones has been wrestling with his brothers from the time when he was a kid and looks like the legendary fighter has been trained well. To top it all off, both his brothers are no less than legends in their own areas of sports. Bones has two brothers, Arthur and Chandler Jones. Arthur Jones is his elder brother, who has been a famous member of NFL teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Football Club. Arthur admitted that he used to wrestle with the MMA fighter and always had an upper hand in the fights. This is what Jon...
Left-leaning investigative magazine Mother Jones has taken another shot at Facebook — this time claiming the social network’s “Big Brother” tactics have cost it jobs. On Monday Mother Jones’ news editor Patrick Caldwell revealed that the news censorship tactics of the social network run by Mark Zuckerberg cost it some $400,000 in lost revenue over the last three years. The $400,000 loss was particularly painful when the company had to reduce payroll to offset the coronavirus, resulting in it laying off six people on its 90 person staff, Caldwell wrote in the urgent appeal to readers for funds. “That $400,000 inevitably meant real hardship,” he wrote. “When we sat down to discuss the budget with Mother Jones’ management the options were stark: If we couldn’t find agreement on pay cuts affecting the majority of staff, we could be forced (after factoring in severance) to lay off as many as six people.” The dustup kicked off last week after the Wall Street Journal reported that Facebook, fearful of charges that it was censoring right-wing sites after the 2016 election of Donald Trump, altered...

A pair of Florida siblings — one a paramedic, the other a teacher’s aide — died from COVID-19 just one day apart, relatives and county officials said. Shyla Pennington, a 41-year-old teacher’s assistant for the Volusia County School District, died Saturday, one day before her 51-year-old brother, Gerald Jones, who worked as a paramedic in the county, succumbed to complications from the virus and pneumonia, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports. “This is not right,” the pair’s father, Greg Jones, wrote on Facebook Sunday. Gerald was quarantined on Aug. 6 following exposure to someone who tested positive for the virus, Volusia EMS officials said Monday, adding that they don’t believe he picked up the virus while at work. Jones was later admitted to a hospital on Sept. 14, he wrote on his Facebook page. “Take this virus seriously, wear your masks, do your social distancing, all that,” Greg Jones told The Daily Beast Tuesday. “I know they’ve said it a billion times … but we can speak from experience now: Take it seriously.” Pennington, who lived with her brother, tested positive...
Co-workers say Shyla Pennington, a longtime Florida teacher’s aide, was a natural with her students—patient, kind, and committed to each child as if they were her own. Pennington, who worked for almost 20 years in the Volusia County School District, lived with her brother, Gerald Jones, a paramedic whom community members described as “selfless” and “devoted” to protecting other people. This weekend, both died of COVID-19. The progression of the disease—slow, then devastatingly fast—played out on the Facebook page of their father, Greg Jones. “Our daughter Shyla Pennington is now with God, she lost her battle with COVID-19,” Jones wrote on Saturday. Then, the next day: “Our son Gerald is still fighting this mess so please keep him in your prayers.” Less than 12 hours later, he wrote: “2 days after we lost our daughter we just got a call saying we lost our son to [COVID-19]. Rest in peace my children.” “Take this virus seriously, wear your masks, do your social distancing, all that,” Jones told The Daily Beast on Tuesday. “I know they’ve said it a billion...
