Michael Fanone released audio of his conversations with Kevin McCarthy, in which chewed out former President Donald Trump and Republicans who have downplayed the storming of the U.S. Capitol. Fanone, a former Metropolitan Police Department officer-turned-law enforcement analyst for CNN, gave the network his secretly-recorded conversations with the House minority leader as he prepares to release Hold The Line: The Insurrection and One Cop’s Battle for America’s Soul. The memoir is expected to go in depth on what Fanone experienced when he and his fellow officers were attacked by Trump’s rioting supporters on January 6th, and the political fallout he witnessed since that day. In the recording CNN aired on Monday’s New Day, Fanone met with McCarthy — as the former DC Metro cop was accompanied by Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn and Gladys Sicknick, the mother of Officer Brian Sicknick, who died shortly after the Capitol assault. The first tape showed Fanone calling out Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) as he demanded McCarthy do something about Congressional GOPers who minimized or spread lies about the attack. “What I see happening...
A royal expert who was labelled a 'toxic racist liar' and let go by CNN after she was duped into commentating on by Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview before it aired is threatening to sue the pranksters. Victoria Arbiter, 48, was 'mocked mercilessly' online by supporters of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, namely the so-called 'Sussex Squad', when she and three other royal commentators were conned into giving their thoughts two days before the explosives interview had been broadcast. Days after the hoax was uploaded to YouTube under the title 'We Proved Royal Experts Lie About Harry and Meghan', CNN cancelled an offer of a new contract and she has since lost 'literally lost all of my work'. Ms Arbiter also claims to have been left with 'acute anxiety and depression' following the prank, as well as losing tens of thousands of pounds in lost earnings, The Telegraph reports. The single mother believes she is a victim of fraudulent misrepresentation and is now considering legal action against the London-based pranksters as part of efforts to restore her reputation. She told the...
Applebee's has pulled its advertisements off of CNN after the network ran a very light-hearted video promoting the restaurant's menu amidst its live coverage of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The ad aired Thursday morning after anchors Bianna Golodryga and Jim Sciutto provided viewers with updates on how Russian forces had attacked multiple Ukrainian cities, airports and military infrastructures. As it prepared to enter a commercial break, the network aired a live picture out of Kyiv in which viewers could hear raid sirens blasting.   While the solemn scene was being broadcast, the network played an Applebee's ad promoting five boneless wings for $1 with the purchase of a hamburger as the Zac Brown Band's hit song Chicken Fried played. The scene from Kyiv was still shown in the bottom left of the screen.  'We are deeply concerned about the situation in Ukraine. When we were made aware that our ad was placed in this manner, we immediately reached out to CNN to pause our advertising on their network,' an Applebee's spokesperson told Forbes journalist Marty Swant. 'It never should have aired, and we are disappointed in the...
APPLEBEE’S was trending online for all the wrong reasons after an ad aired on CNN immediately after a news segment that featured the sounds of sirens in Ukraine. Many people took to social media, sharing a clip of the ad to blast the network for its bad timing. “It’s so f**king awkward that CNN will cut from an interview with a Ukrainian family that has had their home bombed and lost everything to a commercial with...

CNN also was being slammed when the Applebee's commercial aired on the network. The cause for the viral trend was not the content of the commercial, but rather the timing. Many on Twitter were shocked that CNN or Applebee's would air the commercial during the live broadcast of Russia invading Ukraine. The viral commercial aired in a smaller box within a breaking news frame of the invasion. Chris Cuomo was fired from CNN after a secret 'assault' allegation made against him by woman he 'badgered for sex' when he worked at ABC, the New York Times reported Tuesday.    The Times said a lawyer representing a woman who had worked with Cuomo years earlier at ABC News claimed he had sexually assaulted her and in the heat of the #MeToo movement, he had tried to keep her quiet by arranging a flattering CNN segment about her employer at the time.
In newly-unearthed audio, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy endorsed a bipartisan investigation into the Captiol riot on January 6, 2021 and said that former President Donald Trump told him he felt some responsibility for it. The interview on a local radio station in California just days after the attack has resurfaced right after McCarthy said he would not cooperate with the now ongoing Jan. 6 investigation panel. On Thursday, McCarthy was asked by CNN reporter Manu Raju about how he had said he was 'willing to testify' about Jan. 6 but now did not support the select committee hearing. The House Minority Leader interrupted, saying, 'That's not true. Ask your question. I'll verify what's true in there.'  CNN has since unearthed two audio clips in which McCarthy called for the investigation and blamed Trump for the attack.   House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy bristled at questions on Thursday about why he would not cooperate with the Jan. 6 investigation, turning instead to attack House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and saying he had nothing to offer the House probe Former President Donald Trump...
A local news station in Washington State aired about 13 seconds of a porn during a weather report on Sunday. KREM, a Spokane, Washington-based news station, accidentally broadcast the explicit clip during a weather report that aired at 6.30pm over the weekend.   Meteorologist Michelle Boss reported that the state was expecting 'some bonus days of nice weather after a gorgeous weekend of mild temperatures,' seemingly completely unaware of what was being played in the upper left corner of the screen. In the pornographic video a woman lying in bed. The camera then scanned down her body and showed her bare backside. CNN aired horrific footage from Kabul on Thursday to show the aftermath of the explosion that left numerous Americans and Afghan refugees dead near Hamid Karzai International Airport. The explosion has been described as a “complex attack” that took place around Abbey Gate as crowds were lined up, attempting to flee the country. Another explosion took place nearby at the Baron Hotel. CNN Newsroom aired footage of the aftermath, showing a horrific number of corpses and people at the scene with bloody injuries. Many of the bodies were seen lying in a sewage drainage canal that runs between Abbey Gate and the Baron Hotel. “It’s just chaos and carnage there,” said Alisyn Camerota. “You see rows of bodies, you see some of them bloody. Some appear lifeless.” CNN’s decision to air the unfiltered version of the clip comes hours after they repeatedly aired it, but made a point of telling viewers they were keeping the graphic images blurred out. The situation continues to unfold, and even though the U.S. has confirmed a number of American casualties, it remains unclear precisely...
CNN potentially aired a “staged” migrant crossing of the Rio Grande, a progressive news outlet alleged Monday. The American Prospect dove into a March 12 CNN report about crossing the Rio Grande in Hidalgo, Texas. CNN’s report, which aired on “Outfront with Erin Burnett,” featured correspondent Ed Lavandera reporting on what appeared to be migrants crossing the river using a motorboat and smugglers clad in black ski masks. During the segment, Lavandera reported “the Rio Grande Valley has been ground zero for the latest surge in migration” and gestured toward “the operation unfolding right in front of” them. “After the first raft crosses, the magnitude of this moment reveals itself. Dozens of migrants emerge and walk down to the river’s edge. You can see that this is a serious operation,” Lavandera reported at the time. A progressive news organization has suggested that CNN recently broadcast a "staged" migrant crossing of the U.S.-Mexico border.  The American Prospect scrutinized a report that aired March 12 on "Outfront with Erin Burnett," in which CNN correspondent Ed Lavandera witnessed the dramatic crossing from a motorboat near Hidalgo, Texas.  "The Rio Grande Valley has been ground zero for the latest surge in migration and here you see the operation unfolding right in front of us," Lavandera told viewers. "After the first raft crosses, the magnitude of this moment reveals itself. Dozens of migrants emerge and walk down to the river’s edge. You can see that this is a serious operation." As the Prospect pointed out, the smuggler guiding the boat of migrants across the river in the CNN report "wears fatigues and a black ski mask." More than 500,000 lives cut short by a pandemic the rest of us will never forget. Journalists are stretching for words and illustrations and imagery to meet the magnitude of the moment. As NPR's Pien Huang wrote Monday, "Losing half a million lives to this disease was unimaginable when the first few people died of COVID-19 in the U.S last February."Huang quoted Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones, a past president of the American Public Health Association, who said "the massive number and the loss of those people from our society has not been acknowledged. We cannot think these people are disposable and dispensable and that we can just get along very well without them. It's those kinds of blinders that sap the strength of the whole society."President Biden and his administration did their best to acknowledge the loss with a tribute and a candlelit moment of silence at the White House at nightfall on Monday....

CNN’s Chris Cuomo denied allegations of sexual harassment while working at ABC News in a conversation with former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, according to audio footage played by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Tuesday. Carlson played a small portion of Cuomo’s conversation with Cohen during his show Tuesday, although the full conversation was reportedly longer. The CNN host dismissed allegations of sexual harassment during the clip and asked Cohen if he looks “like the kind of fucking guy who’s gotta do that.” “You know, I’m always careful when I talk to media,” Cuomo is heard saying. “Do you know how many fucking phone calls I’ve gotten from people at ABC who say that reporters are calling and lying about things they’ve heard about me to try to get stories about me when I was at ABC?” “Guys calling and saying, ‘I heard he was the Charlie Rose of ABC. He used to invite women to a hotel and open his bathrobe.’ Do I look like the kind of fucking guy who’s gotta do that?” (RELATED: Charlie Rose Told Lawyers About His...
SEVERAL progressive groups are asking major TV networks like MSNBC and CNN to air the Republican National Convention on a delay to allow for fact checking. As the 2020 Republican National Convention got underway Monday night, Fox News host Sean Hannity complained that the media wouldn’t air it. Despite that, Hannity spoke over large portions of the convention, as CNN and MSNBC aired it live. Hannity opened his program by hyping up the incoming remarks from President Donald Trump and sniping at the “boring, hate-Trump” convention the DNC held last week. This led to Hannity predicting that the rest of the media would prove their liberal bias by completely refusing to air the convention. “We just received a 10-minute warning that the president of the United States, he will be making remarks and an appearance and be speaking. When that happens, we will bring it to you. We’ll also bring you a lot of the convention, we’ll get to that in mere moments,” said Hannity. “The mob, the media, they won’t be covering large parts of the RNC that we’ll be showing.” The Daily Beast noted that when the DNC convention happened, Fox News frequently kept up their regular prime-time programming as they cut in...
CNN’s Brian Stelter his used latest Reliable Sources opener to slam conservative media figures for repeatedly claiming that former Vice President Joe Biden is mentally and physically deteriorating. Stelter used his Sunday opener to focus on the “offensive” and “otherworldly” claims right wing talk radio hosts have pushed about the 2020 presumptive Democratic nominee. The CNN host lamented that these pundits have gone from dismissing the coronavirus pandemic, to devoting their time and energy to rail against Biden. “This is negative partisanship in action,” Stelter said. He proceeded to refer to a metaphor about the increasingly divisive state of political affairs in America, arguing that right wing media is “especially vitriolic” against their partisan foes. “I want to be clear, there’s a lot of negative partisanship that happens on the Left as well. Disdain and nastiness directed at the right. This is happening in all directions,” Stelter said. “But it is especially extreme, especially vitriolic on the right, directed at Joe Biden.” In short order, Stelter aired audio of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, and Ben Shapiro,...
CNN continued its practice of skipping President Trump's prepared remarks in the now-revived White House coronavirus task force briefings. On Tuesday, the news network raised eyebrows by not cutting in to show the briefing, which is the first of its kind since April. Fox News and MSNBC both aired it. According to Grabien founder and news editor Tom Elliott, even Al Jazeera aired Trump's remarks. CNN only aired the briefing as the president began taking questions from reporters. CNN'S CHRIS CUOMO ERUPTS OVER TRUMP'S GOYA PHOTO-OP, IGNORE BROTHER SELLING COVID POSTERS Several critics noted that CNN, along with Fox News and MSNBC, aired Joe Biden's remarks in full earlier in the day where the Democratic candidate laid out an economic plan and repeatedly slammed Trump's response to the coronavirus outbreak. MSNBC briefly cut away from the briefing to provide a fact-check on the president's prepared remarks before returning to questions from reporters. Earlier this year, CNN began airing less and less of the task force briefings to its viewers after "CNN Tonight" anchor Don Lemon called on the network to not...
