The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Tom Brady lost to a Carolina Panthers team that traded away Christian McCaffrey.  Last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who played both Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky at quarterback. The season has not gotten off to the way many had expected it to go not just for the Buccaneers, but also quarterback Tom Brady. They had the chance of a get-right game, as they took on a Carolina Panthers team in Week 8 that had just traded star running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers. Instead, the Buccaneers were embarrassed by the Panthers, losing 21-3. The game featured it all, such as Mike Evans dropping a wide-open touchdown pass, and Brady throwing some really bad passes. During and after the game, Twitter users asked out loud if it was time for Brady to finally retire.NFL Twitter believes Tom Brady should retireNFL Hall of Famers Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, two of the greatest players in league history, are losing to P.J. With Week 4 underway, the Philadelphia Eagles make a strong case as the NFL’s No. 1 team as its last remaining undefeated team.  There’s been four weeks of NFL football, which means that teams have created four weeks of tape. Unsurprisingly, what that tape demonstrates is that this is very much a quarterback-driven league, and its biggest stars tend to take up the slots in weekly power rankings. But one unsung hero, a young quarterback who has put the team on his back time and again, is the one who exclusively leads an undefeated NFL team. Jalen Hurts, a dual-threat quarterback who has led his team to score at least 20 in every game, has proven that the Eagles can find a way to win no matter the opponent. True, the Eagles have faced some of the NFL’s most troubled units — the Detroit Lions, the Washington Commanders, the Jacksonville Jaguars — plus a Minnesota Vikings team that barely squeaked out a win against the New Orleans Saints. But the Eagles have been as dominant as anyone can be...
Getty Cole Beasley, formerly of the Buffalo Bills. As the NFL season turns to its second week, there are still several established — and potentially high-impact– players available on the free agent market, and teams desperately looking to upgrade key areas. Whether it is the Dallas Cowboys or Chicago Bears‘ offensive line, depth along the Philadelphia Eagles‘ front-seven, or contending teams such as the Green Bay Packers or Tampa Bay Buccaneers scouring for receiver help, they are likely to find help to be had. Here’s a look at the best fit for the top-five remaining NFL free agents: 1) WR Odell Beckham Jr.The moment Odell Beckham Jr. is fully healthy to get back onto the field, he’s going to be an instant-impact, high-end starter for a team — most likely a contender — likely just in time for the stretch run. Beckham was as explosive as ever down the stretch last season, after arriving in Los Angeles prior to Week 15, catching 27 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns, before tearing his ACL pulling down a touchdown in the...
Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Jacksonville Jaguars season prediction. Does the 2017 season seem all that long ago? That was the year that the Jacksonville Jaguars rebounded from a last-place finish the previous year to win the AFC South for the first time since 1999. The club then embarked on a strong playoff run, defeating the upstart Buffalo Bills and then stunning the Steelers at Pittsburgh before reaching the AFC Championship Game. The team owned a 20-10 fourth-quarter lead at Foxborough before succumbing to the New England Patriots. And it has been nothing short of a catastrophe ever since. After winning a total of 12 games (including playoffs) in 2017, the Jaguars are a combined 18-50 since. Former Super Bowl champion head coach Doug Pederson now looks to resurrect this struggling team.Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 season in review 3-14 record 4th place in AFC South Failed to qualify for playoffs Led by Urban Meyer, who was making his NFL debut as a coach, the Jaguars...
Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Los Angeles Rams season prediction. The LA Rams 2021 NFL season may have tested the team to the limits, but all’s well that ends well, right? Well, that’s how the fanbase felt after enduring the emotional roller coaster of the Rams’ 2021 NFL season. How wild of a ride was it? The team jumped out of the gates with a 7-1 record. Then, the team mysteriously fell into a mid-season slump to fall to 7-4. Then, just as unexplainable, the team surged to finish off the season with a 5-1 streak. That success carried over into the NFL Playoffs, where the Rams won four consecutive games against outstanding competition. The hope is that the Rams’ 2021 success will carry over to 2022.Los Angeles Rams 2021 season in review 12-5 record 1st in NFC West Won Super Bowl LVI The Rams’ 2021 NFL season was a very dramatic experience, both for the organization and for the fanbase. Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Atlanta Falcons season prediction. The 2022 Atlanta Falcons will play hard, whether or not anybody even wants them to. Not expected to do much of anything this season, the Atlanta Falcons hope to prove everyone wrong by still playing competitive football in the midst of their most painful rebuild. Atlanta finally ripped the band-aid off last season. The Falcons enter year two of the Arthur Smith and Terry Fontenot partnership. Despite being one of the least talented teams in the NFL a year ago, they still won seven games and were in the playoff mix into late December with a rookie head coach and general manager. Unfortunately, they may be so much worse… Thankfully, this rebuild feels like it is ending soon with plenty of financial capital to use in free agency next spring. If Atlanta ends up with a top-five pick, the Falcons will have the privilege to draft their next franchise quarterback, or potentially a total game-wrecker in...
Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Las Vegas Raiders season prediction. For only the second time since the 2002 NFL season, the Raiders franchise made the playoffs during the 2021 campaign. Despite having to navigate so many issues off the field, including a fatal car crash and a head coach dismissal, Las Vegas was still able to win their final four regular season games, and clinch a Wild Card spot.Las Vegas Raiders 2021 season in review 10-7 record 2nd place in AFC West Lost in Wild Card to Bengals The 2021 Las Vegas Raiders had quite an up-and-down season, as they dealt with more issues off the field than on it. On defense, Maxx Crosby continued to establish himself as one of the best players in football, leading a unit that improved from the year before....
Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Denver Broncos season prediction. The 2021 season was another eye-roller for Denver Broncos fans with more of the same issues that have plagued the team since Peyton Manning retired in 2016. Poor coaching, bad special teams, average or worse quarterback play, and a defense that could get no help from the offense. It’s been the same song and dance since 2016.Denver Broncos 2021 season in review 7-10 record 4th place in AFC West Didn’t Qualify for Playoffs Although the 2021 season started better than many expected for the Denver Broncos (team was 3-0 after an easy schedule to open the year), it seemed like the team came around to meeting everyone’s expectations as the year progressed. Injuries were killer, quarterback play was inconsistent at best, and the Broncos’ coaching and game management under Vic Fangio and his staff was just not good. Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Indianapolis Colts season prediction.` It’s been almost two decades since the Colts secured the franchise’s fourth NFL title via a 29-17 win over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. The team got back to the “Big Game” in 2009 but Peyton Manning and company came up short against the New Orleans Saints. There was the brief Andrew Luck Era which peaked with an AFC title game appearance in 2014. But that’s also the last time the team won a division title. There have been the occasional playoff appearances but it’s a club that hasn’t been able to string those together. This offseason, general manager Chris Ballard orchestrated a trade for quarterback Matt Ryan. He also made some key defensive additions. And this appears to be the most talented team in the AFC South.Indianapolis Colts 2021 season in review 9-8 record 2nd place in AFC South Failed to qualify for playoffs Things did not start out well for Frank...
Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Pittsburgh Steelers season prediction. Considering the circumstances, the 2021 season went about as well as Steelers fans could have hoped for. Despite being heavy divisional underdogs to begin the year, Mike Tomlin led his team to yet another winning-record season that included a playoff berth. Pittsburgh lacked talent on both sides of the football last year, but they came out on top in a lot of close contests. With what they had to work with, the results could have been far worse.Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 season in review 9-7-1 record 2nd place in the AFC North Lost to the Chiefs in the Wild Card round of the playoffs We would have loved to see Ben Roethlisberger make one final push for a Super Bowl title, but rational fans knew that this just wasn’t in the cards. Welcome to FanSided’s 2022 NFL preview! It’s time to look into our crystal football and take a glimpse at the Baltimore Ravens season prediction. The Baltimore Ravens are looking to bounce back following a disastrous finish to the 2021 season that saw them lose their final six games of the year. The hope is that with a healthy and rejuvenated roster, the Ravens will be able to return to the postseason in 2022. It won’t be an easy road to redemption, however.Baltimore Ravens 2021 season in review 8-9 record 4th place in AFC North Didn’t Qualify for Playoffs It’s hard to argue that the Ravens’ 2021 season didn’t fall short of expectations, especially after the team started 8-3 and was the No. 1 seed in the entire AFC. That said, it’s also hard to argue that the team was completely to blame for their collapse. The Ravens’ roster was decimated by injuries last season, more so than any other NFL team. The likes of Lamar Jackson, Marcus Peters, J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, Ronnie Stanley, and many others missed all...
Getty Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll could be getting another linebacker. The Seattle Seahawks have had some legends at the linebacker position over the last couple of decades. While those big names have left in recent seasons, general manager John Schneider has a shot at adding another All-Pro linebacker to the roster. Speaking with NFL personnel across the league, ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler shared a handful of teams that execs believes would be a good trade partner for disgruntled All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith. The first team listed was the Seahawks, who multiple execs believed was the best possible trade fit. “This is a team a few league execs mentioned this morning,” Fowler said. “Seattle’s defensive coaching staff has strong Chicago ties…Smith is well regarded as a player in Seattle, an organization that has shown willingness to make the splashy deal in the past. The Seahawks are armed with multiple first- and second-round picks next year as part of the Russell Wilson trade.” Along with significant draft capital, the Seahawks also have cap flexibility with a projected $13.4...

Sometimes there is a massive gap between what the fans think and what the team thinks about the holes on the roster. Throughout the offseason, several factions of the New York Jets fan base have brutally ripped the team apart about their safety situation opposite of Jordan Whitehead. Now that Deshaun Watson’s disciplinary hearing has concluded, the best solution for the NFL and the quarterback’s legal team is to reach a settlement before retired judge Sue Robinson issues a decision. Watson was accused of sexual misconduct by 24 women and has settled 20 of the civil lawsuits. Two separate Texas grand juries declined to indict Watson on criminal complaints stemming from the allegations. A settlement between the NFL and Watson would avoid an appeal that undermines the collectively bargained process with a disciplinary officer and prevents a potential federal court case. The longer the process drags on, the uglier it can get for the league and the QB. The NFL is insisting on a suspension of at least one year and Watson’s team has argued there is no basis for that punishment, four people with knowledge of the case, including two who were present during the hearings, told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because details of the three-day proceedings were not publicly released. Holding firm leaves little wiggle room for a settlement agreement and both...
Getty Taylor Decker blocks for D'Andre Swift in a 2020 game in Tennessee. In the last few years, the Detroit Lions have been working hard to turn around their fortunes, and a big way they are trying to do this is by getting some better contracts on the books. Getty Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II was ranked the best slot cornerback in the NFL. Cornerback Kenny Moore II is not one of the top 25 highest-paid players at his position. Through the first two weeks of offseason workouts, he’s reportedly not been participating in team workouts in the hopes of landing a new contract. It’s safe to say that analyst Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus would argue that Moore has earned more money. On a list of the NFL’s best slot cornerbacks heading into 2022, Treash placed Moore at the very top of the rankings at No. 1. “There’s no denying his ability to see the game at a high level — his instincts and processing are vital traits for a slot corner, and he checks the box with flying colors,” wrote Treash. Best Buy staffers showed a football-style defense while attempting to a stop a gang of shoplifters from making off with several phones from one of the store's display tables, security footage shows. In the now viral clip, workers at the electronics retailer can be seen giving their best goal line defense in an attempt to thwart the three would-be robbers, who stormed into the store and ripped the three cellphones from a display and attempted to flee. However, during the time it took for the robbers to rip the devices from their displays, observant staffers on the floor were quick to jump into action - with a response looked like something out of an NFL playbook. As the thieves attempt to make way for the doors, the footage shows seven retail workers rushing to block them, shuffling in front of them as they attempt to pass, with what can only be called a football-style defense. The clip of the coordinated maneuver, posted Monday, went viral overnight, garnering millions of views after being shared by a major NFL meme page and later Barstool Sports....
There were 262 picks in the 2022 NFL draft. It will take a few years to know which teams got the most bang for their buck, but we have enough information to make some early judgment calls. To help make sense of the annual three-day event, here’s a look at some of the superlatives from the weekend, starting with a surprising draft-night trade: Best pick: Lions trade up for Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams When the Lions moved up to No. 12 at the price of a first- (No. 32), second- (No. 34) and third-round pick (No. 66), most people assumed it was going to be for a quarterback. So when it was announced that Detroit had instead selected Williams, it was truly a shocking moment — especially for a rebuilding team. The Lions entered the offseason with one of the least imposing groups of wide receivers in the league, but after free agency and the draft, it’s turned into a position of strength. The speedy Williams joins rookie sensation Amon-Ra St. Brown and underrated veterans D.J. Chark and Josh...
The Chiefs added two potential starters in Round 1, but they can add even more value by landing one of these players on Day 2. Both Trent McDuffie and George Karlaftis project as immediate starters for the Chiefs. That, by itself, should allow Kansas City’s front office to feel pretty good about their 2022 NFL Draft class. Of course, the team can take things from good to great by finding value on Day 2. Many Chiefs fans want to see the team find some sort of replacement for Tyreek Hill sooner, rather than later. Taking the best player available is the more likely course of action for a team with as much talent as Kansas City. Everyone it seems has a unique take on that answer, but some sites are taking to pairing things down additionally as the process presses on. Getty The Indianapolis Colts have been one of the best drafting teams in the NFL under general manager Chris Ballard. Although the Los Angeles Rams are a big exception, the NFL Draft is still often regarded as the best way to build a Super Bowl contender. That’s good news for the Indianapolis Colts, as their organization has been one of the best drafting teams in the league recently. In fact, New York Jets beat writer Brian Costello of The New York Post regards the Colts as the very best drafting team since 2017. Costello ranked all 32 teams based on their draft success from 2017-21. The Jets beat writer ranked Indianapolis at the very top of the list at No. 1. “GM Chris Ballard has done a tremendous job building up the Colts roster,” Costello wrote. “They have had seven first-team All-Pro selections among the players drafted in this time frame. The Seattle Seahawks and Baker Mayfield may be an ideal match in a wide-open NFC, plus takeaways from the NFL owners meetings, reaction to new overtime rule, and much more The assumption when the Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos earlier this month was that Seattle was turning the page to a full-fledged rebuild, but if Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider have any designs on competing in a post-Wilson world, all it might take is a phone call. “There’s no doubt that Baker Mayfield is Seattle’s best option,” an NFC personnel executive tells FanSided, on the condition of anonymity to speak freely about other teams. “He’s only 26 years old. “Is he a headstrong guy? Is he a prideful guy? Absolutely, bigger than life, and that’s alright. Pete Carroll can corral that in. That’s what he’s good at.” Seattle certainly fits the bill of a team that could be in the market for Mayfield, even after acquiring underachieving former second-round pick Drew Lock in the Wilson blockbuster. And with $15 million in cap space, pairing Mayfield...
Getty Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton returns a safety during a November 2019 game. The Baltimore Ravens may have the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, but they might consider a trade into the top 10 to select a highly-coveted prospect at a position of need. While a Ravens trade-up would most likely bring one of the draft’s top three offensive tackles – North Carolina State’s Ikem Ekwonu would be an ideal scheme fit – they could also look for a defensive playmaker in Notre Dame’s Kyle Hamilton. Conor McQuiston of Pro Football Focus listed Hamilton as the 2022 draft prospect that best fits the Ravens, who have targeted versatile defensive backs like Brandon Stephens in recent drafts. Linebackers, as it turns out, are a fairly important part of an NFL team’s defense. For a team to succeed and have a good defense, it generally helps to have a pretty good linebacker involved. It certainly doesn’t hurt to take an experienced, knowledgeable individual who is good at colliding with opponents and putting that person right in the midst of your team’s defense. After Cleveland was eliminated from playoff contention, Mayfield stood on the sidelines and watched the team’s final regular season game — a home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans had their best rushing game of the year to overcome 16 absences because of COVID-19 and upset the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday to win consecutive games for the first time this season. Rex Burkhead ran for a career-high 149 yards and two touchdowns playing behind a makeshift offensive line missing three starters to lead Houston to the 41-29 victory. His big day helped the Texans (4-11) pile up a season-high 189 yards rushing. “He’s been Mr. Consistent for us,” coach David Culley said. “He’s a guy that’s going to get north and south. He just knows how to play the game.” Houston had struggled to run the ball all season and entered Sunday’s game ranked last in the NFL in yards rushing by managing a paltry 77.5 yards a game. Burkhead’s game was the first 100-yard performance by a Texan this season. And his work helped them break 100 yards rushing as a team for just the third time this year and first since Oct. 17 when Mark Ingram, who...

A touchdown with five seconds remaining in the second quarter made it 42-7 at halftime. To call Monday Night Football a rout would mean downplaying the absolute demolition. It was never close. Fortunately for everyone who isn’t a WFT fan, that left plenty of time for NFL Twitter to have fun with the game.Best memes and jokes from Cowboys destruction of WFTWFT starting defense tonight pic.twitter.com/rfjcjghWp9 — Ryan Heckman (@RyanHeckmanFS) December 27, 2021 Ron Rivera trying to make a motivational halftime speech: pic.twitter.com/0se0hyXlIS — Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz (@LeBatardShow) December 27, 2021 pic.twitter.com/5xRshiMfJr — CJ Fogler AKA Internet #BlackLivesMatter (@cjzero) December 27, 2021 Washington right now pic.twitter.com/68eZwMuOyl — Bobbilyn Kennedy (@KennedyBobbilyn) December 27, 2021 First half recap pic.twitter.com/CJ0wVMrxWF —...

The Los Angeles Rams looked phenomenal against the New York Giants Sunday afternoon. Thanks to another efficient and precise performance from quarterback Matthew Stafford, the Los Angeles Rams continue to look great this season as the handled the New York Giants with ease. The Rams were able to get a relatively easy 38-11 win over New York and they’re looking like one of the best teams in the NFL right now. And sure, the Giants aren’t a great team this season. They’re incredibly inconsistent and haven’t played well all year. There’s a very good possibility that they’ll be looking for a new head coach here in the very near future. But that shouldn’t diminish how well LA performed and how effortless this sort of win over the Giants seemed. The Los Angeles Rams have been very successful throughout the season so far, but are they the best team in the NFL?At this moment, it appears as if Los Angeles might be the best team the NFL has to offer. With this win over the Giants, the Rams advanced on to...
Major oil spill closes popular California beach Georgia police said a Black woman posed as KKK and sent her neighbors threats to burn down their homes and kill them FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Tom Brady returned to the football town he called home for two decades and did what came naturally – lead his team to a come-from-behind victory in the fourth quarter. This time he was the visitor with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers even if thousands of New England Patriots fans wore his old jersey, cheered him pregame and then tried to boo and harass him once the action began. Brady wasn’t particularly sharp on Sunday – just 22 of 43 for 269 yards and no touchdowns – but trailing 17-16 with 4:34 remaining in the fourth, he took over on a plot of turf he long lorded over and did it again. Seven plays and 45 yards later, including two Brady completions and a huge pass interference, kicker Ryan Succop drilled a 48-yard field goal that proved the difference. A desperate 56-yard field goal attempt by Patriots kicker...
Veteran cornerback Richard Sherman has agreed to a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just one day after visiting with the team, the NFL player announced Wednesday.  The longtime Seattle Seahawks star confirmed the news on "The Richard Sherman Podcast," saying he "went with the best offer."  RICHARD SHERMAN ON POTENTIAL RETURN TO NFL: ‘I’VE GOT A DECADE OF CHARACTER AND TAPE TO BE JUDGED OFF OF’ "I finally had enough conversations and came to a decision that I'm going to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Woo!" he said, via NFL.com. "All the craziness and then all the hate and all the tweets, and then everybody's mad because I didn't go to their team. I'm sorry." According to multiple reports, Sherman had been linked to the Bucs and both of his former teams -- the Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers -- but on Tuesday sources said he had traveled down to Tampa for a workout with the Bucs and that deal would likely go through.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM "I went with the...
"I'm enjoying every minute of it, trying to make the most of it," Stafford said. "We'll see where it takes us. ... I'm trying to be myself every single day, bring my best every single day and see where that takes us." If that means taking the Rams to the Super Bowl, then he'll be 34 years old when he gets there. Until now, being himself hadn't gotten him anywhere, not even one measly playoff win. We always knew that Stafford had the skills, but he was still a test case for the Rams. While he looked like a great player on a terrible team, at some point you start wondering if he was just a loser. We measure great athletes by the titles. Stafford couldn't even win once in the postseason. From a coach's perspective, I'll say that Stafford's ability to step in and lead the Rams to a 3-0 start, including Sunday's 34-24 win over Brady, is testimony to incredible inner strength. Maybe faith. Maybe great coaching along the way. I took over as Roosevelt University's tennis coach...

Getty David Blough before the preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. David Blough made quite possibly the most convincing case to be the Detroit Lions’ backup quarterback during the second week of the 2021 preseason, leading the team confidently in a narrow loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Blough was the man who led the furious charge of the team in the second half, back from a 20-0 halftime deficit.
