Getty Cam Thomas #24 of the Brooklyn Nets speaks at the podium during a press conference at Brooklyn Nets Media Day The Brooklyn Nets are moving quickly forward to the start of the 2022-23 NBA season. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons seem to be returning with a renewed investment in the franchise and winning together. For the most part, the starting lineup is known and will consist of Durant, Irving, Simmons, Curry, Claxton, or O’Neale. They have a deeper rotation this year with the return of Joe Harris, the addition of Markieff Morris, and re-signing Patty Mills. Questions that remain are if the team has enough at the center position to compete in the east and if there will be roles for young players like Day’Ron Sharpe or Cam Thomas.  Cam Thomas impressed again in the Las Vegas Summer League and showcased his impressive scoring ability. We found out this summer that multiple teams have expressed interest in trading for the Nets’ young point guard, and this week, Nets head coach Steve Nash spoke to the...
An elite tight end is flying under the radar in fantasy football. In 2020, Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas scored the third-most fantasy points among tight ends in PPR leagues trailing only Travis Kelce and Darren Waller. Thomas was heavily involved in Washington’s offense, as he was third among all NFL tight ends in both targets (110) and receptions (72). Thomas had a strong start to the 2021 season, as he scored two touchdowns in his first three games. Through Week 3, he was seventh among tight ends in fantasy points. Unfortunately, he suffered a hamstring injury against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. Thomas was activated later in Week 12, and he played for the Commanders against the Seattle Seahawks recording three receptions for 31 yards. During the next game, Thomas started to reestablish his rhythm with three receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown, but Thomas ended up tearing his ACL. He was placed on the injured reserve, and he missed the remainder of the season.Fantasy Football: Logan Thomas is being undervaluedComing off an ACL injury, Thomas...
THOMAS TUCHEL will sensationally QUIT Chelsea after growing frustrated at this summer's transfer activity, according to Piers Morgan. The Blues are in a real period of transition after American Todd Boehly took over at the club in a £4.25billion deal, replacing Roman Abramovich after he was slapped with sanction over his ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin. 2Piers Morgan has tipped Thomas Tuchel to quit Chelsea this season over his transfer frustrationsCredit: Rex 2Chelsea will miss out on the top four, predicts Piers Morgan The West Londoners have already signed Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, but have missed out on a host of top targets, such as Raphinha and Jules Kounde, to Barcelona. And Piers is tipping rouble-deprived Chelsea to struggle in 2022-23 - and Tuchel to quit as a result. He told SunSport: "Thomas Tuchel will walk once Chelsea’s season hits the buffers around late February and his frustration explodes at not having Vladimir Putin’s pal Roman Abramovich to buy him out of trouble." Piers also revealed he's tipping Chelsea to FAIL in their hunt for a Champions...
From Bob Melvin’s winter departure to the flurry of trades in the spring, this A’s season was always meant to be a transactional, transitional and trying time. The growing pains were expected. Perhaps no player has personified the A’s process more than rookie Cristian Pache, the exciting center fielder who’s hitting struggles earned him a ticket to Triple-A Las Vegas two weeks ago. But because of what’s happened for Pache in Vegas means he won’t be staying in Vegas for too much longer. The 23-year-old is doing the sort of things the A’s envisioned when they acquired him from the Braves in the Matt Olson deal this spring – albeit at a minor league level. Coming into Wednesday night’s game, he’s hitting .364 with an OPS of 1.042 since being optioned to Vegas on June 30. Pache has a home run and seven RBIs in eight games. As small sample sizes go, it’s been an astounding one for Pache, who’s Triple-A batting line so far is at a superstar level — .364/.436/.606. His strikeout rate is 15% and his...

But the duo are claimed to be fit in time for pre-season training, with first team players due back at London Colney on Monday. THOMAS TUCHEL ended speculation that he plans to leave Chelsea by committing his future to the club. There have been rumours swirling that Tuchel could quit the Blues due to the club's crippling sanctions. 1Thomas Tuchel has pledged his future to Chelsea amid rumours he was planning to quit due to the club's sanctionsCredit: Rex Restrictions imposed on outgoing Blues owner Roman Abramovich has affected the club's business plans off the pitch. The most crippling of those sanctions include a transfer ban that means Chelsea cannot buy any players while Abramovich rules the roost. And it was reported by The Times that the sanctions had made Tuchel's position untenable. But Tuchel has come out to quell the rumours in a huge boost to the West Londoners. GLENN HODDLE says Chelsea would be mad to get rid of Thomas Tuchel if he ends this season without adding to his trophy haul. The Blues welcome Real Madrid to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash before the second leg at the Bernabeu next Tuesday. 3Tuchel has already won three trophies as Chelsea boss, including the Champions LeagueCredit: AFP 3Hoddle doesn't want to see Chelsea get rid of Tuchel too soonCredit: Getty Five days later, Chelsea can book an FA Cup final spot for the third successive year if they beat Crystal Palace in the semis at Wembley. But with them 14 points adrift in the title race, failure to progress in either competition would see Chelsea’s season practically over before mid-April. Yet Hoddle, Blues boss from 1993 to 1996, said: “Chelsea have one of the best managers in Europe. Why would you even contemplate letting him go? “They are third right now and will be in the Champions League next season. Read More SportBLUES NEWS US billionaire Ken Griffin flies...
MANCHESTER UNITED's board MUST take Jamie Carragher's advice and do everything they can to appoint Thomas Tuchel as the next permanent manager. The upheaval at Chelsea means that Tuchel’s position may become problematic between now and the summer. 1Man United should go all out to bring in Tuchel as new managerCredit: PA United were knocked out of the Champions League by Atlético Madrid on Tuesday evening. Although the Red Devils are mathematically still in the race to qualify for the Champions League next season via the Premier League, given their indifferent form there are not many United supporters who think they will. But, whether it’s the Champions League, Europa League or no European football at all next season, the big talking point amongst supporters is who will be in the dugout. United, as Gary Neville has said on numerous occasions, must go for “best in class”. But what exactly does that mean in relation to United’s pursuit of a new manager, and...

The Warriors have an open 15th roster spot, and it looks like they may use training camp to determine who — most likely a reserve guard — gets that spot. © Provided by NBC Sports Gary Payton II played for the Warriors in Summer League and has a contract guarantee that hits during camp, forcing the Warriors to make a decision. Mychal Mulder had this same role for the Warriors last season and will be back in training camp. CHELSEA are looking to pull off the biggest transfer deal in their history this summer, in fact one of the most lucrative in footballing history. I am of course talking about Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, who the club look to still be prioritising. Chelsea's fringe players are back training with the team But it will take a significantly large amount to land the rising superstar from Norway. Chelsea have also been linked with signing players in a number of other positions this summer, including centre back, right wing-back, and centre midfield. Should Chelsea manage to pay the reported £150million needed to sign Haaland, you'd imagine there wont be too much left in the transfer budget to sign any more players. So this is where the fringe and youth players could come in to play. It's all about wise balance. Every single player at Chelsea has a chance to prove themselves and earn a spot in Thomas Tuchel's squad going forward, and the majority of them are all back in pre-season training under him this week. Many of the first...

THOMAS TUCHEL will reportedly be forced to ‘make the most’ out of struggling Chelsea duo Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. L’Equipe claims the new Blues boss has been bought in to get the best out of the German duo. 2Thomas Tuchel will be forced to rely on Timo Werner and Kai HavertzCredit: Getty Images - Getty And he will have to rely on them as two key players whether he likes it or not. Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia has reportedly informed Tuchel of the board’s plans for Werner and Havertz. And the tactician knows he will need to get them firing if he is to succeed at Stamford Bridge. Werner, 24, cost £47.5million to sign from RB Leipzig last summer. He scored 34 times in his final season with the Bundesliga outfit. But Werner has managed just ten goals for the Blues, even going 14 games without hitting the back of the net. Meanwhile, Havertz, 21, cost an eye-watering £71m from Bayer Leverkusen. And he has managed just five goals during an injury-hit first season in English football. BET OF...

A move for a new striker is already thought to be underway and the Mail report on the Blues targeting 20-year-old Haaland. Competition promises to come from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, although Haaland may be second choice to their respective top targets of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi. Borussia Dortmund would demand an extravagant fee although German media insist the club would not allow him to leave cheaply even if they miss out on a lucrative spot in next season's Champions League. THOMAS TUCHEL will become Chelsea’s new boss under orders to make them title  contenders THIS season. HAD it not been for sod’s law Thomas Frank would have been meeting Brendan Rodgers this weekend as a Premier League equal. But if the Dane eventually does lead Brentford into the Premier League, it will be a fairytale to rival Leicester’s 2016 title triumph. 6Thomas Frank celebrates leading Brentford to last season's play-off final 6But Brentford's joy was to turn to despair as they suffered heartbreak in the Championship play-off final as Fulham clinched promotion to the top flight The heartbreak of losing to Fulham in August’s Championship play-off final still rankles slightly. Frank sighs: “As Brentford manager, I’ve faced Fulham four times, kept clean sheets in 90 minutes in every game and beaten them on three occasions. “And yet Joe Bryan scores their only goals against us in the space of 12 extra-time minutes at Wembley with a wonder strike and from a mistake. It’s the fine margins of football.” It is also the law of sod, Thomas. After an incredible eight-match winning streak where they swept aside all-comers including Fulham, they lost both their final league games...
The Minnesota Twins blasted a major league record 307 home runs last season. At one point last year, there was talk of “normalizing” baseballs by testing them in humidors in certain ballparks. The Colorado Rockies have used a humidor to normalize baseballs because of the altitude in Denver. It’s unclear whether such a plan could become reality for other clubs this season. But there is not, at least as the 60-game season has begun, a humidor for baseballs at Target Field, where balls are stored in an equipment room. That should be good news for the Twins, who enjoyed two homers by Max Kepler in the season opener against the White Sox in Chicago on Friday evening. At Target Field in July, baseballs fly especially well. The Twins are working on a plan that, if approved by Gov. Tim Walz and Minnesota health officials, they hope would allow fans, although on a limited basis, to attend games later this season at Target Field. A good guess, depending on the status of coronavirus, would be roughly 10,000 people, about one-fourth of...
