Meghan and Harry's upcoming Netflix documentary may criticise the Royal family and even the public over the way the couple feel they have been treated. The series is reportedly due for release on Thursday and royal sources have already claimed they expect the show would be 'Oprah with more crying.' But a hint of what viewers may get to experience also emerged this morning in details of a conversation Harry had with a friend before the sit-down with the chat show Queen. Senior sources told the Sun he had expected the Royal Family to find the interview 'quite shocking', and that 'those Brits need to learn a lesson.' Taylor Swift fans are now suing Ticketmaster over the November 15 presale ticket debacle for her Eras Tour. A couple dozen fans of the superstar, 32, are reportedly suing the company for 'fraud, price fixing and antitrust violations' as well as 'intentional deception' as they claim the ticketing giant allowed scalpers to snap up tickets according to TMZ. The lawsuit claims that because the company is in control of the primary ticket sale market as well as the secondary market, they were 'eager to allow' scalpers into the presale event as they would get 'additional fees' for every resold ticket.  Lawsuit! Taylor Swift fans are now suing Ticketmaster over the November 15 presale ticket debacle for her Eras Tour; Swift pictured Sep 2022 The fans participating in the lawsuit added that even if Ticketmaster didn't intentionally create an environment that was scalper and bot friendly, they were still not properly prepared for the number of potential fans that would attempt to get tickets. New York City Mayor Eric Adams may be dealing with rising crime and a homeless problem but he's made it clear that he's willing to pay big money for someone who can get rid of the city's rats.  Adams announced a job posting for what he's terming the Big Apple's 'Rat Czar' on Thursday, more formally known as Citywide Director of Rodent Mitigation.  The job, which pays between $120,000 to $170,000, is being listed for anyone with a background of urban planning, project management or government work, but it seems the Democrat mayor wants someone with flair for the position. Adams tweeted: 'There's NOTHING I hate more than rats. If you have the drive, determination and killer instinct needed to fight New York City's relentless rat population - then your dream job awaits.' The description goes even further, describing the job as doing 'the impossible' in stopping the city's rats.  New York City Mayor Eric Adams may be dealing with rising crime and a homeless problem but he's made it clear that he's willing to pay big money for someone...
THEY last played together 17 years ago, but El Hadji Diouf still could not resist another pop at Steven Gerrard when quizzed on England’s last-16 clash with Senegal. Settling into an open carriage for a birthday drive through Windsor, the Queen had an unexpected surprise. On the seat lay a bouquet of flowers and, beside it, a card in an envelope. First she smelled the flowers; then she opened the envelope and looked at the card, before bursting into laughter. The card, which was signed by staff in the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, where the carriages and horses are kept, pictured the Muppet character Miss Piggy. ‘I thought: “Well, she can’t sack us all,” ’ said palace coachman Alfred Oates, who worked for the Queen for 57 years. ‘But there she was, as the crowds could see, laughing the whole way round.’ Miss Piggy is a character created by Jim Henson Animation for The Muppet Show TV-Series, which originally aired between 1976-1981 in the US Queen Elizabeth II arrives for the 2007 Royal Variety Performance at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 2 Next William and Kate's star-studded US awards bash is a 'good... By Ella Nilsen | CNN Workers with the water district in Wenden, Arizona, saw something remarkable last year as they slowly lowered a camera into the drought-stricken town’s well: The water was moving. But the aquifer which sits below the small desert town in the southwestern part of the state is not a river; it’s a massive, underground reservoir which stores water built up over thousands of years. And that water is almost always still. Gary Saiter, a longtime resident and head of the Wenden Water Improvement District, said the water was moving because it was being pumped rapidly out of the ground by a neighboring well belonging to Al Dahra, a United Arab Emirates-based company farming alfalfa in the Southwest. Al Dahra did not respond to multiple requests for comment on this story. “The well guys and I have never seen anything like this before,” Saiter told CNN. The farm was “pumping and it was sucking the water through the aquifer.” Groundwater is the lifeblood of the rural Southwest, but just as the Colorado River Basin is in crisis,...
by Scott McClallen   Nineteen vape detectors, $550,000 in equity coaching, motion sensors, and metal detectors are some items deleted from Michigan schools’ initial COVID spending plans. The Center Square discovered the removed spending by filing more than 100 records requests to school districts statewide in an attempt to learn how schools plan to spend more than $6 billion in recovery pandemic funds. Kevin Walters, supervisor of Grants Coordination and School Support for the Michigan Department of Education, said that the state worked with school districts to ensure allowable spending. “If an item is blatantly unallowable, we will note that, and they will remove it from the budget completely and replace it with an item that is allowable,” Walters said in a phone interview. MDE can also ask follow-up questions about items. The 2021 applications were “how schools intended to spend funds after meaningful consultation with their local community,” Walters said. “That does not mean that those items are approved.” “Even when some local communities say this is important, it still has to meet the letter of the law to be...
Sometimes it is the outside conversation that confirms the ascension. So even beyond the 38 points that Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo put on the visiting Washington Wizards in Friday night’s 110-107 victory, what might have resonated even more were the postgame comments of Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis. “I don’t remember,” Porzingis said, when he played like this.” Considering Adebayo’s career high is 41, it’s not as if there have been many such games for Adebayo. But in setting career bests with 22 shots, 15 baskets and 30 points in the paint, it was another sign of a player bent on a more aggressive approach, which has been a point of emphasis this season. “That’s one of those games where he shows his dominance of a big, and that’s on both ends of the floor,” point guard Kyle Lowry said, with the Heat shifting their focus to Sunday’s 5 p.m. game against the Atlanta Hawks at the start of a four-game trip. “But we don’t want him to have to do it every night, but it’s great to see it....
A Croatian newspaper has hit back at Canada manager John Herdman by putting a photoshopped image of him naked on their front cover – days after he boldly claimed his side will 'F' Croatia up when they next meet. In retaliation to his remarks, Croatia daily tabloid newspaper 24 Sata (24 Hours) ran the fullpage photo of a naked Herdman with Maple Leaf-shaped Canadian flags over his mouth and manhood, along with the headline that translated to: 'You have the mouth, but do you have the balls as well?' The war of words started in the moments after Canada lost their first World Cup match in 36 years, outplaying Belgium for much of a 1-0 defeat, which saw an emotional Herdman revealed in a on-field interview what he had just told his players during a post-match huddle. 'I told them they belong here. And we're going to go and eff Croatia,' the coach said with a smile, using a single letter to avoid a televised profanity. 'That's as simple as it gets.' His words reverberated all the way to Zagreb with Sunday's game now...
A Washington Post journalist called out the White House for misleading reporters about who was allowed to cover the wedding of President Joe Biden's granddaughter. Ashley Parker said the White House's characterization about who in the press would be granted access to the White House wedding of Naomi Biden was akin to lies she heard the Trump administration tell during her coverage.  Parker, a political correspondent for the Washington Post, said lies from Trump were 'shameless,' while those from Biden were 'too cute by half.'  She and other reporters complained they were told by White House press secretary Karine Jeanne-Pierre that the wedding would be a closed, private affair, only to see Vogue publish a story of exclusive photos of the wedding party. As the journalists' ire rained down across Twitter, it was revealed that Vogue photographers did not attend the actual wedding, but instead staged a photo shoot days beforehand. Parker doubled down on her complaints, saying that the wedding flub was far from the Biden administration's only lie, and said they had lied about attendees at presidential meetings, and...

Some Apple earbuds can work as well as hearing aids and could help a large number of people with hearing loss to find more affordable devices.  One in eight people in the U.S. aged 12 or older has hearing loss in both ears, according to the National Institutes of Health. However, professional hearing aids are quite expensive and require multiple visits to audiologists for tuning.  A group of scientists wanted to discover whether AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro, which are widely available and cost $129 or $249 respectively, can work as well as hearing aids. The premium hearing aid used in the study cost $10,000 and the basic type cost $1,500. The Air Pods Pro have a built-in noise canceling feature - and the scientists note that AirPods Pro met four out of five technology standards for hearing aids. Users just have to press and hold the force sensor on either AirPod to switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode (the latter allows outside sound in). PALM BEACH, Florida – As the November 8, 2022, election night results rolled in to Mar-a-Lago, the resort membership club and primary residence of 45th U.S. President Donald J. Trump, he was uncharacteristically reserved in his comments and interactions with those in attendance. With some polls closing as early as 7 p.m. Eastern time, including the swing state of Georgia, it became evident early on in the evening that the forecasted “red tsunami” was going to fall well short of predictions. Known for his political savvy, Trump’s simple comment, “Interesting evening,” may have been alluding to the eventual election results. Trump portrayed a relaxed demeanor, even though he had worked as hard as anybody during the election cycle. In the 2022 election cycle, the former president endorsed over 330 candidates, hosted 30 rallies over 17 states, hosted 50 in-person fundraisers, delivered remarks on over 60 telerallies and automated calls, raised nearly $300 million and spent $16.4 from his Make America Great Again Inc. Super PAC during the final five weeks leading up to the election, as detailed in a memorandum...
King Charles is hiring a new Head of Royal Correspondence and the successful candidate will get paid up to £60,000-a-year to answer the family's letters. The new role is based within the Private Secretary's Office in Buckingham Palace and consists of 37.5 hours a week spread across five days. The job overview - which appeared on the Royal Household's website yesterday - describes how the King, Queen Consort and the Prince and Princess of Wales all receive a 'high volume' of letters from the public.  As such, the Royal Family are looking for someone who can 'thoughtfully and sensitively handle' their correspondence. Along with penning 'standard replies' to birthday and wedding anniversary well-wishers, the household are looking for someone who can write 'individually crafted responses' too.  The Queen - who died in September - used to receive about 200 letters per day, which amassed to over 70,000 per year.  King Charles is looking for a new Head of Royal Correspondence to answer letters for him, the Queen Consort and the Prince and Princess of Wales. President Joe Biden drew laughs from a rally crowd by roasting Republican threats to impeach him if they take over Congress in the midterms. On Friday night, the president spoke to a crowd of supporters of Congressional Candidate Mike Levin who rallied at Miracosta College in San Diego, California. According to Biden, the house was packed, and “they told me there were something like four or five hundred who couldn’t get in.” Biden got some laughs from the crowd when he brought up persistent demands for his impeachment from some Republicans, mocking those demands as without basis: Well, folks, if we can’t unite this country, we got a gigantic problem. No democracy can be sustained without the informed consent of the people and everybody joining. Not a joke. And we used to — in the old days, when I was a United States senator, we’d argue like hell with one another, disagree fundamentally, and go down to the Senate dining room and have lunch together. Because we disagreed on the issues, but we agreed on the notion that the institutions...

The two wives of a dead 'serial killer,' who has been accused by his daughter of murdering up to to 70 women, killed themselves, police reports said.  Donald Dean Studey, who died in 2013, has been accused of killing between 50 and 70 people on his Iowa property.  Many have speculated that Studey's two late wives were also murdered by the alleged killer, but police reports say otherwise.   Both of Studey wives killed themselves, police said. One reportedly died by strangulation and the other shot herself.  The revelation comes after Studey's name has been brought up in the news after his daughter Lucy said she knew 'where the bodies were buried.'  Lucy claimed her father forced her and her siblings to dump bodies of women he killed into a 100-foot well on their Green Hollow Road farmland decades ago.  However, her older sister Susan rejected the accusations and said their father was strict, but certainly not a killer.  'My father was not the man she makes him out to be,' Susan Studey told Newsweek. Police are investigating allegations that a farmer in Iowa murdered up to 70 women – after his daughter told authorities ‘I know where the bodies are buried’. Lucy Studey claims that her father Donald Dean Studey was a serial killer who forced her and her siblings to transport bodies of women he killed into a 100ft well. She told authorities that she was forced to use a wheelbarrow in the warmer months and a toboggan in winter to move the corpses across the farmland in Thurman, Iowa. Duffield previously stated that she would leave the Labour Party along with a number of other women if Izzard was included on an all-woman short list to become the party's candidate for the Sheffield Central region in the next general election. "I will not be a hypocrite and I won’t lie and I won’t say that a man is a woman. Eddie Izzard is not a woman," Duffield said late last month. "I’m absolutely not the only Labour woman MP who will leave the party if Eddie Izzard gets on to an all-women short list." Labour leader Keir Starmer has not yet revealed whether or not Izzard would be included on the list. The Daily Mail indicated that Starmer is aware of Duffield's position on the matter and suggested that while "for 99.9 per cent of women,...

The song “I’m Just Wild About Harry” was written in 1921 years ago and popularized by Judy Garland in 1939, but it’s having a comeback moment this month thanks to an unlikely figure: Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader. Fans have taken to calling him ‘Hometown Harrison’ or ‘Darth Bader’ on Twitter but John Sterling, the longtime radio play-by-play announcer, has made it the signature home run call for Bader in the postseason. That call has been getting plenty of play in October as Bader has blasted four of them in the playoffs. “I think it’s wonderful and I would love to make him continue to do that as often as possible,” Bader said. The Bronxville native is having a monster postseason for his hometown team, having reached base in six of seven games and in 10 of his 26 plate appearances. He’s slashing .273/.385/.818 with four home runs, five runs scored, five RBI and three walks. Opposing pitchers sure haven’t been wild about Harry. “He’s had an outstanding postseason, obviously,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Saturday afternoon before Game 3 of...

THE cost of energy is expected to go up this winter, but there are several things you can do to lower the burden on your bills. The price of natural gas is rising again as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has cut production by two million barrels a day. 1Erin Shine has been in sustainability for the last 16 years This winter, heating costs are set to rise by 17.2 percent from the same period last year, according to the National Energy Assistance Directors Association. Sustainability expert Erin Shine and founder of Attainable Home anticipates that energy bills will keep up with the general inflation rate, which last clocked in at 8.2 percent for September.  “My best idea is that it's going to keep up with general inflation like eight to 15%,” he told The Sun. “The last year or so things are up 20 to 30%. I don't know how much longer it can keep going up.” READ MORE ON EXCLUSIVESHANDY SAVINGS I’m a handyman - four tips to save 30% on bills and $100s on repairsHOME IMPROVEMENT I’m a home repair expert...
The White House said Wednesday that Iran was not only selling lethal drones to Russia but had 'assisted' Russia as it carried out attacks from annexed Crimea.  White House national security spokesman John Kirby leveled the startling allegation after Russia had carried out a string of attacks on civilian infrastructure using what videos showed and Ukrainian officials identified as the Iranian drones.  'We can confirm that Russia's military personnel that are based in Crimea have been piloting Iranian UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles], using them to conduct strikes across Ukraine, including strikes against Kyiv in just recent days,' Kirby said. 'We assess that Iranian military personnel on the ground in Crimea assisted Russia in these operations,' he added. White House National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby said Iranian  military personnel 'on the ground in Crimea assisted' Russian operations using Iranian-supplied drones to attack Ukraine 'Iranian military personnel were on the ground in Crimea and assisted with these operations,' Kirby continued. 'Russia has received dozens of UAVs so far and will likely continue to receive additional shipments in the...
John Fetterman, the Pennsylvania Democratic nominee for Senate, on Wednesday released a doctor's letter saying that he was recovering well from his stroke but still had some difficulties with 'auditory processing.' His health has become a campaign issue in a bad-tempered tussle with TV doctor Mehmet Oz, who has claimed the stroke left his opponent ill-equipped to serve in the Senate. He upped his attacks on Wednesday, asking whether Fetterman's wife would have to take the seat instead of her husband.  At times Fetterman, 53, has stumbled over his words and he has used closed-captioning video equipment to help him respond to interview questions. In a one-page letter, Dr. Clifford Chen said Fetterman continued to recover well after suffering the medical emergency five months ago. 'His speech was normal and he continues to exhibit symptoms of an auditory processing disorder which can come across as hearing difficulty,' he wrote after examining him on Friday.  'Occasional words he will "miss" which seems like he doesn’t hear the word but it is actually not processed properly.' John Fetterman on Wednesday released a doctor's...
A Texas landlady claims a property she owns is unrentable because it is haunted by leering, sex-crazed ghosts.  Linda Hill, from Gainesville, believes the shabby property, known as Hill House Manor, was a brothel during the 19th Century - and that the spirits of hookers and johns past still occupy its walls. Hill was initially skeptical, but says she changed her mind while in the shower one day, when a male voice leered 'Looking good.' She assumed it was her husband until he walked into the bathroom moments later. 'He said, 'Who were you talking to?'' Hill told WFAA. 'And it was like, 'Oh my god, it really is haunted.'' It was that incident which made Hill believe accounts from previous tenants, who claimed to have heard voices groan 'Oh baby, oh baby, yeah' and 'Yeah, I like that.'  Enterprising Hill has now decorated the house with a creepy porcelain doll and is marketing it as a real life haunted house for visitors to pay to attend - just in time for Halloween.  Linda Hill (pictured) claims a property she owns...
MICHAEL OWEN'S Ballon d'Or trophy is displayed under a spotlight on a spinning surface in his £4million mansion. Former Liverpool striker Owen, named the world's best player in 2001, allowed TV presenter Keith Lemon into his luxurious home for ITV's Through the Keyhole. 13 Michael Owen's £4million mansion is set in 42 acres of Welsh countrysideCredit: ITV The Grade II listed manor is set among 42 acres of countryside in the small Welsh village of Northop, near Mold. Owen, 42, has owned the property since 2001 and lives there with his wife Louise Bonsall and their four children. Of course, it's where his daughter Gemma, now 19, grew up - who is now starring in Love Island. In the first episode she already mentioned her famous father - revealing he 'has an opinion' on the men she dates. But before that, Inside, Lemon - real name Leigh Francis - discovered a games room complete with a full-size snooker table. It includes a giant photo-frame on the wall that carries a handful of Owen's England jerseys from the 89 caps the...
You might think it's enough to have a good group of family and friends around you. But it's also important to chat to strangers on your commute and co-workers in the office, a study suggests. Researchers have discovered that people with a diverse set of relationship types are happier than those who don't try to branch out. You might think it's enough to have a good group of family and friends around you. But it's also important to chat to strangers on your commute (stock image) and co-workers in the office, a study suggests Deep conversations with strangers are LESS awkward than small talk, study finds Last year, researchers from the University of Chicago conducted a series of experiments in which volunteers engaged in both shallow and more involved conversations. They found that people often avoid forging deeper connections because they underestimate how interesting other people will find what they have to say. However, deep meaningful conversations were found to be less awkward, and more enjoyable than small talk.  A team from Harvard University calculated the 'social portfolio' of more than...

On Thursday, just 37 days after being appointed British finance minister, Kwasi Kwarteng was asked if, in a month’s time, he would still be in his job and Liz Truss would still be prime minister. “Absolutely, 100 percent,” Kwarteng answered. “I’m not going anywhere.” Less than a day later, he was gone. Truss’ Friday removal of Kwarteng—her closest ideological ally—from the second most powerful role in government so soon after choosing him to run the British economy is easily the worst humiliation among a cavalcade of catastrophes to hit Truss’ administration since it took over from the disgraced Boris Johnson slightly over a month ago. “You have asked me to stand aside as your Chancellor,” Kwarteng wrote in a letter Truss which he shared on Twitter on Friday. “I have accepted.” After praising Truss’ “vision of optimism,” Kwarteng added: “We have been colleagues and friends for many years. In that time, I have seen your dedication and determination. I believe your vision is the right one.” “Your success is this country’s success and I wish you well,”...
Boris Johnson has begun his lucrative new career away from Downing Street by pocketing $150,000 for a speech in the US. The former prime minister took part in what was scheduled as a 90-minute 'fireside chat' at an insurance industry conference in Colorado. The speech came a day after Mr Johnson registered a new company - named 'The Office of Boris Johnson Limited' - as he put together arrangements for his life outside No10. The ex-premier had been widely expected to copy other former PMs by accepting well-paid speaking gigs now that he has left frontline politics. He is also tipped to return to journalism, as well as complete a biography of Shakespeare he began prior to entering Downing Street. Allies of Mr Johnson have previously claimed he was keen to put 'hay in the loft' once he had left No10, with the ex-PM eyeing a significant boost to his bank balance. Mr Johnson's appearance at the Insurance Leadership Forum - hosted by the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers at the Broadmoor Hall resort in Colorado Springs - was...

Stephen A. Smith has had enough of controversial roughing the passer penalties — which have been called in numerous NFL games over the past few days. In the Monday Night Football contest between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones sacked Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and drew a flag for roughing the passer. Jones forced a fumble which was recovered by the Chiefs, but because of the penalty the Raiders were able to keep the ball. The tackle appeared to be clean in the eyes of many critics — including Smith, who took to First Take Tuesday morning to reiterate his disapproval for how the referees have called this type of penalty. Smith called out Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, on Monday, after a similar penalty was called when Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Grady Jarrett sacked Brady, and Brady appealed to referee Jerome Boger to call a penalty. “Again I’m going to advocate on national television, let’s get away from tackling the quarterback altogether,” Smith said. “If you wrap your arms around them,...
