A man shot and killed two Dallas hospital maternity ward nurses over the weekend, opening fire after accusing his girlfriend who had just given birth of cheating, authorities said. Jacqueline Pokuaa, 45, and Katie Annette Flowers, 63, were killed in the Saturday shooting at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, according to police and the Dallas County medical examiner's office. Authorities said Nestor Hernandez, 30, opened fire around 11 a.m. while at the hospital visiting his girlfriend who had just given birth.  The tragedy unfolded after he accused the woman of cheating and told her 'whoever comes in this room is going to die with us.' Speaking at a fringe event at the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, the Spice Girl told an audience how she 'would have died' if she had still been with her former spouse during the pandemic. The 47-year-old pop star is a patron of the Women's Aid charity, which campaigns on behalf of domestic abuse survivors. In our poignant serialisation of Andrew Morton’s explosive book Diana: Her True Story — In Her Own Words, to mark 25 years since her death, the Princess has detailed the misery of her marriage to Prince Charles. Today, in the final extract, she tells of coming face-to-face with his mistress...   The worst day of my life was realising that Charles had gone back to Camilla. And one of the bravest moments of my entire ten years of marriage was when we went to this ghastly party. Nobody expected me to turn up to the party [thrown by Lady Annabel Goldsmith in February 1989 for Camilla’s sister’s 40th birthday], but a voice inside me said: ‘Go for the hell of it.’ So I psyched myself up something awful. I decided I’m not going to kiss Camilla hello any more. I was going to shake hands with her instead. This was my big step. And I was feeling frightfully brave and bold, and basically ‘Diana’s going to come away, having done her bit’. The worst day of my life was realising that...
A neighbor has recalled the dramatic moment he raced to the scene of Anne Heche's car crash seconds after the horrific smash. David Manpearl heard Heche's car race down the Mar Vista street at speeds of what he believes could be as high as 90mph, before it slammed into a family home.  Manpearl's doorbell camera captured video of Heche's Mini Clubman racing down South Walgrove Avenue, a normally quiet road, before a loud crash could be heard seconds later as the actor lost control of her vehicle. Manpearl's home office looks out over his front yard on the quiet residential street which sits about five houses away from where Heche crashed. As the celebrated couturier who had dressed Queen Mary, the Queen Mother and swathes of Britain’s aristocracy, Sir Norman Hartnell (who died in 1979) was the obvious choice to design Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation gown. Here, an abridged extract from his autobiography describes the most momentous commission of his career... One October afternoon in 1952, the Queen asked me to make the dress to be worn at her Coronation. I can scarcely remember what I murmured in reply. In simple conversational tones, Her Majesty went on to explain that it should conform in its line to her wedding dress (to which I had put the finishing touches almost exactly five years earlier) and that the material should be white satin. When my first exhilaration was over, I settled down to study what history and tradition meant by a ‘Coronation dress’. I visited museums and the London Library and leafed through authoritative tomes. After gathering all the factual material I could, I retired to the seclusion of Windsor Forest and spent many days making trial sketches. My mind was teeming with heraldic and...
