Getty Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is getting called out by a Dallas Cowboys star. The Dallas Cowboys are set for a major NFC East clash on Sunday with the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles, and one star is already adding fuel to the fire. As one of the NFL’s most prominent rivalries, the flames don’t need much stoking. But the 5-0 Eagles and 4-1 Cowboys are doing it all the same, with DeMarcus Lawrence taking aim at Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts on Thursday. After being peppered with questions about Hurts and saying that the Eagles QB “still struggles” in areas of the game, Lawrence dropped a couple of noteworthy quotes according to The Athletic reporter Jon Machota. “How about this, that’s the last question I’m going to hear about Hurts. For real though. Because I really don’t care,” Lawrence said. “Y’all asking me questions like I should be worried about them. Never worried. Never scared. Never quivering from any situation. But I just want y’all to understand that we coming to play, too.” DeMarcus Lawrence after several questions about...
Cooper Rush has done a quality job of keeping the Cowboys on track during Dak Prescott’s absence. What should Dallas do with Rush once Dak returns? Plenty of Cowboys fans thought their season might take a precipitous downturn once they lost Dak Prescott to injury. Fortunately for everyone in Dallas, Cooper Rush stepped in and did a quality job as the team’s quarterback in Prescott’s absence. Now that Dak’s return is just a week away, it’s reasonable to consider what the higher-ups in Dallas should do with their backup quarterback. No, there’s zero chance that Rush is going to supplant Prescott as the team’s starter no matter what he did during his multi-week cameo. Prescott may not be the perfect quarterback, but he’s the unquestioned face of the franchise in Dallas. That doesn’t mean Rush doesn’t have what’s required to be an NFL starter. On the contrary, it’s easy to envision a scenario where another team falls in love with his film and believes Rush can give their offense an immediate upgrade. The Cowboys are going to receive trade calls...

The Dallas Cowboys are 0-1 and without star quarterback Dak Prescott for months. It’s ll bad news for embattled head coach Mike McCarthy. Sean Payton on Line 1? How about Lines 2, 3, 4 and 5? Seems like Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, a friend of former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, might be burning the phone lines up soon enough. Even though Dallas is just 0-1, the Cowboys are already reeling. The offseason saw the departures of receiver Amari Cooper, right tackle La’el Collins and edge rusher Randy Gregory. Then there’s the summer injury of left tackle Tyron Smith, putting him out until December, at the earliest. Now, the broken thumb to quarterback Dak Prescott, requiring surgery and putting him on the shelf for approximately 6-8 weeks. Mike McCarthy could already be on the hot seat with the CowboysIf Dallas can’t find a suitable replacement for Prescott until he returns — Jimmy Garoppolio says hello — the Cowboys aren’t going to find many wins on their upcoming schedule, which features road games against the Los Angeles Rams...
Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Tyron Smith suffered an apparent knee injury during a recent practice. The Dallas Cowboys are looking to repeat as NFC East champions, even though they have seen some big roster turnover. One of the big decisions was the team releasing tackle La’el Collins, only to watch him sign with the Cincinnati Bengals. The last thing the team needed was an injury to their offensive line. During a practice on Aug. 24, left tackle Tyron Smith went down after shoving a defender, where he appeared to grab his left knee. You can view the moment Smith suffered the injury at this link. According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Smith is likely to get an MRI on his left knee. Archer also pointed out that Smith “did not appear to be limping badly.” He was spotted leaving the locker room after practice and did not appear to be limping badly. With free agent lefty Dallas Keuchel likely on the move again, these teams should take a flier on him. Who would have thought that a former Cy Young Award winner and two-time All-Star would be one of (if not the) worst pitchers in the game over the past two seasons? Unfortunately, that’s the exact situation 34-year-old Dallas Keuchel has found himself in. Left-hander Dallas Keuchel has been designated for assignment by the Arizona Diamondbacks, sources tell ESPN. He had been DFAd earlier this year by the White Sox and caught on with the Diamondbacks but struggled in four starts. Hell clear waivers and be a free agent again. — Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) July 21, 2022 Keuchel, best known for his strong seven-year tenure as a member of the Houston Astros, has bounced around from the Braves to the White Sox and most recently, the Diamondbacks. Last season, he managed just a 5.28 ERA in 32 appearances while posting lower than usual strikeout numbers as well as career-highs in both walks and home runs allowed. His first eight starts with...
ESPN analyst Chris Canty has tabbed Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott as the most overrated player in football. On his list of the five most overrated players in the NFL today, ESPN analyst Chris Canty views Dallas Cowboys quarterback as a cut above the rest. Canty’s starting five that nobody wants to be a part of features Prescott, Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey, New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, new Los Angeles Chargers pass-rusher Khalil Mack and Chargers safety Derwin James. So basically, we have got two former top-10 picks at running back who get hurt all the time, two other first-round picks on the Chargers defense who have never won anything of note professionally, and Prescott… While he may quarterback America’s Team, Prescott was a former fourth-round pick out of Mississippi State. While well-intentioned, Jason Garrett’s advice to Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy amid coaching turmoil does very little for him at this point in time.  In February, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made it clear that head coach Mike McCarthy will be succeeded at some point, but when that will take place remains unknown. Understandably, Jones’ comments put McCarthy in a difficult situation. With rumors swirling that everyone from Dan Quinn to Kellen Moore to even Sean Payton were coming for his job, McCarthy spoke at length about how he was processing his position in Dallas. His boss openly suggested one of his coordinators was head coaching material for the @dallascowboys and then there’s all the Sean Payton rumors. The Chicago White Sox have designated Dallas Keuchel for assignment and these two teams should get involved in any MLB rumors to sign him once he is released. The Chicago White Sox slid a pink slip into Dallas Keuchel’s locker on Saturday when they decided enough was enough. The veteran lefty was designated for assignment following a 2-5 start to the season complete with an ugly 7.88 ERA. The next phase is for MLB rumors to emerge about where he could pitch next. He has been designated for assignment. — Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) May 28, 2022 The 2015 American League Cy Young winner has had a ton of rotten luck over the years. In 2019, he famously had to wait until after the MLB Draft to finally sign a deal with the Atlanta Braves. The following year, now with the White Sox, he managed to go 6-2 with a 1.99 ERA in 11 starts. It was a fine start to his tenure...
SAN FRANCISCO — This is the Warriors’ 23rd playoff series since Steve Kerr took over as the team’s head coach. That’s over 100 playoff games under Kerr for the Warriors’ dynastic core: 106 for Steph Curry, 117 for Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. They have seen it all. They’ve faced much tougher competition and more challenging circumstances than what they saw Friday. And they’ve never lost a Western Conference Playoff series. That’s why after their disaasterclass of a first half in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, the Warriors didn’t panic or change the fundamentals of their game plan. They stayed the course. Yes, they executed better and there were a few small tinkers, sure, but the Warriors trusted their process. They’ll head to Dallas Saturday up 2-0 in the series, following a 126-117 win. That streak of West playoff series wins won’t end this year. The Warriors have a lot of advantages over Dallas in this series. That will decide it in their favor. But on Friday night, their biggest advantage...
The Warriors already know they are in the Western Conference Finals. They’ll have to wait until Sunday evening to find out who they’re facing. The Suns, the NBA’s best team in the regular season, will host Game 7 against the Mavericks in downtown Phoenix at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Should the Mavericks win, the Warriors would host Game 1 on Wednesday night. A win by the Suns would have Golden State traveling to Phoenix for a Wednesday night series-opener instead. Is that reason enough for the Warriors and their fans to root for Dallas over Phoenix, especially with MVP finalist Devin Booker in purple and orange? Or is Luka Doncic’s singular ability to take over a game scary enough to want to face Phoenix instead? Let’s look at the reasons to root for each potential opponent to win Sunday: Why the Dubs should want to face Dallas Home court advantage has been something valuable for the Warriors for years, going back to Oakland’s then-Oracle Arena. And while they’re in their new digs at Chase Center in San Francisco, they’ve continued...
The Cowboys addressed their need at tackle in Round 1, but Dallas still has a lot of work to do in Day 2 to get its roster ready for the regular season.  Selecting Tyler Smith at No. 24 wasn’t the most exciting selection of all time, but it did fill a big need for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones and the front office need to continue their work on Day 2. This roster still has noticeable holes that need to be filled before Week 1. The most glaring need that still needs to be filled is at edge rusher. Dallas required Micah Parsons to carry way too much of their pass-rushing load as a rookie. It would be a big surprise to see the Cowboys exit Day 2 without a potential starter at defensive end. Cowboys fans should keep a particularly close eye on these prospects at No. 56.NFL Draft 2022: Who should Cowboys target on Day 2?Boye Mafe, Edge, MinnesotaSome scouts believe Mafe is going to need some time to develop before he’s ready to make an impact at the...
Dallas Cowboys fans have wasted no time trying to recruit Deebo Samuel to the NFC East after he requested a trade.  Where will Deebo Samuel end up next? On Wednesday, the breaking news arrived that the superstar wideout had informed the San Francisco 49ers front office that he wants a trade out of town. Since then, rumors have swirled about who might land him. Could a move to AT&T Stadium be on the way? Dallas Cowboys supporters have been shooting their shot in trying to recruit the speedster and from the looks of his social media activity, it looks like Samuel would be open to a move to the NFC East. Getty Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, walks on the field before a game. The Dallas Cowboys are building their team for the 2022 offseason, but they’ve received a new warning against landing an enticing young receiver. Right now, Dallas boasts CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and James Washington at the top of their wide receiver group. But after reports that the team was a potential trade partner for former Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker, it appears as if fans should still expect another addition to that group. That may happen, but Bleacher Report analyst Kristopher Knox is warning the Cowboys against a particular receiver in the 2022 NFL draft: John Metchie III. The Alabama Crimson Tide prospect has been a key player in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the better part of two seasons, but Knox believes his recent ACL injury is a red flag and that the Cowboys need a pass-catcher who can make plays right away. “The 21-year-old is also coming off a torn ACL he suffered in the SEC Championship Game. For Dallas, that should be...

A critical offseason lies ahead for the Dallas Cowboys, who are facing immense pressure to win now in an NFC that has gotten more wide open since Tom Brady retired. The Cowboys haven’t reached the NFC Championship Game since 1996 despite fielding a supremely talented roster for nearly two decades, raising the stakes for Jerry Jones as he works to fix Dallas’ issues during the offseason. The good news for the Cowboys is that there are a number of players that should be available with the 24th pick in the draft...
Though the Kansas City Chiefs could technically trade for Amari Cooper, they are better served to wait for the Dallas Cowboys to release their Pro Bowl wide receiver before pursuing him. The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the teams Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper could end up with this offseason. It does not seem that Cooper is for long with America’s Team. With the amount of cap relief the Cowboys could get by releasing him, Dallas will probably part ways with Cooper before the start of new league year. While freeing up $16 million of cap space is nice, Dallas may want to see if there is any potential trade market before releasing the wide receiver ahead of NFL free agency. Though he would fit in well as a new member of the Chiefs receiving corps, here is why Kansas City needs to be patient and wait for Dallas to release Cooper first instead of trading for him.Kansas City Chiefs should wait for Dallas Cowboys to release Amari CooperThere are several reasons why trading for Cooper is a terrible idea for the...
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is not playing in the Pro Bowl after being selected as an alternate. Dak Prescott deciding to not play in the Pro Bowl after being selected as an alternate may have some Dallas Cowboys fans concerned. While America’s Team’s season ended prematurely once again, one would think Prescott would have been healthy enough to play in the end-of-season glorified exhibition. When healthy, he is one of the 10 or 12 best quarterbacks in the NFL. However, him deciding against going to the Pro Bowl is not as big of news as it initially sounds. He just wants to rest his body after rehabbing. Prescott has been in constant rehabilitation mode since breaking his ankle back in Oct. 2020. The Dallas Cowboys should part ways with Mike McCarthy and just promote Dan Quinn. This has become the norm for the Dallas Cowboys — an early exit from what was expected to be a lengthy playoff run. Mike McCarthy was hired back in 2020 due to the fact that he won a Super Bowl this century. Instead, the Cowboys are heading home early, no thanks to McCarthy. The Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 in the Wild Card Round to go one-and-done in the playoffs. If Dallas wants to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 1995, they should consider making a change at head coach. Luckily for Dallas, they have an in-house candidate in defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.Mike McCarthy contractBack in 2020, McCarthy was signed to a five-year deal to be Dallas’ head coach. If the Cowboys were going to part ways McCarthy, his tenure would end after just two seasons. After taking a year off following his firing from the Green Bay Packers, this was supposed to be a new McCarthy. Instead, there are...
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper wants the ball more. Had Baker Mayfield not been giving the ball away to the Packers at will on Christmas Day, the Cowboys could’ve taken over the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The fact that the Cleveland Browns had a chance to beat the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day is a testament to their roster. In fact, they had the ball with under two minutes to play down just two points and knocking on the door of field-goal range. Dallas Cowboys fans had to be licking their chops at that moment. Dallas currently sits as the No. 2 seed in the NFC standings behind only the Packers. If America’s Team can win out and Green Bay drops a game, that would put Mike McCarthy’s club in position to take the top seed in the conference and earn a first-round bye in the playoffs as they would win a multi-team tiebreaker thanks to their NFC record. Unfortunately, Baker Mayfield was just a bit too much in the giving mood.Cowboys fans should be furious at Baker Mayfield for gifting Packers a winWith the game...
Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Micah Parsons is getting better each week and his showing against Washington should have him in the Defensive Player of the Year conversation. What Micah Parsons has been able to accomplish thus far this season for the Dallas Cowboys has been wild. The man is basically a lock to win Defensive Rookie of the Year. With that said, let’s not just limit the standout linebacker to just that. While there’s still several guys in contention, what about the Defensive Player of the Year for Parsons here? It’s hard to think that a first-year player could go out and win it, but Parsons has been that big of a beast this year. His outstanding play has continued on Sunday against the Washington Football Team. You could make a serious argument for Micah Parsons to win Defensive Player of the Year. Getty Moses Brown of the Dallas Mavericks goes up for a shot against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Dallas Mavericks have quite a few young players on their roster, with Moses Brown being their top center prospect. With that in mind, the Mavs are looking to win now, meaning projects like Brown don’t always get time on the floor.  That’s not to say that the 7-foot-2 big can’t contribute on a winning team, it just means he hasn’t had the chance to do so quite yet.  Luckily for Brown, he’s been given the opportunity to showcase his skills in the G League with the Texas Legends. In the past, playing down in the G League has been nothing but positive for Brown and his playing time at the NBA level. It’s been an opportunity to develop as a player and gain confidence. Could he replicate the success he’s had in the G League at the next level for the Mavs? After spending the offseason training with former Mavericks center Tyson Chandler, Brown has a real chance to be a...

Here are three who should be on the hot seat right now.  It’s tough to win in the NFL, but with the amount of money flying around, winning is expected. And if you’re unable to deliver wins in a reasonable timeframe, teams will move on and make some fairly significant changes. Of course, there are plenty of franchises in the league that will drag their feet when making a move that should be fairly straightforward.  But there are some coaches who certainly deserve plenty of criticism. Dallas Cowboys fans are yelling loudly for Minnesota Vikings defensive back Harrison Smith to be suspended after it looked like he choked CeeDee Lamb.  The Week 8 showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings sure featured plenty of drama. Nothing was more eye-opening, however, than a play between Harrison Smith and CeeDee Lamb. On a trick play, Lamb hauled in a 35-yard pass from fellow wideout Cedric Wilson. At the end of things, Lamb was tackled by Smith, but the two stayed on the ground and it sure looks like Smith starting choking Lamb while he was laying on the turf. Dallas has since said they’re sending video of the play to the league so it can be reviewed. Kellen Moore, Dallas Cowboys. Mandatory Credit: Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports Mike Zimmer couldn’t even get the Minnesota Vikings past the Cowboys when Dallas started Cooper Rush at quarterback and they need a better head coach. There’s an unacceptable coaching performance and then there’s whatever Mike Zimmer did for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. Playing at home, Zimmer’s team was up against Cowboys backup quarterback Cooper Rush. This should’ve been a prime opportunity for Minnesota to pick up an easy win in the NFC. Instead, scared play-calling, poor defensive adjustments and just downright bad coaching allowed Dallas to come from behind late and score a 20-16 win. Now sitting at 3-4 on the season and after missing the playoffs last year, it’s probably past time for the Vikings to make a change and move on from Mike Zimmer. Who would they move on to? While the feeling might be that literally anyone would be better at this point, here are three quality options to replace Zimmer in Minnesota.3 coaches the Vikings need to hire who could beat Cooper Rush...
A homeless man's attorney said a paramedic who repeatedly kicked his client should be arrested and face felony charges.  Dallas County District Attorney Creuzot said that he did not plan to bring charges against Brad Cox, a Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedic, who repeatedly kicked Kyle Vess, a homeless man, because of the statute of limitations to prosecute him, The Dallas Morning News reported. However, George Milner III, Vess' lawyer, disagreed. Milner argued that Cox should face the felony charge of injury to a disabled person, adding the Vess' schizophrenia diagnosis qualified him as a disabled person in Texas. The charge proposed by Milner has a five-year statute of limitations, according to the Morning News. Creuzot also dismissed charges against Vess for assault against a public servant because of Vess' lifelong mental health condition, the newspaper added.  Creuzot noted that he believed Vess was having a mental health crisis when he encountered the paramedic.  “I’m blessed to be alive,” Vess said in his first time speaking publicly about the incident since it happened in August 2019, per the Morning News. “We understand that there’s a lot of...
A Jewish death row inmate who was part of the so-called “Texas 7” gang should get a new capital murder trial because the judge who presided over his case held anti-Semitic views, a state district judge said Monday. Dallas Criminal District Court Judge Lela Mays found that her predecessor, former Judge Vickers Cunningham, violated Randy Halprin’s right to a fair trial by not recusing himself from Halprin’s trial for bias. She recommended that the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals toss Halprin’s conviction and death sentence imposed by Cunningham. Cunningham could not immediately be reached for comment Monday. Halprin and six other inmates escaped from prison in 2000. The group later robbed a sporting goods store in Irving, Texas, fatally shooting responding police officer Aubrey Hawkins as they fled. The men were referred to as the “Texas 7” gang of escaped prisoners. One member killed himself before the group was arrested. Four have been executed, while Halprin and Patrick Murphy await execution. The allegations against Cunningham, who oversaw Halprin’s trial in 2003, came after a Dallas Morning News story in 2018...
Should the Dallas Cowboys sign recently-released cornerback Stephon Gilmore? We take a look at the situation for Dallas. On Tuesday night, the Dallas Cowboys surprisingly released linebacker Jaylon Smith. Only 12 hours later on Wednesday morning, the New England Patriots did the same with cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Although the moves aren’t connected, Smith’s exit may quickly turn into Gilmore’s entrance to the Dallas Cowboys.Should the Dallas Cowboys sign Stephon Gilmore?Dallas’ defense has been a pain point for the team over the last couple of seasons. This year, the standout performances of young players corner Trevon Diggs and rookie linebacker Micah Parsons are helping the Cowboys’ defense to trend in the right direction. Timely turnovers and a high-scoring offense has helped to mask the struggles that are still there. Through four weeks, the Dallas defense is 31st in the league in passing yards allowed giving up 315.3 yards a game. Aside from Diggs, who is quickly developing into one of the league’s most-feared corners, the secondary is rather subpar. It is evident why during the 2021 NFL draft, the Cowboys No. 1...

Here are five teams that could benefit from the costly move.  On Tuesday night, the 3-1 Dallas Cowboys made a bold mid-season move by cutting premier Pro Bowl linebacker Jaylon Smith from their roster. The move was shocking, not only because of the linebacker’s reputation, but also because of the money it cost to part ways with Smith. Smith had five years and $50.75 million remaining on his contract. His release leaves behind $16.6 million of dead cap, and the Cowboys still owe him $7.2 million for the 2021 season. Wow. In a fairly bizarre move, the Dallas Cowboys decided to cut Jaylon Smith. Should the Green Bay Packers make a move and add Smith to their roster? We’re four games into the 2021 NFL season and, for some reason, the Dallas Cowboys made the head-scratching decision to release Jaylon Smith. The former second-round draft pick was released after just four games in his sixth season with the Cowboys. Smith hasn’t always been a star for Dallas, but the timing could’ve been better. Because of when the Cowboys decided to release him, Dallas will still reportedly owe Smith $7.2 million. That’s a lot of money. But the Cowboys seem to think it’s worth releasing him. Will another team think it’s worth picking him up? What about someone like the Green Bay Packers, whose defense could certainly stand to improve? The Packers are giving up 25 points per game, which ranks as the 19th-best total in the NFL after four weeks.Green Bay Packers: Would Jaylon Smith be a good addition to Green Bay’s defense? Much of the buzz this year and preseason has been about the health of quarterback Dak Prescott. But when the Dallas Cowboys visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the second Thursday of September, the five-year pro is expected to be in the starting lineup. Of course, the other big issues when it comes to Mike McCarthy’s club has reviving a defensive unit that was simply embarrassing in 2020. Hence the use of eight of the team’s 11 draft picks on this side of the ball this year. But what about some other players who could help the Cowboys rebound from a 6-10 showing? 3. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will get another MRI on his throwing shoulder. Dallas Cowboys training camp has been a bit more stressful than in years past. With their season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers less than a month away, the Cowboys are monitoring quarterback Dak Prescott, who suffered a shoulder injury back on July 28. Cowboys fans may need to brace themselves for this latest update. While speaking with the media on Wednesday, Prescott revealed that he is getting another MRI on his right shoulder once the team returns to Dallas from Oxnard, Calif. Other high-ranking Fed officials, including Chairman Jerome Powell, have not yet given a forecast for when they want to pull back on the economic stimulus. "It would be my view that if the economy unfolds between now and our September meeting ... if it unfolds the way I expect, I would be in favor of announcing a plan at the September meeting and beginning tapering in October," Kaplan said. The Fed sought to support the U.S. economy in the spring of 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic began to shut down businesses across the country. As part of that effort, the central bank has each month purchased some $120 billion worth of Treasury bonds and...

(Mandatory Credit: Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports) The Dallas Mavericks have plenty of options at guard besides Kyle Lowry to add in free agency. With longtime Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry expected to be joining the Miami Heat this summer by way of a sign-and-trade, the Dallas Mavericks will have to adjust accordingly in free agency. Though Dallas has not had a robust history in being able to attract stars in free agency, the Mavericks have an undisputed superstar out on the wing in Luka Doncic. However, if they plan on winning their first playoff series in over a decade, Doncic will need another high-end backcourt player he can count on in crunch time. Dallas will have to act fast to get a quality guard now. Here are three guards the Mavericks should look to pursue in free agency after almost certainly missing out on Lowry.Dallas Mavericks: 3 free agency guard options to consider besides Kyle Lowry 3 DeMar DeRozan SG San Antonio Spurs DeMar DeRozan has built a hall-of-fame career as an...
DALLAS – Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Friday that the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) should stay in Texas permanently, as he touted the state's COVID-19 approach that conference Chairman Matt Schlapp said was part of the reason he chose to host an extra conference in Dallas.  "We've been the leader," Patrick claimed, on lifting coronavirus-related health restrictions. "In April [2020] I said don't listen to Fauci. I think everyone's now learned not to listen to Fauci… We just had the highest collection of sales taxes in the history of our state two months in a row and we still have one hand tied behind our back with the economy." CPAC Dallas is a first for the American Conservative Union, the organization that runs the conferences. Usually, CPAC is a once-per-year event. This first year was in Orlando, Florida. But Chairman Matt Schlapp said that he felt the need to recognize Texas this year and decided to do that by bringing a second 2021 conference to Dallas.  "During CPAC Orlando with [Florida] Gov. [Ron] DeSantis' leadership, you know, they...

It is the end of an era, as former Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle resigned from his post on Thursday after 13 years on the job. Carlisle led the Mavericks to the Western Conference Playoffs in nine of his 13 years in Dallas. He won two Southwest Division titles, as well as guiding the Mavericks to their first and only NBA championship in franchise history back in 2011. But after another year of postseason failure and mounting frustration, Carlisle walks away with so many coaching opportunities to choose from. Photo by Steph Chambers/Getty Images With the Dallas Mavericks suffering a first-round exit in the 201 NBA Playoffs, the front office needs to be busy this offseason in bringing in talent.  Just like that, the 2020-21 season has officially come to a close for the Dallas Mavericks. While the team had high expectations for the campaign, the Kawhi Leonard and the LA Clippers were simply too much for Luka Doncic and Co. to overcome in Sunday’s Game 7. Now, it’s back to the drawing board for the front office, as a first-round loss is not what can continue to happen moving forward. The Mavs have some decisions to make, with Tim Hardaway Jr.’s free agency, Josh Richardson’s $11.6 million player option and Willie Cauley-Stein’s team option being at the top of the list. However, the Mavs can create some cap space to pursue notable free agents if they so choose. Having said that, here’s a look at three players the team should go after this offseason to help out the offense, with rim-runner Richaun Holmes being an honorable mention.3. Norman...

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is putting in the work ahead of his second season. Dallas Cowboys fans have to like what they see in wide receiver CeeDee Lamb this offseason. Though the Cowboys had a frustrating season a year ago, Lamb shined in his first year out of Oklahoma. Despite being in a deep receiver corps in Dallas and seeing starting quarterback Dak Prescott succumb to injury early in the season, Lamb finished his rookie year with an impressive 74 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns in all 16 games. Dallas police investigators say 53-year-old Chris Murzin was driving on Interstate-20 on Feb. 11, 2021, when he was shot. His vehicle crashed and he was found near the Polk Street exit and later died. Police say they suspect road rage because a 911 caller saw a silver SUV following Murzin’s black SUV. The Dallas Cowboys still have a lot to do this offseason if they want to contend for the NFC East. Here are three free agents that they should target. The Dallas Cowboys failed to live up to their “champions of the offseason” reputation last year, as they finished third in the NFC East with a underwhelming 6-10 season. The Cowboys entered this offseason again with the question of whether they could sign quarterback Dak Prescott to a contract extension. Shockingly, they got it done before the franchise tag deadline, signing Prescott to a four-year, $160 million deal. The Cowboys have made some moves at the start of the new league year but still sit with over $13 million in cap space as of this writing. There is enough money for them to make a big splash if they choose, or they can fill out some needs on the defensive side of the ball. ARLINGTON, TEXAS – DECEMBER 20: Head coach Mike McCarthy of the Dallas Cowboys looks on against the San Francisco 49ers during the first quarter at AT&T Stadium on December 20, 2020 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images) The Cowboys need to make big strides in 2021 for Mike McCarthy to keep his job. That could mean replacing these three veterans with rookies this offseason. In retrospect, the Cowboys’ 2020 season ended the minute Dak Prescott went down. That doesn’t excuse Mike McCarthy and the rest of the Dallas roster for failing to compete in the weakest division on football. The NFC East was there for the taking and the Cowboys failed to take advantage. That means big changes are coming to Big D in the offseason. Cowboys’ officials hope a normal offseason program will help the team adjust to their relatively new coaching staff. The hiring of Dan Quinn as the new defensive coordinator should help that unit in 2021. Of course, the potential return of Prescott is arguably the biggest variable expected to go Dallas’ way next...

Entire school board resigns over comments bashing parents Trump schedules address before CPAC next Sunday Luka Doncic was named a starter for the All-Star Game next month, something that left many fans both surprised and even angry that he got the nod over Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard. BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – DECEMBER 08: Head coach Mike McCarthy of the Dallas Cowboys walks off of the field after losing to the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on December 8, 2020 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images) The Cowboys failed to win a historically weak NFC East in 2020. That puts a lot of pressure on Dallas to avoid a big mistake in the 2021 NFL Draft.  It’s fair to say that Mike McCarthy’s first season in charge of the Cowboys didn’t go as planned. Dak Prescott went down to an early-season injury that effectively torpedoed Dallas’ hopes of becoming a Super Bowl contender. The team’s season ended with an ugly loss in the regular-season finale that officially eliminated them from playoff contention. The good news in Dallas is that Prescott should return as the team’s starting quarterback in 2021. The team has work to do to get him under contract, but the odds still favor him leading the Cowboys offense for years to come. The bad news is that there are still a lot of other...

More accurately, why is Carson Palmer, who at the time he retired from his fairly mediocre career at the end of the 2017 season was one of the 10 highest-paid players in NFL history, telling Dak Prescott that he should not get every penny possible in his coming contract? And using ridiculous logic to justify it? Palmer was on Dallas station 105.3 The Fan on Thursday and was asked about Prescott, who began last season on the franchise tag and ended it on injured reserve after a devastating ankle injury in October. Prescott was on the tag in 2020 because the Dallas Cowboys and Prescott couldn’t agree to an extension before the league-mandated deadline. “I love Dak’s game. I think he’s great. I think...
