United States Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) on Friday shared her thoughts on Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh having been snuck out the back end of the posh Morton's Steakhouse in Washington, DC on Wednesday evening because pro-choice protesters had learned of his location. Kavanaugh reportedly finished his meal in peace but was unable to order dessert. And the restaurant put out a statement to Politico that was undeniably overdramatic and triggered widespread fury due to its babying of Kavanaugh. "Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner at our Morton’s restaurant," Morton's spokesperson said. "Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency." A Maryland judge shot himself dead on Friday morning as police arrived to arrest him on allegations of child sexual abuse. Jonathan Newell, 50, had been on leave since July, after a young boy told his parents about finding a hidden camera in the shower at Newell's fishing cabin, where he had been staying. An investigation was launched and digital devices seized containing footage of young boys - but the footage was not all confiscated before Newell could eat one of the memory cards, which was later identified in his stomach. Footage of the teenage boys showering dated back to September 2014, and in one clip Newell can be seen touching the naked body of a young man and spreading his buttocks in what he told them was a search for ticks.  On Friday morning, officers arrived at his home in Henderson, 70 miles east of Baltimore. 'Upon entering the residence the agents found Newell suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,' said Jonathan Lenzner, Acting Maryland U.S. Attorney. 'He was pronounced dead at 6:43 a.m.  'Maryland State Police will...
The New York State Assembly has suspended impeachment proceedings in the wake of Cuomo's resignation, leaving the door open for him to seek re-election next November.  Cuomo resigned on Tuesday, before the Assembly could launch an impeachment trial that would not only block him from running again but would stop him from claiming his pension.  Others had wanted the impeachment proceedings to continue, claiming he should be stopped from seeking office again because of the nursing home scandal and the sexual harassment claims against him.  But on Friday, Carl Heastie - the NY State Assembly Speaker who was overseeing the investigation - said it had been suspended.  'After consulting with Chair Lavine, the Assembly will suspend its investigation upon the governor's resignation taking effect on August 25. 'There are two reasons for this decision. First, the Assembly Judiciary Committee's impeachment investigation was to determine whether Governor Cuomo should remain in office. 'The governor's resignation answers that directive. Second, we have been advices by Chair Lavine that the constitution does not authorize the legislature to impeach and remove an elected official...

Wuthric has apologized for sending a foul-mouthed email to a Salt Lake City council member telling him to 'kindly go to hell and die motherf***er' after the politician disturbed his nap by knocking on his door.  Wuthric sent the scathing email to City Council member Darin Mano Saturday telling him he had been enjoying a 'lovely siesta' before he was awoken by the council member canvassing in the neighborhood.  He told Mano 'I hate your family' and warned that he will 'do everything in my power to see you never get elected to any office higher than dog catcher.' The prosecutor has since issued an apology after Mano, who is Asian American and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, posted the expletive-ridden email on Facebook and condemned it as 'hate speech.' Mano said he rang Wuthric's doorbell and moved on when he received no reply.   Utah's Assistant Attorney General Steven A. Facebook announced Friday that it would maintain its suspension of former President Donald Trump's participation in the social media site for an additional two years – until January 2023. The company responded in a statement after its oversight board announced Trump's suspension from Facebook and Instagram, but without providing an end date. It cited the 'gravity' of the conduct that got him bumped in the first place, after flagging his repeated claims of election fraud and other issues. Former President Donald Trump's suspension from Facebook will last for two years, the company said in a statement 'Given the gravity of the circumstances that led to Mr. Trump’s suspension, we believe his actions constituted a severe violation of our rules which merit the highest penalty available under the new enforcement protocols,' according to the statement, authored by Vice President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg. 'We are suspending his accounts for two years, effective from the date of the initial suspension on January 7 this year,' the company said.  We are today announcing new enforcement protocols to be applied in exceptional cases...

‘Non’ starter WE salute Boris Johnson for heading, reluctantly, for the No Deal exit door. But in reality Brussels left him little choice. The EU’s demands are patently absurd to anyone but the Tory-hating Remainer diehards of Twitter. ⚠️ Read our Brexit live blog for the latest news & updates 2We salute Boris Johnson for heading, reluctantly, for the No Deal exit doorCredit: PA:Press Association Like it or not, Brexit — backed by voters at the 2016 referendum and two successive elections — is a democratic mandate to take back control of our national sovereignty in all areas. That includes our laws and our fishing waters. After all this time, Brussels — tediously obsessed with Britain “paying a price” for leaving — still seems convinced our PM will buckle on one or both. He can’t and won’t. Leave voters and his own party would revolt. But surrender was never in Boris’s mind anyway. It will be a fatal error for the EU to believe he will cave in the end. Optimists believe this is all just pantomime and...

Some of President Donald Trump's most ardent defenders inside the Capitol including Rep. Matt Gaetz tore into Democrats at Monday night's GOP convention – as the Florida Republican said Democrats would invite gang members to live next door.  Gaetz, a House Judiciary Committee member who ripped former special counsel Robert Mueller about the Steele dossier in 2018, this time trained his fire on Biden and his allies.  'They’ll disarm you, empty the prisons, lock you in your home, and invite MS-13 to live next door. And the defunded police aren’t on their way,' Gaetz said, in one of several charged lines. He accused Democrats of 'blaming our best and allowing society’s worst.' He ridiculed 'woketopians' who he predicted would 'settle for Biden.' And he took a dig at Biden running mate Sen. Kamala Harris, bringing up problems with California's electric grid and saying they shouldn't send their 'junior senator' to be vice president. 'And Biden knows failure,' Gaetz continued in his appearance Monday night. 'His own Defense Secretary said, “Biden has been wrong on every major foreign policy and national security...
No laughing matter: Donnovan Jester, 28, from Florida, has been charged with stealing, crashing and abandoning a $900,000 yacht in March  A Florida man has been charged with grand theft vessel after allegedly taking a 900,000 yacht on a joyride and accidentally crashing it.  stole a million dollar yacht, then abandoned it after accidentally ramming it into some pilings. Donnovan Jester, 28, was arrested last week thanks to a thumb print left on the wrecked luxury boat.  According to an arrest affidavit, Jester stole the 46-foot 2019 Jeanneau Leader with a value of $899,179 back in the early hours of March 20 in St Petersburg, Florida. The alleged boat bandit cruised off, but slammed into four channel-marker pilings and quickly abandoned the yacht, leaving it to drift into an oyster bed.  The vessel sustained about $60,000 in damage resulting from the crash.  The affidavit indicates that during an investigation, Pinnellas County Sheriff's deputies found a left thumbprint on the cabin door that was matched to Jester.  The 28-year-old initially denied being on any vessel, but he later admitted on...
