A damning report from the FBI has concluded that Alec Baldwin did pull the trigger of the gun that killed cinematographer on the set of Rust – despite him repeatedly stating that he did not. The actor, 64, accidentally shot dead Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the set of his film ‘Rust’ in October 2021, and injured director Joel Souza in the incident in Bonanza Creek Ranch, Santa Fe.  Baldwin has consistently denied that he pulled the trigger on the gun, which was supposed to be a prop, but a new report concluded that it could not have been fired unless the trigger was pulled. The FBI forensic report, which was obtained by ABC News, was examining all of the areas of the fatal accident as part of a broader investigation to see if any criminal charges can be brought. Part of the report found that the revolver, a single-action .45 Colt caliber F.lli Pietta, could not have been fired without someone pulling the trigger. They made the decision by conducting an accidental discharge test, but it is unclear if this...
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has said that US government debt is on an 'unsustainable path' while admitting that he underestimated the threat of inflation and warning that a recession is possible. Powell's remarks came in testimony before the House Financial Services Committee on Thursday, as the powerful Fed chair wrapped up a second day of appearances on Capitol Hill. 'The US is on an unsustainable fiscal path, meaning the debt is growing faster than the economy,' said Powell. 'By definition, that is unsustainable.' Powell said that for now, the US has no issue servicing its debt, and that although there is no imminent threat of default, eventually government debt will have to drop back below economic growth.   'We will need to get back where revenues and spending are better aligned. We don't need to pay the debt down, we just need to have the economy growing faster than the debt over a longer time,' he said. Powell was in the hot seat this week primarily over the issue of inflation, which has soared to a 40-year high. In May, the...

Robert Salas was on-duty commander of the underground launch facility at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana in March 1967 when a mysterious red orb allegedly flew over and all ten of their nuclear missiles inexplicably shut down for several hours. Speaking just two days after a bomb ripped through a mosque in Kabul, an atmosphere of heightened security surrounded the man introduced as Hibatullah Akhundzada, the chief of the Taliban. 'Congratulations on victory, freedom and success,' he told thousands of worshippers at the Eidgah mosque in the southern city of Kandahar, the hardline Islamist group's de facto power centre. 'Congratulations on this security and for the Islamic system.' While the number of bombings across the country has dropped since Kabul fell to the Taliban last August, attacks soared over the final two weeks of the fasting month of Ramadan, which ended Saturday for Afghans.
