The former head of America's largest neo-Nazi group believes white supremacists and far-right extremists are planning to fight in Ukraine if Russia launches an invasion. Jeff Schoep, who headed the Nationalist Socialist Movement before renouncing fascism, said war would attract extremists to both sides of the fight. And just like the rise of ISIS in Syria turned that country into a training ground for Western Jihadists, so too Ukraine cold become a breeding ground for American fascism.  'The idea there is to get that training and to get that experience, because of course the far-right people feel that civil war is coming,' he told DailyMail.com.  'So for them it's an opportunity to fight and get that training.' Some 150,000 Russian troops remain close to the border with Ukraine, raising fears that an invasion is imminent despite Moscow's claims it is pulling them back. A former government official echoed Schoep's warning and said the Biden administration needed to work with eastern European countries to monitor the movement of known extremists. And it comes after a leaked report from the Office of...

Shelley Lynn Thornton, the woman whose very conception sparked one of the Supreme Court’s most significant legal rulings in U.S. history, is telling her story and making it clear she won’t take anyone’s side in the public debate over abortion. After years of anonymity, Thornton was recently identified as the daughter of Norma McCorvey, the woman who challenged Texas’ restrictive abortion laws decades ago under the pseudonym of Jane Roe. McCorvey sought to abort Thornton during her pregnancy, but since the legal battle stretched on for years, Thornton was born and put up for adoption while McCorvey won the case of Roe V. Wade. This was the landmark Supreme Court decision that legally permitted women to have an abortion in the first trimester without undue government interference. ABC News’ Linsey Davis spoke to Thornton for her first TV interview, where the conversation revolved around Thornton’s thoughts on her connection to the case. Thornton argued, however, that “it had nothing to do with me [because] I wasn’t the one who created this law. I’m not the one who created this...
Shelley Lynn Thornton unintentionally had a huge impact on U.S. law after her mother brought a case that would ultimately block state bans on abortion. Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, gave birth to Thornton before the Supreme Court's landmark decision. Perhaps one of the most prominent in U.S. history, the decision has inspired speculation as to who the "Roe," a pseudonym, actually was. McCorvey wanted an abortion but couldn't obtain one in the state of Texas, which is currently under fire for implementing another strict abortion ban. Last year, a controversial documentary was released with sources suggesting that McCorvey was callously used as a tool in the abortion debate. Now, her daughter is vowing not to let that happen. In a recent interview with ABC News, Thornton said she keeps her opinion on the hot-button issue "close to my chest." The highest priority for any sovereign government is the protection of its citizens from danger – foreign and domestic. We count on our government to be watchful. It is troubling then how lax we have become since the end of the Cold War, despite the emergence of new international threats – not least those posed by the extraordinary rise of China and its ever-tightening grip on world affairs. Beijing runs the second most powerful economy in the world and is a major trading partner for Britain and America. Many jobs rely upon the huge investments it has made. China has found its way into Britain’s strategic telecommunications, into our universities and our nuclear industry. China and Russia are expanding into both Africa and South America, too, buying up stakes in mineral resources and energy distribution Influential figures in the West want us to treat the Chinese as if they were equally responsible members of the global community, ignoring the serious threat to our way of life they already represent. But we must not allow ourselves to be lulled into...

And it is understood the battle for Kane’s signature is set to be a straight fight between the two Manchester rivals, who believe they offer him the best chance of success. They are both prepared to hand him a five-year contract with a £300,000-a-week basic salary —  £70k up on his Tottenham deal, which still has three years to run. There would be further bonuses  for goals scored and success on the pitch, making Kane one of the Prem’s best-paid players. Prem champs...
