Before I discovered my love for traditional country music, Americana, and bluegrass, I loved big-band and Broadway music. I prided myself on knowing the big show tunes from all the famous musicals. When I heard Cory Singer’s song “I Still Love You,” I thought, “Wow, I wonder which musical this song is from. How have I missed it before now?” It turns out that “I Still Love You” is an original song from the young and vibrant singer/songwriter Cory Singer. As a child born with autism, Singer had a tough time as a child. He was non-verbal as a toddler and was officially diagnosed with autism at age 4. Back in 1999, when he was first diagnosed, there wasn’t a lot of autism education available. His parents were unsure about how to raise him. “They did the best they could, but it was challenging,” he recalls. They were thoughtful enough to let Singer pick and choose the activities he wanted to pursue and felt confident doing. He was always a creative child who liked to draw. Music and art were...

A premature baby who was born weighing just one pound and was given a 50 per cent chance of survival has beat the odds and finally left the hospital - after spending more than 500 days in the ICU fighting for her life. Tyler Robinson's now-18-month-old daughter, Autumn, from Chicago, Illinois, was born four months early - at just 23 weeks - after Tyler suffered from a uterine rupture, which resulted in the newborn developing many complications. Mourners who attended the Queen's lying-in-state have been selling their used wristbands for as much as £350. Despite opening just two days ago, around a dozen people have already listed the paper bands on online marketplace eBay - with some saying a percentage of the money will go to charity.  With a queue so unprecedented, those joining have been given coloured wristbands to mark their place - so they can leave for a drink or go to the toilet and then return.    But it appears that some mourners have seen the system as an opportunity to make some cash by selling the wristbands as souvenirs. One person has listed an orange wristband, which features the Royal coat-of-arms and the abbreviation LISQ, with an asking price of £350. Chrissy Teigen has revealed that her late son Jack's passing in September 2020 was the result of a life-saving abortion, not a miscarriage as she originally stated. The wife of John Legend, 36, explained that she made the 'difficult decision' to terminate the pregnancy at 20 weeks after coming to terms with the fact that she nor Jack would likely survive. 'Let's just call it what it was: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago,' confessed Chrissy, according to THR. The couple had previously said that Jack died as a result of complications caused by a partial placental abruption, which is when the placenta detaches from the womb depriving the baby of oxygen and causing heavy bleeding in the mother. Voters take to the polls in three northeastern states Tuesday in the final primary of midterms season.  Here's what to watch as the political drama unfolds in Delaware, New Hampshire and Rhode Island this evening:  New Hampshire  Republicans had hoped that taking back the New Hampshire Senate seat from Democrat Maggie Hassan could be their shot at taking back power in the upper chamber - she narrowly won the seat in 2016.  The leading candidate in the GOP race is Don Bolduc, a retired army general who touts former President Trump's election fraud claims and has said that the coronavirus vaccine contains a microchip.  But successful Republicans in the Granite State have skewed toward the center. Bolduc's closest rival is Chuck Morse, the state senate president, and he has emphasized that sending Bolduc to face off against Hassan means squandering an opportunity to flip the seat.  The leading candidate in the GOP race for New Hampshire's Senate seat is Don Bolduc, a retired army general who touts former President Trump's election fraud claims and has said that the coronavirus vaccine...
It was kicker carnage in Week 1, and Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell’s miss doinked so hard that it belongs in a museum. Let’s spare hyperbole, the end of the Bengals-Steelers showdown in Week 1 was absolute chaos. Three consecutive times kickers from either side stepped up with a chance to walk off with a win, and each time he missed. Bengals kicker Evan McPherson missed twice; once on a blocked extra point at the end of regulation and again in overtime. That overtime miss led to a chance for Chris Boswell to win things for the Steelers but he also missed. Of the three missed kicks, Boswell’s was by far the finest. It transcends merely being a missed kick and instead is a work of art worthy of hanging in art institutes around the world. By the end of this year, Maryland gamblers may be able to place mobile sports bets. The arrival of online sports gambling has been more than two years in the making, but as recently as last month, a 2022 launch didn’t seem likely. At that time, a Maryland state gaming control agency official said it was “everybody’s hope” that mobile sports betting could take place in the state before the Super Bowl in February. However, the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission began accepting applications Tuesday from mobile sports betting businesses and Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director John Martin predicted that mobile wagering could start before the end of 2022. “We’ve been doing everything we can to have it launch before the end of the year, and now we have a good chance to make that happen,” he said in a statement. The U.S. Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on sports gambling in 2018 and Maryland voters approved legalized sports betting in 2020. Republican Gov. Larry Hogan signed a bill into law allowing in-person and mobile sports betting in...

Speaking to CNBC Saturday, Graham — a South Carolina Republican and close ally of Trump — said he had advised the former president that he had "no chance" of winning the election in 2020, but added that 2024 was within his reach. "I'm literally telling you what I tell him," Graham told CNBC's Steve Sedgwick at the Ambrosetti Forum in Italy. "If you lose again, the history about who you are and what you did dramatically changes," he said. "If you come back, it will be one of the greatest political comebacks in American history. More than 400,000 people could see history in the making, as NASA announced it Artemis I is 'go' for launch on Saturday - the agency's second attempt after the first was scrubbed on Monday. NASA proudly shared in a Friday pre-launch briefing that the final core state and engine preparations are complete and weather conditions look 60 percent favorable for the launch window that opens at 2:17pm ET and then 80 percent before it closes two hours later. Monday saw a last-minute scrub due to a reading from a 'bad' sensor that disappointed the 200,000 spectators around Kennedy Space Center who were before sunrise to see the launch. NASA shared that such incorrect information will simply be ignored in the future. A relationship expert has revealed the four tell-tale signs that a couple is heading for divorce - and says they are 'more common than you think'.  Clinical psychologist Dr Kathy Nickerson, from Orange County, California, explained there are four key behaviours that indicate a split might be on the horizon: criticism, contempt, defensiveness and stonewalling.  Dr Nickerson, who draws on the work of psychologist and renowned marriage researcher Dr John Gottman, said while some of these behaviours might seem innocuous at first, they can lead to irreversible damage.  'Did you know that there are four behaviours, that if you do them in your relationship, they predict breakup or divorce at the rate of over 90 per cent?,' she asked. 'It's true. 'The research done to find these four behaviours was done by Dr John Gottman of the Gottman Institute at the Seattle Love Lab. 'Gottman found that if some or all of these behaviours were present with enough frequency, the connection and friendship at the heart of a marriage would die. 'And once that happens, it's hard for couples...
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has begun its annual oral rabies vaccination distribution project to help prevent the spread of rabies in raccoons. However, this year they’re doing things a little differently. Source: NEWS CENTER Maine/Youtube The project will focus on the spread of rabies in raccoons in the eastern United States, according to the USDA. This year, the rabies vaccines are edible pellets covered in fishmeal to attract raccoons and other critters. They are distributing the vaccines by airplane in rural areas and by helicopter and vehicles for suburban and urban areas. Approximately 348,000 vaccines will be distributed in northern Maine and 535,000 distributed in western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and southwestern Virginia. Starting next month, 70,000 vaccines will be distributed in parts of Massachusetts. Followed by 880,000 vaccines in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia and 820,000 vaccines in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Some parts of Alabama will receive 1.1 million vaccines. The vaccines are safe for over 60 animal species, including domestic dogs and cats. Mass vaccination programs are the only way to stop...

Two weather systems over the Atlantic Ocean could possibly turn into the season's next major tropical storm or hurricane, with one of them given an 80% chance to form in the next five days. While tropical depressions can be hard to predict at such an early stage, models have indicated one of the systems, if it were to gain power, could head for Bermuda and then possibly the US' East Coast. The potential storms come as the Atlantic hasn't had a storm all August, marking it as one of the calmest periods in history during a month that typically spawns the most storms and hurricanes. One reason for the lack of storms can be attributed to the Sahara Desert in Africa, as dust from the desert is swept across the Atlantic ocean, creating dryer air that makes it harder for storms to form.  The mass of dust, called the Saharan Air Layer is about two miles thick and sits one mile above the Earth's surface, and is known to be responsible for stunning sunsets and sunrises due to light bouncing...
KROGER shoppers can breathe a sigh of relief as the grocery store is making a major change to its self-checkout. Towering above a remote Pacific island, the volcano is some 8,000 miles from Britain — but nowhere is safe from the devastation it will unleash on the world. For days, explosions like distant cannon fire have terrified locals and now it’s about to blow with a force 50,000 times greater than that of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. As the molten rock finally punches through the surface, giant flames shoot up into the sky with a blast that can be heard 1,200 miles away and sends a red-hot river of lava flowing down the volcano’s slopes. Along with choking noxious gases, this incinerates or asphyxiates many tens of thousands of islanders and destroys the homes of countless more. Elsewhere, the giant ash cloud spewed into the atmosphere sees freak weather conditions as far afield as Western Europe. Aeroplanes are grounded, harvests are destroyed and famine and disease kill millions of people. Scientists believe there is a one in six chance of a super eruption someone on Earth before the end of this century,  pictured a depiction of the Mount...
Chicago Bears fans will want to yell at Mike Martz the way Jay Cutler used to when they hear Martz’s assessment of the team’s current offense. There’s a dose of hope locally for what the Bears can become with the team in the early stages of rebuilding under new general manager Ryan Poles and first-year coach Matt Eberflus. That optimism isn’t shared on a national level. Now Martz — a guy with a proven record as a head coach and offensive mind — is saying the Bears don’t just look bad on offense, they’re as deficient on that side of the ball as the 2008 Detroit Lions, the first NFL team to go 0-16. In an article for The 33rd Team — an online publication with a collection of former league executives on its roster, including Hall of Famers Bill Polian and Bill Parcells — Martz didn’t hold back in his review of the Bears with the season less than three weeks away. Of course, Martz is familiar with the challenges offensive coordinators have faced at Halas Hall. He held...
President Joe Biden called Republican Rep. Liz Cheney Wednesday after she was defeated in her Wyoming primary by the Trump-backed Harriet Hageman.  Bloomberg News first reported the call Wednesday evening, after Cheney spent the morning further suggesting she could run for president in 2024 - meaning she could be a future political rival to the Democratic president.  But political strategists have warned she has virtually no chance to win a Republican presidential primary, according to a fresh report from Fox News Channel. Lauren Claffey Tomlinson, a Republican strategist and president of Claffey Communications, told Fox it was 'highly unlikely' she'd find success. 'It's highly unlikely she could win the nomination, but she could bring into the primary conversation issues important to voters that moved away from President Trump in 2020,' Tomlinson said.  'If Cheney runs for president, she will be a non-factor if she continues by running a backward facing, fighting the last war, battle against DJT kind of campaign. presidential politics is never about what was, or even what is, but about what is next,' Boyd Matheson, who hosts...
A ‘cannibal’ coronal mass ejection (CME) is barreling toward Earth that has a 10 percent chance of producing X-class flares, major events that can trigger radio blackouts, when it hits our planet Thursday. CMEs are large expulsions of plasma and magnetic field from the sun's corona – the outermost layer of a star's atmosphere. This week’s CMEs, released Monday from sunspot AR3078, gobbled up a previous ejection from Sunday and is now a ‘mish mash of the two’ with tangled magnetic fields and compressed plasma that are known to cause strong geomagnetic storms. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) experts are expecting G1- (minor) to G2-class (moderate) geomagnetic storms, which will likely produce auroras as far south as New York and Idaho. In addition to an X-class warning, space weather forecasters say there is a 30 percent chance the shockwaves could result in M-class flares -medium-sized events that cause brief radio blackouts. There will be a moment Saturday morning, shortly after the Chicago Bears arrive at Soldier Field but well before kickoff, when Micah Dew-Treadway will make his way to the field for a moment of gratitude and reflection. He plans to take a few deep breaths and a long look around the stadium to appreciate the climb that has put him on this stage. He’s in the NFL as an undrafted rookie fighting for a roster spot on the team he grew up rooting for. “I’ll take a few pictures, take some videos, soak that up pretty good,” Dew-Treadway said. “I’ll look up to my parents. But not too much. My mom’s going to be pretty emotional. And I’ll take that time to take it all in.” And then? Well, then Dew-Treadway will flip a switch, understanding his four-month audition to become a long-term contributor to the Bears is about to intensify. His NFL preseason debut will come against the Kansas City Chiefs. And the 25-year-old defensive tackle plans to use whatever playing time he gets Saturday to prove to Bears...

Over the weekend, debris from an out-of-control Chinese rocket crashed to Earth over the Indian and Pacific oceans. There had been fears that pieces of the 23-tonne Long March 5B booster could come down over a populated area, but experts had said the probability of this was extremely low. Nevertheless, NASA hit out at China by accusing Beijing of not sharing the 'specific trajectory information' needed to calculate where possible debris might fall.  Elsewhere at the weekend, a 10ft (3m) piece of space junk – thought to be from one of Elon Musk's spacecrafts – crashed into a farmer's property in Australia at around 15,500mph (25,000km/h). The object, believed to be part of the SpaceX Crew-1 craft, was found in a sheep paddock by a farmer living on a large property in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales. These events have sparked further questions about the threat of space debris to people on the ground, although experts insist it is still a very remote possibility that anyone would be hurt. A recent study by scientists at the University of British Columbia in...
Zach McKinstry had a feeling he soon would be on the move from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Conversations with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and understanding how he fit in the organization’s plans prepared McKinstry for Saturday’s trade to the Chicago Cubs. He joined the team Sunday and was added to the roster after first baseman Alfonso Rivas was optioned to Triple-A Iowa. McKinstry already might be endearing himself to Chicago. He gave a shout-out in a social media post to deep-dish pizza and Lou Malnati’s. McKinstry grew up about three hours away in Fort Wayne, Ind., and made “a bunch” of trips to Chicago. He even received a direct message from Lou Malnati’s on Instagram. “Definitely know a lot of other pizza and a big fan of their pizza,” McKinstry said before Sunday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants. “In Phoenix where I live now, we go at least once a month to splurge a little bit.” Joining the Cubs presents a fresh opportunity for the 27-year-old infielder/outfielder and potentially more playing time, something that was limited on a...

Governor Larry Hogan suggested that after Donald Trump's candidate won Maryland's GOP gubernatorial primary this month, his potential ambitions for a White House run are emboldened. 'Does this [loss] make you more or less likely to run for president in 2024?' ABC News' Jonathon Karl asked Hogan in an interview on the This Week program. He added: 'We got our work cut out for us but I'm certainly not giving up.' Hogan backed Kelly Schulz in the GOP primary election last Tuesday, but she lost to Dan Cox, who had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. He admitted that Cox's win wasn't only a loss for Schulz, but also for him and his legacy. The Maryland governor claimed that it's very unlikely Cox will win the general election come November. Rory McIlroy enters the final round on Sunday at St. Andrews with a share of the British Open lead. He secured his final pairing spot with an electric eagle on the final hole. McIlroy has long awaited a chance like this at the British Open on such a historic course. Opportunities in 2010 and 2015 went by the wayside, making 2022 his best chance yet. If you want to know how much Tiger is enjoying being here in this hallowed place, how much it means after all he went through, it was all there as he savaged those in their 20s who opted instead to give hard work a miss and take the easy money.  Tiger Woods has backed his decision to turn down nearly $1billion to join the LIV Golf series 'They have gone right from the amateur ranks to that organisation and never really had a chance to feel what it is like to play a schedule or play in big events. 'Some of these players may never even get a chance to play in major championships....
Xavier Becerra, President Joe Biden’s Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary, warned that there is a “strong chance” the country will see a “resurgence” of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic — a prediction that comes as Americans worry less and less about the virus in everyday life. “What I will tell you is that come the fall and winter, most everyone who’s an expert on pandemics and these viruses will tell you there’s a strong chance that we’ll see a resurgence of the virus — whether it’s the variants that we have now or new variants, and we gotta be ready,” Becerra told a reporter: Joe Biden REPEATEDLY promised hed "shut down the virus." But Biden had no plan. He lied. pic.twitter.com/mXu6DuaWty — RNC Research (@RNCResearch) July 11, 2022 Indeed, one of President Biden’s biggest selling points during the campaign was shutting down the virus, which never happened. Even the New York Times, earlier this year, admitted that Biden had failed to do so. “Since he was inaugurated on Jan. 20 last year, 438,110 people have died from the virus, a...
Scientists have warned there is a 10 per cent chance that an out-of-control rocket or spacecraft could kill someone within the next decade. They analysed the risk to human life of objects plummeting to the ground after re-entering the Earth's atmosphere. Under current practices, the researchers found that if a typical rocket re-entry spreads debris across a 10 m2 area then there is roughly a 1 in 10 chance that one or more casualties will occur over the next 10 years. They also said there was a higher risk to those living in the global south, with errant parts three times more likely to land at the latitudes of Jakarta, Dhaka and Lagos than those of New York, Beijing or Moscow.  The research was carried out by experts at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.  Although rocket launches vary, boosters and other sizeable parts from rockets fall back to Earth or are abandoned in orbit.  In most cases, the abandoned rocket parts re-enter the atmosphere in an uncontrolled fashion and debris may land anywhere along the flight path. Scientists have warned...

Former FBI Director James Comey and former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe were each audited by the IRS after being let go by former President Donald Trump. The odds of their audits were statistical longshots, according to the New York Times. Comey was removed from his position at the bureau in 2017, less than four months after Trump took office. His tax return for that year was selected for a random audit. The Times reported, Among tax lawyers, the most invasive type of random audit carried out by the I.R.S. is known, only partly jokingly, as “an autopsy without the benefit of death.” The odds of being selected for that audit in any given year are tiny — out of nearly 153 million individual returns filed for 2017, for example, the I.R.S. targeted about 5,000, or roughly one out of 30,600. In 2018, Trump fired McCabe two days before his retirement. The Times reported, Mr. Comey was informed of the audit in 2019. Two years later, the I.R.S., still under the leadership of a Trump appointee after President Biden took...
Here’s something that did not change at the NBA Draft, which is supposed to be a night of new possibilities and new beginnings, just never around here: The Knicks did not change. The Knicks didn’t change, nor did their possibilities such as they are, at least before they make their run at Jalen Brunson, who apparently is the second coming of Clyde Frazier. There was no new beginning in Brooklyn. There was just the Knicks once again acting like the lumps of their league. We occasionally hear that the only way to build something that truly lasts in the modern NBA is through the draft. Except now, basically, the Knicks don’t even draft. So what really did not change was that in the history of New York sports and New York fans, there has never been anything worse than being a fan of the Knicks of the 21st century. At least the Knicks can win that. The Jets at least went to two AFC championships in the last two decades, before anybody in green wants to raise a hand, or...
Prince William is 'mourning' the collapse of his relationship with his brother Prince Harry but there is little chance of them repairing it in the near future, friends reveal today. The depths of the explosive rift between the siblings are exposed in highly revealing interviews with William's inner circle for the Daily Mail. Relations between the once-close pair are still at 'rock bottom', sources say. 'He truly loves Harry and feels he has lost the only person, aside from his wife, who understood this strange life of theirs. 'But he believes there are things you just don't do. And Harry has 100 per cent crossed that line.' William also believes his brother has 'disrespected the Queen and their family', a friend says. Read...

Actor Matthew McConaughey appeared at the White House on Tuesday to talk about his hometown of Uvalde, Texas where 21 were killed by a mass shooter who bought assault weapons on his 18th birthday. He told a story about one of the many children killed last month: Maite Rodriguez. She wore green converse high-tops to show off her love of the Earth and the environment. She drew a heart on the toe of the shoes. Many of the children were so unrecognizable that the only way they could be identified was from a DNA test comparing them to their parents. In the case of Maite, it was her shoes. McConaughey had someone in the White House press briefing room hold up the shoes as his voice cracked and tears formed in his eyes. He began his speech by saying that he and his wife spent the last week on the ground in Uvalde with the families of the victims. He wants to have a national discussion about how to make the horrifying deaths of these children matter. "While we honor...
The White House, Washington, D.C.Joe Daniel Price | Moment | Getty Images Tens of millions of Americans are waiting anxiously for word from the Biden administration on what it plans to do on broad-based student loan forgiveness. Most recently, the White House was reported to be leaning toward a cancellation plan of $10,000 per borrower (for those who earn under $150,000). Yet President Joe Biden is under intense pressure to do more. The NAACP has also been vocal about how $10,000 wouldn't go nearly far enough for Black student loan borrowers, who carry an average balance more than $50,000 a few years after graduating. It’s one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, but there’s a chance you haven’t heard of padel… yet. So what is it? Tennis with walls, essentially. It’s played on an enclosed court about three-quarters of the size of a normal tennis court.  The main twist is that you can play the ball off the glass walls, as in squash – so there’s no such thing as ‘out’. That leads to long, fast rallies.  It’s played as a doubles game, using solid, string-less bats and you serve underarm. Scoring is the same as tennis. When was it invented? In 1969, by Mexican businessman Enrique Corcuera, who wanted a tennis court at his Acapulco home, but didn’t have the space – and was worried about losing the ball into his neighbour’s garden.  His wife Viviana, a former Miss Argentina, helped put together the rules, based on a 1920s pastime played on British cruise ships. Being obese as a teenager doubles the risk of developing type 1 diabetes, a form of the disease not usually associated with weight. Researchers in Israel discovered the link after analysing the medical records of almost 1.5 million people, aged 16 to 29, undergoing medical tests before military service. The fattest five per cent had twice the chance of suffering from type 1 diabetes, against those of a healthy weight The fattest five per cent had twice the chance of suffering from type 1 diabetes, against those of a healthy weight. For the overweight, there was a 54 per cent increased risk. The team behind the research, presented this weekend at the annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association and published in the journal Diabetologia, said: ‘Our findings have public health implications. As the various working members of the Royal Family fanned out across the country yesterday – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Wales, Princess Anne at Epsom, the Earl and Countess of Wessex in Belfast – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were celebrating their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday in Windsor. Might they have popped over to the castle to visit the Queen? One can imagine Her Majesty – who had never met her great-granddaughter until last week – would have been delighted. Under normal circumstances it might even have been turned into a bigger occasion, a chance for several generations of the family to come together and create some memories, as she herself put it recently. After all, the Queen is not the only relative Lilibet – or, for that matter, her older brother Archie – has had little chance to get to know. Uncles, aunts, cousins, their grandfather Prince Charles – all remain virtual strangers to the Sussex children. Which is a shame because, as Prince Harry knows from his close friendship with his own cousins, Princesses...
DENVER (CBS4) – A dynamic late spring storm will move into Colorado late Saturday and early Sunday. It will bring a cold front that will drop temperatures by several degrees for the last half of the holiday weekend. We’ll also see high mountain snow along with lower elevation showers and thunderstorms. Speaking of storms, there is a marginal chance that we could see a few storms reach severe limits on Sunday. The best chance for that would be anywhere along and north of Interstate 70. If storms become severe the main threats will include wind gusts in excess of 58 mph and hail an inch or larger in diameter. But there is always a chance to see an isolated tornado. In the higher mountains it will be cold enough to see snow. mainly above 10,000 feet, where a few inches will be possible, including along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. The rain could mix with snow at times as low as 9,000 feet. Monday will feature more of the same except it will be even cooler...
Known for turning heads with their elaborate ensembles, the Kardashian-Jenner clan didn't disappoint when attending Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's glamorous wedding ceremony in Portofino on Sunday evening. Kourtney, 43, looked nothing short of sensational in a figure-hugging Dolce & Gabbana minidress that boasted corset detailing and a dramatic lacy skirt and billowing train as she said 'I do' to the rocker, 46, in an alfresco service at the medieval Castello Brown fortress. Keeping up with the bride, Kim Kardashian, 41, looked equally dramatic in a black dress with lace overlay across the bust, paired with an ornate gold and jewel cross choker. Khloe Kardashian, 37, twinned in a similar gothic outfit, wearing a chic sheer tiered, off-the-shoulder black dress with lace detail and an eye-catching gold headpiece shaped like the sun. TV & celebrity fashion expert Miranda Holder told FEMAIL that the attire - 'more reminiscent of funerals rather than weddings' - was an 'unusual choice for such an occasion' but was a 'classic Kardashian statement dressing tactic'.  Kim, Khloe, their mother Kris and their sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner all sported Dolce & Gabbana...
By Michael Hurley, CBS Boston BOSTON (CBS) — Through two games in Carolina, things haven’t looked too great for the Bruins. The outlook isn’t any prettier. At least, not if history is the guide. Obviously, taking a 2-0 series lead is rather advantageous for the team leading, but the extent to which that has proven to be a death sentence for the losing team may surprise you. In the history of every seven-game series in the NHL, when the home team wins the first two games to take a 2-0 lead, that team has gone on to win the series 88.7 percent of the time. Some amateur mathematics would indicate that historical results currently give the Bruins an 11.3 percent chance of winning this series. However, quite a bit obviously hinges on Friday night’s Game 3. When the team leading 2-0 wins Game 3 on the road, that team has won the series 97.9 percent of the time. They are 141-3 in those scenarios, and a Game 7 has only been forced six times. For that matter, a Game 6 has...
(CNN)As a special grand jury convenes to consider potential criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, we'll surely learn much about the evidence gathered by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her team of prosecutors and investigators in Georgia. The evidence appears to be sufficient to justify an indictment -- but, even if a grand jury ultimately does return a criminal charge, prosecutors will need to overcome a series of legal and practical obstacles before Trump faces meaningful consequences. Elie HonigWe already have a good sense about Willis' substantive focus. In her January 2022 letter to the Georgia judiciary requesting a special grand jury, Willis wrote that she has evidence establishing a "reasonable probability that the State of Georgia's administration of elections in 2020 ... was subject to possible criminal disruptions." It is a crime under Georgia law to "solicit" election fraud, including "willfully tamper[ing]" with votes or final certification. The central piece of publicly-available evidence is Trump's infamous January 2, 2021 phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Trump begged Raffensperger to throw some votes his way:...
