ST. LOUIS (AP) — A woman was charged Thursday with a misdemeanor after her 12-year-old nephew was shot and killed by his younger brother, St. Louis prosecutors said. Aja Johnson, 36, was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child after the boy was shot at a home on Tuesday in north St. Louis. Johnson was being held without bail on Thursday at the City Justice Center. It was not immediately clear if she has a lawyer. Copyright © 2022 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. A Howard County judge ordered Burnham to be committed to the health department until he is competent to stand trial, or there is no indication he will become competent to stand trial. The killing of a battered and bloodied woman found stuffed in the trunk of a car on a Paterson street took some new turns, including an immediate guilty plea from the primary witness and two more arrests. Passaic County prosecutors dropped murder and conspiracy charges against Joelle Martucci, 24, as part of deal that will keep her out of prison. In return, Martucci agreed to testify against her fiancé, Justin Fisher, who is now the lone defendant charged with murder in last month’s death and dumping of 38-year-old single mom Stephanie DeJesus. Although how and why DeJesus was killed still haven’t been addressed, Martucci outlined what came next as part of a plea deal approved by a judge in Paterson. Martucci told the judge during a March 18 virtual plea hearing  that she found DeJesus’s body and “a lot of blood” on the floor of the Gordon Avenue apartment she shares with Fisher after arriving there on Feb. 23. Fisher didn’t explain what happened to DeJesus, Martucci said. Instead, she said, he told her she had no choice but to...
