An investment banker handicapping the future of the stock market on CNBC got photobombed Monday by a man walking through the background of her interview in nothing but his underwear. Karen Firestone, 66, a frequent guest on the business network's Wall Street show, Squawk Box, had a rough TV hit when her interview was interrupted first by her barking dogs then by the hilarious sight of a man speed-walking in the background in a pair of blue boxers.  The financial analyst tried to put an optimistic spin on the market's grim future, saying 'Today, I think you have to root for the upside.' A fast-walking man in boxers traipsed through the background as Karen Firestone, bottom, appeared on the morning financial show Squawk Box with Andrew Ross Sorkin Before the half-naked man appeared behind her, Karen Firestone's Springer Spaniels started barking during her segment As she opined on earning statements of Citigroup and the Fed's decision to not to raise interest rates quite so high, a chorus of barking dogs chimed in, drowning her out. Firestone says on her online...
Karen Firestone of Aureus Asset Management? Today is the day you will receive a LOT of attention for appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box. Unfortunately for you, the vast amount of eyeballs you will receive will be less about your rapier insights and more about the be-boxered gentleman quietly traipsing across the background of your live shot. The Monday morning appearance of the CEO and Chairman of Aureus was initially interrupted by the sound of dogs barking, which was deftly handled by anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin who cleverly referenced the “dog days” in the context of investing.  But the barking may have only drawn distracted eyes to a brief moment when a man in his civvies was seen walking behind Firestone’s background. Not much to say here other than anyone who has done a live television appearance from the comfort of their own home understands the perils of such an endeavor, and Firestone handled the potential mishap with grace and aplomb. Alexei Navalny did not even have to alter his voice to convince the man on the line that he was a senior intelligence official – Pavel Golovkin/AP Alexei Navalny on Monday released an audio confession from one of the men allegedly behind his near-fatal poisoning, following a sting operation in which he called the man up and posed as a Russian intelligence official.  The confession further adds to the acute embarrassment of the Russian intelligence community after an independent investigation into Mr Navalny’s poisoning came out last week detailing a full-fledged state-run operation to try to kill the opposition leader. The 44-year-old Kremlin critic fell suddenly ill on a plane from Siberia to Moscow in August before it made an emergency landing at a nearby airport. Mr Navalny was eventually transferred to a hospital in Germany and lay in a coma for weeks. Several European laboratories have since confirmed that he was poisoned with the Soviet-era Novichok nerve agent. Mr Navalny on Monday published a staggering recording of his 49-minute sting call to Konstantin Kudryatvev, an alleged Russian intelligence...
Police body camera has captured the moment officers were greeted by a man with a shotgun as they responded to a domestic violence call in Mississippi.  The man - identified as 47-year-old Kenneth Dale Miller - was later shot dead by cops after a dramatic standoff that lasted nearly three hours.  The incident occurred in Oxford on Thursday evening after a neighbor called 911 claiming he may have witnessed a domestic violence incident at The Mark Apartments - a condominium complex in the city's south.  'I just heard screaming, and what I saw was a guy pull a lady up the stairs and back into their apartments,' the caller told a dispatcher in an audio recording which was released by the Oxford Police Department.  Two officers arrived on the scene 10 minutes later, knocking on the door of the suspect's apartment.  Bodycam footage shows it was pitch black outside as they waited for the man to answer.  Police body camera has captured the moment officers were greeted by a man with a shotgun as they responded to a...

"That’s a pretty significant number for us to encounter," said Commander Jonathon Halliday, of the Houston Police Department. Most of the those found inside the property told officers they were being held against their will, say reports. Cops said the victims were not bound but had been locked inside the house - which also had boarded up windows. They were found in every room inside the three-bedroom property including the attic, say police. One man reportedly sustained minor injuries after falling through the ceiling and was taken to hospital. 5Many of those...
BERKELEY (CBS SF) — Police on Wednesday confirmed the arrest last week of a Berkeley man suspected of possessing an array of drugs for sale, including 7 grams of cocaine found hidden in his underwear after booking him into jail, officials said. When 23-year-old Nikolai Cherednichenki was pulled over on a traffic stop on Nov. 26 around 12:25 a.m. near Adeline Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way, police discovered he was driving on a suspended license. When officers searched Cherednichenki, they discovered over 28 grams of cocaine in his pockets. Officers warned the suspect that bringing narcotics into the jail would be a felony offense. After he walked into jail, however, staff there discovered that he had an additional 7 grams of cocaine hidden in his underwear, police said. Racing Point missed out on a podium at the Imola Grand Prix. The team’s pit strategy caused Sergio Perez to fall from P4 to P6 as the safety car poured cold water over their podium chances. However, the team’s Technical Director later clarified that it was the best strategy for Perez at the moment. Moreover, Lance Stroll finished outside of the points tally at P13. The team clearly did not enjoy a great day at Imola. Additionally, a Racing Point mechanic was hit by Lance Stroll as he overshot his stop coming into the pit. It was later announced by the team that the mechanic was just a little bruised and it was nothing serious. The jackman was back to work with the pack right after his tumble. After a couple of days, Sergio Perez mentioned the jackman on his story with a hilarious caption. “I would make sure I bring some new underwear to him in Turkey. Dale is the man!”  He also assured everyone that the jackman is fine after the incident. The troublesome incident Lance Stroll...

Earlier this week, it was reported that the footballer is set to miss out on a BBC Sports Personality of the Year nomination, despite his remarkable charity work. Rashford is odds-on favourite with the bookies for the award after earning plaudits for his tireless campaigning for disadvantaged children to receive free meals during school holidays. But the reports claim the star is likely to be overlooked as the Beeb's guidelines state only 'sporting achievements' can be considered - despite the name of the award. 4The kids’ food champion wowed in a pair of black...
In this specific situation, yes, at least a little bit of clothing certainly seems essential. A man in Wales claims he wore only underwear to a local Tesco supermarket in order to protest the country’s ban on the sale of nonessential items amid the pandemic, as seen in footage shared to social media over the weekend. In the video, Christopher Noden, from Newport, is seen walking into the store in just his boxer briefs and a mask. Noden is then approached by a security guard who tells him he can’t enter, only for Noden and his wife, Dawn, to question why he’s required to wear clothes if clothes themselves are indeed “nonessential.” The guard and the couple go back and forth about the ban, during which time the guard can be heard telling them to “take it up with the government.” PERSON IN POLICE CUSTODY DONATES SCRATCH-TICKET WINNINGS TO COPS, TELLS THEM TO BUY 'DECENT COFFEE" On Sunday, however, the Welsh government defended its decision to advise that supermarkets and department stores restrict the sale of clothing, toys, bedding and...
WOODRIDGE, Ill. (CBS) — Police in Woodridge were searching Monday for a man who grabbed a woman and pulled her pants down this past weekend. Officers were called at 11:37 a.m. Sunday to the bike path in the 7100 block of Woodridge Drive in the western suburb. A 30-year-old woman had been walking west on the bike path when a man approached her coming the opposite way, police said. After the woman passed the man, he ran up from behind, grabbed her pants and underwear, and pulled them down, police said. The man then hopped onto a bicycle he had stashed off the bike path and rode away, police said. He headed south on Woodridge Drive. A witness approached a responding officer and said he saw the assailant ride the bicycle 40 feet from the sidewalk into the woods, drop the bike, run south toward 75th Street, and then run west into the woods, police said. Police did find the abandoned bicycle and took it, but the man remained at large Monday night. The assailant was described as a Hispanic...
Kanye West needs help. Urgently. He's not a presidential candidate - he's a very sick man having a very nasty 'episode'. The rap star's performance last night at his supposed 'campaign rally' in Charleston was one of the most shocking and disturbing celebrity meltdowns I've witnessed, and whilst it's easy to laugh and mock him, I genuinely believe it's now too serious to do that. It wasn't just his wild rambling delivery that was so unsettling. We've seen this kind of thing many times from Kanye before and most of it smacks of attention-seeking narcissism. What was so troubling about this one was what he was actually saying. He warmed up with an appalling attack on famed slave abolitionist Harriet Tubman, saying she 'never actually freed the slaves. She just had the slaves go work for other white people.' This about a woman who repeatedly risked her life, with a massive bounty on her head, to free at least 300 slaves over a 10-year period. Kanye West's performance last night at his supposed 'campaign rally' in Charleston was one of...
A 35-year-old man was arrested this week wearing nothing but his underwear after a Simi Valley resident called police to report that the man was trying to break into his home. Officers responded to the home in the 1600 block of Hi Drive early Sunday after the resident reported that he was watching his security camera and saw a man trying to enter his window. When officers arrived, they found clothing that had been left outside. Authorities searched the area and found a man, later identified as Matthew Rey Scott, hiding in the neighborhood in his underwear. Scott ran from officers before he was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted burglary, evading and a community release violation, police said. Police did not specify the circumstances surrounding the alleged community release violation. As of Tuesday, Scott remained in Ventura County Jail in lieu of $135,000 bail. It was not immediately clear whether Scott has an attorney.
