    SAN JOSE – A 41-year-old San Jose man has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and weapons violations, police said. Officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Malott Drive around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for a report of domestic violence, San Jose police Sgt. Christian Camarillo said in a news release. The victim said the suspect had strangled her and threatened her with a gun. Camarillo said an investigation revealed the suspect had multiple firearms registered to him. At 4:45 p.m., the suspect left the home and was taken into custody with the help of a police dog, Camarillo said. Officers checked the interior of the residence and discovered what appeared to be evidence of firearms assembling and manufacturing. Camarillo said officers obtained a search warrant for the home and found a cache of firearms and parts as well as tools to make parts. An illegal, short-barreled assault rifle was also allegedly seized. “At this time, it is believed the suspect was not only assembling and manufacturing firearms, but was also selling them illegally,” Camarillo said....

    Bay City News Service ROSS — Joshua Irwin Schiller, Gov. Newsom’s brother-in-law, was arrested Wednesday night in Ross for alleged domestic violence, police officials said. Ross police officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. to a disturbance at a residence. Upon speaking with the residents and investigating the disturbance, responding officers determined Schiller had allegedly committed an act of domestic violence against his spouse/cohabitant. According to police, the victim had visible injuries that were minor in nature and did not require immediate medical treatment. Schiller was arrested and booked at Marin County Jail on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. Schiller, 40 years old, is a partner at Boies Schiller Flexner law firm, which is based in New York with offices in San Francisco.
    REDWOOD CITY – A 26-year-old parolee has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s Redwood City home, pushing her and taking her car, police said. Officers were called to the 100 block of Locust Avenue about 10:35 p.m. Monday for a report of a domestic disturbance, the Redwood City Police Department said in a news release Tuesday. Police said the suspect had gone to the victim’s home uninvited, kicked open the door and pushed the victim, causing her to fall backward and nearly land on her 2-year-old child. The suspect then allegedly took the victim’s car keys and left in her car. Neither the victim nor her child was seriously injured, police said. The car was found unoccupied in Palo Alto.
