The last time Allie Quigley participated in the 3-point contest, she was booed. It wasn’t because of a poor performance last year. Quite the opposite. It was because she went in front of a raucous crowd at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas after winning the competition and declared she wasn’t going to compete in another 3-point exhibition. A year later, Quigley is already lifting her self-imposed embargo. The three-time All-Star said before the Sky’s 81-78 road loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday that she would compete in this year’s contest, which will take place Saturday at McCormick Place’s practice court. “Everybody was talking to me nonstop about it,” Quigley said after the game. “I didn’t want to let the city down or my family and friends down. It’ll be fun and it’s nice that it’s at home. It’ll be a good experience.” If Quigley wins the 3-point contest, she will become the first WNBA or NBA player to win on four occasions (she won in 2017-18 and 2021). She is tied with Larry Bird and Craig Hodges as...

Improvements to air filtration and ventilation systems were needed well before Covid, and Gupta says air quality will be the biggest challenge for public and workspaces of this century. "Go...

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sided with local school boards and employers who have decided to hand down vaccine requirements, in remarks in his home state of Kentucky, where he also expressed shock that people wouldn't want to take the coronavirus vaccine. 'They can weigh the evidence, look at the effectiveness, and make those decisions. I think it’s better left to the employers and school boards,' McConnell said, speaking at the University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy. McConnell also expressed surprise at the emergence of vaccine hesitancy – which have led to huge gaps of vaccinations in parts of the South, and in particular in counties that heavily backed former President Donald Trump.  'Honestly my friends it never occurred to me that we’d have a challenge getting people to take the vaccine, but that’s where we are,' McConnell...

We have always lost against them and it would be something wonderful and very special to be able to succeed. “, said this Monday, at a press conference organized by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), prior to Tuesday’s duel. The Catalan denied, yes, that this American team is inferior to others. “I don’t think this team is less talented than some of the other great American teams. They were with an unmade team, with three players who joined the day before, now they have filming,” he said. “We knew that if we lost it would be a toss-up and it was the United States. If we had...

MTV/YouTube The Challenge Double Agents In the past, “The Challenge” has been responsible for creating strong friendships and relationships but it has also been the cause of rivalries and the breakup of some of these bonds. The last season of the show, “The Challenge: Double Agents,” was no different as it changed the dynamic between two veterans of the show who went into the season as allies. Theresa Jones, nee Gonzalez, made her return to the franchise after a long break and it appeared to most that she had a strong friendship and alliance with fellow vet Aneesa Ferreira. However, as the show went on, fans saw that Theresa began forming her own alliance with the rookie girls on the season and wasn’t being completely straight with Aneesa. Theresa eventually alienated a large part of the house after she and her partner Jay Starrett won a daily challenge and sent in Kam Williams to face Ashley Mitchell, blindsiding several competitors in the process. The move backfired as both Jay and Theresa found themselves in the firing line in...

Facebook/MTV Chris 'CT' Tamburello Chris “CT” Tamburello is without a doubt a “Challenge” legend and despite many strong competitors making their debuts on the show in recent years, his win on “Double Agents” proved that he is still a threat to be reckoned with due to both his physical and mental strengths. During “Double Agents,” it appeared as though “Big Brother” star Fessy Shafaat would be trying to give CT a run for his money, as he is one of the few players who can match CT’s physically imposing size. Although the two did not face off in elimination, they did go head-to-head during a daily challenge when they wrestled on top of a moving semi-truck but the contest timed out without a winner. Now, it seems as though Fessy is impatient to prove his physical prowess against CT and has called out the “Challenge” legend to face him in a boxing ring to determine who is the strongest of the two. An Iranian warship possibly en route to Venezuela that is believed to be carrying weapons and fast attack war craft could also be transporting millions of gallons of fuel in a ploy to get around US sanctions because the vessel is subject to sovereign immunity.  The Makran vessel, which is a converted oil tanker that can carry three million gallons of fuel, is one of two warships currently sailing in the Atlantic Ocean after departing from the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas on April 29. Despite fears the warships are carrying weapons as well as oil, US authorities are unable to stop them - even if they are violating sanctions like the ones imposed by the US on Venezuela - because the vessels are subject to sovereign immunity in international waters.  Ships that are government-owned or operated are granted immunity under the United Nations Convention and cannot be subject to the jurisdiction of any country, unless they threaten the coastal state.  Previous shipments of oil to Venezuela from Iran that have been carried out on commercial vessels have been seized by US authorities. The two warships...
