A frustrated Alec Baldwin insisted he did not pull the trigger of the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his movie Rust, claiming again that the faulty gun fired on its own and that the 'only' question to ask is who put a live bullet in the stunt weapon.  Baldwin is awaiting a decision from prosecutors in New Mexico who must decide whether or not he should be criminally charged over the accident that occurred last October.  They are yet to make a ruling, and are now no doubt weighing a damning FBI report released last week that said the gun could not have possible gone off without Baldwin deliberately firing it.  In an interview with Chris Cuomo on his new YouTube show, The Chris Cuomo Project, the actor said he'd grown tired of waiting for a decision from prosecutors, but that he has been told not by his attorney not to push for one.  The interview appears to have been filmed before the FBI report was made public but it was only published on Tuesday...
A mother whose 50th birthday party erupted into a brawl has told of how she was 'punched in the boobs' while a guest who started the scrap ended up with a tooth knocked out.  As the number of people watching a video of the mayhem on social media soared to more than a million, Lisa Keegan, from Colne, Lancashire, insisted today: ‘We are not a rough family - but that day it all got out of hand.’ Lisa said her birthday celebration started off in a civilised way with 15 guests enjoying a spread of food including a cheese board, sandwiches and a birthday cake in her shaded back garden. But carnage began to unfold as the drink started flowing and the partygoers moved to the sloping front lawn so they could soak up the rays of the setting sun outside her home in north west England. In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Lisa told how her daughter Colleen, 33, and a friend’s teenage grandson first crashed to the floor after their bench collapsed. Remarkably, Colleen did not spill...
Donald Trump gives the keynote address at the Faith & Freedom Coalition during their annual "Road To Majority" conference at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, June 17, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee. Mike Pence survived the Jan. 6 insurrection, but Donald Trump isn't done with him yet. At an evangelical political conference in Nashville on Friday, Trump used a keynote speech to once again disparage Pence's lack of "courage" to overturn the 2020 election. “Mike Pence had a chance to be great," Trump told attendees of the Faith and Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority" conference. "He had a chance to be, frankly, historic, but just like Bill Barr and the rest of these weak people, Mike did not have the courage to act," Trump said, also taking a swipe at his one-time attorney general whose candid deposition has made him a star witness in the Jan. 6 hearings. Trump also predictably blasted the Jan. 6 investigation as a "one-sided witch hunt" and said the House select committee investigating the attack was spinning a "ludicrous narrative" about his involvement. “There’s...
The View co-host Sunny Hostin argued with co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin over former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper‘s tardy revelations about ex-President Donald Trump’s outrageous behind-the-scenes behavior. On Tuesday’s edition of ABC’s The View, the hosts discussed some of the bombshell revelations in Esper’s book A Sacred Oath: Memoirs of a Secretary of Defense During Extraordinary Times, and related promotional media tour. Co-host Joy Behar ripped Esper for not revealing at the time “that a sociopath was in the office,” but Farah Griffin defended her old boss on the basis that to do so would have meant Esper’s ouster — and replacement with someone worse. Hostin disagreed, and in a contentious exchange with Farah Griffin, said that Esper could have prevented the Jan. 6th attack if he had spoken up: SUNNY HOSTIN: They should have. They should have said something. ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: But he was still the president, is the problem… SUNNY HOSTIN: I think this is a cowardly action. I’m tired of this ridiculous apology tour. I’m sorry, Alissa. I’m sick of it! I’m sick of people now coming out and trying to sell a book. And...
In recent years, a new phrase has entered the conversation around trans rights: TERF. This phrase, which stands for trans exclusionary radical feminist, is used to describe women who identify as feminists but exclude the rights of transgender people — particularly transgender women — from their principles and beliefs. This is an extremely harmful way of thinking and speaking and can seriously impact how transgender people, trans women especially, are seen and treated in society. Source: Rowan Ellis/Youtube What is the ideology of a “TERF”? Where mainstream feminism seeks to illuminate, challenge, and alleviate the unique issues that face women, TERFs essentially deny the existence of transgender women. Not only are trans people excluded from these conversations, but this often coincides with the perpetuation of harmful myths about trans women being a danger in women’s spaces. These views have gone beyond regressive conversations, and now they are opposing trans rights legislation like the US Equality Act.  While the phrase has gained more traction over the past few years, the term was coined in 2008 by activist and writer...

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Saturday marks 10 years since death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The killing of the Florida teen at the hands of a stranger still reverberates, especially with his father, Tracy Martin. Martin still spends hours at the Miramar park where his son Trayvon grew up playing football.  He still coaches kids there. READ MORE: Unseasonably Warm Thursday, Nice Beach BreezeThe place still brings back vivid memories of the son whom he described as a flower waiting to blossom. Ten years after his son’s death, Tracy Martin believes that his son would have grown up to be an aviation mechanic. He had taken quite an interest in aviation. Trayvon never got that chance.  At age 17, he was shot and killed after being confronted by self-proclaimed neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman, who spotted the teen walking back to his father’s townhouse, after a quick trip for candy and a drink at a nearby convenience store. Trayvon became a symbol of young Black men being racially profiled, and when Zimmerman was later acquitted of murder, Martin became seen as a martyr...
Tou Thao testified in his own defense in a federal civil rights trial on Tuesday  Tou Thao, one of three former Minneapolis police officers on trial for violating George Floyd's civil rights, told a jury on Tuesday he did not realize the black man was being asphyxiated while a white officer knelt on his neck for nine minutes. Testifying in his own defense, Thao, 36, said he assumed Floyd's heart was still beating because he never saw the other officers attempt to revive him as they were trained to do. Thao, 36, is on trial in the U.S. District Court in St. Paul alongside J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane.  All three are accused of violating Floyd's right to receive medical care as he lay dying, unable to properly breathe face down beneath the knee of their former colleague, Derek Chauvin. Wednesday, FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host Tucker Carlson dismissed the claim CNN head Jeff Zucker lost his position at the long-time cable news network for an improper romantic relationship he allegedly did not disclose. According to Carlson, Zucker’s supposed indiscretion was well known, which made it difficult for Carlson to accept. The FNC host speculated it had more to do with other reasons, including bad ratings. Transcript as follows: CARLSON: You probably heard CNN President, Jeff Zucker, got fired this morning. In a statement, Zucker said he has been dating a colleague, didn’t disclose it, and when his bosses found out, they made him leave. That’s not true. Everyone in the TV business already knew about Zucker’s relationship with the head of CNN’s Marketing Department. Every executive in television has known about it for years, it was definitely not a secret. So Jeff Zucker did not get canned for his sex life. New management wanted him out of CNN for other reasons, including bad ratings, and maybe others that we’ll find out later. So the relationship was just a pretext...
Chris Coduto/Getty Images The Indianapolis Colts placed Carson Wentz on the Covid list Tuesday, and may be without their starting quarterback in a crucial game on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Colts announced the move on Tuesday, but did not specify whether the unvaccinated Wentz had tested positive for the virus. If he did test positive, per the NFL’s protocols Wentz would have to spend 10 days on the Covid list and may need to miss Sunday’s game depending on when the positive result occurred. Under the current rules, vaccinated players who test positive are able to test out of quarantine, provided they have been asymptomatic for at least 24 hours. Another dynamic at play is that the NFL and NFL Players Association are reportedly close to implementing new guidelines in accordance with those put forth by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. If adopted, the new rule would reduce the amount of time players must quarantine from 10 days to five days. That agreement could be reached as early as Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Nearly 500 Los Angeles Unified School District employees were fired this week for refusing to comply with a mandate that they get vaccinated against Covid-19, while some 34,000 students have not yet been vaccinated as required. The school board voted 7-0 in separate motions on Tuesday to terminate 496 employees, who make up less than 1 per cent of the district's approximately 73,000 workers.  Most of those fired had likely been on leave since mid-October when LAUSD staffers were to have received at least their first vaccine dose, the Los Angeles Daily News reported. Employees were required to receive their second dose by November 15.  But they may be eligible to get their jobs back if they choose to get vaccinated against Covid-19.  Nearly 500 Los Angeles Unified School District employees were fired this week for refusing to comply with a mandate that they get vaccinated against Covid-19. BERKELEY (KPIX 5) – As the Cal football program postponed this weekend’s game against USC following after 44 players tested positive for COVID-19, an infectious expert at UCSF questions testing those who were asymptomatic. By Noah Sheidlower and Christina Zdanowicz | CNN After battling Covid-19 for almost a month and being released from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Richard Soliz returned to the hospital in late October. But it was not for medical treatment — it was to apologize. Soliz, a graphic artist who had not received a Covid-19 vaccine, spent 28 days on a ventilator and heart monitor at the hospital in late August and much of September. “I am certain that there is truth to this virus, and not being vaccinated leaves you vulnerable to the extent of possibly really taking a person’s life,” Soliz said. “I personally know that, because I was not vaccinated. I did not act, I wasn’t certain, and I nearly lost my life.” Soliz told CNN that he struggled to breathe and felt as though he could have died at any moment. But he wanted to say sorry to those who cared for him, thanking everyone he saw at the facility who played a role in saving his life. “I was literally on my deathbed and hanging...
Fox News’ Jesse Watters said Friday that not a single person has been fired from the network for not getting vaccinated. During CNN’s Thursday night town hall, President Joe Biden defended vaccine mandates for businesses and noted, with some amusement, that Fox News “mandate[s] vaccinations.” Fox News’ policy is not a mandate, but the network does have strict covid-19 protocols. Employees are required to input their vaccination status into a system, and unvaccinated employees or those who haven’t input their status are subject to daily testing. Fox & Friends hit the president and said he’s pushing “misinformation,” followed by Watters similarly slamming Biden while guest hosting Tucker Carlson Tonight. “For weeks, Joe Biden has claimed that this network, Fox News, mandates that its employees take the covid shot. That’s never been true,” he said. “No one corrects the lie.” Watters did not respond by telling viewers what Fox News’ policy actually is, but he did state the following: To be clear, not a single person has been fired from Fox for refusing to get vaccinated. Period. You can watch above,...

(CNN)Nearly 66 million people in the United States who are eligible still have not gotten vaccinated against Covid-19, no matter how much danger that puts them in and no matter how many incentives or mandates have been thrown at them. This sounds like something the investigations of the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol should be taking a very close look at: Most of the ground-floor windows and doors in the Capitol had been reinforced just a couple years ago. But the insurrectionists were in several cases able to zero in on the dozen or so ground-floor windows and doors that hadn’t been reinforced, the Los Angeles Times reports. Most of the building’s ground floor had been strengthened in a 2017-2019 renovation, with the view that the biggest threat the Capitol was likely to face came from a bomb outside of the building, and a large risk to human life would come from flying glass. A few windows weren’t reinforced either because they were seen as unlikely to pose an implosion risk or because the heavier frames of bomb-proof glass couldn’t be supported by specific parts of the old building. They were left reinforced only by thin Kevlar film added after 9/11. The reasons for the choices about reinforcing or not reinforcing any given window are worth revisiting, and maybe the security improvements made...

He added that the U.S. would work to get them out diplomatically by the State Department. "I don't know if it's too grumpy and cruel to say in a sense but if I could tell my 8-year-old son one thing that maybe he would stick to, I would really encourage him to not get married in his 20s," Faris said. Doyle agreed: "It should be illegal." A post shared by Anna Faris (@annafaris) Faris first got married to actor Ben Indra in 2004 when she was 27. The...

Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page's shock departure from the hit Netflix show came after a fallout with executive producer Shonda Rhimes over 'creative differences'.  The 31-year-old actor left fans heartbroken when he revealed earlier this month that his character, the Duke of Hastings, would not be returning for the second season of the popular period drama — prompting furious speculation that Page was in the running to take over the role of James Bond.  However, a source has now claimed to Page Six that Page's decision to quit Bridgerton was actually sparked by tension with Rhimes over the fact that his character was not going to be the 'focal point' of the second season.  'Regé is not coming back to Bridgerton because of creative differences with Shonda Rhimes and her team,' a 'Hollywood source' told the publication.  'He wasn’t happy with what was planned for his character for season two, which would have kept him a player but not the focal point of the show.'  Gone: Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page's shock departure from the hit Netflix show came after a fallout...
The Archbishop of Canterbury, the leader of the Anglican church, has broken his silence to confirm that no, Harry and Meghan did not get married in secret three days before their official wedding, as they told Oprah Winfrey. The archbishop’s comments in an interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica are likely to be the final word on the subject after the couple themselves last week clarified to The Daily Beast that what Meghan described as a marriage taking place three days before the televised ceremony was actually a private blessing. In an unusual intervention, Justin Welby said he would have committed a “serious criminal offence” if he had signed a “false” marriage certificate. Welby has come under pressure from some within the church to clarify the situation as other vicars have said they were being asked to carry out outdoor weddings following the interview. Under Church of England laws a religious wedding ceremony can only take place in a church. The marriage certificate, showing the date of the wedding as May 19, the date of the televised ceremony watched by...
There are those who never usually catch the indirect when they receive it: they do not understand it or they think it is a joke. There are also those who live in the innocent without knowing anything, in addition, this is accentuated if the communication is through social networks. The same has happened to a young Twitter user and a girl who, apparently, he liked. @ GusCGE_22, uploaded a screenshot where you could see that he kept a conversation, apparently normal, with a friend. During the talk, the tweeter confesses to the girl his feelings with a strategy that surely many have carried out at some time in their lives: ask how to declare to another girl who is not her. “What I can do?“asks the young man. However, the girl seems to have the same flirting abilities than her partner, since she replies that she also does not know what to do in this type of situation, but that it is best to be as natural as possible and let him say it as his heart asks:...
The federal prosecutor who said Donald Trump could face charges in the riot at the U.S. Capitol was not authorized to speak out, and his remarks caused uproar at the Justice Department, according to a new report. Michael Sherwin, the Trump-appointed former acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, broke protocol by not seeking department approval for the interview with 60 Minutes on Sunday, people briefed on the matter told CNN. The remarks reportedly infuriated senior officials in the department, where new Attorney General Merrick Garland is pushing for a 'no drama' policy and discouraging comments on active investigations. 'It's flat out improper,' David Laufman, a former Justice prosecutor, told CNN of Sherwin's interview. Authorities have remained insistent there were no signs of impairment when deputies arrived at the scene. Woods was reportedly found unconscious and when he came to, he told deputies he "did not remember driving" and wasn’t sure how the crash happened, USA Today has reported. Villanueva said the department needed to hire more Drug Recognition Experts (DRE), something he said was a lesson learned when investigating Woods’ crash. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM "For anybody suggesting he somehow received any different treatment than anybody else, he did not," Villanueva said, USA Today reported. "I can tell you this: We do need more drug-recognition experts within the department. We need to hire more, but then again, that costs money. We need to train more. We’re going to be training with the resources we have to increase our pool of available DRE experts." "And that’s something that obviously, lessons learned from every incident and...

Matthew McConaughey is telling all about his "Titanic" audition. Appearing on "Literally! with Rob Lowe" on Thursday, McConaughey went on-record to clarify how exactly his audition for the lead role in "Titanic" went down. "So I went and read with Kate Winslet [who starred as Rose] and it was not one of the auditions — they filmed it so it was like into screen test time," McConaughey, 51, explained. "After we left, you know, it was one of those ones where they, like, followed me and when we got outside they were like, ‘That went great.' I mean, kind of like hugs. I really thought it was going to happen. It did not." Though the actor was led to believe the role would go to him based on his audition, the lead role of Jack ultimately went to Leonardo DiCaprio. The actor then took the time to shoot down rumors once and for all that he turned down the role. LUIS SUAREZ has insisted he and Lionel Messi had no problem with Antoine Griezmann at Barcelona. Griezmann has gone on record previously as saying he does not talk to Messi much at the club, while the Argentine admitted he had been screwed by the Frenchman when he initially rejected Barcelona in 2018. AFP OR LICENSORS 1 Suarez has denied any friction between himself and Griezmann But Suarez, who moved to Atletico Madrid last summer, says neither him or Messi had a problem with Griezmann. Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, he said: “Totally false that Leo and I had a bad relationship with Griezmann. “I am a much better person outside than on the pitch, much better; on the court I am very competitive.” Suarez was ousted from the Barcelona set-up last year as the Catalan club had a clear-out following a trophyless season which included an 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. And he has now confirmed that Barca told him not to go to training before he had even agreed a deal with Atletico. He added:...
Dear Moneyist, I am writing because I have been reading so many different questions, answers and as much general information I can find, but I just want one simple answer — and quickly! My husband and I and our child received the first stimulus check from his 2018 tax return. My husband works any kind of side work he can find. He has had past criminal felony charges and is now listed as a felon, which makes it difficult for him to find full-time work. But when COVID-19 hit, his work died so he could not file a 2019 return. We were not aware of the non-filer registration, file $0 income return, or whatever you call it, so now we are wondering if we’ll be getting a check in our mailbox or not. We are very frustrated and feel excluded. The Moneyist:My wife has a degenerative neurological disease. (CBS) – It was supposed to be business as usual for Head Coach Matt McCall and the UMass men’s basketball team, who arrived at their hotel in Washington, D.C. around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday. They had a game scheduled against George Washington the next night at 6 p.m. However, right away, this trip was different. “I don’t think anyone expected what was going to transpire. It felt like it was safe to go and play the game,” McCall said. “Upon arriving at the hotel, right then and there, you knew that this just didn’t feel right.” McCall says they were met by a rowdy crowd outside of their hotel, located about two miles from the Capitol building. “Our bus pulls up and we get off the bus and they are starting to chant and yell and scream. So then as a coach, you just click into safety mode for our players. Wanted them to just grab their stuff and get in the hotel as fast as they could,” said McCall. It would be the start of a whirlwind 24 hours....
