Not all catches in the NFL are created equal. That is objectively true for touchdown passes, which get you six points on the board. But even beyond a scoring pass, various circumstances like proximity to the sideline, other defenders, the amount of air time, and more are used by NFL’s Next Gen Stats in order to calculate completion probability. That number helps us appreciate tough passes even more and quantify the difficulty thanks to all the measurements AWS tracks for Next Gen Stats. Last week we took a look at the 10 toughest, and we do it again this week. The four toughest completions this week made it into the top-10 for the season. We have two more games on Monday night this week to see how the list shakes up further.Tom Brady to Breshad Perriman for a 28-yard touchdown (27.5%)Not bad, Tom, not bad at all. The number of homes under construction in the U.S. rose in February to the highest level since 1974, likely a reflection of supply constraints acting as a drag on building even as demand for homes remains sky-high. For the ninth consecutive month, the number of units under construction has exceeded completions, something that has rarely happened before and never for a sustained period. The total number of housing units under construction at the end of February rose to a seasonally adjusted, annual rate of 1.583 million. That is the highest since August of 1974. That is 1.9 percent higher than in January and 22.8 percent higher than a year prior. The National Association of Home Builders’ index gauging home builder confidence declined in March, falling to its worst level since last September. Builders cited increased costs, supply chain issues, a short supply of labor, and expectations of higher interest rates for the decline. Housing starts, which are measured when work on a new home is begun, were up sharply in February.  These climbed to a seasonally adjusted, annual rate...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is set up to break Drew Brees’ NFL record for completions in a season thanks to the 17th game. Tom Brady already owns plenty of NFL records, though the 44-year-old may keep playing in the pros until he has each and every one of them. In the final week of the regular season, Brady looks all but guaranteed to grab another one. The Buccaneers QB enters Week 18 with 456 pass completions. He’s just 16 completions away from breaking Drew Brees’ single-season record of 471. Tom Brady can break another Drew Brees recordBrees set the record in 2016, breaking his own previous record of 468 completions during the 2011 season. The Saints legend also owns the third-best single-season completion mark with 456 in 2014. Brady has already tied for third place and it would be pretty shocking if he didn’t run away with the record with the NFL introducing the 17th game to the regular season. This season, Brady is averaging 28.5 completions per game. His season-low for completions is 18. He just has...
By Michael Hurley, CBS Boston BOSTON (CBS) — Tom Brady’s assault on the record books continue. This time, Brady secured the NFL’s all-time record for most career pass completions, passing Drew Brees for the top spot. Brady entered the game 17 completions shy of Brees’ record of 7,142. Brady completed his 16th pass of the game shortly before the two-minute warning in the first half, and the threw the record-tying completion three plays later. Brady then set the record by lobbing a prayer toward the pylon, a ball that Mike Evans managed to catch before falling out of bounds. 7,143 career completions. So naturally, the completions record didn’t bring about a grand ceremony of any kind. Instead, Brady led the offense to the line of scrimmage and continued the drive, which ended with a QB sneak for a touchdown by Brady...
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — After establishing their passing game in a failed comeback against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Chicago Bears and quarterback Justin Fields anticipate setting a trend Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Following the coaching staff’s work over the bye week at self-scouting, Bears coach Matt Nagy called improvement obvious. They have even escaped last place in the NFL in total offense, a position they held for seven straight weeks. The Bears see their offense operating more efficiently, and not only because of Fields’ play but because numerous offensive changes throughout the early season have slowed down to a trickle. “You had a couple games of Andy Dalton and then you have Justin coming in,” Nagy said. “We had the tough game against Cleveland where numbers-wise was a big-time outlier, whether it’s sacks or not getting enough yards or points, etc., you can go across the board. So you look at that. “And then you also look too at the play calling. You have a different play caller, you have a different quarterback. So we have to balance...

Matthew Stafford is cooking in his Rams debut, completing a string of five passes for 69 yards in the third quarter to help L.A. extend its lead to 27-14. After a third-and-5 completion to Tyler Higbee that moved the chains, Stafford dropped one in the tight end’s bread basket along the right sideline for a 37-yard gain. A few plays later, it looked like Stafford had capped the drive with a touchdown to receiver Cooper Kupp. But Kupp was ruled down just before the goal line. It was no matter, though, as running back Darrell Henderson took the next play up the middle for a 1-yard touchdown. A spokesperson for RAS Completions, a British design firm specializing in aircraft interiors, tells Fox News that the company is seeing a “great deal of interest” in its new Personal Protection Windows, which are aimed at reducing the spread of coronavirus on airplanes. The firm said its Personal Protection Windows, or PPW, are designed to prevent “direct lateral droplet transmission” between passengers in economy and premium-economy cabins, without sacrificing the middle seat, which is what many major airlines are resorting to (or at least intending to) amid the pandemic. The company's design, called a "Personal Protection Window," is currently in the process of being reviewed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
