THE moment moment Meirivone Rocha Moraes laid eyes on Marcelo, she knew he was The One. But this isn't a traditional love story where couples catch others' eyes in a crowded bar or are introduced through mutual friends. 4Meirivone with Marcelo on their wedding day last yearCredit: Jam Press 4The mum had a 'home birth' and says her baby arrived in just 35 minutesCredit: Jam Press Rather, Marcelo is the rag doll Meirivone's mum made after the 37-year-old moaned about being about single last year. Speaking to NeedtoKnow, Meirivone, from Brazil, explained: "When my mum made Marcelo and first introduced me to him, I fell in love with him. "It was because I didn’t have a forró dancer. I would go to these dances but wouldn’t always find a partner. "Then he entered into my life, and it all made sense." DEAR ABBY: “Dana” has been my best friend since 1995. We did so many things together, until she had gastric bypass surgery three years ago. Mind you, Dana was never fat. She may have been overweight, but she was never morbidly obese. She never participated in any of the fun sports I did, such as mud/obstacle course runs or fun 5Ks. Her lack of participation wasn’t due to her weight; she just said it “wasn’t for her.” After Dana lost some weight from her surgery, her mindset changed. She started making repeated snide remarks to me about my weight. I have some joint issues that are genetic. She said, “Maybe your weight doesn’t help.” Eventually, we stopped doing much together. A man approaches with what appears to be a large lighter and sets the bouquet on fire. The flame spreads to cover the couple, who run past a crowd of guests before kneeling down on the ground to allow a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. The clip was shared on TikTok by wedding DJ Russ Powell, who said: “Ambyr and Gabe met on set. Read More Wedding StoriesAISLE SAY! Dear Amy: I recently found out from my college-aged kids that when they were much younger (perhaps 8 or 9), they were spending the weekend with my sister-in-law and for some reason she told them their parents (us) were getting a divorce and if they wanted to talk to someone about it, they could call her. Amy Dickinson  We weren’t getting a divorce and I have no idea where she got this idea, but it explains why my kids were hysterical any time my husband and I had a disagreement during their childhoods. We assumed it was because most of their friends had divorced parents, but now we know differently. I’m angry that she caused my kids such pain and anxiety. I know she wasn’t doing it maliciously, but  she was sticking her nose into someone else’s business. And it wasn’t even accurate. Do I bring this up to her or continue to keep her at a distance (as I have since I found this all out)? Angry Mama Related Articles Ask Amy: My boyfriend says it’s lying if...
The mother of the teenage girl who was raped by a boy in a skirt in a Virginia school bathroom says she and her husband were pressured to remain silent about the incident, and had no idea their daughter's attacker had been allowed back in school until last month.  'We were silenced for many months,' Jessica Smith told DailyMail.com, in her first interview since her daughter was sexually assaulted by a 15-year-old classmate at Stone Bridge High School in Loudoun County in May.  'We were told not to say a word that could jeopardize our daughter's case.' The Virginia school district was thrust into the national spotlight earlier this year over accusations that it had covered up the attack.    The story exploded when her husband Scott Smith was dragged out of a school board meeting with a bloodied mouth after cops intervened when the furious dad confronted an audience member on June 22.  After the teen was arrested in July, school officials quietly transferred him to another high school in the district, even keeping the victim's parents in the dark. ...

DEAR ABBY: A large neighborhood group, social and friendly, has been invaded by someone with wandering hands. Jeanne Phillips  I was the recipient of three incidents. I know of other women who have experienced the same, yet they won’t share it with their husbands. My husband saw it happen and was on it. He not only protected me but made sure the offender knew we would not tolerate it. The result? We are now the outcasts of gatherings! Everyone is trying to convince us to “make up” and accept the error of the “drunk.” We forgive, yet we have chosen not to be in that group. Our neighbors keep saying we should “forgive and forget” and “get over it” so we can rejoin them. DEAR ABBY: I send out lots of greeting cards every year for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. I keep a large number of them on hand so I am prepared. Jeanne Phillips  I received a Christmas card this year from an elderly family member that said: “Thank you for the insulting anniversary card.” “Insulting” was underlined twice. I was dismayed. Their anniversary was last August. I have no idea which card I sent since I keep so many on hand. I am guessing it may have been a humorous card that they didn’t find funny, but I’m not sure. Both of them are very alert and oriented. When best-selling children's author Dame Jacqueline Wilson hit her late 50s, she underwent nothing less than a total midlife reinvention. Her career boomed, her marriage ended, she suffered a life-threatening illness — and she found an all-consuming new love in an utterly unexpected place. 'You just never know what's going to happen next,' she says delightedly. 'I had not exactly given up on falling in love.  But I had always been a little cynical about this idea that it completely takes a hold of you. And then there I was, in my late 50s, and it happened to me.' Best-selling children's author Dame Jacqueline Wilson (pictured in July 2014) was 58 years old when her husband of 38 years Millar Wilson left her for another woman Now, aged 75, with some 40 million book sales under her belt and a new novel about to hit the shelves, the creator of Tracy Beaker tells me women shouldn't fear the radical changes of life post-menopause. On the contrary, the second act can be even better than the first. 'You can get...
WALKING down the aisle as the theme song to Love Actually played, Anna-Louise Bates felt a lump in her throat. In front of a socially distanced crowd of family and friends in St Martin’s Church, Cardiff, she was about to get married again — five years after her life was torn apart by tragedy. 10Anna-Louise Bates tied the knot with Zach Stubbings five years after her son and husband were killed in front of herCredit: Wales News Service It was a second chance at happiness she never envisaged after her husband Stuart, 43, and seven-year-old son Fraser were killed when a car ploughed into them as the family walked home from a party together. Anna-Louise was left a widowed mum to daughter Elizabeth, now eight. Former lawyer Anna-Louise, 44, says: “Losing Stuart and Fraser in such a horrific way almost destroyed me. I honestly wondered if I would ever be happy again. “I feel so lucky to have found someone again who truly loves and cares about me and has made me smile again.” Anna-Louise and Stuart had been together...
