Donald Trump complained that FBI agents didn't remove their shoes when conducting a search of his Mar-a-Lago estate and said his Florida residence will 'never be the same'. The former president revealed shortly after the raid on August 8 that agents 'rummaged' through his wife Melania's closet and said earlier this month that they also did 'a deep and ugly search' of his 16-year-old son Barron's bedroom. Coming back to his Florida home Sunday evening, Trump said the changes were noticeable from nearly two months prior when it was searched by approximately 30 FBI agents. 'Arrived in Florida last night and had a long and detailed chance to check out the scene of yet another government 'crime,' the FBI's Raid and Break-In of my home, Mar-a-Lago,' Trump posted to his social media site Truth Social. 'I guess they don't think there is a Fourth Amendment anymore, and to them, there isn't.' 'In any event, after what they have done, the place will never be the same,' he lamented. 'It was 'ransacked,' and in far different condition than the way I...

A tense interview between CNN’s Jake Tapper and White House advisor Brian Deese was derailed Wednesday when the latter’s camera crashed to the ground. On The Lead, the host welcomed Deese remotely from the White House to discuss the nationwide baby formula shortage. President Joe Biden has admitted he was blindsided by the shortage and only learned of a major plant closure by the FDA in April. It was shut down in December. Tapper, while addressing Deese, wanted to know why Biden was not in the loop. “Brian, why didn’t anyone tell the president?” Tapper asked after he invoked the shortage. Deese argued Biden has been informed about work to remedy the shortage through importing formula and by authorizing the Defense Production Act. Tapper retorted: I guess I still just don’t fully understand why you didn’t tell the president until April if the problem was reported to the FDA last fall, the FDA didn’t check it out until I think December, and then they shut down the factory in February. The president, the only one who can invoke the Defense Production Act...
Tristan Fewings, Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Kim Cattrall has finally addressed the Sex and the City reboot … dissing former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker in the process. Cattrall sat down with Variety’s Ramin Setoodeh for an interview published Wednesday, in which she revealed that she would not reprise her role as fan-favorite character Samantha Jones in HBO’s And Just Like That.  “I was never asked to be part of the reboot,” Cattrall said. “I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.” Cattrall went on to explain that she rejected the idea of coming back for a third Sex and the City movie as she felt that her character Samantha was not progressing. “I would have preferred for all of us to have some kind of event to warrant a third film. That didn’t happen. But also, I was ready,” she said. “And this is exactly what I wished for: to be in different places playing different characters because I’m a character actress. And as difficult as it was, and as scary as it is...

On August 13, 2018, Chris strangled his wife Shanann - who was 15 weeks pregnant with their son - inside the couple's Frederick, Colorado, home. First, let me just mention that I’ve become a big fan of historian Heather Cox Richardson. Although she teaches American history at Boston College, I know her from her books and now mostly get her masterful ability to put current events into historical context via her weekly podcast (“Now & Then”) with fellow historian Joanne Freeman. But I’ve read some of her books and online columns as well. For some stupid reason, I don’t mention her nearly enough in Black Ink. But the other day I stumbled on a recent video of Richardson interviewing Joe Biden just after he had nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. I recommend the wide-ranging 30-minute interview not just because I’m a Richardson fanboy but because the interview brought me back to the times when I have been most impressed with Biden. To be clear, Biden didn’t make any news in the interview, nor did Richardson ask him the kind of questions he is usually asked. He seemed relaxed, but not rambling. Richardson asked Biden questions journalists wouldn’t ask, in the sense...

Not the first time Rittenhouse has challenged Biden In a recent interview with Fox News' Tucker Carlson, the 18-year-old said that the president ought to fully educate himself before offering opinions on something he apparently doesn't understand. “Mr. President, if I could say one thing to you, I would urge you to go back and watch the trial and understand the facts before you make a statement,” he said during a post-trial interview. “It’s actual malice, defaming my character, for him to say something like that.” He added, "It is actually quite hysterical how nobody can go back and look at the facts of the case." Following the verdict of not guilty, Biden told reporters that he didn't watch the trial. "I just heard [about the verdict] a moment ago, I didn't watch the trial," he admitted. "I stand by what the jury has concluded, the jury system works and we have to abide by it."

(CNN)Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers typically makes headlines for his outstanding plays on the field. Earlier this year, he was named the NFL's MVP of the year for the third time in recognition of his remarkable performance in the 2020 season, and before Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Rodgers' Packers were tied for the best record in the league. To achieve that success, Rodgers has not only shown an amazing level of talent but also true leadership. Dean ObeidallahIn jaw-dropping contrast, Rodgers' response following the news last week that he was unvaccinated and contracted Covid-19 has been the opposite of a strong leader. While appearing on SiriusXM's "The Pat McAfee Show" on Friday, he lashed out at critics as a "woke mob," spewed medically unsound concerns on Covid-19 vaccines and failed to apologize for seemingly misleading people in August that he had been vaccinated. "At the time, my plan was to say I'd been immunized; it wasn't some sort of ruse," Rodgers said."I believe strongly in bodily autonomy and the ability to make choices for...

The Bachelor’s Chris Harrison has spoken for the first time since stepping away from the franchise last month. Sitting down with Michael Strahan for an interview on Good Morning America, Harrison addressed the recent racism controversy involving himself and Season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell. To summarize, Kirkconnell, who has become a clear frontrunner for this season’s star and first Black Bachelor Matt James, faced intense scrutiny when a viral TikTok accused her of sharing posts pushing QAnon conspiracy theories and liking others containing the Confederate flag. Additional unearthed pictures, which appeared on Reddit, also show the Bachelor contestant at an “Old South” plantation-themed college party in 2018. Harrison later sat down for an interview with Rachel Lindsay, the first and only Black woman to be cast as The Bachelorette lead, to address the controversy. “Well, Rachel, is it a good look in 2018, or is it not a good look in 2021? Because there’s a big difference,” Harrison said, adding, “The woke police is out there, and this poor girl Rachael has just been thrown to the lions.” Harrison’s comments instantly sparked a wave of backlash, many noting...
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Kensington Palace, 2017 There's an old saying that the apple never falls far from the tree. Not true in my case. My father was a working-class Tory and I was a typical young Leftie. We argued about everything. Except the Royal Family. One of my earliest memories of my childhood in Splott, a working-class area of Cardiff, was when the Queen paid a visit. The entire street — indeed the entire neighbourhood — turned out to catch a glimpse of her motorcade on its way to the city centre. But he stayed at home, ostentatiously slamming the front door shut and ordering us kids to stay at home, too. Another memory was when he was thrown out of the Conservative club on a busy Friday night. He had shown 'disrespect' to the monarchy by refusing to sit in the only spare seat because it happened to be beneath a portrait of Her Majesty. I cheered him on. My own 'disrespect' survived my childhood and my early years as a cub reporter. Why, I demanded...
