Amazon founder Jeff Bezos once again went after President Joe Biden for the White House's policies regarding inflation and taking credit for deficit reduction in a tweet on Sunday.  Bezos, retweeting an account that goes by the name @ne0liberal, argued that the inflation crisis could have been made worse if not for West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin refusing to vote for further COVID stimulus. 'The administration tried hard to inject even more stimulus into an already over-heated, inflationary economy and only Manchin saved them from themselves,' Bezos wrote. 'Inflation is a regressive tax that most hurts the least affluent. Misdirection doesn’t help the country.' Bezos is referring to Manchin's efforts to shut down Biden's Build Back Better agenda, as well as further COVID stimulus payments at the beginning of Biden's administration.   The White House responded to Bezos' criticisms over the last two days with a statement on Sunday.  'It doesn't require a huge leap to figure out why one of the wealthiest individuals on earth opposes an economic agenda for the middle class that cuts some of the biggest costs...
IT WAS a day Middlesbrough wanted revenge, but instead it was 600 lucky Chelsea fans left toasting Wembley - even if they may not be there themselves! The build-up to this one had been volatile. 2600 lucky Chelsea supporters were left celebratingCredit: Rex 2Boro's FA Cup dreams were ended by a side who always seem to leave their fans feeling blueCredit: PA The Blues, restricted to just the small number that had already purchased tickets before the sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich, failed in an attempt to get it behind-closed-doors. That meant that the small army of backers from West London may be the final few to watch their side away from home this term. And just like their heroes on the pitch, they overcame an early sea of red and white noise to ensure they went out with a bang. But it’s not just the events of the last few days that makes the Blues so disliked around Teesside. CLUTCHING a picture of her beloved son Brett, Angela Stevens recalls how he spent his last moments - hiding away with a stranger in an Airbnb, deciding to end their lives together. The vulnerable 28-year-old, who had been diagnosed with autism, had fallen under the spell of an evil ‘pro-suicide’ forum, which horrifically enabled him to ‘buddy up’ with a young girl who travelled to the UK to kill herself with him. 5Angela Stevens pictured with her late son Brett, who died after visiting a suicide forumCredit: STEVE ALLEN 5Joe Nihill, who also took his own life, pictured here with mum Catherine AdenekanCredit: Collect A staggering 23 UK suicides in the last two years have been linked to this website, which we are choosing not to name. A Sun investigation has discovered twisted members of the forum - which boasts 20,000 members - are trolling grieving families and flogging dark ‘memorabilia’ like mugs and T-shirts. One mum who dared to challenge its founder was trolled and hideously told: "You didn't look after your son properly”. “I feel so...
Victor Davis Hanson, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and author of "The Dying Citizen," appeared Thursday night on "The Ingraham Angle," where he spoke about what the Democrats have revealed in 2021 about themselves and their vision for America’s future. SEN. RICK SCOTT: SUBURBAN VOTERS ARE REJECTING DEMOCRATS’ RADICAL AGENDA  VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: They’re the greatest revolutionaries we’ve seen in a generation.  Whether it’s packing the court or ending the filibuster or bringing in two more states or ending the electoral college or the national voting law, or Hillary Clinton’s collusion – hiring a foreign national to get dirt on a presidential opponent, candidate opponent – or what we saw with the FISA abuses. So they are revolutionaries and they’re projecting their own pathologies on other people because they have no alternate agenda. They don’t ever say to themselves, ‘Here’s a contract for America. It’s going to work.’ And anybody in the Democratic Party who thinks that is not going to last very long or they’re going to retire. So this is a revolutionary Jacobin movement. I think everybody...
Fox News reported on widespread conservative outrage over a comment that President Joe Biden made about the late baseball legend Satchel Paige, but refused to make the false claim that sparked the outrage. Conservatives spent the better part of Thursday trying to spread the false claim that Biden referred to Paige as “The great negro at the time,” when in fact, Biden was explicitly referring to Negro League baseball. What actually happened is that the president was wishing Amb. Donald Blinken a happy birthday during his Veterans Day speech, and injected one of his favorite stories: a roundabout way of saying that you’re only as old as you feel. Here’s the passage in question: I’ve adopted the attitude of the great Negro — at the time, pitcher in the Negro Leagues — went on to become a great pitcher in the pros — in the Major League Baseball after Jackie Robinson. His name was Satchel Paige. While blue-check conservatives continued to falsely insist that Biden was referring to Paige — despite their own video clips belying that notion — Fox News walked a...
The mother at the center of the Houston House of Horrors case tried to defend her actions by claiming that she would check on her three surviving sons living alone with the decomposing corpse of their brother every two weeks - and she also denied knowing that her autistic eight-year-old boy was dead after a beating. Gloria Williams, 35, spoke exclusively with KHOU11 on Thursday while being held in the Harris county Jail on $900,000 bond in connection with the November 2020 death of her son Kendrick Lee and the neglect of his siblings.  During the jailhouse interview, Williams was quoted as saying: 'I'm sorry.'  The mother-of-six has been charged with injury to a child by omission and tampering with evidence - a human corpse. Williams' boyfriend, Brian Coulter, 31, is charged with felony murder for allegedly punching and kicking the autistic eight-year-old to death, and then leave his body to rot in a Houston apartment alongside his brothers, ages 15, 10 and 7.  When asked whether she knew Kendrick was dead, Williams said 'no,' even though according to a probable...
They also stole credit cards from vehicles to quickly purchase "gift cards, tools, and other property" before the cards were canceled by the owner, authorities said. The group also allegedly used Facebook and other social media platforms to coordinate criminal activity, elude capture by police, arrange for the sale of allegedly stolen goods, and even brag about their criminal prowess. Sometimes members would even livestream their crimes on Facebook where other members would then offer real-time encouragement. But it was their cocky use of Facebook that, in part, led to their downfall. According to KCNC-TV, investigators used the Facebook conversations as well as DNA evidence to identify and track the suspects. Those arrested are listed as follows: Timothy James Boles, 27; Daniel Holman, 42; Richardlee Martin Oritz, 28; Lanea Dawn Rodriquez, 23; Guillermo Jesus Hernandez, 21; Danea Lynn Holman, 39; Daysha Ann Holman, 22; Elisha Monique Marquez, 30; Rachel Christine Montour, 22; Sierra Sandoval, 22; and Ariel Sosa, 21.

Mayoral candidates prep for ‘unprecedented’ manual recount Yang predicts who will come out on top as initial primary results come in Eric Adams calls Andrew Yang a ‘liar,’ ‘fraud’ as mayoral race heads to finish Did you know that black people are not going to be allowed to vote in America anymore? At least in states controlled by Republicans? Sounds a bit unlikely, but that’s a conclusion you might have come to if you took seriously what President Joe Biden said in Philadelphia Tuesday. Biden decried Republicans’ proposed changes to election laws as “the 21st-century Jim Crow assault” that tries “to suppress and subvert the right to vote in fair and free elections, an assault on democracy.” This is, to be polite, unhinged nonsense. Biden is old enough to remember what real Jim Crow voter suppression was like. It meant zero black people voting in places like Mississippi. It meant threats and violence against black people who tried...

Actor John Cusack slammed the United States on social media this week and said that the country is “f****** awful.” In a lengthy Twitter thread, Cusack took issue with a tribute to the U.S. armed forces at a baseball game and complained that the tribute was made in partnership with the aerospace company Boeing. “I was at a ballpark last night,” the High Fidelity actor tweeted. “And they did their support the troops ad — that conflate Boeing with troops serving — while supporting the gop — that means funding the insurrection — anti democratic forces — the opposite of what they claim to support — ‘US freedom-‘.” Cusack continued: “They preach freedom at baseball games — but back insurrectionist coups and the overturning of elections — abc the party that would take away black and brown Americans right to vote. INVASIVE "crazy worms" that move and jump like snakes are swarming the United States, according to research. Scientists found that the tube-like creatures are now present in at least 15 US states after making their way to North America in 2013. 4The 'crazy' worms has now been recorded in 15 US statesCredit: UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN–MADISON The finding spells bad news for the nation's forests, as the invaders have an insatiable appetite for soil nutrients that native plants need to grow. The worms of the genus Amynthas - also known as snake worms and Alabama jumpers - are extremely invasive. The animals are native to east Asia and resemble the common earthworm, but are smaller and brown, growing up to five inches long. They've earned the nickname "crazy worm" due to their tendency to violently thrash when picked up, sometimes jumping from the hands. 4Crazy worms are brown/grey with a white band called clitellum encircling their bodyCredit: Purdue University The wrigglers are even know to shed their own tails in a desperate bid to evade the grasp of their captors predators. Spitting cobra species first evolved the ability to spray venom from their fangs in order to defend themselves — rather than to attack prey — a study has found. Researchers from Wales found that instantly painful venoms these snakes spit was evolved from different components not once, but on three separate occasions. The venom — which can cause blistering and, if introduced to the eye, blindness — may even have developed in response to the threat of early humans, the team said.  This long-distance targeting of sensory tissues plays no role in prey capture, they added, suggesting it must have been developed as a defence mechanism. The finding contradicts previous studies which suggested that the development of venom in snakes is principally driven by dietary variations.   Scroll down for videos Spitting cobra species first evolved the ability to spray venom from their fangs (as pictured) in order to defend themselves — rather than to attack prey — a study has found In their study, the researchers analysed spitting cobras from three different approaches — by function, genetics and protein...
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner do not let Secret Service agents guarding their Washington D.C. residence use any of their seven toilets, a new report revealed Thursday, forcing the agency to rent out a $3,000 per-month basement studio nearby solely for bathroom use. Starting in September 2017 through the present day, the United State Secret Service has spent more than $100,000 in taxpayer dollars on the rental property from a neighbor of the Kushner's in Washington's elite Kalorama neighborhood. Neighbors and law enforcement officials told The Washington Post that the Secret Service spent months searching for a reliable place to use the bathroom while agents were assigned to Kushner and Trump's detail. Before deciding to rent out a nearby apartment, agents used a porta-potty and sometimes would visit the homes of neighbors, like former President Barack Obama, or the not-so-nearby residence of Vice President Mike Pence, to use the bathroom. They sometimes would use local businesses to relieve themselves, as well.  'It's the first time I ever heard of a Secret Service detail having to go to these extremes to...
Buh-bye. A handful of elected Republicans—most notably Adam Kinzinger—have taken a stand in favor of giving the squatter in the White House the 25th Amendment treatment and ousting him from power. This is happening against the backdrop of some Cabinet members resigning to get themselves out of having to vote on the amendment so they can launch the process of scraping the Trump taint off their résumés and reputations. Given that Vice President Mike Pence is a key character in the process and has said he doesn’t favor employing the 25th, that preemptive approach to dumping this dangerous man is off the table anyway. The only remaining option—other than letting Trump serve out his term doing who knows what new damage to the nation in the dozen days he has left to muck things up—is impeachment No. 2. Democrats are meeting today to discuss how to move forward. So far, 159 of them in the House (71% of the Democratic caucus) and 22 in the Senate (not quite half the caucus there) have made their support for impeachment clear. They are serious with good reason. As House Speaker...
(CNN)While the term "social distancing" is a new concept for most of us, researchers are finding that it's actually standard practice for some animals when they are sick. A study published in Behavioral Ecology this week found that wild vampire bats naturally distance themselves from other bats in such situations.Previous findings have already shown that animals tend to stay away from others when they are sick, but researchers in the study wanted to conduct a field experiment to confirm it in the wild. "In certain social insects, sick ones might self-isolate voluntarily or be excluded by their colony mates," researchers said. "This sickness-induced social distancing does not require cooperation from others and is probably common across species."The experimentRead MoreA team of researchers captured 31 wild adult female vampire bats from inside a hollow tree in Belize and injected half of them with an immune-challenging substance to simulate sickness, while the other half received a placebo.Researchers then glued sensors to the "sick" bats to track their movements before being released back into the tree for observation. The resultsThroughout the six-hour observation period,...
A New Jersey mayor is under fire after she said that Trump supporters — and especially those who want to enact the "Christian version of Sharia law" — can "go f***" themselves. Despite facing criticism — as well as calls for her censure and resignation — Flemington Mayor Betsy Driver (D) says she has no plans to resign. What are the details? In a recent social media post, Driver crassly explained that she has no love for Trump supporters. The state's Republican Party shared a screenshot of Driver's offending remarks, which quickly went viral. According to screenshots, Driver wrote, "This is day one of the new SCOTUS term — the religious zealots want to enact the Christian version of Sharia law. If you voted for the orange monster with COVID, go f*** yourself. If you plan on voting for him again, unfriend me and go f*** yourself again." The state's Republican Party also called on Driver to issue an apology for her controversial remarks. Instead, she said that she...
