Getty The Ravens got a dominant performance from a surprising source vs. the Jets. The Baltimore Ravens got a pleasant surprise during their Week 1 win over the New York Jets. It came in the form of a former third-round pick who appears to finally be “clicking” at the start of his third season in the NFL. This so-far disappointing defensive tackle earned the top grade for the Ravens during Sunday’s 24-9 win. It was a performance that earned high praise from a six-time Pro-Bowler, who credited the unheralded third-year pro with playing “at an All-Pro level.” He did so by establishing himself as a force against both the run and the pass. In the process, this surprising turn provided a massive boost for a defensive front reshuffled and remade this offseason.3rd-Year DT Dominated vs. the JetsJustin Madubuike has kept the Ravens waiting for a breakout performance. Drafted 71st overall in 2020, Madubuike started just 14 games through his first two years. If game one of his third season is anything to go by, Madubuike is ready to...

OTTAWA, ONTARIO — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is ready to "respond with whatever it takes" to end the Freedom Convoy following a series of late-night meetings with opposition leaders, key Cabinet ministers, and senior officials. The Canadian leader has been under intense pressure from not only politicians in his own country but also from the White House to end the demonstrations against vaccine mandates that have clogged the main arteries into major Canadian cities and blocked multiple bridges, crippling cross-border business. "The prime minister and ministers will continue to work closely with all orders of government and local authorities to respond with whatever it takes to help provinces and municipalities end the blockades and bring the situation under control," his office said in a statement following Thursday's meetings. U.S. officials have urged their Canadian counterparts to use federal powers to put an end to the protest. A White House official said on Thursday that President Joe Biden is "being regularly briefed" on the protests. (CBS Chicago) — The Green Bay Packers have once again jumped out to an early lead in the NFC North race. Aaron Rodgers is in his usual elite form leading a balanced Packers attack. Most recently they disposed of the Bears, who are still finding their way with Justin Fields. Elsewhere in the division, Kirk Cousins is making plays and generally giving the Minnesota Vikings a chance to win. Jared Goff, like the rest of the Detroit Lions, are stuck in football purgatory. Rolling into Week 7, the Packers face another favorable matchup, when the Washington Football Team comes to town. The Lions look for that elusive first win against the Rams in Los Angeles. And the Bears travel to Tampa Bay to face the defending Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers. The Vikings have a bye. The Minnesota Vikings have already had an injury scare with Justin Jefferson, so now is the time to pick up some insurance with Steelers WR James Washington. When Justin Jefferson went down with a shoulder injury at Vikings training camp on Friday, it highlighted just how tenuous the situation at wide receiver could be. Dez Bryant tweeted out the possibility of a Thielen-Jefferson-Washington trio even before the trade request came out and before Jefferson had his injury scare. “Dope receiver core,” he wrote. He’s right about that one. Next: 4 QB options to cover Kirk Cousins

Justin Fields would be no slouch if he “falls” to becoming the fifth quarterback off the board in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Ohio State product, once thought to be the clear-cut No. 2 QB prospect behind Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, has seen the meteoric rises of BYU’s Zach Wilson, Alabama’s Mac Jones and North Dakota State’s Trey Lance quickly change the script. It’s not that Fields has suddenly become an inferior passer and athlete, it’s just those other QBs, between comfortable high floors and exciting high ceilings, have become more attractive to particular teams picking at the top of the draft — the Jaguars, Jets and 49ers.  MORE NFL DRAFT: Complete 7-round mock | Top 100 big board The Falcons at No. 4 have Matt Ryan and don’t have an immediate need for a QB. The Bengals at No. 5 (Joe Burrow) and the Dolphins at No. 6 (Tua Tagovailoa) took first-round QBs in 2020. The Lions at No. 7 (Jared Goff) and Panthers at No. 8 (Sam Darnold) can’t be ruled out to take a QB, but...
Batten down the hatches, Chris Simms. The NFL analyst hasn’t been afraid to live out on an island with his quarterback takes leading up to the draft, and none have been more puzzling and polarizing than his dislike of Ohio State’s Justin Fields. In fact, Simms’ distrust of Fields as a prospect has him landing all the way at the bottom of Round 1, being selected by the Buccaneers as the presumed heir apparent for Tom Brady in Simms’ 2021 mock draft. Simms’ reasoning: Other teams opted for other quarterbacks, leading to Fields’ slide, with landing spots running out as the draft wears on. Notably, Simms has Trey Lance going at No. 8 to Washington, which would have to trade up to secure the North Dakota passer.  MORE: NFL mock drafts — How does Simms match up to other draft experts? While many analysts believe Fields is slated for a top-10 selection, there are some doubts as to Fields’ landing spots within the top 10 if San Francisco does opt for Mac Jones or Trey Lance at No. 3 overall.  Clemson’s Trevor...

The 10th annual “NFL Honors” show was different. Like everything else in this season that will be remembered for its COVID-19 challenges, the NFL still had a televised awards show but with a lot less fanfare than usual. Here are the NFL’s major awards winners for the season:Offensive rookie of the year: Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin HerbertJustin Herbert went sixth overall, behind fellow quarterbacks Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa. He was not the Los Angeles Chargers’ starter to begin the season, sitting behind Tyrod Taylor. Leon Bennett/Getty Images, Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images, Kevin Winter/Getty Images, Lars Niki/Getty Images Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin recently bought a mansion in Beverly Park, a guard-gated community of Los Angeles known for its famous residents. According to the National Enquirer, several of those famous residents — namely Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy and Sylvester Stallone — aren’t happy about the young couple moving into the neighborhood. Mediaite looked into the situation and we can set the record straight. An unknown source tells the magazine, “This is an old-school crowd that prides itself on privacy. Justin’s clashes with previous neighbors and party-hearty reputation aren’t exactly a selling point. Nobody wants to deal with his adolescent drama!” It’s true that Bieber was sued by two former neighbors in 2015 for egging their house two years prior. In 2014, many of the pop star’s Beverly Hills neighbors called the police on several occasions to complain about loud parties being thrown at his house. These incidents are now six and seven years old. There haven’t been additional altercations with neighbors in the time since....
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reported that he has not yet decided whether to participate in President López Obrador’s meeting with Trump in Washington. It is still not certain that the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, attend the meeting at Washington DC next week, on the occasion of the entry into force of the new trade agreement between Mexico, United States and Canada (T-MEC). Trudeau assured this Friday that still does not decide to attend this meeting, but did not close the possibility to it. The meeting was confirmed in Mexico by the chancellor Marcelo Ebrard, who assured that they received the invitation of the U.S. government for the Official Work Visit he July 8 and 9. Despite the fact that the agenda of this trip was not disclosed, the President López Obrador assured that visiting his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to celebrate the entry into force of the new trade agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC) does not make a “vendepatrias”. The Mexican president made these statements due to the controversy that has arisen...
At a protest in Portland, Ore., on Thursday, a bronze statue of George Washington was vandalized, beheaded, draped in an American flag and lit on fire. Meanwhile, in Seattle — located in a state named after our now-headless first president — Marxist revolutionaries have been busy running their new “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest” (CHOP) zone, a dystopian socialist takeover featuring barricades, armed security, police bans and endless streams of socialist propaganda. Strangely, while statues are being vandalized across the United States, protesters in Seattle have chosen to spare a notorious statue glorifying murderer Vladimir Lenin. The statue was originally placed on display in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic by the Communist Party in the 1980s before being moved to Seattle. So it is, quite literally, Soviet propaganda. LIZ PEEK: INTOLERANCE THREATENS US – HERE'S WHO TO BLAME FOR 'CANCEL CULTURE' So, let’s get this straight: According to the far-left mobs in Seattle and Portland, honoring the man most responsible for creating what has become one of the freest nations in the history of the world — George Washington — is bad, but Communist propaganda...
