President Joe Biden reiterated his support for the One China policy during his speech Wednesday before the United Nations - days after saying he would defend Taiwan militarily if China attacked.   'We remain committed to our One China policy, which has helped prevent conflict for four decades. And we continue to oppose unilateral changes in the status quo by either side,' Biden said before the UN General Assembly in New York.  He had riled up Beijing again for comments he made to 60 Minutes for an episode that aired Sunday.   Biden answered 'yes' when asked whether 'U.S. forces, U.S. men and women, would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.'  'Yes, if in fact there was an unprecedented attack,' Biden said, adding that unlike Ukraine, he would commit American troops to the effort.  President Joe Biden reiterated his support for the One China policy during his speech Wednesday before the United Nations - days after saying he would defend Taiwan militarily if China attacked President Joe Biden said during a 60 Minutes interviefw that aired Sunday that...
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said Tuesday that President Joe Biden was answering a 'hypothetical question' when the president told 60 Minutes he would come to the defense of Taiwan if China attacked.   'He was asked a question, a hypothetical question in this interview,' Sullivan said at the White House press briefing. 'He gave a similar answer in Tokyo in May that he gave in the 60 Minutes interview,' Sullivan pointed out.  Sullivan reminded reporters that after Biden had been asked about Taiwan in Tokyo 'someone said specifically to him, "Have you just announced a major policy change?" and he said, "No, I have not, I have answered a hypothetical question. I have not announced a policy change."' 'When the president of the United States wants to announce a policy change he will do so. He has not done so,' Sullivan said.  During a segment on 60 Minutes, which aired Sunday, Biden answered 'yes' when asked whether 'U.S. forces, U.S. men and women, would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.'  'Yes, if in fact there was an unprecedented...
Russia's football federation has demanded the manager of Ukraine's national team is banned after he expressed a willingness to fight Vladimir Putin's invading armies. Oleksandr Petrakov, 65, told the Guardian back in April that 'if they come to Kyiv, I will pick up a weapon and defend my city', adding 'I think I could take two or three enemies out.' Now the Football Union of Russia [FUR] has written to UEFA accusing Petrakov of discriminating against their countrymen and failing to remain politically neutral, calling on him to be sanctioned.  As reported by The Guardian, the FUR deputy secretary general Denis Rogachev has accused Petrakov of breaching codes of conduct by calling for Russia to be banned from international sport. Petrakov did attempt to join Ukraine's territorial defence forces when Russia invaded the country back in February but was advised against it because of his age and lack of military experience. He conducted himself with immense dignity when Ukraine participated in play-off for the Qatar World Cup back in June. They defeated Scotland but saw their hopes of qualification ended...
Congressman Matt Gaetz told a former White House aide that he had asked then-President Donald Trump for a pardon after being investigated for sex trafficking. Gaetz is currently being investigated in a federal sex trafficking probe involving a 17-year-old girl.  The teenager claims Gaetz paid her to travel across state line to have sex with him, and the congressman was investigated after a close friend was conviced of similar charges. He has denied the sex-trafficking allegations against him, and no charges have been filed against him. Johnny McEntee, who served as Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office in the Trump Administration, told investigators into the January 6 attack on the US Capitol that Gaetz was looking to be pardoned by Trump. According to the Washington Post, Gaetz told McEntee that ‘that they are launching an investigation into him or that there’s an investigation into him’. He did not specify who was investigating Gaetz but added that the Congressman told him that he ‘did not do anything wrong but they are trying to make his life hell, and you...

During an interview on the Heart of the Matter podcast hosted by Elizabeth Vargas, Rosbach opened up about his experience on “Below Deck” and how he wasn’t even supposed to be featured as the captain of Honor. Captain Lee explained that he thought he was just delivering the boat in Saint Martin and keeping an eye on it every few days on behalf of the yacht’s owners. “See, I thought I was heading down to Saint Martin for just a gravy train, drop the boat off, go check on it every three or four days, get paid double pay, sit on the beach, drink foo-foo drinks for six weeks, bring [my wife] Mary Anne down, and enjoy life,” he shared. However, he said the captain...
The White House on Tuesday tore into South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham over his new legislation to create a national ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Top Democrats in Congress joined the White House in going after Graham, an indication that the party believes it can benefit from Graham's push, which comes after Democrats have made some polling gains since the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade in its Dobbs decision. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called the new legislation Graham rolled out at the Capitol 'extreme' – then pointed to comments by the senator just weeks ago following the court's decision. 'I'm going to quote Lindsey Graham from August 7, 2022. And he said, I've been consistent. I think states should decide the issue of marriage and state should decide the issue of abortion. That's from his own his own mouth, and now he wants to do a national ban,' said Jean-Pierre at her daily briefing. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre threw back comments that Sen. Lindsey Graham made about letting states decide on...

Rep. Liz Cheney responded to reports that former President Donald Trump told several of his aides he would not leave the White House after his 2020 loss, noting it “affirms the reality of the danger” of his presidency. In the days and weeks after the 2020 election was called in favor of President Joe Biden, Trump repeatedly told his aides that he wouldn’t leave the White House despite his loss, according to a new book by New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman. Although some people may say that reports of Trump's behavior following the election are not a "big deal" because the Supreme Court would have eventually upheld the election results, it is dangerous to overlook his sentiments, Cheney said during an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper. ‘WE’RE NEVER LEAVING’: TRUMP VOWED TO STAY IN OFFICE DESPITE ELECTION LOSS, BOOK REVEALS “You have to ask yourself, 'But who would have enforced the rulings of the court?' And if you have a president who’s refusing to leave the White House or who’s saying he refuses to...
Former President Donald Trump privately told aides he was 'never' going to leave the White House even after his 2020 election defeat, according to a new book. The reported private comments came after Trump refused to concede on election night and after networks called the race for now-President Joe Biden – and as key administration officials held up a transition to the new administration. 'We're never leaving,' Trump told one aide. 'How can you leave when you won an election?' he asked, according to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman's forthcoming book: Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America. 'I'm just not going to leave,' he told another aide, in another of his reportedly repeated statements on the subject. 'I'm just not going to leave,' former President Donald Trump told an aide after the 2020 elections, according to Maggie Haberman's forthcoming book. Trump on election night had claimed election 'fraud' The excerpts from the book, obtained by CNN, do not reveal the precise date Trump reportedly made the comments.  But according to Haberman, a well-sourced...
King Charles III graciously accepted kisses by overwhelmed fans who lined Buckingham Palace to get a glimpse of him and pay their respects to the late Queen. The new King received a warm reception as he took the time to speak with the public on Friday afternoon while slowly making his way to the front gates of the palace. Do you know either of the women? Email us at: [email protected] He stepped out of his Bentley and moved through the crowd of thousands, stopping to shake hands and speak with people who had spent all morning awaiting his arrival. Janny Assiminios, believed to be Greek Cypriot and in London on a holiday, was so overcome by emotion that she reached out and grabbed the King's face before pulling him in for a kiss on the cheek.  While the act could be considered a breach of royal protocol, Charles was gracious in the moment and appeared to thank her. Moments later, a second woman kissed his outstretched hand as he passed by.  Ms Assiminios later told CNN she asked the King permission before planting a...
CNN's first chief anchor Bernard Shaw, who died Thursday of pneumonia aged 82, said in an interview late in life that he didn't think his career was 'worth it' because it kept him from his family.  Shaw became the chief anchor of the major news network in 1980 when it launched in Atlanta, and for the next two-decades he built an award-winning career in broadcast journalism that saw him traverse the globe covering politics and conflict. The award-winning newsman retired from CNN in 2001 at the relatively young age of 61, appearing sporadically until 2005.  In a 2014 interview with NPR, he admitted to regrets over having missed time with his wife, Linda, and two children, saying: 'I don't think it was worth it.'  Shaw last appeared on CNN in 2020 to reflect on the news network's 40th anniversary.  Bernard Shaw, CNN's first chief anchor, died Thursday at 82 Shaw became known as one of the 'Boys of Baghdad,' a group of reporters who documented the beginning of the Persian Gulf War in 1991 from an Iraqi hotel room Shaw...
Republican nominee for governor of Minnesota Scott Jensen released an awkward ad this week in which he holds a baby and does a full reversal on his position on abortion rights in the state. “I have delivered over 500 babies in my career. Abortion is divisive and Tim Walz is weaponizing the issue in Minnesota,” Jensen begins saying in the ad, taking aim at his opponent. “It’s a protected constitutional right and no governor can change that. And I’m not running to do that. I’m running because we need safe streets, excellent schools, parental rights and more money in the family budget. That’s what I’ll fight for. Let’s focus on the issues that matter,” Jensen concluded. I am officially obsessed with Scott Jensen’s train wreck of a campaign for Minnesota Governor. He has nearly no money, and this is the ad he just went up with. Getty Nate Diaz & Dana White MMA superstar Nate Diaz recently said he and Dana White nearly fought at a nightclub in 2014, and the UFC president responded to Diaz’s claim. Diaz made the remark during a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto ahead of his presumed final appearance inside the Octagon. Diaz only has one fight left on his UFC deal and he’s expressed on several occasions that he wants to part ways with the promotion. He’ll battle surging welterweight Khamzat Chimaev during the UFC 279 main event on September 10 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. And during his conversation with Okamoto, Diaz said he “almost beat up” White years back. Well, the UFC president was asked by The Mac Life’s Oscar Willis about Diaz’s comments and although he didn’t verify that the incident happened, White did say they were drinking that night in 2014. “Allegedly. We were drinking,” White laughed. Willis then asked if it was “that close” and still laughing, the UFC president responded: “Does anybody else have any other questions?”Diaz Said...

A mother of nine children killed while looking out the window of her South Carolina home was intentionally shot by a neighbor shooting at targets in his yard instead of by a ricocheting bullet as he told investigators, according to authorities. The charge against the Nicholas Skylar Lucas, 30, was upgraded to murder on Monday after the death of Kesha Luwan Lucille Tate, 42. Crime scene technicians determined the fatal bullet could not have deflected at an angle off a satellite dish being used as a target and then struck the woman in the chest, prosecutor Barry Barnette said. 'You can see that bullet didn't ricochet. That bullet is in pristine condition,' Barnette said, showing a judge a photo on his cellphone during a bond hearing in Cherokee County on Monday. He said the slug was removed from the victim's chest during an autopsy. Tate, 42, dropped to the floor and died after she was struck by a bullet in her chest when she went to the window to see what was happening when she heard the sound of gunshots,...

A filmmaker who interviewed former President Donald Trump before and after the 2020 election said the loss left Trump “depressed” and experiencing “withdrawal” after he was banned from Twitter. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube all banned Trump from their platforms in the days immediately following the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump was known for strange tweets, off-color comments, and late night and early morning tweetstorms – not unlike the one he unleashed on TRUTH Social early Tuesday. But before the country’s 45ht president built his own platform, he was left with nothing to comment on, “like” or unleash upon – at least nothing for the masses to consume. Documentarian Alex Holder, who saw Trump after his loss to now-President Joe Biden, shared his experiences on The Bulwark Podcast Tuesday. “In Mar-a-Lago, he looked terrible,” Holder told guest host Tim Miller. “He had put on a lot of weight, and he was incredibly depressed. Holder then shared what he called a “behind-the-scenes secret.” The reason for all of that was because he was going through a real withdrawal from...
President Joe Biden said forcefully on Wednesday that he had 'zero' advance notice of the FBI's raid on former President Trump's home at Mar-a-Lago – after a newly revealed document showed archival officials contacting White House lawyers about material that was earlier handed over by Trump. 'I didn't have any advanced notice. None. Zero. Not one single bit,' Biden said, making a zero sign with his hand for emphasis.' Biden's statement reflects what White House officials said earlier this month after the extraordinary raid, where FBI agents carted off 10 boxes of material, including some that the government says was at top classification levels. The White House has repeatedly said Biden did not know in advance about the raid, which was authorized by Attorney General Merrick Garland, in advance.  'I didn't have any advanced notice. None. Zero. Not one single bit,' President Joe Biden said, speaking about the FBI raid on his predecessor But it also follows a new paper trail that is revealing a fight over access to documents that Trump had earlier handed over, after keeping them at...
A panicked migrant on a bus heading to the Big Apple hastily told police he and other passengers were being 'forced' to go to New York City against their will. Dozens of migrants have been sent on busses to NYC by Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott in an attempt to protest President Joe Biden's border policies. Abbott has also sent migrants to Washington, DC as the number of migrants at the border passed 2.5 million in May, according to the US customs and Border Protection. The unidentified man - who chose to participate in Abbott's initiative - called police while at a stop in Chattanooga, Tenn. on August 13 and urged officers to help free them. The migrant on the bus said those onboard have different destinations and planned to get off in Tennessee and head to the airport - just as they were told. 'We're in Chattanooga, and over here, some men have held us on the bus against our will,' the man said in Spanish to a dispatcher, according to a 911 recording obtained by The New York Post....
Former President Donald Trump left a letter behind for President Joe Biden that the latter described as "more gracious" than he "had anticipated," according to a new report. The letter was revealed at the end of a lengthy New York Times report published Saturday, which focused on the Trump administration's handling of presidential records through the transition. Citing an aide who witnessed the moment in real time, the outlet reported that Biden discovered the letter inside a drawer in the Oval Office. It was his first time in the office since being inaugurated earlier that morning. The aide said the letter was written on two large pages and that Trump's distinctive handwriting was visible. Melania Trump was briefly spotted last week leaving celebrity hairdresser Frederic Fekkai’s salon in Manhattan, sporting an immaculate blow-dry. This was just days after FBI agents had stormed the Trumps’ magnificent Mar- a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida (dubbed the ‘Winter White House during his presidency), looking for classified documents, allegedly rummaging through Melania’s underwear drawer in the process. But, if the former First Lady, 52, felt any anger or emotion about the raid on her home, as always, she wasn’t showing it. She simply glided towards a limousine, surrounded by secret service agents, and was whisked back to the three-storey penthouse she shares with her 76-year-old husband and 16-year-old son Barron, in New York’s gleaming Trump Tower. The lawyer for a ‘killer’ yoga teacher is claiming that law enforcement quizzed her over the death of her love rival illegally – as court documents reveal her boyfriend told cops he regrets buying the murder weapon. Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, is accused of gunning down her love-rival Anna Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson on May 11 in Austin, Texas. Wilson was discovered dead in a friend's apartment on May 11 with two bullet holes in her head and another in her chest. Armstrong reportedly flew into a jealous rage after discovering pro-cyclist Wilson, 25, was seeing her boyfriend, Colin Strickland. But in new court documents filed by her attorney, Strickland repeatedly told cops during interview that Armstrong was not a jealous person and described her as the ‘least volatile’ woman he had dated. Armstrong’s lawyer, Rick Cofer, filed new documents to try and suppress evidence on August 17 – claiming that his client was not read her Miranda rights before being interrogated. He claims that evidence was obtained with an ‘illegal arrest warrant’ and accuses detectives of basing the arrest affidavit on...

An FBI report tied to 'Brangelina's' spat that led to the couple's divorce in 2016 revealed that Brad Pitt hit his son Maddox and told his then-wife Angelina Jolie that she was 'ruining the family' onboard a private jet, adding that one of the children 'looked like a f**king Columbine kid.'  The FBI documents, which have yet to be publicly released, were obtained by several news outlets on Tuesday. In the report, Jolie told authorities that Pitt was drunk and made multiple menaces to her and their six children while onboard a private flight from France to Los Angeles International Airport on September 14, 2016.  The 'Maleficient' actress, 47, requested the release of the FBI documents under the anonymous 'Jane Doe,' after submitting a Freedom of Information Act request in April.  In its final report on the investigation, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services concluded that Pitt, who has previously admitted to problems with alcohol, did not physically abuse any of his children. Pitt was also cleared by the FBI of any wrongdoing. Four days later,...
Syria has denied kidnapping US journalist Austin Tice who disappeared a decade ago just a week after Joe Biden demanded his release. The former US Marine was kidnapped in August 2012 aged 31 while reporting freelance in Damascus on the uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. His family believes he is alive and still being held in Syria. The identity of Tice's captors is not known, and there has been no claim of responsibility for his abduction. The Syrian Foreign Ministry described Tice as a US serviceman and denied the government was holding him or any other US citizen after Biden's assertions last week. Former Republican National Committee communications director Douglas Heye told CNN Monday former President Donald Trump epitomizes everything he vowed to fight when he was elected in 2016. Heye, a veteran GOP political strategist, went as far as to designate the former president “the swamp.” He joined CNN Newsroom with Victor Blackwell and Alisyn Camerota to discuss the current state of the Republican Party. Blackwell questioned Heye whether Trump is now the party’s establishment, given he was the last elected Republican president, and his endorsements matter to many voters. “We talk about narratives of Trump vs. the establishment of the GOP,” Blackwell noted, before he asked, “Is Trump the establishment of the GOP? He’s the former president, a front runner likely for the nomination in 2024.” Blackwell noted if Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) loses her Tuesday primary, then eight of 10 Republicans in the House who voted to impeach Trump last year will have been ousted by voters. Heye agreed Trump has become the party’s establishment, and said Republican voters should be cautious about embracing him. He also issued a warning to elected...
Ex-President Donald Trump said on Friday that the FBI need only have asked him for the documents that he and his supporters and surrogates have spent the week claiming didn’t exist or were planted by the FBI. Along with many of his media supporters, an ex-top adviser, a former House speaker, and one of his own attorneys, Trump has suggested that the Department of Justice and the FBI were executing a political hit job with the raid on Mar-a-Lago this week, and in a Truth social post early in the day, called the reports of classified documents a “hoax, just like Russia.” But, in a message aimed at former president Barack Obama, Trump’s phrasing led many to conclude he was confirming reporting by the Washington Post about the nature of the documents sought in the raid. Later still on Friday, Trump said in a pair of Truth Social posts that the FBI only “HAD TO ASK” in order to obtain the documents that they were seeking in the raid, which he and his supporters said might have been planted...

However, his appearance alongside announcers Tom McCarthy and John Kruk was a moment to forget for the broadcaster.  The broadcast swiftly went downhill after Rose joined the pair for the fifth and sixth innings.  He quickly discovered there was no seven-second delay on the live coverage as he did not hold back on the explicit language.  Throughout his stint in the booth, Rose asked if the broadcast was an 'X-rated show', described a 'c**k-high fastball', said 'horses***', 'no s***', and 'son of a b****'.  WARNING: GRAPHIC LANGUAGE  Pete Rose discovering there's no 7 second delay...the hard way. ???????? pic.twitter.com/2fdRzt6w5k— Rob Friedman (@PitchingNinja) August 7, 2022 NBC Sports Philadelphia cut Pete Rose's expletive-ridden appearance from the replay  RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next 'It was 55 years ago,...
A California teacher who displayed an Antifa flag in his classroom and said he wanted to turn his students into 'revolutionaries' is receiving three years of salary in exchange for his resignation. Parents at Inderkum High School in Sacramento had called on the district to fire AP Government teacher Gabriel Gipe after he was caught on video in September discussing the flag with Project Veritas, a far-right media group.  'I have an Antifa flag on my [classroom] wall and a student complained about that — he said it made him feel uncomfortable. Well, this [Antifa flag] is meant to make fascists feel uncomfortable, so if you feel uncomfortable, I don't really know what to tell you,' Gipe said.  Gabriel Gipe, a California teacher who displayed an Antifa flag in his classroom and said he wanted to turn his students into 'revolutionaries' is receiving three years of salary in exchange for his resignation Parents at Inderkum High School in Sacramento had called on the district to fire AP Government teacher Gabriel Gipe after he was caught on video in September discussing the...
Paul Newman's drinking was so bad that his long-suffering wife Joanne Woodward once found him lying insensible on the floor, his head bleeding after falling out of bed. She came close to leaving him that night. 'It was one of many, many scenes,' she said. When she did finally snap, bundling their three young daughters into a car and driving to their Malibu beach home, Newman came in hot pursuit, banging on the door and shouting to be let in. She refused and Newman, the blue-eyed actor lusted after by women worldwide, spent several nights sleeping in his car on the drive until they reached a compromise. He couldn't give up the booze completely, he said, but he would stick to beer rather than whisky and the half dozen martinis he was downing every night. Given this was a man who would drink a six-pack of beer at breakfast, it wasn't much of a concession. But, as a new TV series reveals, the episode offers an intriguing insight into how the 50-year partnership of 'Hollywood's golden couple' — long regarded...

The White House on Monday said President Joe Biden continues to have mild 'lingering symptoms' but took pains not to spell out what they are following the president's second round of covid, as he continues in his 12th day of isolation. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made the comment after White House physician Dr. Kevin O'Connor said in a letter Biden continues to 'feel well' after suffering a rebound case of the virus shortly after testing negative. 'No reoccurring symptoms – meaning like, if you look at [O'Connor's] original letter, there's nothing. There's nothing severe right? Because he feels fine. He feels he feels good.' 'But as we know, all of us have had COVID, we do have a little bit of a lingering cough, a little bit of maybe a lingering sniffle. That's not uncommon to happen, so that's what we are talking about,' she said, without specifying the exact nature of the president's ailments. 'Many of us have had COVID before and they tend to be lingering symptoms and that's what I'm talking about,' White House Press...
Senior Adviser for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America Matt Zeller did not hold back in his criticism of Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) on At This Hour with Kate Bolduan Monday morning, blasting the senator for his vote on the burn pits bill, calling him an “empty suit,” and saying that he had refused to help the Afghan interpreter whom Zeller credits with saving his life. CNN anchor Kate Bolduan brought on Zeller to discuss the stumbles in getting the bill passed. The debate over the bill has moved from the Senate floor to the television airwaves, with Toomey and other Republicans defending their votes against the bill as objections to a “budget gimmick” and Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) refusal to allow amendments, and Democrats and comedian Jon Stewart arguing that more veterans were dying every day while the bill was delayed. Bolduan asked Zeller, who has been protesting on the Senate steps for days since the bill failed to pass if he thought the bill would still move forward “despite the setbacks” and what it meant if...
“Why he’s living in a little crappy old motorhome, I have no idea. It’s the dullest mobile home park in the whole country. That’s probably why he picked it.” — Barbara West, a neighbor of college admissions scandal mastermind-turned-informant Rick Singer, now living in a Florida mobile home park awaiting a September sentencing.
Disgraced Broadway producer Scott Rudin shocked the cast and crew of the hit play To Kill a Mockingbird by announcing that the show would not return to Broadway despite it bringing in $2 million-a-week in ticket sales. Rudin owns the rights to the stage version of Harper Lee's iconic novel, which has been a hit since it was adapted for the stage by writer Aaron Sorkin in 2018.  Showbiz411's Roger Friedman was the first to report on the development, citing a source who said that Rudin 'has never gone away.'  Rudin has faced numerous allegations of bullying and accused of mistreating people beyond the scenes of his productions. There had been 'a long negotiation to turn the production over to other producers.' Those negotiations apparently failed. Rudin officially stepped away from an active role in the show in 2021 following the accusations. He also resigned from the Broadway League. The producer also stepped away from numerous film projects - but has now exerted his control over the play he maintains the rights to.  Among those who expressed their surprise and outrage...
DEAR HARRIETTE: My guy friend knew that I was getting cheated on but didn’t say anything to me about it. He never liked my ex-boyfriend. He warned me a few times that the man that I was with was not a good person, but he never gave me a specific reason as to why he felt that way, so I brushed it off. When I found out that I was being cheated on, my friend’s first response was, “I tried to tell you!” He did not try to tell me, explicitly, that he knew I was being cheated on. He gave me vague reasons for disliking my ex-boyfriend and never elaborated. If he knew for a fact that my ex was cheating, he could have just said that. That’s completely different than just telling me that my boyfriend is “no good for me” and leaving it at that. My friend doesn’t understand why this is a problem. Am I right to be upset with him for this? Betrayed Related Articles Advice | Harriette Cole: Is this friendship beyond fixing?...

A teen accused of attacking an NYPD cop while free on bail asked a judge if he could press charges during a court appearance. The 16 year-old, who isn't being named, asked Judge Althea Drysdale if he could file charges during a court appearance in Manhattan Tuesday. But his response to a question about what accusations he'd like to make was inaudible. Tuesday's court hearing saw the teen respond 'Yes, your honor' to every question he was previously asked.   And NYC Mayor Eric Adams said the decision to free the boy on bail again had reduced Big Apple to a national 'laughingstock' over what critics say are woke bail laws that prioritize the wellbeing of suspects over crime victims.    The boy has now been released to a family center in Brooklyn, although he will be free to roam during the day, and summoned back each evening for a curfew.   Horrifying footage showed the 16-year-old punching the cop in the head before grabbing him around the neck and slamming him repeatedly into metal railings on Saturday. The teen was previously arrested...
Three days after voting against a bill codifying same-sex marriage, Republican Rep. Glenn Thompson celebrated his gay son finding his 'one true love' at his wedding.  Thompson, R-Pa., gave a speech at the reception after the same-sex nuptials where he said that parents have 'hopes and dreams' about their children being healthy, finding their calling and finding 'their one true love.'  Audio recording of the heartfelt speech was obtained by BuzzFeed News.   'We hope right from the beginning, it's all about having a healthy child. A HEARTBROKEN mum has told how her teenage son died on a school trip after his teachers brushed off his severe illness as homesickness. Timothy Fehring, 15, was visiting Europe from Australia when he became sick and was barely able to walk as he lost 5kg and vomited repeatedly. 3Tim Fehring pictured with his dad DaleCredit: Facebook 3The teenager died while on the trip of a lifetime to EuropeCredit: Facebook The "fit and energetic" teen - a year nine student at Melbourne's Blackburn High School - started feeling ill on the first day of the trip. The youngster ended up developing an infection in his blood and lungs that turned into sepsis. "Children shouldn't die, this is so tragic," his dad Dale told 9News. Pete Buttigieg slammed Marco Rubio for calling the bill codifying same-sex marriage into law a 'stupid waste of time', claiming that he has plenty of time to take on the measure. The Department of Transportation secretary went on the defense against his marriage Sunday morning. 'If he's got time to fight against Disney, I don't know why he wouldn't have time to help safeguard marriages like mine,' Buttigieg told CNN's State of the Union. 'This is really, really important to a lot of people. It's certainly important to me.' He added: 'If they don't want to spend a lot of time on this, they can vote 'yes' and move on. And that would be really reassuring for a lot of families around America – including mine.' Buttigieg is referencing Rubio attacking Disney World for public opposition to Florida's so-called 'Don't Say Gay' bill, which stops public school teachers from discussing sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through third grade. The Transportation secretary and former Mayor of South Bend, Indiana has been married to his husband Chasten since 2018. The...
Donald Trump's claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged got a standing ovation from a crowd of young conservatives in Tampa on Friday night. At another point he blasted the global climate crisis as a 'hoax' that had to be 'defeated' by Republicans.  After arriving more than an hour late to his scheduled appearance at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit, the former president delivered a lengthy hour-and-a-half speech in which he raged at the Biden administration, Democrats' agenda, the border crisis - and dropped more hints he could run to change that in 2024. 'Our country has never been in a position like this. The election was stolen, it was rigged,' the former president said in his speech, sponsored by Turning Point Action.  'I ran twice, I won twice, and I did much better the second time than the first.'  The audience in the Tampa Convention Center erupted in cheers - a departure from the lackluster reception his complaints about the 2020 race have gotten at recent campaign rallies. And dropping yet another hint about his 2024 ambitions,...
